I have experienced problems with Wi-Fi not connecting to any spot after removing some unnecessary bloatware . (2 games 2 apps , using root in cleaner master )
I tried every solution to solve those wifi problems with no success so I understood I had to do a restore of my apps . didn't have any backup but I said "hey I have Dr. ketans multitool bloatware backup it may be there . -
restored - rebooted - bootlooped .
I said "ok , I have an old nandroid backup of mine . let's restore it .
one problem - I made a custom recovery . stupid me out of time rushed .
tried ...- no success . I said "OK , maybe there is a problem with a file in there . i'll wipe for a new rom in recovery (philiz) and restore .
tried ..- not even getting through the "N-7100" logo while before it booted till the SAMSUNG logo .
I haven't removed any of the backups I made .. I DID done a cleanup with root accessed cleaner master but I don't know if it had deleted any crucial backups ..
please help me . as far as I remember , my system was 4.3 MK9 don't know which modem (but I have it backedup) and I live in Israel .
PLEASE help me ASAP .. I don't want to lose my IMEI nor want to stay up all night waiting for responds since it's a daily driver and it's important to me .
EDIT : ben digging a little and found that I have my EFS and boot.img on external sd .so I guess no losing imei .
I got up into my brain that after my wipe everything got blown in the wind , so I'm going to try WanamLite rom since it is the closestto stock and (hopefully..) bugless and at better performance and battery life .
Hi all,
I know it might look ridiculous, but I'm still relatively new to this fun of replacing MIUI with software that actually isn't useless. I've done that on my own Mi Max a few times already, and time has come to now do it for Mrs on her new Mi 6. There's one significant difference that is currently troubling me. I unlocked the bootloader using the official Xiaomi way to do so. But How do I put a custom ROM into the phone's memory (opposed to mi max, mi6 doesn't have SD card support)? I mean where do I put it? And if I use the TWRP recovery to create a full backup of the device, how do I get it from the phone down to my PC? Is there a decent guide on how to do this somewhere? Clearly it's doable as a lot of people have done so, I'm just probably too thick between the ears to figure it out on my own. Will appreciate any help.

Can't you just use the cable that came with the phone to copy files like backups from the phone to PC? And then copy files from PC to the phone.
The internal memory of the phone acts the same way as an SD card.
TWRP should also offer support for this if you get stuck with no system to boot to or a bootloop so you can copy files to be used in TWRP.
When your phone is unlocked you should think of it more like your desktop computer. You have wider access and flexibility of usage.
Copy a ROM you want to flash into a folder like "Downloads" on the Mi 6 that has TWRP and follow the guides.
For ROMs that need the internal storage to be formatted before flashing just format and then while in TWRP copy the ROM .zip from PC to phone and then flash it.
I'm also wondering if it's such a good idea to mess with your wife's phone. If she gets stuck in a boot loop or something will she be able to fix the phone?
Just think of the issues that can be faced with custom ROMs and make sure she can get it working again if she needs to!
Thanks. The whole idea behind getting her this new Mi6 was to put decent software on it, so she hasn't even started using it really yet. She likes what I have on MiMax - Aosp-xtended - I just got stuck trying to figure out how to work around the fact that mi 6 has no sd card. Currently, when it's booted into miui and connected, I can see the contents of the internal memory, but the same is not true when in twrp - then the phone is still visible in Windows, but the folder structure on it is gibberish.
I also wasn't able to record a full backup of the current software using twrp, but perhaps that's because I only rebooted the phone into twrp without actually flashing it onto the device? Or is it because of encryption? Twrp reported it can't create a folder for backup under some path.

You need to change to a TWRP built with MTP access so it shows on PC when connected.

This one is popular and the Dev has added many features to make it more functional.
You can always fastboot back the old version if it doesn't work.
It worked, thanks. I'm on AEX rom at the moment, but it has some issues for me. Any chance we'd get Pure Nexus rom for this device, You think? What's the best choice in terms of stability and battery life? I don't care too much about tweaks and mods, the closer to stock android the better...

I'm waiting for my bootloader unlock.
Got the text but it still failed.
Then I'm gonna try LineageOS since it seems most stable.
Lineage is usually no fuss and compatible with most mods
On the flipside - I didn't get the text, but the bootloader unlocked without issues. Check that You have the latest version of the xiaomi tool - older one I used early this year with my own mi max didn't work with my Mrs' new Mi6.
Am planning to flash lineage this evening, but on mi max I couldn't get it to recognize lte on my carrier, while pure nexus and aex roms get Lte just fine.
On a related sidenote,is there a decent tutorial on how to start building my own rom builds? I'm a software developer by trade so I'm hoping I should get a hang of it if it's written up decently.
You dont need external sdcard support to copy ROMs to your phone. You can just connect it to USB and transfer the ROM-Zip File with MTP to the internal storage of your phone.
So guys I was flashing the new OOS build on my phone and I was thinking that staying Decrypted is the best thing right now because of 8.1 and 7.1 FBE and direct boots complications .
I flashed no-verity-opt-encrypt 6.0 just after flashing the OOS 29 but seems like the Data still stayed encrypted and BAM!
Now I lost my data because of that , I cant access TWRP now and the OOS encryption process got sick in start and it crumbled my /data .
so guys always keep in mind , If you want to stay decrypted dont flash OOS without your /data backup and dont trust with zip files for decryption . Just keeping a /data backup is fine
also the no-verity-opt-encrypt 6.0 zip was only working till 7.11 as far as i remember , just keep a backup and you are good to go .
Well sometimes that is why I dont like oneplus for not adding sd-card slot .
all this hassle wont be happening at first place

Tried that nothing happened... What if I download and flash oxygen OS? Will it fix the?
@up
I'm confused , did you do a dirty flash from another rom ? How is possible that your old pattern can be active in new rom . You should do a clean flash when you move from different rom . Just do a backup all your data and internal storage and do a format data in twrp ( not wipe ) . All your data and internal storage will be erased . After that install gapps and magisk if needed and restart to system
Not a dirty flash... But before installing a rom i wiped not formatted cause I dont want to loose data.. Looks like I got no choice
Hello everyone! I need some help because i'm out of ideas how to resolve the softbrick on my old phone. First i'll explain how i got it in this state:
So i have 2 meizu note 8 i don't use anymore (one with broken touch and lcd, and the other was perfectly fine), and because of boredom and covid restrictions i had the "brilliant ideea" to mess with them and update to android 10 with GSI treble roms. The original android was flyme os 7.1.6.1 EU. First i unlock the bootloader on both and installed twrp recovery. No problems so far , everything worked fine with flyme os. Then i tried to install gsi android 10 with twrp on one of the phone (the one that does not have the screen broken). I had an error with system partition not mounting , so i did a full format in twrp (cache, data, system, internal storage, boot, vendor) and then i managed to flash it. Android 10 GSI (Havoc Os) booted up but with problems : First i got a message right after boot "There's an internal problem with your device. Contact your manufacturer for details" then the config wizard crashed constantly, but i managed to finish the process and android is working (sort of ).The problem wich i called it soft brick is the fact that wifi, data sim, bluetooth, gps, sound are not working (not detected, nada....).Both IMEI are correctly recognized, but the basic functions of the phone don't work.
Having another identical phone with original firmware, i made a full twrp backup (21 partitions..with system, data, cache, modem, kernel, vendor ....everything) and restored it on the culprit. Flyme os booted up but with the exact same symtoms as with GSI 10. It seems i messed up somewhere so i reverted back to stock flyme os recovery and flashed the original software (update zip form their website). Still the same symtoms. So I went further and got the flyme os files for QPST / QFIL flash tool. Flashed it successfully with QFIL but no improvements. I suspected the modem firmware being corrupt and flashed it separately, but i just can't get it to work.
So any ideas? I have the msm partion table and trying to pull everything with adb root and adb shell from the other phone, and restore it back to the other, but got stuck somewhere....(i'm doing more research).
A short update. Apparently the persist and persistbak partitions got corrupted or formated by me (tho twrp does not have option to format persist). This partition is responsible for calibration data for all sensors and baseband. So that's why i had all these problems.
Right now i'm trying to pull those partition images form the other phone and flash them on the bricked one.
Got it resolved. Flashing persist.img partition resolved all my problems but the IMEI and baseband got deleted .So it was necessary to pull *.qcn backup file from the working phone with QFIL program, manually edit both IMEI within qcn file with HEX editor , adding the right ones, and then restore it in the bricked phone.
Now it's working as it should.
I'm writing this in case someone gets their phone soft-bricked like mine. Hope it helps. It got me 2 full days, researching and testing things out!
Hi, I got the same exact problem after doing the flashing using orangefox, all sensors and camera not working even after flashing the original global rom via Qfil. I have been looking for that persist.img file to help me fix the issue. could you please share the Persist.img file here? you will really help a brother
hi there! i have also the same problem... accidentally formatted all partitions in orangefox recovery, been going through all night in recovering my Meizu note 8 here.. i bricked it and been looking for a firmware everywhere, and now i found a flashable firmware through qspt, im getting the same problem here, i've been looking everywhere to where i can get persist image and qcn, im not sure if my emei is messed up though.. i really need ur help also... i need this phone for my game development progress
Hi! I need the flashable firmware of the Meizu Note 8 7.1.6.1G please. I can't find it anywhere.
