I just received an update from Samsung Hongkong and that confused me since Note 7 is a discontinued model.
So why Samsung Hongkong offered an update without any restrictions.

I doubt it... phone is still operational even after applying the update. So if they added a kill switch than why wait ?

phone becomes more responsive and before the update
battery reaches to 20% by the day end i.e 8 p.m but today even its 10 p.m and battery still at 44%
Before the update temperature goes upto 39c but today the max was 35c....
Keeping in view i charged the overnight however i disabled the quick charge and use note3 charger for charging

What if it just got through before end of updates...
I really want to install this but I know it's going to limit my battery to 60 percent and probably annoy the $hit out of me with the powerdown and return pop-up everytime I plug in the charger.
Did it limit the battery charge or significantly slow down the charging rate?

No limitations on battery but since i disabled the quick charge and use old N3 charger therefore my phone takes almost 4 hours to full charge that's why i charged my n7 overnight

Ditto, no noticeable improvements as of yet but quick and smooth as always.
The fact that the note 5 started getting it ( same version that the Nexus comes with ) just means we're getting closer to marshmallow.

Supposedly some battery improvements with it too (hopefully a fix for that stupid cell standby issue)

I feel like no matter what phone I'm always waiting for something. Waiting for marshmallow checking sites everyday. Then once it finally comes to tmobile the 6.0.1 will be out. Saw this having had no idea that there was a new update.... I kinda stopped caring about updates a long time ago. I used to get excited for them but the truth is that most of them.... even main ones like from Kit Kat to Lollipop there is never ever a huge difference in my eyes. With that being said there are updates that are necessary and do come with noticeable changes like when we got 5.1 we saw new video calling and even tho rooted devices arent compatible as of yet Samsung Pay but overall when I got excited for updates I was always disappointed.
Maybe a stupid question but, I got my phone yesterday after switching from Verizon. Is the latest and greatest OTA rootable?
Thanks.
I'm going to say "no" , without jumping thru all kinds of hoops and risking a bricked device.

Try to factory reset as a last resort.
Try to root and solve by those means maybe?
Disable all syncing (unnecessary) crap and apps/system apps you don't use.
No extra drain here. I haven't done 7 hours in a long time but it is nearly 13 months old.
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
so after 13 months the battery is dead??it's not nexus 6P with battery problems..also, mine is 11 months
i don't need root for now so i guess it won't help me, factory reset maybe can help but i'm try to avoid it now...
sync is disable now for crap and yet..at the email field there is two syncs Gmail and edison email, is it make the problem?
and i understand from you guys that the november update isn't make something with the battery?
I wouldn't say 5 hours SOT is dead. Dead is off the charger it lasts only 5 hours. I still get through a 16 hour day fine with 4 hours SOT and 20% left. I'm just saying I haven't gotten 7 hours SOT in a long time. What matters is getting from morning to night without needing to do a top off. And there's nothing wrong with charging during a drive back home from work. Also, I did a factory reset in October as it's something I've been doing yearly with my phones. It helps somewhat (my "Full charge lasts about" estimates have gone up 2-4 hours) but it's not going to make miracles and turn the battery to day-1 level. For me, I do it to clear up things.

My battery also dropped significantly, like OP, after the November update (from 6.5 SOT down to 4 SOT). I noticed my wi-fi scanning was enabled though after the patch. I will disable that. Hopefully that does the trick!

Here is another battery drainer to check. Pull down your notification shade and look for "nearby" if it's not there hit the edit button and add it to your quick toggles. Make sure it is off as that will be constantly looking for local advertising crap to serve up to you which costs you in battery life.
Just discovered from OnePlus China site.
This app features:
- hardware check with simple UI( no more *#808#)
- check battery wear level ( indicate the battery if replacement is needed)
Hope it helps
84% health after 16 months - not bad.
It is very useful to have the battery info.
I have 81% after 15 months ( I use the phone a lot). I'm still a bit disappointed.
it will be very useful if everyone post their battery health .. mine is 82% about a year usage
87%, 17 months with absolutely no care about battery health.. That's not bad.

Yep. All the time.
Also I recommend this app from play store called: ,,Battery warner" which can stop charging when it reaches chosen percentage (but your phone must be rooted). And it warns me when I reach these 40% percent too.

Which version specifically are you referring to that has the drain?
Rolled back to: N976USQU1ASL3
The problem is with ATA5
I rolled back and then I updated firmware again to ATA5 and it doesn't run hit anymore. I must have had a bad firmware update or something
Every single update has been bad battery for me. It has significantly worse battery than my regular note 10+
I have been having worse battery life as well but not sure if it is from the update or because of Snapdragon 855+ processor (I leave 5G off).

It has been fixed in recent updates.
However drain is still significant but not caused by WiFi now.
As you can see Android+Kernel drains over 30% of my battery. Is it normal in recent Android versions?

Tbh it kind of came out of know where
I updated to the xxv Vietnamese firmware for may update as it said it had stability fixes (AVDF) where as mine xsa Australia (AVDD) said only security, I flashed my csc though
Did a battery recalibration and it hit abother level
Adaptive battery on
All apps to sleep except fb, messenger, and emails etc
Got rid of all the bloatware I don't need
Used the galaxy app booster after updating
Manual brightness at roughly 50%
Adaptive display but 120 - 30hz instead of 48
A heap of bixby routines so I can keep location bt and nfc off till needed etc
Galaxy max hz app so phone sleeps as soon as it's off as well as changing Adaptive display while powersaving mode but changed it so 96hz - 30
I'm contemplating rooting but scared I'm gonna lose my good battery life after resetting
