Sometimes when my phone rings I can't get it out of lock to answer the phone. When the caller hangs up only then I can answer. This is intermitant. I don't know what to do.
Running the stock ROM, and rooted with unrevoked.

What ROM are you running? Rooted or not rooted? These are things you should remember to post when you're having issues. Makes diagnostics much easier
All I have done was root it. I didn't install any rom or anything. I only rooted it to get the wifi tethering.
So screen turns on, but you are not able to press "answer" when a call is incoming?
Its telling you to hang up on stock rom and go custom. Plus you have better support specially being in this community.

I'm inclined to agree. Custom ROMs definitely go waaaaay above and beyond the stock one. I use a combination of MyBackup Root and Titanium Backup free for contacts/messages and apps, respectively. Once you go custom, you never go back
What I was trying to say is that the screen is locked when the phone rings and then when I go to answer the phone it will not unlock until the phone stops ringing. But like I said in the first post this doesn't happen all the time. I would say about 25% of the time it does this. Sooo... Thats what I was trying to say.
Are you using Google Voice?
Are you using Google Voice to direct your calls? I have 3 phones that GV directs my calls to, and I've noticed that sometimes that causes one or the other of the phones to ring "late". Sometimes the Inc, sometimes not. I don't notice an issue when someone calls my direct line to any of the phones.
I am wondering what you would get if you use an app like No Lock that disables the lock screen.
I started using it when I had a roms lock screen fighting with a launcher's lock screen. I would get stacked lock screens, but only sometimes.
Running without a lock screen is not for everyone, so think about how you use your phone before disabling this great security feature. For me, my phone never leaves my side, and I mean NEVER. And if a "friend" starts poking at my phone I start poking in their face or purse... They learn after awhile.

I'm not sure if I would like the no lock because I tend to put my phone in my pocket all the time and it would just turn on and pocket dial people. LoL

SetCPU?
Assuming screen is off when it cannot be unlocked - but...
Are you running SetCPU w/ a low screen off profile?
If not, maybe install SetCPU, and set a higher frequency in the screen off profile settings.
SetCPU is available in the market; it's also available as a free d/l for XDA members here on XDA.

Good call, I do remember when I was revving CPU way down with screen off. When it had been off for ~1-2 hours it'd be sluggish and take a bit for the CPU to rev back up. Never used it that long though because the Kernel I'm using now does this and using setCPU just chews up battery.

Well, there's something to try then - if the kernel is making the device slow to wake, use SetCPU to bump up the screen off profile and see if the issue persists.
Couple folk note just this issue in the kernel threads.
This is a known problem I struggle with myself. You may find that you can stroke up to deny the call but not unlock. It seems that this is some kind of grounding problem. Hearing that I tried setting the phone down and swiping while I wasn't touching it otherwise with some success. I've heard a quick cycle of the power button followed by an immediate swipe down can work. Some report pressing the screen firmly before swiping works. I usually just swipe up, call back and say "sorry about that, what's up?" After all, most people are used to drops and stuff because of Iphones.
I periodically goog "incredible can't answer" looking for the golden bullet.
Is there a way to disable the "ok google" toast from appearing every time I wake up the 360 in ambient mode?
Some people fixed this by saying "ok google" 5 times in a row, give it a try

No clue, as i don't have a moto myself yet.... wasn't it something like tapping the watch face to get into the speech recognition window? I'm not sure whether you can re-enable it.

I would guess you could get it back by resetting the watch. If this works then it sounds like they only show it until they think you get the hang of it. Resetting should make it forget all about that and show back up until you figure it out again
FYI I had this appear after I enabled the Ambient Lighting option in features so my guess is that (for now) you can toggle this if you want that back although I'm not sure why anyone would intentionally want it back. This seems like more of a bug though so I wouldn't expect being able to enable it again by toggling that feature to survive the next update or two so if you really want that message to stick around I just wouldn't say "OK Google" five times in a row if that's the fix.
I don't mind 'ok google' - its more the position is not where I would want it - anyway to move the position?

I think he meant say "OK Google" to start a search, close out of it and go back to the watch face screen, say "OK Google" again to start another search, and do that five times. I don't think it even has to be five times straight, you could maybe do it once a day for five days. It definitely does go away at some point though. Mine used to say it every time but doesn't anymore. Not sure if this is the exact reason why, but it's possible.

Good. Finally we're in agreement.
No root, no need to download or install anything.
This work for other devices as well as the Note 4. This enables the Google now "Ok Google" Feature where you can active Google now while the screen is off. This is something like the Moto X feature.
How To:
1) Open Google Now
2) Go to Google Now Settings
3) Click on "Voice"
4) Enable "Audio History"
5) Click "Ok Google Detection"
6)Click "Always on" and follow the remaining directions.
You Can also watch this How To Video if you want:
If you device is unsupported or it just wont work, then there is an app called "Open Mic+ for Google Now" which does this for you.
This also works on the Lg G3, Nexus 5, and Galaxy S5, from what I know. Please feel free to try other devices and let me know if they work as well.
For anyone who wanted to know, this dose not kill the better. It doesn't even show and you wouldn't notice it was on until you said "Ok Google"

Only had the phone for 8 hours too soon to tell if it's a major battery drain. However my understanding of the snapdragon 805 is it has some type of architecture built which always apps to run in a low power mode without draining much battery and Google now uses this feauture.

The first day I had the phone I used it all day and had 2% battery life when I went to bed. Woke up about 6 hours later and though it has died. Nope still on 1%, so what you say could be true.
I have this enabled and can say that my battery life is great with it turned on.....of course this a completely subjective post. But I see nothing that indicates any type of additional strain on the battery. Playing a couple of hours of XCOM however...
Only works when SVoice is on
Something to note (no pun intended), when I have SVoice disabled, I don't have any setting "Always on", however when I reenable it("Turn it On") in the app manager I get the option.

Here is my power usage over night not plugged in with nothing else to compete with the voice activation. Although my battery life is still pretty good, considering the circumstance, this is definitely eating away at it.
Found that when you don't use the feature for a period of time it turns off. Not completely off but, i found that I would have to go into the google now then exit for it to work again. Anyone else find to have this problem as well?

I have noticed the same exact thing. The phone 'OK Google' doesn't work with the screen off, only when I turn the screen on or plug it in for a charge. Not a big deal, but I was hoping it would work without a screen being on. Still fun to use that function, it makes me feel like I'm in the 'OK Google' commercial

None of these features are the "always listening" feature.
QCOM chips since the 801 I think have a built in low power core for hotword detection. Most moto phones have it, some samsung phones have it, NO htc phone has ever had it even though the chips DO HAVE that feature! Why the hell not ... is my question.
How do you know they don't have it?
Is there software available to take advantage of it?

There is the physical core that is always on which uses almost 0% power to listen for a phrase. This has been present since snapdragon 800. The 810 certainly has it, but qualcomm has never released a public api for it. I believe the company would be required to license it privately. My question is, why has no HTC phone ever had this feature? Surely they need it considering their marketing department is comprised of untrained monkeys and almost every recent phone they put out has been overshadowed...
i noticed that under the settings for the google app and the voice option .... it says that it isnt available for my current language (Uk english). So perhaps that is the reason you cannot have it "always on". No idea why it isnt supported but perhaps it is something to be developed and supported in the near future. Search still works in the app via voice command ... only a click away.
my question is why is it so urgent and needed when screen is off etc? the app lets you use the voice command ... with the widget on screen it's only a click away.
Perhaps make some enquiries with HTC or Google themselves and see if you can get some answers there?

Sounds like you are describing s-voice that my s3 had. You could program the phone to do various things with trained phrases. For example "wake up Galaxy" would wake the phone up and then ask for a command. I haven't seen this feature at all on the m9.
Hot word detection does work.. What exactly are you trying to do?
I don't know if this is just me but I cant seem to get this damn feature to work. I've trained my voice to this thing a hundred times and still it won't recognize it. I have to say it 3 or 4 times and finally, once I scream it, it might work. I look like a damn fool. Is this how it's supposed to work? By the time it does work, I could have picked the phone up and done what i was asking manually. What about when youre driving, you ask?
More than not, in the unlikely event that it will work, the phone remains locked until I enter my password. I've set the unlock-by-voice to "on" and still it will never work. What's the point if I'm driving and when it finally does recognize me, I have to pick it up and unlock it?
Has anyone else had these issues?
I'm left thinking that if Google was really pushing Google Assistant as the next big thing, they've got A LOT of work to do.
Nah. It even recognize my voice in noisy room. Although not every command would heard perfectly if its too noisy. But in a normal siatuation, it pick up 95-99% of my command and do it properly
