how to update N920AUCU2AOI6 firmware? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note5

Hi guys. I recently received a phone and its somehow rooted(i think). It's firmware is N920AUCU2AOI6. Is there a way for me to update this phone to the official marshmallow? Can someone give me a link in upgrading this specific firmware. I found one here but the download link is dead. Thanks in advance guys.

Download the latest firmware from www.sammobile.com, also download odin 3.12.3. Install odin and Samsung usb drivers on your computer. After firmware is downloaded unzip the zip file for all your files. Open odin, put phone into download mode (volume down+home key+volume key, connect phone to computer, place all firmware in the correct boxes in odin and hit start, let the phone do its thing, first boot can take up to 10 minutes so be patient! if you don't understand my instructions just google it, plenty of detailed write ups out there. Good luck!

[Q] Samsung galaxy 3 stuck in on boot screen

Hi Guys,
Need your help.
My Samsung galaxy 3 is stuck on the boot screen. I cannot get into recovery mode but download mode works.
Some background info: The phone has never been rooted. It seemed to have slowed down a week ago . I had the screen replaced a month ago as it had cracked. I did experience some problems charging it 2 months back but a new battery and charger seemed to work.
I am not at all technical but will follow any straight forward instructions given by u guys.
My main goal is to get into my phone and its data. So please give suggestions which i can try which will still retain the data.
Many thanks 
If you can get download mode you can Odin flash the stock firmware. See my sig for links to everything you need, namely the firmware thread.

This guide will get your phone back up and running properly.
Easy and sure way to fix your problem - Here is s step by step guide:
Download the newest pre-rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 T999 Jellybean v4.1.2 rom: T999_UVDMD5
After downloading make a folder on your computer's desktop and unzip the
file using Winzip or 7zip so the .TAR file is in the new folder you just made.
Download and extract Odin into the same folder you made containing the TAR file.
Here is the link for Odin: http://d-h.st/Q14
• Download ODIN which is required for flashing the stock rooted firmware (a windows app)
• Download the Odin Flash firmware for T999 Tmobile then copy it to the same folder as Odin
• Run Odin by double clicking the Odin.exe within the same folder as the TAR file you extracted
• Turn off your phone and boot into DOWNLOAD MODE (Volume Down + Home + Power Hold until phone powers up, then release and press Volume Up to enter Download Mode)
• Once in Download Mode, connect the USB/Charger cable to the phone and plug into the USB port on your computer.
• You should now see a COM** port listed toward the top-left of Odin (under ID:COM)
• Click on the PDA button in the middle-right area of Odin.
• Browse to and select the Firmware you downloaded (TAR file)
• Make sure Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only options checked and that PDA is the only other thing checked.
• TRIPLE CHECK your settings and that you have selected the correct firmware for your model phone and are using the correct options.
• If you are using a laptop, make absolutely sure you are plugged in, or if on battery, that it is charged enough and will not go into sleep mode during flash.
• Click Start to begin the flash. This will take a while, so be patient!
• Once complete, in the top-left box in Odin, it will say PASS and the phone should have automatically rebooted.
• You may unplug the phone and close Odin if you wish.
• Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the system to boot the first time and then build its cache!
• (It may seem to hang during boot, this is normal and you must be patient!!!)
Good Luck!

Thanks for getting back to me. ~Sorry since I actually don't have a clue about all this technical stuff am just going to ask a couple of more silly questions.
so if I try this I should still have my data on the phone? i.e. contacts and pictures?
Misterjunky you said " Download the Odin Flash firmware for T999 Tmobile then copy it to the same folder as Odin"
is that the same instruction "Download the newest pre-rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 T999 Jellybean v4.1.2 rom: T999_UVDMD5"
:silly:

Odin flashing the stock rooted firmware will not touch any of your music, pictures and video, it will wipe
wipe all the apps which you have installed, but it's easy to get all that back using the Play Store.
Your contacts will be restore automatically by google after you are done flashing and sign into your
gmail, just be sure that you have either the data turned on or turn the wifi on so google can restore
your contacts, then go to the play store and install whatever apps you had before.
and yes, download the firmware and unzip it to the same folder on your computer's desktop which contains Odin.
once the firmware is unzip it will have a TAR extension as it states in the step by step guide.
pit partican file missing - with odin flash
thanks for the last message.
Just tried your instructions but its failed . its saying pit partition is missing .. where can I find this file. am on t mobile in the uk.

Updating without rooting

Hey guys, I'm not new here...new account, since lost my other account.
Anyway, I got a T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 replacement the other day, but unfortunately it came stocked with Gingerbread. I've been trying to update it with Kies to no avail. It crashes and gets stuck...the typical Kies story. I was wondering if there's another way of updating the firmware without actually having to root the phone. To be more specific, on recovery mode I know there is an option that says "Apply update from external storage". Is it possible to download a ROM, say the latest official T-Mobile firmware Jelly Bean 4.1.2, and then apply it through this recovery mode option, or will I have to use Odin in order for that update to be applied? If the only option is to use Odin, what would be the best and easiest way to go about it? I've never flashed a phone before and am afraid of bricking it.
Thanks in advance.
Information about the phone.

US variants have their own fora, your thread belongs here. I've asked mods to move your thread, sit tight until they do (might be a little while given what day it is).

I've downloaded Odin and the stock ROM, the only problem is that I am unable to go into Download mode, instead I'm only able to go into recovery mode. Which brings me back to my original question, on the recovery mode screen it says "apply update from external storage", is it possible to download the ROM onto my SD card and apply it through Recovery Mode? Or is it absolutely necessary to use Odin or Kies for official updates?

open odin first -then this
Yes, so 4 days later I was finally able to update it!
Since there was no way of getting into download mode the regular way, I had to trick the phone somehow:
1. I plugged it in.
2. Ran Kies.
3. Set it up to update firmware and allow Kies to set it into download mode.
4. Shut down Kies (including any background processes).
5. Unplug phone.
6. Run Odin.
7. Plug phone back in and start flashing!
I listed the steps just in case someone comes across the same problem Just note that I only did Step 3 because I knew Kies wouldn't update it, so it wouldn't come into direct conflict with Odin's update.
Thank you guys for all the help.

[Q] ?Bricked

Hi, I have a Fame, bought last December.
I followed instructions here to root it, which worked, and installed Titanium backup to wipe some bloatware and do the backups. I did not flash a rom or do anything else. It was working fine for several months until this morning. It had turned itself off while charging overnight. At first when I switched it back on it flashed "Samsung Galaxy Fame (model number etc)" a couple of times then died. I took out and replaced the battery and sim; and removed the external SD card, and tried again - it flashed "Samsung" once and is now completely dead.
Where should I go from here? Novice-friendly / idiot-proof advice please.
I have the Titanium files on my dropbox, do I need to do anything with them to stop them being wiped or overwritten or..??
Thanks very much.

Thanks, but I don't know what that means (sorry!). Is there a tutorial for Odin?
I tried the volume down+home+power button and got an option/warning to install a ROM or restart the phone, I tried to restart but got the flashing text again. Does this help /mean anything?
Ok, so I think I need Odin to get CWM, and CWM to flash a ROM. Correct?
I got Odin, and tried to get CWM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50518132 but I don't have the recovery.tar.md5 that is supposed to have been unzipped from somewhere? I did download and extract the files linked to on that first post.
The phone IS connecting in Odin mode but I'm not sure what to do next?
Last update for the evening.
I used this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446269 to create the .tar.md5 file. Odin confirmed it was valid and it loaded onto phone.
I used the three button reset, and pressed "cancel" to restart phone, expecting the black and orange as shown here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50518132
Instead I seem to have the original/normal display. Installed apps are still there but date/time is wrong.
So now I don't actually know what I've done to it!

[Q] Downgrading SM-T210 KitKat back to stock

Hi,
I made the the mistake yesterday to upgrade a perfectly working Tab 3 7.0 to KitKat, and now i'm having the stupid write-protected SD-card-issue. Also the new stock Video Player Samsung introduced in KitKat has a stupid new layout when browsing videofiles. It cuts the filenames files to an unusable format
Is it possible to downgrade the tab? If yes, is there any specific instructions for this, or is it just to flash it with the correct rom?
Edit: I don't want to root the device, because when i did it on the original device firmware i could not run the Netflx-app at all!
Hi,
I reverted back to 4.1.2 without problem.
Download a 4.1.2 firmware from http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SM-T210 (sry if I break any rules? just trying to help!)
Download odin 3.10 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451
Download Samsung drivers http://developer.samsung.com/technical-doc/view.do?v=T000000117
Install the drivers and extract the firmware so now you have a .tar.md5 file
Set the tablet into download mode, plug it into the computer, ensure that windows installs the driver
Open odin, select PDA and select the tar.md5 file, once it recognices the COM port start flashing.
DO NOT TOUCH ANY OTHER OPTIONS IN ODIN!!
After a while it will reset and most probably stuck in a bootloop. Hold power+home+vol_UP until it powers off. Don't releasse them yet.
Once it powers on again, release only the power. You'll be in recovery. Select factory reset, and now it will boot again, everything working
Regards:good:

Ok, so I have a p605 rooted on cnf2. I wanted to unroot the tablet and bring it back to the original factory state, so I downloaded the latest firmware and tried to flash it through Odin.
I initially looked on sammobile and went with P605XXUDOE2, which is the latest Netherlands version. I wanted to install Netherlands because I know it usually receives the first updates for Europe (at least that's how it is on my note3).
But I think the tablet previously had DBT CSC (for Germany).
I wanted to download the firmware from sammobile but the speed was very low, it would have taken aproximatily 2 hours. So I copy-pasted the firmware code and looked for another download link on Google.
I eventually found this: http://samsung-firmware.org/Galaxy-Note-10.1-2014-LTE/7n66-P605XXUDOE2/
It was downloading much faster so I went it.
So I downloaded it, opened Odin 3.09, opened the firmware in the AP tab, connected the tablet in download mode and pressed start.
The flashing process finished but at the end it said FAILED with red color. I don't have a screenshot, it had an error message which I forgot what exactly was saying, it was something about ext4.
I googled the error message and it says I should've had a PIT file to include in the flashing process, and check re-partition.
I searched on Google how to get the PIT file and I found a guide where it shows you how to get it via terminal emulator, with some commands.
I tried to restart the tablet (thinking that Odin didn't actually flash anything because it said FAILED) to try and get the PIT file, but now the tablet doesn't boot and it's stuck at the screen that I attached.
1. My first question and most important one: is it dead or it can be brought back to life?
2. Why did this happen? Is it because I chose a firmware with a different CSC then the one I previously had?
3. If it can be fixed, how?
Edit: it seems that the device is booting in download mode and is recognized by the computer. Can I just retry starting all over?
Can anyone tell me what firmware should I be flashing this time? I don't remember all the details of the firmware it had before, but I posted a screenshot on this thread with the previous information:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal.../how-unroot-tablet-bring-to-original-t3165171
Anyone?
