Discuss, the original genisys rom or the updated one etc. And why?

I'd be really interested in knowing your opinions.

With an unrooted and locked phone, I'm wondering what else you could use except original rom?

Why install custom rom?

Sony has professional coders. Every custom rom I have installed have had bugs. I want a stable phone without problems. I will stick with stock and rootet from now on!
Happy for you !!
Thank you!
I don't see for what you asking for. Your question is: "why install custom rom?" and in your thread you have answered your question already..
Because I'm open for other views and experiences.
because sony stock roms are buggy, laggy and full of useless cr#p that only about 5% of people actually want and use

i'm on stock... it isn't laggy and the crap you can remove yourself if rooted...
I agree. Stock is smooth and there are guides that tell you what you can safely remove.
Guys,
Surely it all come down to choice.
If your happy with stock, stay with it.
If you want to root and remove the bloatware do it.
If you wanna run custom Rom's flash em.
That's why android is the best mobile OS ever, cause you have the choice to do what you want.

Custom roms are just welcome while the authors are still alive!! So you can ask for a bug solution!!

Yeah, you have to wait. It's killing me too. However, I don't really want to be one of the first users of a custom ROM either. So I would have to bear it out for a few months. This may be the longest I have been on a stock rom.

There are still no custom ROMs or much kernels for this version and others because the bootloaders are sadly still locked. We have to wait and see if and when LG comes up with and official solution Or maybe someone else comes up with something.

It seems F400 is popular?
Locked Bootloader
It's been such a long time since I've had a phone with an unlockable bootloader... It is ridiculous that at this time and age we have an OEM that still locks it's bootloader hard...
Last time I had to deal with this was back in the Xperia x10 days... It still gives me the chills...
At least the G3 is a great phone which doesn't make me want a custom rom THAT bad... Unlike the x10 with 1.6 android rom on it...

Using any n910f MM rom?

Now that people are upgrading to the MM firmware and unlocked boot loader, is there a way to use n910f MM roms on our devices. from how i understand it , previously on 5.1.1 we had to use some sorta data fix to get working wifi and cell data.. now that we are on MM roms.. is there a data fix needed to use roms from other carriers (n910f) and international models. Since as of now Jasmine is the only rom i know of for our Verizon model on 910v . there seems to be a much bigger selection of other variants can be used.
The n910f series of true mm roms won't work as of yet. You would I believe need a data fix, but as of now no one had put one out. The say you can revert back to the 5.1.1 modem, and data fix. Data will work but not Wi-Fi.. I have tried a couple different roms, kernels and data fixes. Nothing worked for Wi-Fi...

I have tried several IF not all the snapdragon forum ROMS as well as the development section ROMS .. I will say there was one or two that worked and since I have tried them all pretty much I forgot which work. even with the MM baseband and modem BCP1 I think it is ... can we flash this on our 910V??

Using louforgiveno's data fix, you can use ROMs based on Marshmallow. It's possible for a Marshmallow ROM to be based on Lollipop, so you'll have to do you homework before flashing. louforgiveno's fix has been tested on the Noble ROM.
Wifi calling seems to be a big deal for some people. Noble ROM does not have it, and from the limited experience I had with using N910F/G ROMs, none of them do.
i tried F etc rom on V but not workable

Silly question

Hello everybody,
I just got a lg e980 from my dad, it's from at&t and it comes stock with all their apps and rom.
I do not need the at&t functionality because I'm on a whole other continent but it's a decent phone and I'd like to use it.
Can i just follow one of the rooting guides, root, custom recovery and rom? Or am I missing something here that will render the phone useless?
I'd appreciate help on it.
Thanks
Niamul

Potentially yes. Be aware that the guided to follow differs from which version of stock rom you start from. In any case download the kdz files and the flashing tool in case you need to go back to stock.

Starting from 4.4.2
Thanks heaps for your advice, I'll get the stock files and flasher first before I proceed
