After flashing Emerald Envy my phone does not mount anymore, and yes i uninstalled and reistalled drivers again, changed the port location, everything. Anybody?
Bad USB cable maybe? My stock USB cable will charge just fine but if I use it to try and mount my phone nothing shows up anymore.

Does your phone make the connection noise on the computer? If so go to control panel>system> device manager find Samsung Android as either Other or in USB and click it and hit update drivers and wait while Windows finds the 5 drivers it needs. I have 2 phones, all of a sudden one could connect and one wouldn't. Updated the drivers and now one shows up as F and the other as E..go figure.
Turn on usb debugging if it's off. Turn off usb debugging if its on.
I tried all of this and still nothing guys anything else?

Windows Update wouldn't get any of the drivers for me (Windows 7 Ultimate, SP1) so I had to install the ones that came with one of the OneClickRoot zips.

did this too with no luck.
I can't get my computer to recognize my phone and am starting to believe the phone itself is the problem. I've tried un-installing/re-installing drivers, everything on w7 is up to date, also tried a vista computer, and an xp computer. I've tried 8 different usb cables and all usb ports on 3 computers. Samsungs live chat was of no help. I tried 2 factory data resets on the phone which is a pain. Kies didn't work either. I've been trying to root my phone for weeks now but can't get past the first and easiest step. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

you mentioned that you used 8 different usb cables, one of them was the original usb cable that came with the phone, right?
Have you tried using Android Commander? I find it more reliable than using windows to transfer files between phone and computer.

Yes, I've used the original almost every time, just thought I'd try others just to see.

I don't really know anything about Android Commander but I'm going to be checking it out now. Thanks

I find using this app is much more reliable than dragging and dropping in windows.
Just at the title says. Yes i have tried different ports and cords. All drivers are up to date. All cables and ports work as they all work with my nexus 7. What am I missing?!?!

Try reinstalling drivers and reboot computer

I think some drivers have to be installed for viewing in MTP..
I have provided a zip file of Asus Android USB drivers... There is a folder named MTP... I think you have to install those drivers.. These drivers are compatible with XP,VISTA, 7..
Please confirm the working of MPT/Drivers if successful
I have the same issue.
Windows 7 only recognises the ZF2 once out of around 10 connection attempts.
I found that deleting the USB common drivers and re-booting Windows works for one new connection, but after that the problem returns. I think the drivers that are automatically downloaded are not very reliable / stable.
I find that if I keep unplugging / re-plugging the cable, it will eventually recognise it.
It's a bit of a pain to be honest and it doesn't matter how many different cables or different USB ports I try it makes no difference.
I just spent 20 minutes with this issue ... until I realized I was using my HTC USB cable. I decided to follow the most common suggestion and plugged in the ORIGINAL ASUS cable that came with the ZF2. Worked flawlessly.
Hope you have the same luck!
Ended up being something wrong with a quick charge driver on my mother board with this. Ended up reflashing BIOS and removing that and it fixed my issue. Talked to other people as well and a lot are reporting they have to use the cable it came with as well.

That's great to hear!
I also have an Asus board, but good thing I did not install the Quick charger drivers! I would never guess that as the culprit!

Please. tell me how to install Asus UDB Drivers from the Zip File on Windows 7
Did you had to reflash with adb sideload? or just going to the recovery mode and selecting hard reset?
The issue is a bit weird, it's not about drivers, the device doesn't even recognize that it's connected to a PC, tried different cables, turned on USB debugging, different OS's too (Windows and Linux), and the problem isn't with the PC. I clean everything in recovery and it didnt connect PC when using recovery too. :crying::crying::crying:

And this one is even more weirder!
Sometimes the laptop recognizes the device, and the other times, that is mostly, it doesn't.
I'm using whyred (Note 5 Pro), with Pixel experience plus.
I tried changing the USB cable 4 times;
Tried restarting the device;
Tried Restarting the PC;
Tried Installing google drivers; BTW laptop does recognized my Samsung Galaxy J7 prime;
Thanks in advance
LoL Win10 [email protected] working on linux and win 7 without problems.
Good luck!
whenever i try to transfer data from my phone to my pc even in file transfer mode it does not get detected. I tried using the offical drivers, using the workaround for MTP, tried a new cable and even tried on my laptop to no avail

Hello,
What happens in "Device manager" when you plug your cable in? Is it listed?
Good luck...
I was having an issue like this with my previous 3XL. It would say Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) . I tried multiple PCs and nothing worked. Ended up using my extended warranty and paying the deductible to get a replacement which is working fine.

all that is coming up is google nexus ADB interface, it seems like the drivers will not install properly. I cant get it replaced under warrantly as i had to get it second hand due to lack of money. It connects and windows makes the noise to inform its detected the device but no matter how many times i manually install the driver it does not work and windows does not seem to auto download the driver, this is something ive noticed on all machines I have
