I have looked around for a fix that will show the battery level in 1% increments....but nobody will confirm whether this works for the tilt 2 without causing problems. Should I just assume that if something works with WM6.1 it will work with 6.5?
Also, it is so stupid to not have a better battery icon...is there a way to replace it with one that actually shows a freaking number? I don't want anything fancy, and I don't want to install a pack that replaces ALL my icons. Anyone?
EDIT:
Just thought of this. Does anyone know how to change the colors on the top start bar, and bottom start bar in tf3d? I was thinking of wanting them both transparent, but that might make the stop icons hard to see....maybe just the bottom tranparent.....hell, I guess I could pick a dark background and make them both tranparent.
Anyway....anyone?
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-ariel-battery-monitor-v1-6-2.html maybe this would help? i've used it and it doesn't replace any icons. it stays at the top bar. you can move it to cover the battery area or just leave it by the start logo

Thanks a lot...I will check that out.
I think I would still prefer editing the built in icon...just seemed less "hacked" to me.

Not really in interested in flashing a whole new ROM just for this. The ROMS are nice, but none of them are 100% perfect....I don't want to deal with radio's....I don't want to deal with some of my keyboard buttons not working...I don't want to deal with getting some strange ATT registry setting back just so x or y program will run right.
The phone runs great now...just want a couple tweaks, not a full overhaul.

still looking for a way to get 1% increments on the stock ROM.

I probably went overboard....but if he would have read the posts he would have seen that we were discussing this in depth already. It would be like me walking into a white house press conference on the state of the economy and saying "hey...uhhh..maybe someone should try to fix it and stuff"
As for me ignoring the 2 suggestions.
1. I thanked the first guy but RESPECTFULLY mentioned that this was more of a work-around and not a fix. I also posted a fix to the first part of my problem in case he, or anyone else, was interested....not sure how that is supposed to show i ignored him.
2. The second suggestion was to a thread that the head guy didn't seem to updating anymore, which the poster stated up front as he gave me the link. I thanked him as well...and agreed that the thread did not have a solution for this issue...was never a **** to him.
Anyway.....I'm sorry, I shouldn't have reacted like that...I know he was only trying to help.
Back to the topic at hand. It appears the hold up on the 1% driver is that people are having an issue pulling the proper files from the tilt2's because of write protection or something......so looks like this is in limbo while people smarter than me attempt to help the rest of us.
Hi:
I installed the attached cab driver, and it seemed to work fine for me, with no side effects.
I found it with one of the Brian taskbars (gfreek edition), which by the way looked amazing, but the signal icon didn't get replaced with the new one.
Hope this helps

The fix you posted is for when the notification manager and the battery icon show values that are 1% away from each other. This thread is about a different issue, namely getting a 1% driver that works on the stock Tilt2 ROM. Thanks for the fix though; I think I have that problem also. I once saw my notification say 0% (when the battery driver was rejected) while the icon showed 1%.
Anyone out there able to find a way to invert the colors on the browser (or do the below)? Or make a "nighttime mode"? I know Cyanogen has included this on many roms and I believe it shouldn't be too hard (I am a programmer, just not android!).
My guess would be to find where it parses the page and perhaps do a ghetto rig by forcing the background color to black and forcing all text to white.
Thanks!
EDIT: pringlet recommended "Screen Filter" in the market. Its free and works perfectly for surfing at night.
I looked and didn't seem to find anything to change the color on the browser but I'm also using my phone to look thru the files so I'm shure it can't read some of the codes that are in the files... I'm a noob to when it comes to developing but if somone could help me out it would be greatly appriciated.

Although purely speculative, do you know where it actually parses HTML? If so, perhaps it is possible to replace "</head>" while its parsing with the following instead:
<style>
body { background-color:#000000; }
</style>
</head>
--------
If that works to change the background then we can work to change the text color.
I would also love to see an inverted browser. I think there was a thread about this in the vibrant forum as well.

It would most likely have to be a script, in between the browser code and the webpage code that would change default colors. No clue how to do it though

It's a 'black' version of google (incl. search results) that is supposed to save energy. I've heard of ppl using it on their mobile devices with AMOLEDs to save battery, but they don't have a mobile version.. and it's kind of a pita.

One more off topic post: thanx for the tip, works fine for me.
Now on topic: web pages in black would be nice but might be a tough one to pull off. I am hoping for it of course, anyway to save power on these battery hogs is a plus. Nothing seems to suck power more than surfing the web.

Not sure if it helps save battery, but check out a program called "Screen Filter" (free in the Market). It effectively reduces the brightness of the Epics screen by applying a darkish tint to the display. It works great and has made the bright screen very useable during night use.

If you have a rooted phone, you can try the solution in my signature which does basically what the OP said: parses the page and changes background colors to black and text to white (or light gray, which I prefer).
Right i know there is a thread regarding battery stats. That is were everyone post their stats and basically each member show off their battery life and show off to people how much screen on time they can get.
What i want to do with this thread is the opposite. I want to help people who have issues with regarding poor battery life to post here there problems, to post information on their setup and were they think it is going wrong as to why they have poor battery life.
Rather than posting these issues on each individual thread all over the forum why not just keep it in one place. So that myself and hopefully more experienced members can help out others who have issues as in regarding the battery life and try to see for example what app keeps the phone awake while phone is suppose to be sleeping and try and guide members on how to resolve their issues and give them the battery that they are suppose to have.
I will try and do most of the helping and provide links to threads for example the BBS thread were you can download the application and find out what wakelocks you have and post your screenshots here of the app so we can see where the issues lie.
I am doing this to help and to keep the forums clean and organised and to keep the development threads less cluttered with battery issues. If you have those kinda issues then come here and i will try my best to help out.
If Mods feel that this thread is pointless then please close the thread. But i hope you understand my logic behind this thread and my goal to help out people were they need it.
Thanks to you all and thanks to all the developers who take their time to provide us with something amazing for our phones and to the Mods who keep our threads in order
BetterBatteryStats Explanation
Right here is were i will explain how BetterBatteryStats works. I know i do not have my phone back so it is kinda hard to post screenshots with explanations on how to work the app but will try my best to explain without it.
First of all here is the link were you can find the application:
BetterBatteryStats Thread
Apart from Titanium Backup for me BBS is the next must have application for your android phone and especially for the One X. Thanks to this application i have learned a lot in my time here on XDA on how to sass out what keeps the phone awake and what to do on how to go about fixing the issue and stoping the wakelock from happening.
Now i am thankful for more experienced members and kernel developers who take their time to explain on the different threads on what are the wakelocks and what issues they can cause. One of them is the dreaded AudioOut3 wakelock. That is caused by having keypad tones on, which is ticked in sound in settings and also lockscreen sounds and dialpad touch sounds on. By disabling those you save yourself massive battery time. To give you an example of what i mean here is an explanation:
*AudioOut_1 AudioOut is used to play notification and system sounds. Putting your device on silent or at least unticking in settings-sound and untick the following:
Touch keypad sound
Lockscreen Sound
Dialpad Touch Tone sound
This will make the wakelock go away. (thanks to Sishgupta and his thread is here for more info)

To follow more on a detailed basis regarding BetterBatteryStats is at the following link here when you can get connected to the wiki site
Link:

Other issues that i found out that drain my battery is keeping Facebook on all the time and twitter as well. I would not recommend either to have on at the same time but if i was to choose which one i would like to keep constant notifications would be Twitter.
But my advice would be to once you finished from checking your Facebook stuff to log right back out straight away. Cause the connection will always be connected and that makes the phone to stay wake even when phone is in deep sleep
*Another thread that a few other members have unfortunately encountered wakelocks similar to what i have just posted here and they just go about explaining what they have done to encounter those wakelocks and stop them. These wakelocks again are the facebook and audioOut. Thread link here
*Deleting your battery stats in recovery. Do not do that. Does not improve battery at all. Bare fact it does not do anything actually. You can find more on this here.
Battery stats, stored in the batterystats.bin file, are only used to maintain information about what is using the battery when not recharging. That is, it essentially holds the information displayed in the Settings > Battery screen. Nothing more, nothing less. Thus:
It has no impact on the current battery level shown to you.
It has no impact on your battery life.

very funny. no just untick in settings -sound and untick touch keypad sounds- lockscreen sounds and dialpad tones. use haptic feedback instead and use notification tones and normal ringtones. that way trust me you shall see that you will have very minimal audioout wakelock

Yes and did you check how much relevant difference such a wakelock makes in battery percentages? Now, trust me, <2% for a whole 24 day cycle. Thus, irrelevant

I beg to differ. It could be depending on what kernel you may be running or not but i have encountered massive drainage specially overnight due to this wakelock. And unfortunately the only way to beat this is to do as stated not just by me but also in the wiki thread
Some kernels you do not have that wakelock but on some you do.. I am still trying to build this thread up as i feel it has potential and gives more of a heads up to people out there what causes the battery to drain.
Only doing this as to help out noobs who just bought this phone. I want them to know what causes the issues they might face. If the phone of a user is set up properly and as you know yourself if you have it setup the right away you can get amazing battery life. So this is the idea behind the thread. To help out others

so once i get my phone back i will be doing the following from a fully charged battery. One to try and cause whatever wakelock i can specially the facebook one and the audiout one. Two on a second cycle i will do the following steps mentioned above and show people the difference that those steps can make and how much difference in battery i have saved

Instead of having a mod for the icon in notification bar, how about is downloading a widget that does one percent for instance battery life widget by curvefish.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
I'm going to claim some ignorance on this one. I don't quite understand what you're looking to achieve. As far as I know, at least on stock roms, you just go into the battery, maybe display settings, and change the battery meter to give % instead of a bar meter. On stock, it moves in !% increments.
When you use a non Stock battery image it won't display right unless you have a 1% mod.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS APP IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED AS OF 12/31/2013. FEEL FREE TO CONTINUE USING IT BUT AS IS AND ON YOUR OWN. THANKS.
erikalin - stock app
No more longing for stock apps that the ROM developer removed as bloatware but you really love...
No more explaining to users how to pull a file out of that stock ROM and push to system...
No more needing to include those extra stock apps you really would rather not keep in your ROM...
One person's bloatware is another person's beloved Yahoo stock widget...
This is a lightweight app that has a simple UI in which users can go get whatever stock apps they want to download from my repo and push back into the custom ROM they are running. The app also has a Help tab that leads to a noob-friendly video help file 2:30 minutes long, which demonstrates how to download any stock ROM apk file from the repo and push it to system/app/, set permissions, and reboot.
INCLUDING THIS APP IN YOUR ROM BUILD
Permission is given for anyone to include this app in a ROM. You do not need to ask me in advance; just let me know. Here is how to do that. If you include this app in a ROM please do two things for me in return: (1) Post a link to your ROM here on my app thread to say you have included this app, and (2) Post a link to this thread in your OP with other credits.
Please keep in mind that I cannot provide support other than for the functionality of this app: a stock file repo and basic instructions for how to push apps into the system partition. People should continue to post ROM questions on the appropriate thread for that ROM.
Do not link directly to my file repo or my youtube video that is attached to this app. You can use this app, but please do not use the pieces I have hosted and created for this app. If my traffic log indicates that this is happening, I will have to take the files down.
Keep in mind that I do not monetize on youtube, so view counts mean nothing to me. And I am hosting all files for your use without any ad support. "Click through to the thanks button" is appreciated.

Hey bud, ROM is not released yet. This is just an app I made to put into build-a-rom when I release, but I am sharing the app because if people check it out, they'll probably realize they want to bake it into their ROMs as well. Your feedback helped - made me realize that I needed to do this for what I'm putting together. Also, when I do release build-a-rom, you'll be able to keep your data and flash over the test build.

If you guys would want to include this app in your next deodexed ROM versions, go ahead and use it. Just give a link to this thread. I did theme this according to my own project, with the neon green on black. If you want, I can make a few versions themed to your colors. Specifically, where you see green on black in the app's landing page as well as the icon, I can make that whatever on whatever. Black on buttons and app icon could be transparent, but I do like my main background image in the app - it's a darkened screenshot from stock GB7 TW homescreen. Subtle, but pleasing because of the function of the app... but the neon green-on-black color scheme I could change for you easily enough. If you would like this, let me know your hex codes.
I'm going to wait to see whether I get some feedback to help decide if I should make a revision or if it's good out of the box. Fifty downloads so far, which surprises me for a little app on this thread. Either way, I can make a few versions themed for you... we are small in number in the ghostly E4GT forums... And seriously, I've got this handset for another year. If you do not want to include it or don't like it - no offense - just offering/sharing.
Who's gonna be first? Just kidding, looks good.
Edit: Really liking this, great job. Simple and useful at it's best.
Nice no more needle in a haystack search we like simplicity!!!
Very cool. It should be noted somehow that preload files will have to be dropped into system/app to prevent confusion because they will not run by themselves without a symlink. Two very nice apps in one day. This one and the repository app.

Anyway...
Today in between doing my real work I've also been thinking about how to improve this thing. 90 downloads in one day? Of my little app? In our quiet little forum? I'm glad people are checking it out, so I'll do right by it. I have some initial ideas:
(1) Theme in a few different colors, build them and name them by color scheme. I'd be theming the font color, buttons, and the app icon's colors. Like I said, I do like my app background image so that's staying. Darkened screenshot of stock JB, it makes sense. If anyone says there's interest, I'll make a few different color schemes for v.2. Give hex #s if you want. Honestly, I'm not at a loss for how to spend my time, so if there's no interest I'm fine with my just using original color scheme.
(2) Make sure to clarify push apps to system/app/. Thanks again, td, for reminding. I'll reword the main activity page's description and it will be clear.
(3) Verify that bluehost.com really means unlimited storage and bandwidth for my hosting accounts. I do have several websites on that account, and since I'm now using one of my extras for putting E4GT files on... I can't let it put my regular websites at risk. I will investigate though. If I can host more stuff legitimately with my account, I will consider suggestions for how I might add to this app. I am no expert in java, but can probably handle tabbed navigation, or swipe screens, to different purposes. I will think about this, and consider ideas. The beauty of it is that it will add almost nothing to the weight of the app itself, because all resources are accessed via browser, youtube, whatever. To be clear, I do not want to recreate bilgerryan's fine work with the one stop shop. That's not happening. If I expand on this it will be within parameters... Might just fine tune and keep it the simple app I intended it to be too.
(4) Who is downloading this thing? Lol. You 90+ people, please give me quick feedback. :good:
Edit: I just saw this:

Lol... And Go Coast Guard, my sailor brother. Did we not have this conversation? Five armed forces in the U.S. Five. I get my 10% off at Lowe's like every other veteran.

Sorry shipmate. I could not hold back any longer. Sorry Now I need to play around with this some more. Some fine tunning. I am toying with trying the toolbox app. Would this work with "JV"?

You're playing around with the test build of my ROM, and putting in the apps that you want. Just my app here? It works for any deodexed stock GB27 TW ROM, of which JV is one. The app is essentially a file repo - all the stock ROM apps. You like the inverted and themed apps, so you probably wouldn't need this app of mine. It's just a way to get stock apps that are missing from any one custom ROM, without a developer having to keep a bunch of the stock apps in the ROM. Win win. I might add to this app somewhat, or I might make a second app with other ideas, both apps being made primarily for my build-a-rom project.
ROM Toolbox ("RTB") is, I think, one of the most valuable apps out there. It's good to use with any ROM and has a lot of useful features.
