Hi All...
I have a prom with my Orange DHD...I was updating to the latest OTA but the update failed and now all i get when i start up is the green circular arrows for a few seconds and then the red triangle with exclamation mark.
I can access HBOOT and FASTBOOT menus, but Factory Reset and Recovery do not work (bot result in the red triangle)
I had a look on the SD card, but no update files were on the root of the card...
It looks like the download of the rom was corrupted and not saved...
Having done a bit of research here i tried to put a stock PD98DIAG.zip from a 2.3.5 WEE RUU onto the SD card root and went to HBOOT, but that failed as the checks failed with the below errors:
no image for PD98DIAG.zip,
no image or wrong image for PD98DIAG.nbh and PD98IMG.zip etc.
and also as the CID was incorrect
(assuming my phone CID is ORANG001, so not accepting the WWE?).
So...my question is before i get HTC to take it back as its under warranty and lose my phone for up to a month (i go on holiday next week and am not back till Easter - but would liek it with me on the trip), is there a method i can put a rom on to at least get the phone to boot and then do an update again?
When i plug the phone to usb the phone recognises the connection but my pc asks for Android 1.0 drivers (even though HTC Sync and the HTC Drivers are installed)
Can i run any RUU from my PC to get the phone up if the PC isnt loading the HTC Android 1.0 drivers?
I guess what i'm looking for is step by step instructions on getting the phone back up conisidering all i can currently do is access HBOOT...What are the risks of rooting going wrong and bricking the phone?
the HBOOT details are:
*** LOCKED (OOW) *** ->what does this mean?

Thanks guys...
Your phone isn't rooted so you can't install any other roms. There's various guides on how to root your phone, some easier than others depending on the stock. Personally I had to update to a newer rom that had an exploit in it that allowed me to install an earlier version that allowed rooting. From there you can then permanently root the phone.
The best thing would be to search for guides on rooting a desire hd on orange (I'm on 3 so may be slightly different), then you can always reinstall your stock rom if you want

Your phone isn't rooted (the LOCKED message on bootloader screen) which is why you can't flash the PD98 image or any other ROM/RUU for that matter that is not digitally signed by Orange.
If you have warranty I don't suggest rooting it as this might void the warranty, especially if your phone still doesn't work after rooting. Perhaps it would be easier for Orange to fix it?
Hey,
A month ago i tried to use the ace hack kit on my Desire HD and I seemingly screwed it up.
I came back to it to try and see what was possible.
After trawling through tons of forum posts I found:
- When my SD card is in the volume buttons do not work, nor does power.
- The above is the same even when using the only other microSD card i have.
- I put the PD98IMG.zip on my other SD card and booted in HBOOT, it proceeded to work and gave me a CID error.
- Tried to make micro SD card a "gold card" but can't due to only being able to access HBOOT.
- Went HBOOT > Recovery > Vol Up + Power > Wipe cache and clear data > Install of Micro SD > Doesn't work and just restarts.
- I am concerned the S-ON may be a big issue here, i did try RUU (i think its that, from htcdev, but didn't work since the version was incorrect)
When i come into HBOOT this appears:

Below this is how buttons work and options of which are; Fastboot, Recovery, Factory Reset, Simlock, Image CRC.
Any help would be much appreciated so that I can stop using this old bashed around Nokia E63.
I am more than happy to provide any information you guys can think of, just tell me how to obtain it please.
Thanks!

Your sdcard is corrupted to work as a gold card, that is why you get freezed in hboot. Get a new or different sdcard and then try flashing a ruu again.

Yea i tried this and this does not work because as i said "i did try RUU (i think its that, from htcdev, but didn't work since the version was incorrect)"

Getting past the HBOOT no matter the SD card for me is done by just putting sd card in the split second after i see its entering HBOOT, this works and it does recognise it (Because i said I put the PD98IMG.zip on my other SD card and booted in HBOOT, it proceeded to work and gave me a CID error.")
Thanks,
Iribela.

You have to find a RUU from your carrier. Do the following, in a cmd session in the PC with the phone plugged in fastboot usb type: fastboot getvar all and then find the INFOcidnum and of course the INFOmain. With that information we can search for a RUU that works.

I guess that I have a RUU that might help. Just let me check and I will send a PM (private message) :good:
Edit: There´s no RUU for that CID, but you can make a goldcard and flash an unbranded ROM. Do you know how to do that?

Iribela, if you give me a couple hours we can manage to get connected via Teamviewer and I will lend you a hand. You will need a working android phone to make the goldcard. Here you have a tutorial on how that is done: http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-easily-create-gold-card-for-htc-desire-without-hex-editing/
The goldcard tool can be downloaded from here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/30674730/GoldCardTool_0.0.7.zip
I can lend you a hand on patching the sdcard. But I need you to get a working phone, so we can get adb working.
Teamviewer involves me taking control of your PC for a while to do the job...if that is ok with you.
So can i get my friend to give me a CID since he is on same carrier, my android phone won't work i can only get into HBOOT.
Once i get that CID i can manage, really appreciate the help.

the CID you are getting in the goldcard tool is from the sdcard, not from your phone. That is how you patch your sdcard to convert it to a goldcard. If you are not sure just wait for me. That is why you need a working phone but with your sdcard (or the sdcard you are going to use to flash the RUU)

Hello,
I wanted to root my HTC Desire HD with AAHK2. At first it worked fine, connected to my phone, said that it needs to downgrade, went into hboot and did the necessary tasks.
Now I am unable to boot my smartphone. It freezes at the HTC logo. The same in HBOOT - it also freezes.
HBOOT shows me following info:

I removed micro SD and sim and were successful in doing a fastboot. After that I did a factory reset but that did not change things either.
Somebody knows what I should do now (except buying a new phone )
Greetings in advance!
Where did u factory reset...the phone settings, recovery or on the bootloader?
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk
Hi, directly via the bootloader menu. Menu named "Factory Reset" directly under the menu item "Recovery". Greetings!
So your Bootloader freezes too ?

Hello echizen81,
Firstly, you must ensure that your phone can still receive fastboot commands. To ensure this, navigate to tools\win folder on AAHK2 extraction location and issue a 'fastboot devices' when you boot to bootloader to see if fastboot works (you should get a entry corresponding to your phone as a result of the command).
If this does, then there's still some hope of recovery! Read on...
On many posts related to AAHK2 issues, senior-forum-members (and Phiber2000 himself) have suggested using brands of SD cards which are known to work. One such list is present here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2367322.
It is possible that your issue could be due to either
a bad SD card which corrupted the transferred zip (since it appears that HBOOT itself was 'downgraded' properly), or
a bad USB connection (which corrupted the zip during transfer), or
a bad flash/hardware (in which case, you'd unfortunately need to buy a new device )
I'd recommend you change your SD card before attempting any sort of recovery of your device from this state. Also, make sure that the USB plug stays snug during file transfers. (and keep your fingers crossed while hoping that it is not a device's issue)
I had a similar (not same) issue, wherein I soft-bricked my device due to (incorrect) usage of attn1's AAHK.
Since you can access bootloader, you should be able to use an official RUU (pick an RUU which is supported without downgrade on AAHK2 from here http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Ace - be sure to pick a Froyo RUU ONLY IF you were using Froyo earlier, else pick-up a GingerBread RUU). However, since misc_version has altered the information an official RUU verifies on your device before flashing, you'd need to use a goldcard.
I recovered my device by creating a goldcard manually and flashing an official RUU. Here are the steps I followed:
acquire another SD card of one of the brands known to work with AAHK2 (Samsung, SanDisk, ADATA, etc)
You'd need to know the CID of the card you are using. Since it is a property of the SD card:
find a device (from a friend, maybe?) in which you can put the SD card
install ES File Explorer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en)
read the card's CID register (by navigating to /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc{N}/mmc{N}:{ID}/cid, where 'N' identifies the SD card (in case the device you are using has internal memory as well)
to be sure that you are actually reading the correct CID, repeat the procedure AFTER removing/replacing the SD card
note which MMC ID is absent/changed. This is the ID ('0', '1', or '2') whose CID register you should read and note.
Once you have the CID, visit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17247562 for instructions on goldcard creation.
The Gene Poole's http://huygens.hoxnet.com/goldcard.html was working till a few days ago, but is down right now.
If Gene Poole's portal remains unavailable, use the tool in the second post on the thread.
insert the goldcard, ensure your phone is charged more than 30% (if it's not, RUU wouldn't allow a flash. Follow this thread to 'charge' the device to appropriate voltage levels if the 'normal' method of charging won't work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658084)
Make sure you've all the correct HTC drivers installed. Fire the RUU and your phone should be recognized.
Proceed with flash, and keep your fingers crossed!
Do post your results. All the best!
Hi guys!
So here i am....
I had some problems with my htc running on CM 11, and i decided to go to firmware again, yet i forgot that i had s-on... so i had relocked the bootloader than i had unlock it again with htcdev token, after this operation the phone is not starting the cm 11 system. it goes only to the cm blue circle logo with loading and nothing more happen.
I thought that i will reinstall the rom from recovery.... and now i have a problem the recovery don't see the interior memory (SD?) where is the rom.zip. and i am not able to make the wipe or factory reset.
So i thought that i will use an external SD card, butwhen i had placed the rom on the sd card and plug the card in the phone the hboot shows some info that img 0p6bdiag.zip not found no image or wrong image.... and after i go to recovery form the bootloader and select the external sd card the recovery shows that the card is empty... but it is not. i tried to make aslo the rom by adb sideload, there is the comunication because it is sending the rom to the device but it is not installing it on the device...
AAA and one more thing i had extract the boot.img from the cm11 rom to the phone several times with no help
below the info from bootloader:

Hey i have a HTC one m8 on o2 in UK,
First of all i am a complete noob when it comes to phone repair/installing software on phones i'm not even sure how to get this 'fastboot var all' people seem to ask for, I've been browsing these forums for a few days and can't seem to work it out so hoping there's a patient person out there that could point me in the right direction.
It is stuck on the main load up screen and occasionally optimizing apps which it goes through this process and repeats.
Was using the phone then it popped up with a message, htc input has stopped working or something like that, can't really remember, said send error report so i pressed don't send, kept popping up so i restarted the phone and it started doing this, if i try and enter recovery mode it gives me a red triangle with an explanation mark.
From what i have been reading i may need to install an 'RUU' from an SD card onto the phone(i have no idea how to do this)

Had the phone since new so the software hasn't been tampered with.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Be aware that running an RUU will wipe your phone.
Download this RUU.zip
Rename it by deleting everything in the name of the .zip except for 0P6BIMG (and .zip of course)
Place that onto your ext SD (the card must be formatted to FAT32 ~ if it's 32GB or less, it probably already is) and boot into bootloader
Follow the on screen prompts (vol up to flash ~ power button to reboot when done ~ super easy)
And that's it.
After the flash is complete, delete the renamed .zip from you SD card. If you don't, your phone will try to update again every time you boot to bootloader.
Good luck!
Thanks for the fast reply, worked a treat, appreciated
