As I have a flight tomorrow and I wanted to watch a film on my phone, I bought some films through HTC Watch. The only problem is, that the app doesn't seem to work. Whenever I try to start watching a film the program stops to respond, I can't do anything anymore and after a few seconds the Error Report message shows up ("Watch is not responding. Would you like to send an error report to HTC/ This will help us improve our products.")
I have sent the error report a few times, but nothing changes. The screen stays black, until I kill the app.
Any ideas how to resolve this problem? I really wanted to use HTC Watch tomorrow for my flight and I paid like 20 quid for films now and I just can't use them. Alternatively, is there a way to get my money back? I don't want to pay for a service I can't even use.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Can you uninstall/reinstall it? (sorry not sure myself).....
No, I can't.
Already tried deleting Data and Cache. Problem persists.
HTC watch app not working on the HTC Ones X
I have the same problem on T-mobile UK. I returned my frist phone but the problem persists with a new phone which seems to have the latest software version. You can certainly pay for movies without any problems!
Trailers can be played without any trouble... but the screen goes blank when you try to play a downloaded Watch movie followed by an "application not responding" error message. You have kill the app on task menu to end it.
Neither HTC not T-mobile were any help at all and I am currently trying to get my money back from HTC... they have been passing me around departments for the last 2 months. I now have a complaint registered with their "customer care" team. They were supposed to have processed a refund 1 month ago but I am still waiting.
I am new to this forum and not an expert user. I have not modified my phone but it does have NHS security protocols automatically applied as I use the NHS exchange active server to sync calanders and contacts etc.
I have no idea if this is the cause of the problem.. I suspect it has something to do with the T-mobile ROM (I recall a problem watching you tube on the windows mobile HD2 that was only fixed on later editions).
If any one has had similar problems and found a way round this I would be grateful for your help. I too have tried deleting the cache and data from the app.
... incidentally the HTC Hub service is also not working now the error message reads "unable to connect to the HTC sense server. Please try again later".
I use Watch quite a bit; in fact I watched the Truman Show for $.66 last night via Media Link on a TV. HTC's gone nuts over DRM in Watch. Here are some things to check:
1) Is your Watch account on the phone aligned with your online HTC account(s)? While you can't change Watch via the web, I'd imagine if the accounts aren't sync'd correctly that could be an issue.
2) Have you tried doing setup, entering your payment info, purchasing something, and starting to view it all while on Wi-Fi? Watch syncs info via the Internet multiple times during the setup and purchase process. If there's something funky between your carrier's network and Watch maybe doing the first purchase/viewing via Wi-FI would help.
3) After you've downloaded something, you have to be connected to the Internet (via cell or Wi-Fi) to actually start playing it. You have 24 hours to view something and when you first go to play it Watch contacts the mothership to start the counter. You can't play anything you've downloaded until the counter starts. I learned this the hard way by trying to play some downloaded videos in flight mode while at 30K feet.
Here's some info from HTC's website in case it helps...

I thought of something else. Did any of you unlock your bootloader and root the phone? A lot of DRM-dependent apps don't work on rooted phones. I could easily see Watch being one of them.
Add me to the list. So frustrating that HTC has made sure that the billing portion of HTC Watch works (the app bills my credit card flawlessly with never a problem)...but I have never been able to watch any movies that I have rented.
Is there an e-mail address that you folks have been using to contact the HTC Watch division?
htc watch
- if your bootloader is unlocked, HTC Watch will not work. .. just a reminder I'm using HTC Watch with no problems- loving it with the media link
I don't even have HTC Watch on my One X. I don't really use it, but just noticed that.

I finally got a refund from HTC after 3 months of chasing. There is no direct line from customer to the watch team. You have to escalate a complaint to the customer care team. If you are persistent they will open an email link to their tracked customer care log via a reference number... At this stage your messages will get replies.
From here it still took nearly 2 months to be reimbursed.
Do try [email protected].
Without a case number they may not respond.
Good luck.

Asus Zenfone 2 Random Reboot resolved
Hi Guys,
I have the same Zenfone 2 4GB RAM 64GB ROM.
The restart issue is due to the settings in Accessibility options.
Check which are all switched on:
The culprit is Switch Access Option - If you have it enabled then the mobile randomly boots and reboots. Disable this and you should be good.
I have lastpass enabled in the accessibility options and it does not cause the phone to restart.
Any number of replacement or doing factory reset will not resolve this for you.
Cheers... this issue aside... the phone is a beast.
Do share if this issue is resolved by applying the above mentioned solution.

I've got the same problem, but to ASUS USA: this problem is with your overwriting of the stock Google Android OS. STOP your "stabilityenhancements" and just release Android 6.0 Marshmallow FTOA! Then we can catch up with the rest of the world. There is no longer any good excuse or reason for your year-long delay; except for you filling THAT up with useless bloatware that NOBODY uses and seems to be the problem!
Asking any of us to have to go through your well known arduous replacement RMA process for ruining our devices with your narcissism is totally unacceptable behavior and insulting to the people who are paying you millions of dollars.

I couldn't agree more, it's really bad form that it has taken so long for a proper non-bloatware update. Being stuck on 5.0 is terrible.
I had the same issue. Whenever I tried to do something with the phone, was rebooting. I was not even able to install the update to Android 6.0. I uninstalled some apps, and then was ok, it was no longer rebooting. So, uninstalling some apps can help. I have a Zenfone 2 Laser

Subject : I HAVE REPAIR MY MOBILE 6 TIME AND NOW IT IS NOT WORKING AGAIN
Topic : 1 .Product Quality
Description :
Dear SIR,
I wish to complain about ASUS ZEN PHONE 2 IMEI/Serial No: 352649075366383 that I purchased on 12.07.2015 BAP, jodhpur Rajasthan
I am complaining because the phone show number of different faults with a interval and repaired 5 time in a year, service center is 450 km far from my location. To resolve this problem I would like you to know your opinion because this mobile frustrated me.
When I first learned of this problem, I contacted at jaipur then as per customer care guidance at jodhpur after that again jaipur but problem is persist same .( total visit 9 time at service center), and was told that nothing permanent could be done about this problem. I believe that this response is unfair because i have also asus laptop but there are not any problem.
And at the time of submission of phone at jaipur service center back cover get damage by the hand of madam which is setting on counter after that the response given by mam is irresponsible.
Now i receive phone form service center and found second sim problem, vibration problem , g snser problem again, pls take a hard desion against service center and resolve the problem.
I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible to resolve this problem with replacement. If I do not hear from you within time I will file complaints with the appropriate consumer agencies and consider my legal alternatives. I will enclosing copies of my receipt at next time and hang the mobile on road with reflector for traffic facility. You may be contacted at the above address and phone number.
this time my warranty exceed for 1 month but problem is same.
But mobile does not repaired yet now.
Restarting problem
I had the same issue with my ASUS Zenfone(ZE551ML) and the only method worked for me was to install cyanogenMod (CustomROM) onto my phone.
Steps-
1-Unlock bootloader
2-Install TWRP.
3-Download the firmware and gapps{Platform-x86 Android-6.0 variant- (prefrence of your choice) }
4-Save it on SD card .
In TWRP recovery-
(IF BACKUP REQUIRED)
Steps-
TWRP recovery>Backup>CHECK-System,DATA,Boot.
Select storage MicroSD
SWIPE TO BACKUP
Install cyanogenMod -
Steps-
Install>Select Storage>MicroSD
find your ROM swipe to install
Find GAPPS swipe to install
Wipe cache/dalvik
System reboot.
your phone will boot into your cyanogenROM.
For any queries just google it man !!!:good::good:
I received my Pixel XL 128GB on this past Wednesday and I have been having constant crashing issues with my Camera. I first thought it may have been the app itself so I tried using various camera apps from the playstore which didn't seem to help.
I tried to delete the app data as well as the cache
deleted any app that may use the camera such as facebook and instagram
reset the phone back to factory twice, trying both the stock and stock updated camera app
I even tried various ROMS like PureNexus and AOPK with no fix in sight.
The error message I receieve is "Camera Error - Can't connect to the camera" prior to that error message the screen is black utilizing the forward facing and rear camera.
I called up support and of course got an idiot Google Customer support rep who could barely speak english telling me that it may be hardware related and that I would it would needed to be replaced.
Is there any other options at this point short of sending my phone back and having them send me a replacement? They are telling me they want to do an authorization hold of another $900 for them to ship me a replacement phone first which is absolutely laughable.

never experienced anything like that. I think a replacement is probably your best option given that you're already done a factory reset. The one remaining option I might suggest is flashing a full factory image downloaded from Google.
IMO, its not all that "laughable" that google would ask to put a authorization hold on your account. Its only a pending charge and is never actually processed unless you don't return the old phone.

I have actually done a full factory flash from Google.
Well when I had financing from Verizon or T-Mobile and I had an issue with the phone they sent a replacement first and I had a time frame in which to send the phone back or I would get charged, they never held funds first.
Financing devices works a little different and each company has their own policies. I haven't had an RMA with Google ever, but with Moto (after it was bought by Lenovo) they required a hold and there have been a few other places that if they sent a device to me before I sent one to them they would put a hold on my credit card. I always considered it a standard procedure. As for the Pixel's camera, while there have been some issues mentioned here and other places about camera issues yours seems unique, almost like the camera component was DOA. I would RMA if it was my device.

I found this on Google's forum: Camera issue seems to be solved with beta 2 update, can anyone else confirm?

7.1.2 (NPG471) Yes currently it work well
The above post has more to do with phones in low signal areas that have the camera freeze up usually with purple lines across some of the photo. That issue has been on going mostly with European variants since release. This does not give the unable to connect error.

Thanks for all the responses but I guess Support was correct when they said it was the hardware. My new phone works without any issues.
Hey! Today I made a phone call and the other person couldnt hear me. Then I tried with another person and the same, then with Whatsapp and same... I can send audios on whatsapp, so the problem is the other microphone.. Even "Ok, Google" isnt working.. I tried restarting and the safe mode too.. Any idea?
Factory reset or RMA are the two things I'd try, neither one is easy.

The only time that has happened to me is after installing an app that required Mic permissions and then had issues releasing the Mic.
maybe revoke all Mic permissions from your apps?

Edit. I tried removing all mic permissions. Didnt work..
Later I will try factory restore... Hope it works
Edit 2. Tried factory restore, didnt work =(
Well, I suppose I will have a phone without mic... Great again Google, first Nexus 6p bootloop, now this....
I have been bitten by this bug. I called google, they had me run in safe mode and do a full wipe and reboot. The tech support person thought it was due to 3rd party software that I had installed. Sigh. I bought my phone from google direct for around $1000 5 months ago. I think I will try again and insist on an RMA unit. I have not seen any official acknowledgement of this bug (which appears to be hardware in nature).
Just went through this myself last week. Same symptoms as @Guriuz. Also had the same support experience as @hawgguy, Support went through safe mode, factory reset, reinstalling factory image, etc. I knew it wasn't an app/software issue as I went through troubleshooting myself already but indulged the support agent. (I had even upgrade to Android P beta, and also back down to a previous version of Oreo just for giggles but nothing helped, same symptom with the mic.) Eventually though, I just stopped him and said what I thought the issue was and requested an RMA. New phone is arriving this week sometime. Hopefully these refurbs are QA'd sufficiently.
Having the same issue. Tried all the tricks I've read on the Google forums (canned air, wipe, etc). After two hours (ugh!!) at the Verizon store they decided to send me a refurb unit. Should be here monday.
A few days ago Xfinity Mobile (or Samsung? I'm unsure) started pushing OTA update G965USQU7DTA5 (One UI 2 upgrade with Android 10).
I successfully updated mine SGS-9 but got stuck on wife's SGS-9 Probably, first attempt of download on this phone was interrupted (my wife went to store, and download was paused 'cause of no WiFi). But after that it's always stopped on 25% and saying "Couldn't download update: Unable to update the software. A network or server error occurred. Try later again". It's a bug in buggy Samsung software updater, I'm 100% positive, but how to fix that stuff without resetting the phone?
Phone is NOT rooted or unlocked; I googled for "offline update" instructions for stock, locked phones but can't find good, clear instructions.
Any suggestions, guys?
P.S. I've never done phone reset on SGS-9, how it works? Is it quick and safe enough? My wife's phone don't have sideloaded and/or pirated apps, everything by original, Google- & Samsung way.
Update: I resolved my issue by updating phone from PC, using Samsung's "Smart Switch" application - everything went smooth and easy.
P.S. Big thanks to this guide: https://thedroidguy.com/how-to-fix-...not-update-to-latest-software-version-1097987
Update 2: My question received no answers, even no attention but I still believe in people (generally)
So, after update to Android 10 on SGS9, my wife found what the new camera app is kinda downgrade: she doesn't likes new video mode full screen chooser (instead of "scroller") and some other small things. By the way, I clearly understood her: for example, on her SGS9 (updated via PC) video has, by default, bigger zoom than mine SGS9! It's kinda ridiculous but I understand, some parts of the software was written by Korean guys
My question is: could you provide some tips how to install stock camera app from the previous firmware (Android 9), without flashing back old firmware (I suspect what Sam-damn-sung and X****&nity will not support Android 9 anymore)?
Thank you!
P.S. I know how the google search works; I know even more - how xda-dev search works too but I can't find exact answer to my question, sorry!

I think it's more no one has xfinity. I was one of the few and first to have xfinity when I got my s8. xfinity is a weird setup compared to most phones. I had to ditch em when they charged me like 3 or 4 times in one month, it took me almost 4 months to get a refund.
With root you might be able to get the old camera working possibly. Or gcam I'm no developer so I wouldnt know the exacts. And I still run my xfinity s8 ???
