I just noticed that when i install the update for google maps 4.1.1 this app will drain my battery really fast. I have used it for aprox. 5 minutes and wihtin my battery comsumption info under settings it had used about 18% battery. With the previous version i had no problems at all. The same happend with google earth.
I also found this thread in google support forums:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/thread?tid=2a11fbd2ef43cf00&hl=en
Anbody else experienced this. Someone has a solution for the described probblem?
Right now i used to train my battery and discharge my phone before i go to bed.
But no way i would used it in the wild.
Uninstalling my be a cure to some battery problems people here seem to have.

long story to short - 1013 is a media server process.
I'm getting the same problem, how did you solve the problem?
I am having this same issue, different device, but this is the first thread I found with the issue.
Have you been listening to music?

Had anyone figured out what this is? I have not been listening to music at all.

Media is pretty unspecified, could be pictures, videos, not just music
I have it too on my Verizon s4, just installed Google experience launcher and new search on it today, hadn't seen it before... running bone stock otherwise. 4.3.
Edit, turned off ok Google listening... haven't seen it since, at least today.

We have got the same problem with Galaxy Note 3, stock rom, rooted. At some point in the night, this *overflow* starts to keep the phone awake and uses 40% of battery in less than 3 hours.
There is no widget on any homescreen.

Better Battery Stats or Wakelock Detector will help you to figure out what app(s) are causing it.

Unfortunately Wakelock Detector doesn't show anything uncommon. I deinstalled Spotify and Quizduell Premium, rebooted the phone again - and the problem seems to be gone.
This really is strange behaviour and Android should by now be able to find out those problems by itself. This reminds me of Windows, which after over a decade still struggles with problems and you have to install tools to solve them - or reinstall the whole system.
Hi, I know this is an older thread but I've been having the same problem recently and I tried to Google a solution to the problem and found this thread. I too have had high battery drain from Google Services. The phone is basically awake at all times. GSAM Battery Monitor lists *overflow* as the main culprit.
I have location services turned off and I turned off syncing of all accounts except for Gmail. I uninstalled all updates to Google Services and any apps associated with it. I have rebooted the phone multiple times. I'm pretty sure I've tried every battery saving tip I can possibly find and nothing seems to solve the problem. Every now and then I'll get a day of amazing battery life and think my problems are behind me; then it will go back to the same terrible battery life without me changing any settings or changing the way I use the phone.

Have you tried turning mobile data and/or Wi-Fi off when not in use?
Well, I disabled GPS for a while and left my phone with 80 percent charge. After 3.5 hrs I checked the phone because i wanted to call my friend. Battery was drained to 35%. I was wondering what could have happened. My battery is brand new and original. Then i checked battery usage. I noticed that the process "Google Play Services" drained the battery. I think disabling GPS does something funny to the wakelock of the process and keeps using the CPU all the time.
It has been already fixed in the last build
please check this link
user dec0der was finding the solution for bug,
Google Play Services 5.0.84 solve gps problem
Test it, and tell us if still happening
I don't want to go through the whole process of wiping the phone and changing rom or permroot, is there a way for me to troubleshoot the problem of bluetooth drain screen off? Ive uninstalled every app I can and had wakelock detector working at one point... is there a way to get root temporarily so I can use betterbatterystats and figure out what is draining the battery screen off?
yesterday I removed and readded the google account since wakelock dectector said google services was waking a lot, so far today no bluetooth in battery use list and seems better will monitor.
is there any way to find out (debug) which app is causing google play services to drain battery in background ?
apart from trial and error of course ?
I got 1-2%/hour drain from this thing alone. even when deep sleep is enabled
disabled everything possible from location access
This also interests me. The battery is unbelievably bad no matter what I do.
this is my usage today. tried taking out truecaller. same drain.
no way to diagnose this? even tried betterbatterystats
nothing unusual there
anyone can post google play services drain on s22 exynos?
Only by rooting the phone can you get the play services to doze. This would take care of the issue.
strange. usually this is a very low percentage/day for my apps.
dont know what triggers it to consume this amount of resources on the s22
try resetting cache/data / wiped cache partition , nothing seems to work
I definitely ordered the snapdragon version from wondamobile....
gsam battery monitor with better battery stats permission given will give some information at least about Play Services wakelocks
That is killing my battery also. But I dont want to root. any other fix ?
Best fix in long term would be an OTA update I think. Providing Samsung is working on that
I have the same problem after using the Universal Android Debloater recommended list.
