I have looked around for a fix that will show the battery level in 1% increments....but nobody will confirm whether this works for the tilt 2 without causing problems. Should I just assume that if something works with WM6.1 it will work with 6.5?
Also, it is so stupid to not have a better battery icon...is there a way to replace it with one that actually shows a freaking number? I don't want anything fancy, and I don't want to install a pack that replaces ALL my icons. Anyone?
EDIT:
Just thought of this. Does anyone know how to change the colors on the top start bar, and bottom start bar in tf3d? I was thinking of wanting them both transparent, but that might make the stop icons hard to see....maybe just the bottom tranparent.....hell, I guess I could pick a dark background and make them both tranparent.
Anyway....anyone?
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-ariel-battery-monitor-v1-6-2.html maybe this would help? i've used it and it doesn't replace any icons. it stays at the top bar. you can move it to cover the battery area or just leave it by the start logo

Thanks a lot...I will check that out.
I think I would still prefer editing the built in icon...just seemed less "hacked" to me.

Not really in interested in flashing a whole new ROM just for this. The ROMS are nice, but none of them are 100% perfect....I don't want to deal with radio's....I don't want to deal with some of my keyboard buttons not working...I don't want to deal with getting some strange ATT registry setting back just so x or y program will run right.
The phone runs great now...just want a couple tweaks, not a full overhaul.

still looking for a way to get 1% increments on the stock ROM.

I probably went overboard....but if he would have read the posts he would have seen that we were discussing this in depth already. It would be like me walking into a white house press conference on the state of the economy and saying "hey...uhhh..maybe someone should try to fix it and stuff"
As for me ignoring the 2 suggestions.
1. I thanked the first guy but RESPECTFULLY mentioned that this was more of a work-around and not a fix. I also posted a fix to the first part of my problem in case he, or anyone else, was interested....not sure how that is supposed to show i ignored him.
2. The second suggestion was to a thread that the head guy didn't seem to updating anymore, which the poster stated up front as he gave me the link. I thanked him as well...and agreed that the thread did not have a solution for this issue...was never a **** to him.
Anyway.....I'm sorry, I shouldn't have reacted like that...I know he was only trying to help.
Back to the topic at hand. It appears the hold up on the 1% driver is that people are having an issue pulling the proper files from the tilt2's because of write protection or something......so looks like this is in limbo while people smarter than me attempt to help the rest of us.
Hi:
I installed the attached cab driver, and it seemed to work fine for me, with no side effects.
I found it with one of the Brian taskbars (gfreek edition), which by the way looked amazing, but the signal icon didn't get replaced with the new one.
Hope this helps

The fix you posted is for when the notification manager and the battery icon show values that are 1% away from each other. This thread is about a different issue, namely getting a 1% driver that works on the stock Tilt2 ROM. Thanks for the fix though; I think I have that problem also. I once saw my notification say 0% (when the battery driver was rejected) while the icon showed 1%.

Well I have searched and searched and can not seem to figure out how to disable the service led without disabling all the functions of ALLledmgr. Of course that works but that means vibration and a number of other things. Someone had mentioned the nled reg entry hack tried that no luck. I have looked through countless dlls and files for any reference that might come close to disabling the service led but I just cant seem to find it. So many other phones(cheap phones) let you disable it why cant this one?
I remember back to a simple hex edit on my motorola that could do many things we even had script files that could change the leds colors etc and do crazy things on boot etc(that was linux of course).
So any of you pros out there came across anything that might be related to the service led?
i love the service LED's if it werent for them i wouldnt like my TyTN as much .. they really mean that much to me
sadly we're not in the good ole' motorola days (that was bliss) but i have the perfect soloution! :
Get a black permanent marker, and colour in the Service LED
et voila!! it no longer flashes and you still have vibrate, sounds etc ...
LOL
That´s was a really tip problem solution !!
Service LED does not bother me at all.
Or gently mash it with a sharp knife or screwdriver. (same solution for that silly light/speaker on cars that warn you to put a seatbelt on)
Maybe I wasnt clear about what I wanted. When I meant service led I meant that it just constantly flashes green to tell you that you have a signal. I want my leds to work, but the way I want them to. I want them to flash when I have a missed call or unread message etc. I just do not want it to constantly flash green in a service area Im always in a service area.
Many of you laugh of course and say it doesnt bother you etc. But I bet that when it is figured out where and how it is access and then being able to customize it change its colors etc, those who laugh will also be among the people using those nifty custom leds(blue for bluetooth, green for message, orange for missed call etc. So try and support the idea instead of laughing at it.
For me seeing that green flash over and over is just a constant reminder of something I can not customize on my super customized phone.

The first one you posted seems to e 3.0 the second 2.1, ill try it to see whats the difference but 3.0 works fine even when charging except it gives you a flashing orange led instead of constant on led, letting it charge to full and see what happens. Yes please post any versions you have so I can try to see the different modifications they are doing between them.
I can see that it is simply using a mort script to scan the notification que for changes and using the treo exe to make modifications. Im in the process of decompiling the treo exe to see what mods can be made.
My concern here(which may be a retarded one so small) that you have a fight going on with the phone constantly telling it to do one thing and the mortscript and treo exe telling it to do something else. I can see that mortscript is using about 3%cpu cycle every 5 seconds or so. Not sure if that is going to impact battery usage or not, but my end goal would be do away with the fighting and just having the os do what its supposed to do.

No I have not done anything at all since it is already functional, what I am currently looking into is the other three leds that we have and what can done with them. Im also trying to figure out more info on our leds, if they are only tri color, etc and if its possible to get our two green and red phone leds blinking as a notification as well, but I am pretty sure those two leds are controlled together as on or off and probably cannot be controlled individually, time will tell.

Did this work on HTC Artemis (o2 Orbit) too?
Thank you!
Just a quick note of thanks to CodyPPC for the link!
That damned service light has been annoying me for months - I've taken to putting the phone in a draw / turning it upside down to stop the flashing annoying me when trying to get to sleep in an otherwise totally dark room!
This was the 1st site to come up on a google search - and am really impressed - cheers!
I'll send thanks to the devs on the other forum as well.
It looks like you're looking to enhance/fiddle with this further - controlling the LED's in various ways - - have you made any progress? are you in a position to share any code (compiled/source) or tips? I just want to dabble - have no real goal in mind - -- - the main thing is no more flashing green!!! woo!
Not sure if this or these will come as part of a widget but posted in here.
I've seen loads of pics of peoples phones with the current date, time and battery charge in words instead of numbers. Some look really nice.
They appear when the phone is unlocked and also on the lock screen.
Can anybody point me in the direction of either the widget(s) or whatever i need to get those on my phone.
Cheers
Carl
Battstatt and Tajm are the only widgets that i can think of that resembles your description.
Thanks. They look like the ones i've seen on various peoples phones pictures.
Tried both these apps and while they are nice and exactly what i was looking for they don't update. They seem to get stuck on either a past time or in some cases the time was in the future!!. The battery charge one also got stuck on an incorrect percentage.
Shame as they are very nice.

Doesnt matter, i dont run a taskmanager at all and they still dont update. I emailed the developer and he said it was a problem with cyanogen roms. I dunno, shame cause they are nice.
My first post...been lurking around for a while.
I feel like this would probably be pretty simple for someone who knew more about what to do.
I tried flashing the zip, then tried using reframe.sh (through android terminal emulator) to reboot into just the framework, then tried editing the framework-res.apk by adding files and moving files to match other Froyo framework-res.apk files...but all of those things failed.
I didn't really anticipate my actions would have the desired effect, but I was trying.
I don't know what would have to be done. If it's simple and someone would be willing to update this for Froyo, I'd appreciate it. I think some others would as well.
In addition, if anyone could point me in the direction of some learning material for this kind of stuff, not just how to theme but also maybe some development guides for beginners, I would appreciate that as well.
Then I could just do this type of thing myself in the future.
Here's the link to an xda thread with WhiteMochi v0.003: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=843204

Do you want the lockmod installed along side?
What exactly do you mean by the lockmod?
My current rom uses the AOSP lockscreen by default so it shouldn't be an issue, right?

I meant maddoggins lockmod for EC05. It includes 6 different locks.
Oh, no. I tried to install it but was having issues getting it to work.
The one straight from the lockmod thread didn't work (FC when trying to view Lockscreen Settings), I found a working version in the framework included with the Nebula rom/theme but didn't like the status bar.
I was under the impression the WhiteMochi just used the AOSP, or were you asking for another reason?

Haha I can make you a version of nebula with a different colored notification bar if you'd like.
I'm sure it uses the AOSP lock. I was just asking if you wanted me to implement the 6 lock.
If you could get the 6lock in with the Mochi that'd be sweet, but it's not necessary for me.
Would be a huge plus though, hahah.
Still looking for anyone willing to possibly port this over to Froyo/SRF.
I'm mainly just looking for a white status bar without a gaudy notification pulldown and attractive icons.
I tried FrostPort v1.2 but personally disliked the status bar icons (all of them).
I noticed that the Galaxy Prevail (the new prepaid Boost Android phone) has a nice white framework, so even a port of that would be killer.
I read up on theming and I have a basic understanding of what to do, it doesn't seem overly difficult. Only issue with me is that I work 5-6 days a week long hours so I don't always have time to devote to studying up/getting in practice...especially as of late.
I have two days off coming up which I'll most likely wind up devoting the bulk of to learning how to theme (devoted my last two days off to my phone as well...don't know how to feel about that).
In the meantime, however...once again...if anyone is up to the task, have at it. I would appreciate it, and I know others would too.
I'd like to see this theme... Where can I see screen shots of the original theme? I have no knowledge of Android Theming or anything. But if there's a pretty good guide, and by pretty good I mean something that will SHOW me how to do it, then I could give it a try. But I'm more visual so a walk through that's text only won't help.
This seems like its AOSP straight to the bone seriously just use the AOSP ROM, whats honestly different?
When trying to flash it via Clockwork it says "Amend script was disabled in this version" or some such thing, and then says "Installation Aborted".
Using reframe.sh causes the phone to not boot (sticks on boot anim).
The title describes it. When connecting over 3G/HSDPA, how can I remove this? It's incredibly frustrating.

if only people who didnt know what their talking about would shut the hell up.
trust me, several folks are working on a fix for this but as for right now the best that can be done is to hide the icon in the notification bar by making a transparent image to replace the icon in phone.apk.
but this will NOT remove the notification in the dropdown which is what im sure you are referring to. so dont let that guy lead you on a wild goose chase just cuz he doesnt understand your plain and simple question.

Well, I was sure he was talking about in the status bar, so just because we're both sure of different things doesn't make either of us wrong. Maybe my previous answer was slightly rude, but I was offering the location of the best fix at the present moment.
So, with two different ways to interpret this question, we both helped him, I'm sure adequately. The links below will take you to the thread to remove the icon (not the notification).

Thanks guys, it was only because I was using mindhacker's rom (or whatever hes called) and he managed to remove it, which looked great but was one of the biggest battery drainer roms I've ever come across.
I've been looking for a live walpaper that reflects the battery charge level.
Came across Asus MyWater, it's extremely nice, but apparently it won't work at all outside Asus Transformer and its Xoom port. Forcecloses upon trying to assign lwp...
So, found "Liquid Battery" which also force closes..
Any other full screen LWP's to this end ? Not interested in widgets, that i can get easily...
Any ideas ?
Phone runs latest CM9 nightly (as of post date/time).
I've been using asus water on my sgs2 for ages
i've used Neon Clock GL and it could show battery indicator, cpu meter, memory meter, compass, calendar..
u can get it at play store for free..
@Brendo: According to your sig your S2 is on 2.3.6. Mine is on CM9 4.0.4 ICS. Did you try Water LWP on ICS ?
@Gorjess: Nah, looks a bit meh and isn't really what i'm looking for.
Cheers...
Anything like MyWater but not as gorgeous ? Something that drains background as battery discharges ? May not be "rotatable", as long as its full screen...
There are 2 here:

Haha, very funny indeedy... Not... Go away if you dont ahve anything constructive to add...
Well I added an idea on the previous post, and to be honest, I wasn't trying to be funny.
The first Google result gives a huge selection of threads from XDA.
It's an easy way to display results.
A thanks would have been a better response.
Unbelievable.

Well, i do understand that in the trolldom that is internet sometimes you do need to pull "LMGTFY" out, but when you do, you must be prepared to be called a **** (if for a good reason).
My point is, first result is "buddha the charge meter". Thanks, but that is not nearly what i'm looking for and it is in no way constructive... That's why i told you to go away. Did it ever occured to you that some people actually do research before posting ?
Also, my problem appears to be solved so thanks to anyone who helped without resorting to "LMGTFY" trollery/sarcasmery...

I disagree.
And here's my previous post:

Good luck with your search.

Well, i got different results (buddha battery, the whole idea is a bit wtf )... No matter. No need for all this bickering... Its petty.
As for your post, i did try orange juice one. For some reason it would display but it will not animate when set. It will animate in preview though.
My CM9 is freshly installed, wiped couple of times before use, so it has to be something in the CM that does this. Not sure what though...
Ok.
I've been looking, and the highest rated wallpaper is this (Although paid unfortunately) -
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.monkeyinmysoup.batterywallpaperpro
Although it seems you may have sorted your installation problem, it's worth bearing in mind.
EDIT:
A free version is also available:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.monkeyinmysoup.batterywallpaper
Cheers.
Yeah, looked at that, but its more of a gimmick. Well MyWater is as well but at least it has some level of precision in depicting level of charge.
If i knew how to program stuff i'd write very simple one that, say, inverts a bitmap image of your choice at the level of charge 1% at a time from top to bottom, no animations no nothing. Just a simple thing. Cant find anything simple as that. Everything is more or less "gimmickyfied" in some way. Fancy battery eating animation, acc sensor usage, etc...
EDIT1 its bull**** like this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bavirek.apps.icebuddhalivewallpaper&hl=en
(for some reason was the first result of your LMGTFY shot, not sure why now i get proper xda links (checked out by me before i posted here, btw ) )
Understandable.
As a last throw of the Dice, the MIUI battery bar works well on AOKP roms, although not a LWP, it's not intrusive and is battery friendly:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tombarrasso.android.batterybar
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pvy.batterybar
