I have experienced problems with Wi-Fi not connecting to any spot after removing some unnecessary bloatware . (2 games 2 apps , using root in cleaner master )
I tried every solution to solve those wifi problems with no success so I understood I had to do a restore of my apps . didn't have any backup but I said "hey I have Dr. ketans multitool bloatware backup it may be there . -
restored - rebooted - bootlooped .
I said "ok , I have an old nandroid backup of mine . let's restore it .
one problem - I made a custom recovery . stupid me out of time rushed .
tried ...- no success . I said "OK , maybe there is a problem with a file in there . i'll wipe for a new rom in recovery (philiz) and restore .
tried ..- not even getting through the "N-7100" logo while before it booted till the SAMSUNG logo .
I haven't removed any of the backups I made .. I DID done a cleanup with root accessed cleaner master but I don't know if it had deleted any crucial backups ..
please help me . as far as I remember , my system was 4.3 MK9 don't know which modem (but I have it backedup) and I live in Israel .
PLEASE help me ASAP .. I don't want to lose my IMEI nor want to stay up all night waiting for responds since it's a daily driver and it's important to me .
EDIT : ben digging a little and found that I have my EFS and boot.img on external sd .so I guess no losing imei .
I got up into my brain that after my wipe everything got blown in the wind , so I'm going to try WanamLite rom since it is the closestto stock and (hopefully..) bugless and at better performance and battery life .

If anyone else has encountered something similar to this issue See the URL link below ! solved this issue
Evening XDA, *update**I think this is what the problem might be , will confirm later this evening after i get a chance to try it ** http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2332913
Ive been flashing my androids ever since my GS2 - never had a problem..Well maybe a few but nothing a few hours of google and xda forums hasnt solved.
However as of a couple of days ago I was on Alliance Rom v3.0 for The N7100 , I decided it was time for a change ( note at this point nothing was out of the ordinary )
I downloaded the Stock Firmware ( just to test out Al-lplay with my new blu-ray player , and to see how bad stock looks these days )
I downloaded the firmware from Sammy Mobile, latest one ect all correct model..blah blah.
Rooted the stock firmware using odin 3.07, followed by applying TWRP recovery.
I had the Alliance V3.1 rom ready on my EXT SD card - So as i would normally go about doing it i'd started to flash this new rom.
After flashing i'd noticed it didnt apply - the stock rom had prevailed !...so repeated the flash procedure again...it applied this time..... however I now had no signal ?! strange !?
Ive Never had any issue with flashing and losing serial numbers or IMEI numbers, so at this point it wasnt backed up ( stupid i know !, but over the past 3 years ! ive not had any problems what so ever ! )
I thought the best option would be to wipe clean, and do a fresh install of stock rom and root/recovery and flash again !!
Same problem...
This time I decided maybe there was a problem with this file, so tried another ROM
Applied fine, however same issue...signal but its not registering on network !?
Went back to stock...to my horror...not registering on network...immediatly thinking..how ironic that i didnt back my efs folder up..and this had happned, checked my IMEI it had gone to the temp IMEI that loads of people have reported that flashing had given them.
Immediatly backed up my EFS folder ( knowing myself that its too late )
Tried flashing , Wannam Rom, Alliance Rom v3, Project AOSP, all with the same results...no signal or not registering on network ! all these showed my IMEI being the default one not my actual IMEI on the phone and box itself !
starting to have a little panic as my phones my only means of communication ( par from my Mi-fi ) I wasnt even able to call a local phone shop to enquire if they repair IMEI ect.
As a last effort I wiped the phone, flashed stock with odin, rooted/stock ect and deleted the old efs folder and pasted the same folder I had backed up earlier ( even when it wasnt working then ! )...and to such relief....it seemed to re-apply the correct IMEI ! happy days !
however...im still unable to flash any other Rom as it seems to clear my IMEI
thanks for reading this long dribble post, im at work and having to come back and add to this, when i get a spare moment ( appologies for the spelling and gram)
but any help or checks would be much app'd !!
Ry2mkk
I had a problem once that made my phone not ask for a pin, and not have coverage.
It turned out the recovery I used was wiping a little bit to much, and took out the modem too.
I didn't look at the imei, but in "Settings - About Phone - Baseband" it said something like it's unavailable.
To get it to work again I flashed TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/115, download a Stock rom from samfirmware.com, extract both the zip and the .tar.md5, open odin and put the modem file in the phone field.
Then flash just that, onlu modem, nothing else. That made it work for me. And after I switched to TWRP I have not had the problem.
well, i flashed only the modem, but it still didn't solve the problem
i am the problem as his...

I rooted n5x by following heisenberg's method . Then installed elemental x. Installed many apps , installed adaway ,tb . The phone was working fine for 2 days . Today i decided to reboot , so i switched it off and restarted it and now it is stuck in boot loop . So i went back in twrp and installed elemntal x again , wiped cache and rebooted . Just once it finally showed android after the boot animations , starting apps and in an instant was back in bootloop. What do i do ?

go back into TWRP and factory reset.. if that doesn't help (it should) you can reflash the factory image and start again, or flash a custom rom. that should solve your bootloop issue.

I'm glad you got it sorted out, I cant say one thing for sure to stop future bootloops.. it depends on what apps were installed and what was removed with TB. also did you change any kernel settings? changing the wrong things can cause problems, I run elemental as well and I keep everything stock except the colour profile.

I had only freezed google and google now launcher with TB . could that have casued the issue ? I had not changed any kernel settings . And greenify and adaway were the only other root apps
Hey Guys , i used to daily drive Pixel Experience rom based on Oreo, but recently every rom i try ( after flashing it and rebooting it ) breaks the partitions of the phone ! I can use the phone with no problems but when i reboot to TWRP ) im using the latest one btw ) it give me error that the partitions cant be found and mounted .
This problem isnt rom especific , only ( not sure if its true ) exception could be older builts of Oreo Roms .
So every time i flash any 8.0/8.1 rom to me to be able to use other ones i must wipe DATA ( wipe phone memory fully ) and the flash any other rom i want , either 6.0 or 7.0 .
Never saw anyone complaining about this issue but if anyone have an explanation of tips i would be very happy and greatfull !!
Never had this problem.
Did you already tried to use
fastboot -w
Than flash miui and boot it and complete the setup. Reboot to recovery,
wipe system, cache, data and flash the custom rom of your choice.
O now flashed the last PE 8.1 rom from march and everything is ok ! So there was some recent change on the ROMs that caused this problem , im waiting for the new PE that is coming with new kernel and base rom to see , this is boring having to deal with this **** because aparently im the ONLY one having this .
Still dont know what is making this happening --" .
hi , posting this again hoping to get a permenant fix maybe !
here is the link to the old Thread
WHEN THE LAG HITS here is what happens in term of benchmarks :
-Antutu score drops very low .
-and more importantly the AndroBench Drops horribly low .. so i'm thinking the issue is with the storage
other infos that might help :
-booting into recovery (TWRP) takes ages ...
-Backup,Restore , Flashing a Rom , takes like 50x the time it takes normally .
the Fix that @bugmen suggested ( thank you so much for it dear stranger <3 ) is that i should keep rebooting the device until it seems like it fixed itself ...
after a week or so .. the issue started appearing again ... randomly sometimes once a month , 3 times a week ... twice a day , it's really annoying ..
no matter what i do .. flashing a kernel , updating miui , flashing custom roms , doing a full data wipe ... it'll appear again no matter what ...
no i just wanna know if there is ANYTHING else i can try or perhabs a final fix if there is any ....
pls help a brother out
Possible CPU problem - overheating. Check the CPU temp. and try without SD card ... Use Kernel Adiutor app...
Also possible reason CPU frequency can stuck on high. It happens sometimes (weird unknown bug). Play with kernel adiutor settings...
It can be also EMMC bug /problem/ corruption ... test it all ...it can be touch problem (like something is pressing), also check all buttons (vol/power)... You have really weird problem.
Good luck..

Yes possible cpu bug and emmc..try wipe all data and then click FORMAT data inside the recovery. Use latest orangefox recovery. After you pressed FORMAT data, go to manage partition then, format all partition One By One. After that is done, transfer any rom to your phone using usb(as formating data wipe all file inside your phone). Any rom will do but i prefer you use xiaomi eu latest stable version first before jumping to custom rom. Let see if stock rom got problem or not. Give feedbacks.
thank you both for the replay , like realllly thnk you ... i'll be busy these next few days , but i'll certainly try it ... thank you very much !!!

Yes it is safe. You might get lucky if your device is fixed today. But i dont recommend that first. Just follow all the step and flash xiaomi eu stable latest version 1st. If problem still exist, we will get through next step which is mi flash the latest version

Wipe its data first. Then format data. Its not the same, FORMAT data will delete everything on the phone. Its look the same but the mechanism is different. So just follow the instruction
First use OrangeFox recovery. Twrp also can
If you are using TWRP recovery, the images are as below
1)Wipe without wiping internal storage in recovery then swipe to wipe it. After it is done, go back to wipe
2)Tick one by one any partition, now select(Repair or change file system), inside click repair. After it is done, go back and select any partion again that can be repair, click repair again. Only few partion can be repair and has the repair option(only in my case). After all that done,
3)click FORMAT data and type YES
4) Reboot into recovery again.
5)Transfer any rom using usb and flash it normally
