I bought this cover https://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Google-Pixel-Case-Lightweight/dp/B019TOM5PU but I cannot make the screen sleep or wake with the cover.
Is there a setting for this ?
I have that exact case on my Pixel C and sleep/wake work fine with it. Never changed any settings from what I recall.
Is it done with a proximity sensor or with a magnetic sensor? Because my Pixel C has no proximity sensor and the wake/lock feature isn't working for me.

I was running the *#0*# Test and I found something called a grip sensor.

Thanks, sadly i don't use a cover
On Tab 3 8.0, I found flip cover using a different sensor, a magnetic switch. So, grip sensor still not utilized yet (in CM, not sure about stock ROM). It triggers some events when you touch your Tab 3 on the top left side. Any idea how we could uses this sensor? Touch to wake?
I purchased a case for my Note 8.0 that says it has the auto wake/sleep function when you close the cover but it dosen't work, do I have a bad case or a bad Note(refurbished)? Where's the sensor, is it magnetic or light activated. Thanks

I believe it is magnetic since some were complaining about it disabling touch temporarily on part of the screen where the case magnet was at (only on certain cases). I have a case with the function on my Note and it works fine. Will have to check it and see where the magnet is placed.
Hello everybody, this is my first time with a flip cover, so maybe it is a stupid question, but is it normal that the proximity sensor doesn't work with the flip cover closed?

A proximity sensor is a sensor able to detect the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact.
It often emits an
electromagnetic field or a beam of
electromagnetic radiation and looks for changes in the field or return signal.
If you use flip cover, sensor detect it as a object, as it covers all the time it doesn't work as normal.
If you want normal behavior of proximity, try not to use flip covers.
problum solved
I have asus zenfone 2 I am also having same probelum I had removed my tempred glass (screen gaurd) my problum solved
Hello, is there any way to trigger the screen to turn off (go to AOD etc) when something is closed on its face? I know in the past magnets and other things were used, and even for the SView covers. Is this possible for a DIY?
In the past, doing what you want was fairly easy, there are some apps that do it, I used gravity screen app, even with macrodroid or automate it, but, since the proximity sensors are behind the screen, the whole functionality changed, now, only the phone calling apps can access the proximity sensor, I now rely on the gyro sensor to turn the screen off, it is not the same, but a somewhat useful workaround solution
A small magnet in left-bottom corner does the trick, but only when my original clear-view cover is installed. Without the installed cover (which the phone recognises as installed accessory, I assume through NFC label in cover) the screen will stay on when a magnet is used in the right spot.
I think DIY solution with magnet is difficult, how to trick phone to think accessory is installed and activate magnetic sensor.
The magnetic sensor in phone is located approx 2.0 cm from left screen edge, approx 1.5 cm from bottom.
My previous phone was a OnePlus 3, and it had a magnetic flip cover that would turn off the screen as soon as I shut it. I haven't found a similar product for OnePlus 9 Pro. Any pointers?
Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but I think it does not have that magnetic screen on/off option. I am also looking for a magnetic flip cover. Also for a viable solution for notifications. I think I will go for the Xperia 5 III once released, purely because of the notification light...
I probed around the screen of my OnePlus 9 Pro with a magnet, and no luck -- it doesn't seem to have a hall effect sensor like that on my previous OP5.
But not a problem -- the "Gravity Screen - On/Off" app by Plexnor (Google Play) enables flip covers to work without magnets, using the proximity sensor instead. I use the Nillkin Flip Case on my phone that way, and it all works just fine.
Cheers
