G4 Won't Unlock - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am experiencing something very weird with my G4. Started this morning once I got into work.
I woke up, read my messages and then locked the phone while I went to get dressed. Put the phone in my pocket then left for work. When I arrived at work the phone would not unlock. I repeatedly put my unlock code into the keypad and every time it told me it was incorrect.
I hadn't changed the code, and I know what I am putting in is definitely correct, but I still can't unlock my phone to use it.
What can I do!?
Thanks

In addition, I have gone to the Android Device Manager web page and locked my phone from there with a password in the hope I could recover it that way. While my home screen now says it is locked by ADM, it won't let me enter any passwords - there is a pad lock icon on the screen, but thats all and nothing responds to me pressing the screen.

Sorry for asking the obvious : do you have tried to reboot? It sounds like the gatekeeper service is crashed which should be fixable by just reboot.
If you tried that already:
Do you had enabled USB debugging? If so you can delete the gatekeeper files and after a reboot it will be unlocked.
Or
Is your bootloader unlocked and do you have twrp installed? then you can do the same in twrp.
EDIT
----------
Here are the details if adb or twrp is in place:

Hi, did You try to connect your phone at your computer? If works then try to make a factory reset. If not go to your phone provider and reclaim your warranty, if your phone don't have warranty try to unlock your bootloader and root your phone with jmz method (look in the original developer section) then install the recovery and flash with the totem custon firmware, just remember to S-OFF or the kernel will not install correctly and you will experiment wifi and signal issues.

Did you do anything with your phone, like flashing a ROM or kernal ? has the touchscreen worked before and now just suddenly stopped or has it always been like this? if you cannot do anything with it, a factory reset would be my best bet. if even that does not work, and you didnt flash anything custom, then i would bring it back to where you got it and ask for a refund.
IF you have a custom recovery installed, you can do a reset from there. if not -- use ADB.
If you dont have ADB set up on your computer, google a guide for how to do it. Then you can hook up your phone to your computer, and do the command for doing a facotry reset. (have to do it this way because you cannot use the touchscreen.)
ADB command for wiping data( if you need it):
adb shell
recovery --wipe_data

Forgot pattern and Gmail

Hi there guys!
I have a friend who had forgotten his pattern and Gmail account on the m8 and now we can't unlock it
We've tried to make it wrong 10 hoping for a reset as I saw on some websites
And tried to enter the recovery no luck as fastboot is on
Tried adb but he never turned it on
He would do anything to unlock it
From flashing a new firmware to unlocking the bootloader anything for a working device
Actuality I am a Sony user and I am a noob Inn htc stuff
So a helping hand is needed
Bootloader is always accessible, doesn't matter if the "Fast boot" power option is on or not:
Hold power and volume up for several seconds. This will force a reboot. The moment the screen goes dark (but before the white boot screen) release vol up, and start pressing vol down. Don't let go until the white bootloader screen appears.
Or you friend can just go to Gmail on a computer and retrieve their password.

Hard reset using key combo. But it will wipe the data from the phone.
Then after reflashing make a nandroid backup!

Thank You guys It worked after some painful attempts

I messed up and my phone is stuck in the boot screen but I cant access the bootloader

(TL: DR below)So there's a bit of a story here, I installed cyanogenmod 13 iirc on my phone a while ago and none of the google services would work, so I used TWRP to flash SuperSU and another version of Open Gapps on my phone. The phone got stuck on the application initialization thing for when android updates apps for a new version. After 30 minutes, I restarted my phone like a moron and it wouldn't go past the boot screen. I can't even access the bootloader anymore, holding down the buttons doesn't do anything. I've tried using the android tools and adb sees the phone but it's unauthorized and I don't know how to authorize it without using my phone.
TL: DR: flashed supersu and gapps on cm13 and its in an infinite boot screen, cant get to bootloader either. only thing i managed to do is get the phone to show up with "adb devies" as unauthorized. plz help ;(
Why can't you access the bootloader? Can't you just turn the phone off and hold the volume button down and power button on?

No, I get the "Can't check device for corruption" screen then the "Android" screen also shows your bootloader is unlocked and holding down the buttons does absolutely nothing.

It will only pop up when your booting sequence goes beyond boot-loader. Trying holding power+vol down till you get bootloader or 1 min whichever is minimum.

[Q] Welcome screen and Lock screen missing after flashing STOCK ROM

Hey! Need some help if possible. I was messing around with my Captivate Glide. Tried to install some other ROM's but all of them made the phone lost the baseband and IMEI (EFS). I tried restoring the EFS using EFS Pro Tool, but my phone is not being recognized while on CM 11. I decided just to flash back to stock, using the I927UCLJ3_I927ATTLJ3_ATT (which was the only ROM that was showing up the IMEI and got connectivity).
Something that's been bugging me is that after doing all this, the phone boots normally, but there was no welcome screen, it just jumped straight to the main menu without asking for the google account. On top of that, the power button no longer shows the options it did before (reboot, power off). With one press it powers off the screen. If I press it for 2 seconds the phone turns off. There's no even a lock screen on my phone. I've been unable to set lock screen security options. Any options that I select are useless. They do show up under settings, but they don't do anything.
I've been trying everything to get this options back, but I'm not sure how to. I've already flashed my phone to stock, tried with other ROMS, using the same I927ATTLJ3 as reference (since it's the only one that shows the IMEI for me) but nothing. It was showing on CM11 though, all power options where working, as well as the lock screen options. I'm desperate now.
Any help on this?

Have you factory reset your phone? That described things can happen especially when switching between ROMs

Unlocked boot advise, how to get rid of it?

Hi ppl,
I've unlocked my bootloader and now, every time i power on the OP3, shows a screen saying my phone is insecure because it is unlocked, and offer key settings to go recovery menu, etc.
It shows about 3 seconds and continues the booting process.
Is there any way to flash my own image or something to hide it (as i did on my old moto g/g3-te)?
Thanks.
Sergio.
Nope, you'll have to live with it.
You can skip that message by pressing power button, but there's no way to remove it.

Other way of removing that message is to lock the bootloader.
Type in terminal: fastboot oem lock. this will wipe clean the userdata and you'll need to install everthing again.
You can't remove that message with the unlocked bootloader. You'll have to live with it.
