Speakerphone - complaints on sounding muffled - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

I am on conference calls most of the day and my phone sits in the middle of my desk with nothing around it. People on the other end complain that I do not sound clear and a bit muffled. It comes and goes. Anyone else having a similar complaint? Former Galaxy Note 5/7 user and never have had issues in the past.

Speakerphone quality?

My wife owns an epic 4g and on speaker during a call, its like the Mic doesn't pick up well. I can set my Evo across the room on speaker and talk w the other person hearing me. Seems like 3 feet Max on the epic. Maybe w bought a Monday phone? Anyone use the et4 for speaker during a call? If so did you have an epic before and is this et4 better?
Used it in my car today on speaker and it seemed to pickup well, probably better than my last phone (HTC Hero). Neither of us were shouting or going "what?" every other sentence, but this was fairly short-range, haven't tried it from across the room or anything yet.
I just came from a Hero. I'm not sure if the speaker phone is as good. I had a call, put my friend on "speaker phone", and one of the first things he said was, "Where are you? There's an echo. I say something and a second later I hear it through your phone." I never had that issue with the Hero.
Cheers
Don't know about the mic but the speakerphone sounds a little muffled and distorts at high volume. I would say it is one notch below the Evo 4g.
Must be Samsung. They make such nice camera parts for the phones, speakerphone side could be improved. Wonder if the nexus s has this issue too

[Q] Lack of noise calcellation?

Hmmm..
First of all, I am coming from Samsung i9100 to this Google Galaxy Nexus.
I have been using it and seems it is not that buggy but fast and smooth.
One problem I am facing is the noise cancellation is crappy during phone call... (while SGS2 does it very well.) My friend talking with me can clearly hear the background noise. For two time I have request for a brand new phone with the reseller but the case is the same.
In term of hardware, it does have dual mic for ACTIVE noise cancellation. May I know if it is software (hopefully) or hardware problem? Does anyone have the same issue??
My device is facing the same problem too. The other side can hear the background noise, which can also be heard in voice recording.
Received 2 phones calls in a club last night, neither party had any problems at all hearing me. Although, I had a little difficulty hearing them.
do any one face the same problem ?...
Or just 2 of us here?
I've only made one call with my brand new nexus, but the caller did complain of background noise. I have to test more but this is worrying. Also do we know that this has a second mic? That hole at the top could it be something else?
I had a conversation on the train and the other party wouldn't believe it because off the good quality. Didn't do a comprehensive test though.

[Q] Buzzing sound from ear piece on a call

Hi
I recently got a Dinc2 as a replacement for my previous, crappy phone and I love it a lot! Much better than my previous phone. However, only one thing disappoints me slightly.
I hear a sort of buzzing sound from the ear piece when someone speaks when I make a call. Is that normal or a common/known issue with the Droid Incredible 2? Also, I think (though I am not sure) that sometimes this buzzing sound is less and sometimes more. I think if I hold the phone differently or gently the issue is less pronounced.
Is there any fix for this? I dunno if I am being overly picky with the sound quality but I'd like to eliminate this buzzing sound.
Thanks for your help, in advance.

in call microphone level

well, i almost have my note II for a year and a half now. and i started making more phone calls recently. at first people could hear me crystal clear. until there was an official rom update. after that time the microphone gain was low in conversations and recordings using voice recorder. now i have to hold my phone in my mouth while screaming for people to understand me. is there a way to adjust the gain on the microphone? it is not a hardware problem i think, cause when i scratch the phone it is extremely loud. but as soon as the sound source is more than a couple of centimeters or an inch, away. the volume drops to almost zero. i have noise suppression disabled.
allrighty then! fixed it, there was some oily residue stuck in my microphone hole, i thought it was the membrane of the mic. well, after I poked a needle in it, people can hear me again. hope this solution helps you all!

Vibration noise (buzz/hum) when making calls

Anyone experience a noise from the display speaker like a slight buzzing or hum during calls? It only seems to affect calls (not media) and only when my ear is positioned just above the exciter. MKBHD also mentioned this noise in his review. I went back to T-Mobile to listen to the floor model and it sounded clean. I also posted on reddit with other responding that their units had no noise. Unfortunately the store won't let me return it without charging me because none of the employees could hear the sound, or they said that it's too small an issue.

I've noticed the same thing, sometimes it sounds kind of like static, but the rest sounds like a mild buzzing. I only notice it some of the time on phone calls. Do you have a case on your phone as well? Might be worth taking the case off and see if it still happens.
