Hi, sorry for bumping in.
Can you please assist me with where you found the ruu from?
I've tried the link above as well as firmware gem flash but to no avail (unable to subscribe to paid membership as no activation link was sent and no reply from support)
Thank you in advance for the trouble.

This is a rom for Asia-Taiwan region. If the radio is working well for you, you can continue with the same version, just download the nougat version from here - https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673791459329055285 rename the file to 0PJAIMG.zip, place it in the root folder of an sd card, go into download mode and flash !
Note that the file name starts with 0, not O.

Thanks, what I ended up doing was flashing my firmware to the newer "M9_1.40.709.8_NoWipe" then "M9_3.36.709.3_NoWipe" and then I changed my mid to "0PJA11000" and cid to "BS_US001" and flashed the Dev firmware "M9_4.30.617.12_NoWipe", changed my cid back too supercid 11111111 and then I updated twrp to the newest and flashed the dev rom, all is working well.....:good: so far
To flash your this rom "4.30.709.12" should I go back too M9_3.36.709.3 firmware and then flash this or do you have just the firmware for 4.30.709.12 to flash ??
Thanks

Do you really need this 3.29.118.9 stock recovery ?
Are you updating to lollipop 4.19.118.2 ?
If yes, after you download the OTA, select install later. Copy the OTA zip from internal storage\Download folder to PC. Open the OTA zip with 7-zip, you'll see firmware.zip. Open firmware.zip you'll see recovery.img
Extract out this recovery.img -- this is the one that you need to do OTA update.
I see your edited post ... read what I said about which recovery to use for OTA update
Can be Lollipop
ckpv5 said:

Thanks, for me Lollipop is ABSOLUTELLY okay, any newer version okay. I just do not understand just dependencies, what old/new versions can work,
so, simply saying: you suggest to take this recovery.img from Lollipop (which is newer one) then fastboot flash it over TWRP
then boot and all will be fine (i assume my phone will do rest of the update automatically), I tried to find, but had no idea where OTA's are stored
on the phone's card.
SO, WHAT I HAVE DONE:
1. I copied the OTA file using TWRP frm External SD card / Download folder
"OTA_M8_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_TMO_PL_4.19.118.2-3.29.118.9_R_release_41700614gu164aa4tc255j.zip"
(looks like the android protect this OTA FILE file, so i enter TRWP then copied it to PC)
2. extracted firmware.zip to PC (it need to be extracted to re-extract again - recovery.img)
3. I do: fastboot recovery.img -> to my M8 phone
So, the phone started again under android 4.4.4 and i started update to v 5.x
What to say: YOU ARE THE MASTER!!! , GOD BLESS YOU - stuff solved THANKS! A POINT FOR YOU.

No it's not an exe, it says it's a zip. Zip ruu's can be placed on the root of your external SD renamed appropriately and flashed in bootloader. Just do a little searching for flashing ruu via SD card method and it'll give you the file name it needs to be renamed to.

Hi,
I have an unlocked Australian HTC 10 (CID:HTC_039)
I've been running Viper 10 from Venom ROMs but sadly that's ceased development. So I'd like to switch over to LeeDroid (or even back to stock rom and root) and get the Oreo update. However as far as I can find HTC haven't released an RUU for my device. So I'm thinking perhaps I could use sunshine to s-off, then change my CID (though I'm not totally sure yet how that is done) and use an RUU that way to get the Oreo update - I should then be able to install LeeDroid as well with Oreo I think as the RUU will give me the firmware for Oreo?
I'm concerned that I could loose my cellular and/or Wi-Fi and other radios though? which would be a serious issue... I read about changing radio firmware - do I need to do this and would it break my connections? perhaps change the radio bands it supports?
Thanks for helping out a total noob!

Hey, there is an RUU available in the AUS thread. I changed my CID from Vodafone aus to WWE. The only thing you lose is VOLTE. Other than that I get good reception and data. Oreo isn't out yet for Australia so it all depends on what your really want to do with your phone. SOFF was well worth the money for me.

Thanks for the reply - Can't believe I never found that RUU... In any case I've used sunshine to S-OFF and changed my CID & MID to accept an RUU for US-Unlocked at the moment. But I can't find an oreo RUU where the MID and CID are known so that I can flash it to get the firmware updated and make it compatible with leedroid (based on oreo)
I've also lost cellular connectivity but that happened before I S-OFFed so I hope that's just fixable by formatting everything...

Ok I've done that (haven't done TWRP yet) and cellular is back!!
Thanks heaps - Will update here if there's anymore problems!
So for anyone following along behind it all works fine - although the Oreo update is basically uninteresting IMO. Probably staying on Viper 10 Nougat would have been better...

Once kernel source is released and we get a custom kernel things will be alot better with battery and customizations.
Here's hoping, although I've never used a custom kernel. Any recommendations for customising apps available for HTC 10 Oreo now?
Thanks for all your help

Hello i am at the same exact situation with you, being doing a bit of research on how to fix this. this is so far what i learned, flash firmware and flash oreo rom.
currently i am in S-on but i will s-off after i get the whole idea and correct file to do the firmware flashing, the thing is i still not sure how to flash firmware and where to get the correct file, or i have to change my cid and mid to find the matched firmware, mind to guide me in that?

Right now the custom ROMs for the HTC 10 all seem to be based on Nougat firmware - if you follow the steps I gave you you'll end up with oreo firmware - so if you want a custom rom don't follow those steps - just install it now using TWRP (assuming you are running Nougat at the moment)

Yes you can. You need to be on Oreo firmware for his ROM. you need to S off your phone and change CID, I recommend you follow the guide in the link above, debrand to WWE using RUU.zip. Just follow that guide step by step and once you have the phone running take the OTA to Oreo then flash twrp follwed by leedroid ROM
Edit: because you flashed leedroid rom then went back to Nougat you want have baseband but once your running Oreo rom it will return.

Wrong RUU. there is no RUU for WWE yet and that RUU won't flash unless you have Oreo firmware. So like I said follow the debrand to WWE using RUU.zip. the RUU is posted in that thread all you have to do is follow the Instructions. Once everything is done and you have flashed the RUU boot the phone up (you won't have radio) use Wi-Fi to take the OTA to Oreo. Flash latest twrp because RUU will flash stock recovery then flash leedroid ROM.
So steps would be
1: Obtain S OFF
2: Change CID to HTC__001, MID is the same so don't need to change that.
3: FLASH 2.41.401.41 RUU
4: Take OTA
5: Flash latest twrp, a new twrp was posted yesterday
6: Flash Leedroid.

Should be all good. After OTA boot the phone make sure everyone is working. If you want to after that flash twrp then leedroid. :good:

Yes. modified firmwares as well. As you took OTA to Oreo there is no need to flash any firmware.

You keep saying google every question i ask...
I know how to flash firmware 1.95 and 2.41
I haven't touch my htc 10 for more the a year, i just cant find a ruu file or zip file for oero firmware...
I'm starting to think there is no wwe oreo for s-on.
The only way is to get an update from htc after flashing stock 2.41?
I didnt get any update.

Yeah and that's fine because it works for me too. The Oreo will be there after flashing 2.41 ruu. No doubt about that

So your saying you flashed the RUU I provided and there is no OTA to OREO? That's strange... To flash the OREO RUU you need to be on Oreo firmware.
Oreo firmware for S ON can be found here

Not really funny. You should know what your doing before attempting to do something to your phone. At least it's sorted now tho.
