New TMobile Note 10 plus 5g Update killing battery! - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

Just wondering if anyone else is having issues. I never had to charge my phone during the day. Now I have to charge it and I'm not using it that much.
Thanks

Which version specifically are you referring to that has the drain?

Rolled back to: N976USQU1ASL3
The problem is with ATA5

I rolled back and then I updated firmware again to ATA5 and it doesn't run hit anymore. I must have had a bad firmware update or something

Every single update has been bad battery for me. It has significantly worse battery than my regular note 10+

I have been having worse battery life as well but not sure if it is from the update or because of Snapdragon 855+ processor (I leave 5G off).

Battery life on the new 10C software

Hello!
After the update, for some unknown reason, the battery percentage goes down really really fast, and it was not like that on the 10B. Just a general idea. When I listen to music, and the mobile data is on, it would go down from 57 to 54 in half an hour. Something is not right, and this happens ever after I made a factory reset...
Did anyone with the same problem managed to solve that crazy battery percentage decrease ?

Not really had chance to notice battery life properly, but it doesn't seem to be draining faster. Also my device has definitely been getting much warmer since the update. Think I'm going to roll it back to 10b(c)

Yeah it's possible, need the KDZ of the appropriate version to flash using the engineering tools.
There is a guide already posted in the General section, look in the sticky roll up thread.

I would say so

Received an update on SM-N9300

I just received an update from Samsung Hongkong and that confused me since Note 7 is a discontinued model.
So why Samsung Hongkong offered an update without any restrictions.

I doubt it... phone is still operational even after applying the update. So if they added a kill switch than why wait ?
I saw the update in sammobile firmware list....It's very strange because they should not bring updates to killed phone....

Any changes that you noticed with these updates?

What if it just got through before end of updates...
I really want to install this but I know it's going to limit my battery to 60 percent and probably annoy the $hit out of me with the powerdown and return pop-up everytime I plug in the charger.
Did it limit the battery charge or significantly slow down the charging rate?

No limitations on battery but since i disabled the quick charge and use old N3 charger therefore my phone takes almost 4 hours to full charge that's why i charged my n7 overnight

Android P DP 3 review

Hello all,
Can Android P DP3 be used as a daily driver on the Pixel XL?
yup, I'm using it for a couple of days and there is no any noticable problem.

Battery is very good. But I would recommend you do a factory reset after flashing it. It's always good to do a factory reset when coming from an android version to another version for better results in general.

I get about 5 hours SOT, a slight improvement to 8.1 which is not bad for DP3!
Also most of the app crashes and incompatibilities that I had with DP2 are gone or resolved after resp. app updates.
Enjoy the half gestures of DP3

5 hours SOT!!!
That's insane. How much you used to get in 8.1?
Mine barely gives 3.5-4 hours

It's really good, when I'm in the office, from 11 to 7, using the phone for calls and messages at the end of my workday, I'm still having 75-85%. About SOT, as I'm using the phone on almost full brightness every time, at least 90%, I'm getting 4-4.5 hours.

You guys are getting good SOTs, mine here goes down max 3.5 hours with same usage.
On DP3 it's fantastic but I seem to have a strange performance bug where the phone locks up for a few seconds. It gets worse over time with restarts fixing it.

This one's new now. Is it happening randomly or after some tasks are performed?
And is fast charging working properly?

It's really odd. For the first few days it was fine then suddenly it happened. As for fast charging I haven't actually looked (battery life has been much better). The lock ups have something to with with the UX but I haven't been able to pin-point it.

Question Battery life, stand by drain

Hi all.
I have just got a s22, live in UK
Battery drain, overnight is about 20%. I have disabled 5G, but not much improvement. Is this a defective unit? I'm on Vodafone. I'm still in return window.
Thanks for the advice
Exynos? If so try turning off WiFi, also did you set up with smart switch?
Yes , is exynos. WiFi, is on, while at home, as it should be

I have the Exynos version as well, but I don't recognize this statement. Over night, I lose about 6% with wifi, location and bluetooth on.
Do you have adaptive battery turned on? Maybe that helps for you.

It's well known but may have been fixed, only other thing I could think of is if he used to smart switch to set up the phone
@skinza
It has been fixed in recent updates.
However drain is still significant but not caused by WiFi now.
As you can see Android+Kernel drains over 30% of my battery. Is it normal in recent Android versions?

That's most likely your issue then, another known problem is using smart switch, best off starting fresh and transferring files manually, I used mobile trans app
Need it on both phones
I gave up a 2-month fight with S22 yesterday. I won't do a tester for Samsung for so much money. I returned to the S21U and today I am as happy with the battery life as ever!
I was gonna throw in the towel but now I'm getting 7h sot on 5g and 8-9 WiFi currently at 5h42 with 45% left been watching moves since 100%
Super happy now, but I'm scared to root having to wipe everything I do t wanna lose my battery sd variant
Try to flash firmware with Odin.

If he is on 2nd April update or above, the Wi-Fi drain issue was fixed.
However, now we have Bluetooth drain! But Samsung is aware and is planning a fix for the following update (or maybe later)

Because I'm the one who made the report, they found the issue using my report and told me they were gonna fix it next update or should I say "Fixed normally in a next update whose date is not specified" this is word for word what they told me

Tbh it kind of came out of know where
I updated to the xxv Vietnamese firmware for may update as it said it had stability fixes (AVDF) where as mine xsa Australia (AVDD) said only security, I flashed my csc though
Did a battery recalibration and it hit abother level
Adaptive battery on
All apps to sleep except fb, messenger, and emails etc
Got rid of all the bloatware I don't need
Used the galaxy app booster after updating
Manual brightness at roughly 50%
Adaptive display but 120 - 30hz instead of 48
A heap of bixby routines so I can keep location bt and nfc off till needed etc
Galaxy max hz app so phone sleeps as soon as it's off as well as changing Adaptive display while powersaving mode but changed it so 96hz - 30
I'm contemplating rooting but scared I'm gonna lose my good battery life after resetting
