Hi everyone,
I've just gotten the new update notification.
I've heard that there are issues with the update. Worth noting I am completely stock.
Is it worth the update or should I wait?
Anyone?
I received the OTA to 5.1 about a week ago. It was definitely worth it for me, coming from 5.0.2. stock. I was having an issue where the battery would drain quickly each day unless I rebooted right after taking it off the charger in the morning. I haven't had that problem since upgrading to 5.1. I wasn't having any other significant issues with 5.0.2 and am also not having any problems with 5.1.
hello, when I first bought this phone the battery life wasn't great. It was okay, maybe lasted a day. Now the battery barely lasts 4 hours. I am running CyanogenMod 12 which is android version 5.0.2. My device is rooted. I just don't understand why. Also say if I'm using my device it starts to get hot, and I mean very hot, I end up taking the battery out until its cooled.
Someone help please.
Thanks
hi !
normal ...
the problem with all Lollipop roms : it's not stable at all and sometime the battery is good but sometime there are big problems of drain ...unpredictable behavior ! all L roms are generaly umpredictable with buggs....
For now ,members use lollipop roms at their own risk ! like "alpha/beta testers" ...
It's still too young and have too many problems ...
If you want a great rom ,i suggest KK 4.4.4 ones (CM11 ,slimkat or pacman )
at this time i test pacman ( https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=20808 ,link of official forum : http://forum.pac-rom.com/Thread-Pacman-I9195LTE-I91903G-9192duos-4-4-4-RC3-DEV )and it's really good ! :good:

my phone works fine no issues. is it worth my while to update to lollipop?
if so can i update from this build num to the latest lollipop or do i need to through the various builds from mine?

Yes, I like it a lot and think it's a big improvement to KK.
No!
Its not easy to use as 4.4..
The battery is draining, and the os is taking more space..

My general rule of thumb was and is: DON'T touch things which work.
I am on the same OS/ROM as you and I don't plan to do any changes.
Too many complains about lolipop.
if there was no battery drop I would say yes, but now i say dont. wait for 5.1
wait 5.1 lad.
Try to w8 for 5.1 I'v also used LP but I revert back to 108 Munjeni because of battery drain and now on 108 everything works great and I'm waiting for 5.1

Don't! Lollipop ruins your battery, now my phone barely last 6 hours and randomly drops to 0 when doing some heavy task. It's becoming more and more common if you read this thread. Just wait till 5.1.1 and wait a few weeks after to see if there are bugs.
Background program handling is much worse in LP. At least for me. Programs now restart instead of picking up where I left them. Could be a memory bug, since the phone tends to restart after about a week of use, and symptoms such as gps stops working appear.
I upgraded without a factory reset, which could play a role.
Battery same as KK for me.
For the OP I would recommend waiting for 5.1 and the first few user reviews before upgrading.

Lollipop is as good as kitkat for me. Just do a clean install and you will be fine.
Since we never benefit by the most two important things in Lollipop of Camera API2 or 64bit, actually it is just a waste of time for Z1c to upgrade unless you real want to try out new stuffs. And 5.0.2 got memory leak, 5.1.1 should be much better on handling memory but still some leaks there. KK got the best battery for all.

There is no memory leak in Xperia 5.0.2 firmwares. Sony had fixed that before releasing the firmware.

yes and no, there is no memory leak, but the managment is worse. Ppl with 5.1.1 on Z3 are saying the managment os changeable apps got much better and for other devices too.
in my case battery is much better than on KK (about 2,5 days with "normal" use and display-on-time about 3,5 hours)
Why?
I disabled a lot of services, debloated the ROM and use Greenify, AppOps and a firewall.
And also important: i always close all recent apps before turning off the display
Which ROM?
look at my sig
p.s. photo quality is also worlds better
the worst action i took was uograding my phone to lollipop it seriously ruined my phone battery , heating issues , bootloops plus others so im waiting 5.1 to fix it as i called sony and they told me so , so never update your phone and listen to all these people telling you not you have a great stable firmware (kitkat) with xposed working flawlessly and those who told you to upgrade just got lucky and soon they will face exact problems
Firmware init + new SIM and always problems during calls....?!,?!,
Hi guys, I have just made the latest upgrade my ZL, but it simply doomed my phone.
When I switch between apps, my phone just have a black screen, and I can't change or do anything. Im simply stuck. Surprisingly when I get a phone call, I could easily answer and talk.
Also, the upgrade is a battery drainer, it sucks my battery like a black hole.
I really like this phone and very disappointed with sony for this upgrade. Is there anybody having the same issue,?
Do you guys know any fixes or solutions. If nothing will workout, how can I downgrade?
How did you upgrade? Did you do a full wipe?
I had the opposite experience. The upgrade did wonders for my phone. Almost no lag. App switching is very smooth and battery seems a little better. 5.0 was a lagfest. Seems like Google really dropped the ball with 5.0 (other 5.0 phones have had the same experience), but 5.1 is a different story. I'm very satisfied.

My ZL is flying with new .222 update. So far everything fine, more fast and smooth than 5.0.2. Just a small and weird issue is a gap between signal and battery icon, tried with gap fix from Z3 but no luck.

Hey guys,
Thank you all for replying. I don't know what happened but the issue seems to have been solved (although I still don't like this update, battery drainer).
I really don't know what happened. But I can know press the home bottom and the screen doesn't turn black. I still don't know what is the root cause. But it happened to me the first two days after the update.
Again thanks
Hello,
it's better to stay with lollipop and XCAM or go with MM? What are your experiences with this "issue" ?
I'm reading about this problem in several threads...
Thank you for response
Might be a common issue with G3 6.0 updates. Happened with my update a few weeks ago as well as others i have read. luckily this usually lasts a few days after which battery drain returns to as it was prior to the update. This was my experience, same as i i read with some others as well. Give it another few days. good luck.
Does the camera quality degrade in STOCK based roms as well?
My wife has same problem with cam focuse. She has 30c. My lg has no problem with cam i use fulmics 4.2 and also didnt have problem on 30b bumped. I guess its appear on v.30c and upper.
