Need more info, in order to help.
Do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).
Also, what version TWRP?

Did you unlock the phone and root it yourself?
If so, the process to do fastboot getvar, is the same as the fastboot command you used to unlock the bootloader. Connect the phone to PC, boot into bootloader-fastboot mode, open command prompt on PC (probably need to change directory to whatever folder contains fastboot.exe), then type fastboot getvar all
Then post the output, but delete IMEI and serial number before posting (these are personal data what should never be posted online).
Alternately, in bootloader, tell us what it says for hboot number, radio baseband number, and OS number. This doesn't tell as all the getvar data, but at least it gives us a few critical pieces of info.
Your TWRP version is very old. Its not compatible with CM14 (or 13, for that matter). Probably also not appropriate for your phone's firmware (but need more info to determine that).
Did you use a toolkit to unlock the bootloader (that particular TWRP version is a telltale sign)? If so, the toolkit is obsolete (hasn't been updated in almost 2 years) and many of its components therefore cause more problem than they solve. More importantly, the toolkit is a crutch, which shortcuts the learning process, and it gets you stuck without the proper knowledge to get yourself unstuck (as you now see). For instance, if you used the toolkit, than you have no idea how to do basic stuff needed to mod these phones, like fastboot commands.

Im assuming you may have a canadian provider?
I believe there are issues with that if it is the case. If it is flashing correctly and allowing you to boot into the rom and then rebooting, i doubt it would be twrp.
You may need to wait a couple of days as TeamM8 are building a rom specifically for Canadian carriers which disables the AGPS which is causing your issues. (If that is what the issues are)
Alternative is to flash CM13 for the time and update when they release a working build.

Good catch, and interesting issue, which I was not aware of.
Although it would be helpful if the OP confirmed he actually uses a Canadian provider.
OP should be as specific as possible, and answer all questions posed to them, if they want proper help.
yes im a canadian user. and i have fixed the problem by disabling gps. Thanks

Folks
I need help to solve a problem.
I bought a HTC One M8x and decided to set up a rom custon. I study the subject before. I took the program kit available for the M8 and follow all the steps to unlock. All this function normally, however when installing the ROM custon the device just gave error. I was exploring the tool I ended up pressing and making procedures that were not listed, but apparently did not issue before starting the installation made the backup and then wipe. I started the procedure to install, entered the install section and located the ROM and sent install. After a while appeared an error saying that the installation was not possible, I managed to recover the backup, but the phone was not the same. I realized that my internal memory is no longer visible, I can not download pictures or audios in whatsapp, another thing I noticed is that the file manager also does not provide the internal memory (directories, programs, and others). When I try to synchronize your phone with your computer to the same thing, I can see the micro SD, but can not see the internal memory. I possibly when I was digging the Recovery program just blocking the internal memory and wanted to know how do to reverse. Does anyone have any ideas.
Do you have access to bootloader? if yes. You can try to restore your phone with HTC RUU

Using the (now outdated) toolkit was a mistake. Whenever modding these devices, you need to research the current methods applicable to the current state of the phone, not methods from 2 years ago (and all the toolkits have not been updated in that long or more).
The toolkit installs an obsolete version of TWRP, and that is probably why the ROM is failing to flash. It probably also wiped out your OS version on bootloader screen and getvar (not a major issue, but an inconvenience if you want to determine the firmware number).
You should update to more current version of TWRP. But you'll probably need to solve the issue of your internal storage first, which is apparently been corrupted. Go into TWRP, and try the option in Wipe to "Format Data" (button next to "Advanced"). This usually fixes the corrupt internal storage issue.
Also do fastboot getvar all, and post the results, so we can see more info about the phone, and more properly provide guidance. Delete IMEI and serial number before posting.
I have access to the bootloader but do not know run this action. Could you tell me where I can walkthrougt to do so.
Thank you for your help
Pardon
Now that saw the second message. I will perform this procedure now
Friend
Your solution worked perfectly.
I wanted your help to make the second action, I entered the bootloader and accessed the fastboot but did not find the getvar option. Could you tell me how to do it.
I found the TWRP 3.0.2, I believe it is the last version but need help because I believe that the update version is not simple, I installed the 2.7.0.2 version.
Thanks again

This isn't an option on the phone, if that is what you mean. Its a fastboot command issued from your PC, and you'd know how to issue a fastboot command if you unlocked the bootloader via HTCDev.com, instead of letting the toolkit do it for you. Which is another reason I don't like the toolkits: they shortcut the learning process, and leave you without the skills to solve basic problems, which almost inevitably happen.
You're going to need to figure out where fastboot.exe was installed during the bootloader unlock process. Once you've found that, you can then:
1) Connect phone to PC, booted into bootloader-fastboot mode
2) On PC, open a window for the folder that contains fastboot.exe
3) Hover mouse cursor over the window, and Shift+Right Mouse button, then select "Open command window here" and this will open up Command Prompt to the fastboot directory
4) In Command Prompt window, type: fastboot getvar all
5) You will see output with details about the phone, to copy the desired text, right click on the command window, select Edit>Mark, then highlight the desired text (getvar output) and press Enter. Then paste the text.
6) Be sure to delete IMEI and serial number from getvar output before posting it here

Exact TWRP version depends on your current firmware, which we can determine from the getvar output above.
Once we've determined the proper TWRP version, its easily installed by putting the file in your fastboot folder, and flashing with fastboot command. Again, we see how valuable it is to know how to use fastboot. But don't try that, until we've determined the proper version from getvar output.

As I suspected, your firmware number (version-main) info was wiped out by using an obsolete version of TWRP (known bug). But luckily I know the radio number corresponds to Marshmallow firmware.
Flash TWRP 3.0.2 using the fastboot install method here. No need to install Android SDK, or drivers noted in the instructions, since you already have fastboot setup (and you're a fastboot expert now ); and not need to reboot using adb, if you do it using the button combo other otherwise.
After getting the updated TWRP version installed, you should be able to put the desired custom ROM on the phone, and flash it. If not, take note of any error messages or other behaviors, and post them here.

I managed to update TWRP following the instructions, but when I tried to install the ROM did not succeed.
It gave an error as if he could not open the file or install, see the message:
Error opening: `/and-sec/uuuuuuuu.uuu'(I/O error) ===> Several lines with mensagem.
You know how I can be able to install any rom?
In TWRP go to WIPE then select Format data, type yes
Then go to REBOOT select recovery ... now try again to install ROM
Hi,
A few weeks ago my M8 developed a serious problem - basically all calling functionality stopped working. The android basic dialer get's stuck dialing a number and eventually the system presents the standard 'Dialer is not responding' message, calling my number from another phone always gets an engaged tone, Skype and Whatsapp calling fails without any error messages. Also data connection fails, text messaging fails intermittently, music player fails to play through speakers and fails intermittently through Bluetooth.
This didn't occur after the install of any apps and the phone didn't experience any physical shocks, but seemed to happen after a Skype call.
Naturally, I tried factory reset first, but to no avail.
As the phone is now out of warranty I rooted it and installed the Android Revolution ROM onto it. (PS thanks to everyone for the wealth of help and guides to carrying this out.) I was hoping a new ROM would fix the problem, but it hasn't.
So, I'm assuming the problem is at a very low level, with some device driver(s).
My question is, does the ROM include all of the device drivers? Do I need to do something else to get the basic device drivers reinstalled? I note the download site for the Android Revolution ROM also has links to firmware downloads - should I also install the firmware download?
Any help would be much appreciated.

I'd try RUU, if you M8 version has one. Otherwise, yes, I'd try to flash firmware, than re-install stock or custom ROM onto the phone. I don't think the AR firmware collection is very current. I'd use the stock, signed firmwares from ckpv5's thread (post #5): https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
If you need help determining if your version has RUU, or what firmware number to use, do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).

Some other versions (besides US) have RUU, but unfortunately I don't think your version (H3G) is one of those.
One idea, which I touched upon before, is to flash the firmware (since you don't think flashing the ROM alone won't help - the firmware is basically the "lower level drivers" you are talking about), then restore a stock TWRP backup (ROM). Its as close to a RUU "factory image" as you'll get, since there is no RUU (that I am aware of).
To do this, you'll need to relock the bootloader, and flash the 6.13.771.4 from Post #5 of the following thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
Then you'll need to unlock the bootloader again, install TWRP back to the phone (flashing the firmware overwrites TWRP with stock recovery). Then flash the stock TWRP backup 6.13.771.4 from Post #3 of the same thread, using instructions in Post #1.

I've had a go at relocking the bootloader following the instructions in http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-reset-unlocked-status-to-locked-on-htc-one-m8/
i.e. using the following sequence of commands
adb shell
su
echo -ne '\x00\x00\x00\x00' | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 bs=1 seek=33796
exit
exit

but it's not working for me - it still shows as *** Unlocked ***
Couple of things:
1. if I issue the command adb devices (after a full reboot to system) first I get an error message "adb server version (31) doesn't match this client (36)" and my device id is listed anyway, but if I reissue the command I get my device id listed without the error. Do I need a different version of adb?
2. do I need to unroot as well as relock? (If so, is there a guide somewhere?)

You're making much harder on yourself than need be.
The process to relock the bootloader is in the instructions for flashing the firmware, which I already directed you to (Post #5 of the previously linked thread). Near the bottom of that post, below all the download links (so maybe you missed seeing the instructions).
Relocking the bootloader is a single, easy fastboot command:
fastboot oem lock
This will make the bootloader say RELOCKED, which is sufficient to flash the firmware.
The guide you linked is to make it say LOCKED (versus RELOCKED) and the only reason to do that is to fool HTC into thinking it was never UNLOCKED for warranty purposes. You don't need to do this, and you can't since the guide clearly says s-off is required, which you do not have (you are s-on).
Sorted :good:. And it did indeed fix the core problem with the dialer etc. I know have an apparently fully working phone again.
Many many thanks for this.

i had installed (TWRP by chr0247 v2.8.0.3). then i installed new Os. but it always boots into bootloader. when i click mount button on recovery mode, the system partition is unticked. Is this a reason for my problem? i tried marking it(mounting) and rebooted my devices but still same problem. again it boots to bootloader, system is shown unmounted on mount option on opening recovery. my device is bricked and i am stuck since very long time. Plz any help would be greatly appreciated. bootloader is unlocked !

Where did you get that version TWRP? I don't recognize the user/source chr0247
Describe the source location, or obfuscate the link with some extra character (as I see you don't have enough posts to post a link).
Which ROM did you try to install?
That TWRP version is a bit old. I just have a feeling you have used wrong or old TWRP; or mismatched ROM vs. firmware, and the condition is probably recoverable.
If you know how, do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).

Help you out with what exactly? I assume you have the same/similar problem as the (old) thread title: not booting to OS. But it would be nice if you gave a description of how you got to this point, if you have TWRP (like the OP does) and unlocked bootloader or not. Getvar data is really useful, but usually not enough info by itself to describe the problem.
You have the M8eye. Not a lot of folks on this forum have that variant, and not a lot of resources for it. If you have unlocked bootloader and TWRP, you can try to restore one of the stock TWRP backups (has to be one for the "eye" specifically). Although the only one uploaded for your CID is 1.80.720.1. So I don't personally know if they higher version number backup will work or not.

I asked for a detailed description of how you got to this point, plus if you have TWRP and unlocked bootloader. And you respond with a single sentence?
"I have the same problem" isn't an appropriate description of your issue, if you want proper help.
You have TWRP 2.8.0.3 and tried to install a ROM? Since that is what the "above guy" did. Unless your problem is exactly the same (and trust me, it never is!) you need to provide specific information.
Yeah, sorry. To be honest it's my cousin's phone and he gave it to me to fix. Yes, it has TWRP 2.8.0.3 and I don't think it has a ton installed in it, coz whenever I try to switch it on, it just shows HTC in the blank white screen and it's stuck like that until the battery dies. If I open it in recovery mode it takes me to some TWRP bootloader.

Even so, I don't see why you can't ask your cousin what he did, tried to do, etc. It's in his interest if he wants the phone fixed, to give you the info.
Might be something as simple as flashing the right version SuperSU (botched root attempt).
Hi, I made this post in the Sprint section a few days ago, but figured I'd post here as well to see if maybe this section has more traffic. If that's not allowed, I apologize in advance.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-htc-one-m8/help/stock-roms-t3669676
Basically, I'm looking for a stock rom for Sprint that would work with 1.54.651.8 firmware. All the links I can find on the forums seem to be dead.
Alternatively, a nandroid backup or way to extract the rom from the 1.54.651.8 RUU I do have (but won't successfully flash for whatever reason)
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
A custom ROM would need to support the Sprint M8, and be based on 4.4.2. Most any newer (newer than KitKat) ROMs will suffer major incompatibility with your ancient firmware, including extreme long boot time or no boot, and broken WiFi.
Suggest stocking with updating the firmware. Is the device s-on or s-off?
Problems with the RUU while "sending" are usually on the PC side. Try to re-install HTC drivers, try another USB port (USB 2.0 works best), and try another cable. Or even try another PC if possible.
Yeah I was able to find one custom 4.4.4 ROM (It was labelled 4.4.2, but it works so I guess it's close enough). There are just a few issues with it and I've always been more of a stock person anyway so I'd rather use a stock rom if I have the option.
As far as updating firmware, I am S-ON - I only originally rooted for a wifi hotspot app, so I didn't have a need to go S-OFF.
I guess it wouldn't hurt to give the RUUs a shot on a different computer. I'll just have to talk a friend into letting me install the drivers and giving it a go. One thing I'm not sure about - is it safe to go straight to the lastest RUU on HTC's site? I was willing to try it back when I had no rom at all, but now that I have a custom rom that mostly works, I'd rather not totally crap the bed.

You can "skip" RUUs, and go the latest. However, you may (probably) need to update to the Marshmallow firmware anyway, before you can RUU. There is a strange limitation on most US version M8, where the RUU will fail with Error 155, if you try to go to Marshmallow from any former version (be it Kitkat or Lollipop) without first updating the firmware.
So the steps would be:
1) Relock bootloader
2) Flash to Marshmallow signed firmware (Sprint), in fastbootRUU mode
3) RUU to Marshmallow
4) Unlock bootloader again
5) Flash TWRP, root, and do whatever mods you want
Seeing as RUU will also wipe the phone. All this might be more than you want to do, if you are fairly happy with the phone as it is.

I don't so much mind the wipe, but I am a bit nervous about updating the firmware since that sounds like it could leave me in limbo if the RUU still didn't want to work for whatever reason. I guess I'll search around for where I can get that firmware and the procedure of how to do it and see how comfortable I feel with it in case I go that route.
If I knew for sure that it would all go through, I'd be fine with the reset. But that seems to take the attractive part of the RUU away in that it's no longer an "all in one" or one step process. (Not counting unlocking/relocking the bootloader since that's a quick and easy thing).

The firmware is posted in the same thread as the RUUs. And instructions on how to flash, as well.

You can also opt for the Lollipop RUU (does not require flashing the firmware first). While not the latest, it's obviously more updated than what you presently have. And most of the current MM ROMs should work with LP firmware. There isn't much difference in the firmware it seems, for LP versus MM. Much different from KK to LP, which causes the problems I mentioned earlier (if you try to run KK firmware with LP or MM ROMs).
For maximum compatibility, matching the firmware is usually best. But I was running LP firmware with MM ROMs for a while (was simply to lazy to flash the MM firmware or RUU).
Ok so it sounds like the easiest option for me at this point is to grab a Lollipop RUU and try to flash it from a new computer with a fresh install of all the drivers. That way, at least if it fails to recognize my phone like the newest one did, I'll still be where I currently am with the stock (though outdated) firmware and custom rom.
Otherwise, I'll keep my fingers crossed that someone stumbles across this thread that has a meticulous archive of all old stock Sprint roms
Thanks so much for all your help and answering my questions so quickly. Much appreciated.

"Jail break" is a term specific to only iPhones. There is not such thing as "jail break" on an Android device. I assume you mean s-off, or some other mod? I can only guess, if you don't use the specific and proper terminology.

All in one Toolkit is obsolete, you shouldn't be using it. It contains a very old version of TWRP which will cause problems for many folks.
System partition is the OS/ROM. Should be obvious, that wiping the system partition results in no OS. Can't boot to an OS that isn't there any more. If you didn't know what the result would be from wiping a partition, you should be touching it in the first place!!!! Those options are listed under "Advanced" for a reason. If you aren't an advanced user, don't mess with them, unless you are following directions form an experienced user, or know what the result is going to be.

Not enough info to know why the RUU failed. You linked a post with multiple RUUs, so we don't know which one you tried. We also don't know your current phone configuration.
Which version number RUU did you try? For HK version, you typically will need to flash the one that contains the digits "654". The RUU with digits "651" is for non-HK Sprint version. Assuming CID/MID has not been modified (which we don't know, if you don't provide more info).
Post specific info about your phone. Do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).
If the phone is s-on, you need to lock it in order to RUU. I don't know if you are s-on of s--off.
You can't run a lower number (downgrade) RUU unless you have s-off. Again, I don't know what version number RUU you tried, your current version number on the phone, or whether you are s-on or s-off.
Hi Sir,
Thank you for replying. Sim Unlocked from mobile store. actually I also don't know witch method they are using to unlock. After unlocking network signals showing in GSM mode. When I am changing to LTE mode again signals disappeared. In GSM mode incoming calls are not working. SMS both incoming and outgoing working fine.
I tried to change CID and s-off but it's not working.
TWRP I used version v2.7.0.2 these recovery installed from all in one twrp (sprint). when i come back in to bootloader it will asking No OS installed are you sure you wish to reboot?
My mobile model is HTC one M8 HK (831C) Sprint Internal storage is 32GB.
I download and used to flash following files.
1. signed_6.20.654.3_firmware.zip
2.RUU_M8_WHL_M60_SENSE70_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_Harman_6.20.654.3.exe
3.0P6BIMG_Sprint_HTC_One_M8_Harman_6.20.654.3_RUU.zip
What was I do is
First Re-locked bootloader using with all in one and rename firmware as 0P6BIMG.ZIP then flash from SD Card Installed Successfully. Bootloader also showing OS version 6.20.654.3
Next using exe file "RUU_M8_WHL_M60_SENSE70_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_Harman_6.20.654.3.exe" everything going well when the process bar reaching to 100% then it's showing error 155. I Checked the error guide provide by exe file there Unsupported RUU please try again with supported RUU.
Next using with ZIP file "0P6BIMG_Sprint_HTC_One_M8_Harman_6.20.654.3_RUU.zip" flash from SD Card it will showing not enough memory but internal is full empty.

LTE is difficult (maybe impossible) to get working in cases where the device is not intended for your region/carrier (which I assume is the case, that you are not located in US, on the Sprint carrier). GSM should work (as you indicated) as well as 3G (HSPA) provided that your carrier uses a band(s) supported by the Sprint version M8
I tried to change CID and s-off but it's not working. I don't know what that means "it's not working". Most folks who say they have trouble with getting s-off, are trying the hopeless waste of time, which is trying to usethe long obsolete "free" s-off method of firewater. It's never going to work.
Also, you should also be careful here, when changing CID. Only use a Sprint CID, or SuperCID with a Sprint firmware/RUU. Trying to use any other firmware or RUU will result in a radio brick (possibly permanent).
TWRP I used version v2.7.0.2 these recovery installed from all in one twrp (sprint). when i come back in to bootloader it will asking No OS installed are you sure you wish to reboot? That version is too old (over 4 years) and you should have used current TWRP. This was probably caused by using the toolkit (which I mentioned is not advised anymore). Old versions of TWRP was not compatible with Sprint M8 (it had it's own "CDMA" version TWRP) and it probably caused the wrong partition to be overwritten.
What was I do is
First Re-locked bootloader using with all in one and rename firmware as 0P6BIMG.ZIP then flash from SD Card Installed Successfully. Bootloader also showing OS version 6.20.654.3 Try flashing firmware again, the number should show up in getvar all (below) under "version-main". Flashing firmware twice is usually a good idea.
Error 155 is common, if flashing a US Marshmallow RUU, without being on the matching firmware. Flashing firmware again, as indicated above, may solve it.
Next using with ZIP file "0P6BIMG_Sprint_HTC_One_M8_Harman_6.20.654.3_RUU.zip" flash from SD Card it will showing not enough memory but internal is full empty.

Hi all,
I had an old M8 that I decided to reflash to stock. Its been a while and clearly I did something wrong. Upon boot up it just pops up with the message " Unfortunately, Setup Wizrd has stopped work". I have read a few post but I cannot access the settings menu. It wont open. Any ideas where I go from here?
Thanks

Maybe. If you provide specific details on what exactly you did. Step by step, with file names, version numbers, etc. Also, the state of the device (unlocked bootloader, root, custom ROM, etc.) before you tried to "reflash to stock".
Also, do fastboot getvar all, and post the results. Delete IMEI and serial number before posting.

At least try to remember whatever you can, even if it's not exact. You must remember something. If you don't know what you did, how are we supposed to?
Maybe the file(s) you tried to use to "reflash to stock" is still on your computer? If so, tell us exact version number, and file name.
Was it on a custom ROM and/or root before you tried to "reflash to stock"?
In bootloader, does it say bootloader is LOCKED, UNLOCKED or RELOCKED?
Do you have TWRP installed? And if so, what version?
Maybe the file(s) you tried to use to "reflash to stock" is still on your computer? So I from what I can remember I think I just tried to factory reset the phone. Stupid of me I know.
Was it on a custom ROM and/or root before you tried to "reflash to stock"? I think it was on a Cyanogenmod, rooted,
In bootloader, does it say bootloader is LOCKED, UNLOCKED or RELOCKED? Bootloader says Unlocked
Do you have TWRP installed? And if so, what version Yes I have TWRP v 2.7.0.2
I have tried to do some of my digging but I am not sure what to do as my version-main is blank. I read on a few other posts that I need to flash a stock rom?

Just for your knowledge: Factory reset doesn't reflash anything, or restore the ROM. If a factory reset is actually what you did, all that does is wipe user data. The ROM (system partition) is actually untouched.
Do you have TWRP installed? And if so, what version Yes I have TWRP v 2.7.0.2
This is a horribly obsolete version of TWRP, that isn't compatible with your current firmware (hboot, etc.). But that is just for your info. The TWRP versions is not too relevant, if you choose to follow the next piece of advice:
I have tried to do some of my digging but I am not sure what to do as my version-main is blank. I read on a few other posts that I need to flash a stock rom?
If the intent is to return to stock (and will also be the last version made by HTC, Marshmallow), and which will probably clear up the Setup Wizard issue, you can use the RUU and instructions on the following post. Be aware this will wipe all data from the phone:
