Is there a way to disable the "ok google" toast from appearing every time I wake up the 360 in ambient mode?
Some people fixed this by saying "ok google" 5 times in a row, give it a try

If that works, How do you re-enable the toast?

No clue, as i don't have a moto myself yet.... wasn't it something like tapping the watch face to get into the speech recognition window? I'm not sure whether you can re-enable it.

I would guess you could get it back by resetting the watch. If this works then it sounds like they only show it until they think you get the hang of it. Resetting should make it forget all about that and show back up until you figure it out again
FYI I had this appear after I enabled the Ambient Lighting option in features so my guess is that (for now) you can toggle this if you want that back although I'm not sure why anyone would intentionally want it back. This seems like more of a bug though so I wouldn't expect being able to enable it again by toggling that feature to survive the next update or two so if you really want that message to stick around I just wouldn't say "OK Google" five times in a row if that's the fix.
I don't mind 'ok google' - its more the position is not where I would want it - anyway to move the position?

Lol that is NOT the fix, I think the guy was joking...
All I got was the search results for "Okay Google"

I think he meant say "OK Google" to start a search, close out of it and go back to the watch face screen, say "OK Google" again to start another search, and do that five times. I don't think it even has to be five times straight, you could maybe do it once a day for five days. It definitely does go away at some point though. Mine used to say it every time but doesn't anymore. Not sure if this is the exact reason why, but it's possible.

Fixed mine and I'm not alone so maybe you shouldn't be so quick yo speak on topics you yourself don't fully understand.

Actually, no. The Original Poster didn't say anything about five times. Maybe you should post less and read more because you're coming off like more of a tard with every post.

Anal much?
Yes technically the Original Poster merely asked the question.
But the first person to answer him, the second post in this thread, and the solution that we've been discussing this whole thread clearly states:

Good. Finally we're in agreement.

I reset my device in order to push the latest update. It worked but now its constantly prompting "OK Google". I tried restarting, resetting and yes using several voice commands. What am I missing?
Nvm. I had to initiate the voice command multiple times for it to go away. I was a little hasty between resets lol
Hello.
Finally i'm not alone!
Can you please help me dissolve it ?
I tried talking to the watch a lot of times it's still here o.o
As it seems you did the same, I really don't get it...
Thank you!
EDIT : Solved by doing like you said. You really really have to insist and do it tons of time...
Kind of annoying.
lol, pretty funny. I just came in here to see if there was a solution yet, since I also tried saying "ok, google" a bunch of times but it didn't go away... then I saw you guys say to do it a lot of times, sure enough, just one more time did it and it's gone now. I think it was around 7 or 8 times total.
Thanks fellas
I believe after u say ok google. U have to ask it some question to make it go away. If u keep saying ok google and back out. It will come back.

This does seem to be the case. I was getting frustrated with this, after about a dozen "OK Google" and backing out it was still coming back. Four loops of "OK Google, start stopwatch" seemed to do the trick for me!
Will kernels ever allow "Ok Google" with the screen off and the 10 unplugged?
Just curious if it's possible. I haven't seen it done yet, so I'm guessing no?

No. But you can do it from the lockscreen with even the stock kernel.
And truthfully, I pretty sure that the kernel has nothing to do with it.

It would cause high battery drain as HTC did not implement low power voice detection hardware into the phone.

Id say it's possible but improbable.
Reason being, you could be dialing someone even the police just by your phone listening to you. The odd background noise could set it off..
I don't even use on Google no more.. Just use your thumb, :good:
openmic is a solution: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.RSen.OpenMic.Pheonix
edit: i have tested openmic shortly, and doesn't work if screen off
So for some reason my phone won't Uncle and let me talk to it with the ok Google keyword. If I say it the phone recognizes I said it, the screen turns on but nothing else really happens. I'm on stock Android 8.1

You have to enable that in GA settings. It is off by default. Search settings for "unlock with voice match". There is a toggle for it.
Yes that toggle is on already, I've retrained the voice module a few times also. Still no luck

Oh, well ok that certainly would have been good to put in your original post, right? FDR.
I don't know if this is just me but I cant seem to get this damn feature to work. I've trained my voice to this thing a hundred times and still it won't recognize it. I have to say it 3 or 4 times and finally, once I scream it, it might work. I look like a damn fool. Is this how it's supposed to work? By the time it does work, I could have picked the phone up and done what i was asking manually. What about when youre driving, you ask?
More than not, in the unlikely event that it will work, the phone remains locked until I enter my password. I've set the unlock-by-voice to "on" and still it will never work. What's the point if I'm driving and when it finally does recognize me, I have to pick it up and unlock it?
Has anyone else had these issues?
I'm left thinking that if Google was really pushing Google Assistant as the next big thing, they've got A LOT of work to do.
Nah. It even recognize my voice in noisy room. Although not every command would heard perfectly if its too noisy. But in a normal siatuation, it pick up 95-99% of my command and do it properly

Never had an issue with the Assistant. Works in 98% of cases. Could it be that the microphone on the phone is defect?
I don't think so. It seems like once it's woken up, it acts better. The super annoying part is when the phone hears me but requires me to input my unlock code. why wouldn't it just wake up?

"hey goooogo" "Hey! Ok!" Lol
Also using "Hey Google" which works a treat, by passes lock screen, and has a sweet voice!
I have the same problem. Sometimes it takes forever to activate, and sometimes it doesn't listen when it does. I'm also having constant gps issues. May rma soon

You have to go into Google Now>Settings>Devices>Phone>Unlock With Voice Match
That should take care of the issue.

Wait seriously? I thought we were poking fun at the Italian grandmother trying to talk to the Google home...well, glad it worked for you lol.
PS if you don't know what I'm talking about, look it up on YouTube.
Anyone here ever have the issue where when you activate GA after a while, it sits with the animation like it's waiting for you to say something but does nothing even when you talk?
The way around is to close it and reopen but it's annoying that it doesn't work every time on first try.

Are you using bluetooth headphones when that happens? It's happened to me before depending on the way I opened GA

I had this when I used active edge to activate the Assistant, appeared but did not hear me talking. If I said "Ok google" or used the button on bottom it worked.
If that's the same for you, in settings for active edge disable and enable the assistant feature and it should start working again.
