Unless you used Google photos and did an automatic backup of them, no, I don't know any.

It was clear that you'll internal storage will get wiped so if you haven't made a backup there is sadly no way of getting them back
Sorry

Hi all,
i have a problem: yesterday i realized that all the photos i made with the camera are disappeared, both from gallery and from DCIM folder that's empty.
All the other pictures (screenshot, whatsapp, bluetooth) are still there.
Unfortunately i didn't make a backup so i lost so many things.... :crying:
My Nexus is not rooted, it's exactly like Google made it.
Please help me....
How could this happen?
What can i do?
Try connecting the phone to a PC and see if the photos are there.

I already tried, but it's all empty from PC too....
Please, give me some clue, i really don't know what can i do....
All the data recovery software i found around require root for work with GNex because it doesn't support USB Mass Storage Mode....
But for having the root i have to unlock the bootloader and this would wipe forever all the data i want to recover.
Is there a solution?
I was thinking to use this procedure to unlock bootloader, and then have root, without wiping everything:
Unlock bootloader on GT-I9250 without wipe and without root
Can it work for my problem?
Is there some risk?
I updated it on 12/09/2013 and I can only see pictures back until that point and not before! I noticed it too late..
Man I tried every thing I could. ****, I downloaded the entire internal memory and converted it to VHD so I could run Recuva but still most of the recovered files are in huge zips and cant open them with any 7zip/winrar type of software. I downloaded other picture apps and they dont see it either. The SD card has it's stuff still there so thats not a problem.
I have been told its because the first roll out of 4.3 was bad and some people had issues. I want to able to downgrade to 4.1.1 but for some reason most of the methods out there are for people who have a non-stock 4.3 OS and not the OTA update.
Can anyone help me? I really want those pictures/videos back!
So, how can I go back to 4.1.1? It might be my last chance to get it right. I have Clockwork recovery and tried to put on the stock tmobile OS but it always fails via Odin and Rom manager. Phone still works. please help!

I tried everything. I do believe it's gone at this point. I recovered a few pictures that were half cut off with a professional recovery sw. Freaking terrible. Lost so much stuff. Never again I suppose :/

Take a quick look in data/media/0 or data/media/legacy
Easy way to tell instead of looking thru all your folders.
Is the space still taken? If yes, then it's there somewhere, if not, then they are most probably done for.

My sister asked me for help and has a galaxy nexus 4 g. She really only cares about recovering photos ( she never backed up ) from her phone and not so much bringing it back to life. The phone will not boot anymore. It is stock, unrooted and still locked. I can still get into stock recovery and phone still charges. When I plug into pc it won't recognize the device and I'm sure she never turned on usb debugging. If I factory reset it will wipe my sister's photos. I am asking for guidance or basic plan on how to extract her photos or get the phone to boot up normally without wiping. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Well it sound like a Soft-brick. I don't think that there are any other options to recover from this kind of problem without wiping everything off, at least none that I know of. Wait for few more replies or go to a GSM service and maybe they can help you. If not, just get the Nexus Factory Images and try to flash them. If the photos are located on the "SD card" partition, a wipe of the data won't delete them, as wiping data from recovery has nothing to do with the "SD". Another thing you can try is to wipe cache. If none of the methods from above work I am sorry but you will have to get rid of the photos.
PS: Tell your sister to use Google Photos, as every photo is backed up in their servers and she won't lose them
Hope I helped

Thanks for the response. After spending a few hours trying to figure it out for her ( My sister is not to tech savvy ) she logged into her new phone good news all of her pictures showed up which means she backed them up without knowing it.

Hello everyone
I would like to ask. So i have Mi 6 128GB variant and right now I'm having problem with the (i think) microphone. So the problem is when i place a call, the other side can't hear me, also when i try to record something the voice result will be so small, and i have to speak from a very close distance. And when using ok google i also have to speak from a very close distance. It seems the problem is not in the hardware. I bought it about a month ago, and when i just bought it i tried to flash to unofficial LOS ROM, the first one that appeared is the calling problem. So i tried to flash different kind of custom ROM, mostly LOS (because there are several version from different developer) and AOSP Extended. All is same, the microphone seems not functioning properly. And at one point i try to go back to MIUI 8.2.2.0. At that time i notice the phone displaying the message that the IMEI is lost. So i tried different kind of way to restore the IMEI mostly through flashing qcn. Right now the IMEI is back, but it's not my original IMEI, when i restore my original IMEI, the MEID is different from the original one, because i use qcn fthat i obtained from web, so maybe the MEID from the original qcn still intact. So right now i tried to flash the unedited qcn to see whether the problem is solved. But it's still same.
Any help will be really appreciated

Thanks bro, but i just realized that the real problem is the sticker that covering the mic holes! So there was a kind of warranty sticker that is stick to the phone and covered almost all the mic holes, and when i removed it the mic is going back to normal...I never thought the is the issue, lol

Hi guys I have a spare nexus 5x that is not my daily phone and I used at home sometimes, but it got the bootloop of dead error, this was a refurbished phone google sent me because the first died of the same problem, I want to recover my data, I have twrp but I'm unable to get it work because it bootloops after a few seconds, is there another way I can pass the data to my computer, maybe using adb? I believe I was not using the stock rom, not sure which one I was using but I was wondering if I can save my files.
EDIT: Found this link and this did the workaround https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/tool-bootloop-death-blod-workaround-t3819497

Were the photos still there when you flashed it? I'm afraid I'd lose all my data which is more important than the phone itself
