100% ... anyway I thing it is due to android 6.0.1 than samsungs tweaks
So far I'm loving this phone. I used to be a Galaxy hater, but this phone is amazing. Everything is SMOOTHER than butter, and I've got at least 10 different apps running right now.
Way better than the Note 5 was!

Exynos 8890 DRAM Bandwidth
I'm interesting is asking if someone may run the below DRAM bandwidth app in "Misc" mode using 2 & 4 threads:
Search for "RgBandwidth" in the PlayStore.
As you may all know the new Exynos 8890 has in it the internally developed ARM CPU cluster (the BIG cluster) called Exynos M1.
According to Andrei's below detailed article we should see a major leap in raw DRAM bandwidth due to a completely redesigned Cache Coherency mechanism:
"Samsung Announces Exynos 8890 with Cat.12/13 Modem and Custom CPU" - November 12, 2015 - from anandtech[dot]com
I don't own (yet) this phone, but I would be glad if someone could run this benchmark with both the S6 & S7 to see the difference.
Thanks
Pierdamiano
memory so far is enough. some stock bloatware occupied some memory tho.
Unfortunately they didn't fix the issue. If you start to use an app more (eg: facebook, youtube), the system removes other recently apps from memory. And this happens with battery saver disabled!
With built-in app battery saver, the system remove apps from RAM after few minutes/hours of no usage. Eg, if you leave your apps overnight, the next morning, most of the apps will reload. This happens only with battery saver on.
always seem to have lots of ram free, moreso than my other device the Xiaomi Mi5.
it about 3 yrs I don't use Samsung galaxy as daily phone for long time!
I remember famous gui problem called S-Lag on galaxies and also lots of news about new and clean gui
also I experience it but not for long time!
how RAM usage and freeing process works? without rebooting for like 10 days of heavy usage. (last long time experience with galaxy was not good )
but really like to buy upcoming S8... so need to know more
since the 5.1 update android has done so well on managing ram almost on all devices but i give it to previous poster about s lag
sammy im so proud of you and what youve almost become.
ram managment has improved so much more in the mm updates i cant wait to try nougat
damn shame between ram and core pros power it beats my pc into the ground
I have a 4gb ram honor 8 and it does out perform the s7, I own both in real world speed and battery life.
4GB is more than enough.

I hope this is a (bad) joke.
9/10, mostly satisfied, but some apps get refreshed all the time.

Really good multitasking
Mine does not free up memory while busy or asleep at night)
S8 8.0 oreo exynos
The multitasking seems great, it's uncomparable with the last years flag ships. Samsung started doing good optimizations to multitasking and now they are at almost the same level with HTC. Thumbs up!
Some phones exhibit choppy scrolling, especially when navigating long web pages when multiple apps are running in the background. Rate this thread to express how you smooth scrolling feels on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 under such conditions. The Note 7 has the same amount of lag as every Samsung device. It'll never go away. We learn to deal with it, even though it still disappoints me year after year.

Agreed. Not nearly as smooth as my year old Nexus 6P.
You guys are complaining about the qualcomm version.
Over here with an SM-N930F (Exynos) and can't complain. Very smooth scrolling performance.
Deliberately opened a long thread from here on xda using Samsung browser (NOT CHROME) and it scrolls perfect even with music playing in the background while downloading a file.
souds diapointing
I can confirm the choppiness not only with the browser but also the transition when switching between apps. I swear my iphone5s feels better than this brand new flagship from Samsung. I've tried to turn off all the animations and to no avail.

I've got a Tmobile Note 7. Mine seems to often not detect that I've tapped on something, and takes another tap or two to finally register. Other times, it'll be sluggish with scrolling, pulling down the notification shade, opening recent apps, and general on screen animations. The Samsung keyboard is especially bad.
The phone goes through almost no battery when asleep, so it doesn't seem like it would be something keeping the CPU active. This feels like either some sort of over-aggressive governor or some kind of conflict with data transferred to the new phone over Samsung Smart Switch.
I've rebooted multiple times, cleared app cache partition, changed animation scale to 0.5, disabled numerous Samsung bloat apps, nothing has helped. The issue started about a minute after I left the store, so it wasn't caused by any of this troubleshooting. Add this to the heat-up issues and unimpressive battery life when in use, and I am one frustrated dude. My S6 edge+ was leaps and bounds ahead of this thing.

yikes dude, your phone seems to have other problems other than the standard Samsung bs! tbh I haven't noticed stuttering while I've been using mine. Only problems I've had were with my back key, it took some time getting used to the placement and the capacitive touch buttons since I was coming from a phone with on-screen buttons. The only time I feel my phone gets hot is when I'm watching 1080p or higher videos while the phone is charging. You should try backing up important stuff to Google and then doing a full software reset and not use the smart switch stuff. I'll agree that the Samsung keyboard is not great I went back to SwiftKey but the screen size is something I'm still getting used to. I love that you can adjust the long press time to make it shorter on SwiftKey lol. Also Samsung browser is my default now just to test it out and I'm loving the fingerprint sign in thing for accounts and the ad block extension. Only good stuff so far
Exynos Note 7 reporting in - It's plenty fast and smooth so far.
Seems like the Exynos version is smooth while the SD820 is not as smooth.
Yup. Another exynos owner here - this is smoother than my 6P by far.

Said the same thing.
But one way to improve it -
disable as many bloat apps as possible.
Use a different launcher - sense launcher beta has made it much faster.
Use google chrome
My battery life has improved and things are marginally faster. But it is a crying shame that the nexus 6p, the htc 10, the moto z, and even samsung last devices (galaxy s6) are faster than the note 7 in the day to day.
It's ... unnerving

Can you please also state which variant of the note 7 you have rather than just say it's not smooth.

just perfect. Switching between apps is absolutely seamless.
This phone is smooth as hell when it comes to multitasking mate
Best multitasking phone on the market. You forget about the ability to clear apps from memory because you never need to do that.
Closes apps in background (like PoGo, Firefox) by itself, don't know why I bought 6 GB?!? Thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/help/auto-closing-apps-background-nougat-t3540286

Thats somehow the wrong question . The question should be, why this device with 6 GB is closing apps by itself? I think the discord app (chat application) is affected by this issue too, so I miss some (important) notifications.
And yes, I started comparing devices (by their technical data) more than half a year ago, when the battery of my HTC One m7 got really bad, and finally the best tradeoff did seem to me to be the Oneplus. So some of the not-so-good things I have been aware of, but others came unexpected. And I'm not the one, who sends things back he just bought, despite the time for sending back the device is over.
This phone is smooth.. in my case there are 18 apps in background without reload
Multitasking works very smooth. I can have like 15 apps open (some which are heavy games) and can switch back to them, without reloading. I also like the option to lock apps in the recent screen, so you don't accidentally close apps you need.
6 gigs of RAM is enough multitasking is a piece of cake

You can edit build prop and change background apps no to 60 or whatever suits you.
It's 32 by default
Ram stuffs aren't subject that requires attention, it's always smooth and reactive, even if the apps aren't backgrounding they open so fast I don't care about.

every post in 2016 to 17. 6gigs of ram was great for a phone at that time. not one says a thing about the crazyness of 6gb ram on your phone in 2016
Would you say that the Huawei Nova/Nova Plus is "fast" in day-to-day use? A higher rating indicates that you think the Huawei Nova/Nova Plus exhibits fantastic performance. Like, is it as fast as your tears when you watch The Titanic?

I have no cons about performance. It always been smooth and never lagged. SD625 seems perfect for me: fast enough, battery friendly and doesn't heat.
Good overall performance for sd625.. no lag + no heat= heaven
I have got oryginal software and updating in time. Last few months were not good for me on this phone. Slow down dramatically, sometimes lag without reason and many times I wanted crack this device on my knee because ultra lag. Reset to factory state didn't help.
I decided not buy Huawei device anymore in my life, because I don't want change phone after 1 year use.
At beginning phone work perfectly, now it's a trash. I bought The Xiaomi Mi A2 with 6gb ram and Android One project and I feel relaxed, everything works fine, smooth and I believe it will not get worse through 2 years. I know in my Huawei Nova it's also possible, because many phones still coming out with snap 625 without any problem. Xiaomi Mi A1 still works great.
I feel like Huawei want to force me to change for new their device...

That is exactly why am I here. I am trying to find a solution to this problem in this forum. I hope It will happen.
The worst is when I got lag when 2GB of ram is free and no apps are running...
I have found the topic in which there is a discussion about these performance issues:

Hi Guys
I was wondering how is the ram management, looking at some videos and post they was all in late 2017, now with a couple of updates and stuff I was wondering how the Pixel XL 2 fares in keeping apps open.
I was thinking of getting the Pixel XL 2 because I enjoy taking photos and the camera is amazing on the Pixel 2, my only grips with it is that I'm a heavy multi-tasker as well.
I've seen videos in 2017 that it struggles to hold 10 or less apps, but I was wondering with kernels and ram tweak, how is everyone with the ram, are apps kept in or reloading?
In my experience, apps do tend to reload but the device is good at reloading back to where you were in the app for the most part.
Running Flash kernel!
As far as I'm concerned, I've not experienced any slowdowns or multitasking issues with my device considering it has "only" 4GB of RAM.
You'll notice app reloads here and there from time to time, but that's not a dealbreaker. The same also occurs on 6GB devices, and even more frequently on an iPhone.
The phone feels very fast anyway, thanks to the very lightweight and bloat-free stock Google firmware. Less bloat = less wasted RAM for useless crap
There's no change, I'm on P and it reloads like hell , ok it opens really fast but it's kinda annoying. On ram management Samsung experience they did a really good job this year, the s8 that I have holds a lot of applications

Shame, I'm on the OnePlus 5T so apps don't even reload after 20 apps open. Tested it just now. Includes 2 games.
But the camera just seems so good on the pixel...
I had ip5t too , really good performance. But no stereo speakers , and the camera are deal breaker to me.
