My speakers were working fine. They were making some crackling sounds then went completely dead. I get sound from the headphones fine. Bluetooth also works fine. But there is not any speaker sounds. I did a factory reset which did not help. I connected new speakers. Still no sound. I disconnected the battery for a while and then rebooted. So my guess would be that the speaker amplifier on the motherboard croaked. Is this a known issues with these? Is there anything else I can try. There might be a possibility that I plugged headphones in and when taken out the speakers were not working. Any ideas or is it live with a Bluetooth speaker or get a replacement motherboard? Thanks.

I have a Sprint Galaxy Nexus running CNA 3.4.1. I've only used the headphone jack maybe twice before to listen to music and everything worked just as it should. Recently however, i tried plugging in some regular headphones and when i played my music it came out the speakers. So i tried a few different headphones and some speakers and still the same problem. The little headphone icon that usually shows up in the status bar doesn't show up. I looked inside the 3.5mm jack and its clean, no lint, bent wires, anything. But no matter what i do i can't seem to get any headset to work. I'm forced to use my bluetooth adapter for my speakers.
This isn't a grave issue as i may rarely use headphones at all. But knowing that option isn't there anymore is just an inconvenience.
Any help appreciated. No rush. Just wondering if anyone else ran into this problem and knows how to fix it.
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: Turns out after trying to play music through my bluetooth adapter it doesn't work. Bluetooth is connected, my speakers are hooked up, and the music is playing on my phone. Just no sound at all. This is a big deal! It's as if my phone won't play audio through anything but the internal speaker.
Again any help is appreciated.

Return to stock ROM to see if that fixes the problems. If not, it's likely a hw issue that headphones aren't detected.

I did that and still did not recognize it. Feels like my only option left is to open the phone and see if something was disconnected or get a new one.
During either a skype, or google hangouts call, if I plug a pair of earbuds into my Nexus 7 (2013) the internal microphone level drops significantly (around 70-80%). This makes internet calls while wearing earbuds impossible. Using the speakers everything works fine, but this leads to feedback noise.
Through a couple hours of research I heard of a similar, but different, issue occurring with Nexus 4 phones in inline headsets would be very quiet. But this issue is different, as it happens with any pair of regular earbuds and headphones.
I tested during a skype call, as soon as I plugged in my earbuds the microphone volume dropped. Once I unplugged them the microphone level went back to a normal level.
Has anyone else dealt with this problem? My brother owns a nexus 7 as well and has the EXACT same issue. Might there be any patch or fix that my googling missed? Thank you,

I have the Note 2 and when I plug in headphones (any) and play music, it's static. You can tell what song is playing but it is pretty much worth someone humming it instead of singing it. This had started to occur recently. When I factory reset the phone, I tried it and it worked but then today i tried it and it's back to static. I'm debating on whether I should get the headphone slot replaced.
Note: the headphones work fine with any other device and I've tried it worth multiple headphones just in case you were wondering.
Any help would be appreciated.
Going to try and keep this as short as possible. My 2 new Robins arrived tonight. Mine is Midnight. Wifes is Mint. Mine works flawlessly. External Audio Out on the front facing speakers doesnt work on hers. While making voice calls via hangouts and phone I can hear through the earpiece. Mic works. Headphones work. BT AUDIO Out works via external speaker. But when I launch YOUTube or Play Music or anything sound related like ringtones nothing can be heard through the front facing speakers? Is this software related? Or hardware related? I already updated when turning on the phone. I already factory reset the device. I bought the phones from Newegg during the $25 masterpass promo code sale.
Any suggestions?
I flashed the previous firmware and rebooted to a functioning device
So the last firmware worked out then?
External audio out. Are you referring to Bluetooth or when it's plugged in? I can't get my bluetooth to work at all but if plugged in with an external speaker it work just fine.
My lg after dropping on floor a few days ago. There is no sound in the earpiece, the mic cannot record any sound and the headphone jack does not recognize any earphone. And it cannot connect to bluetooth earphones. The loud speaks still works fine. I have try turning my phone on and off and did factory reset but nothing helps. Can anyone tell me where is the problem and will there be any solution?
