Yesterday I wrote to Huawei:
Subject: Mediapad m2 10 premium
Hello, when comes the update to Android 6?
Thanks for answer,
Michal K
Today i got the answer from Huawei support:
Dear Michal,
sorry, but we do not know the exact date when the update will be released. Right now we are testing it. Stay tuned.
Kind regards.

Thats excellent.
I felt cheated after I looked into the M2 10 AFTER I brought it and saw no update to 6.0 or above.
For a new device to be so far behind its a really piss-poor show from Huawei.
I got it to replace my aging Nexus 10 16gb (which still works great & runs 6.0) but wanted better sound & expandable memory.
I even contemplated trying to go back to my retailer for a refund (but you can guess how that would have panned out)
just hope we get some news soon. i´ve read emui 5.0 is coming so lets dream we will see it for m2 mediapad
What's going on? The M2 8.0 have got the update and dem M2 10 not... why?
From what I have experienced in a number of tablets, Android 6 will drop your tablet's speed by 30-50%, it's THAT bloated.
And, visually/in usage, it's dumbed down, simplistic but with annoying little bits - like the notification panel thingy, dumb as dumb, that is!
I had a reasonably decent modern tablet with Andy 6 that was appreciably slower than my 6 years old Andy 3.1 Tegra 1 tablet.
I just received an update announcement for my M2 10.0 to OTA-M2-A01WV100R001C100B006_B007
Don't know if this is 6.x or whatever, but I won't update unless my root.
It's a shame how Huawei handles their software... The M2 10.0 is a really good piece of hardware but I won't buy a Huawei again because of their totally over-bloated ROM and the very very bad update plan. (1 Update in about a year)

The size of the update is 172 MB, this is too small for an android upgrade. This must be a security patch and hopefully a first step before the android 6 deployment
It's still android 5.1.1... it's a shame
Received this update today, size is 400mb but it might be bacause i have kingroot. Im unable to upgrade via ota (fails) also im unable to remove alwaya so annoying kingroot from tablet.
Also i dont find firmware nowhere to be downloaded, so i could upgrade from sd card
Edit: cannot remove kingroot even with factory reset

Wifi......im now downloading fw for wifi version, maybe i can get ridoff kingroot that way
Finally i was able to uninstall kingroot and update tablet as OTA.
Hopefully this update is prepairing us to Marshmallow
No, this is some months old patch from b006 to b007. I have it a long time already.
Huawei is following release and forget strategy? Or do they just their fingers in too many soup at the same time.
Just got a OTA notification for update to B009 for A01L (M2 10.1 with LTE). I bought a tablet from DE seller.
Now I just have to find a link for FW to download to SDcard or somehow learn how to dance around my root. Fun times #not

not shocked why update an older phone to the newest version of andriod when you can release a new one
i'm kinda shocked they are even porting EmotionUI 2.0 to 4.2.2
sooo how much do you think i could sell this thing for?
I have sent a mail to huawei to release atleast 4.4.2 compatible kernel but they are not even sending an ack mail for it.

I so know what you are talking about! I'm replacing my mate with an old Samsung Galaxy Note II (the only decent and properly supported phablet I can afford right now). It is an old phone, with only a 5.5" screen, but it still feels like a giant leap forward as Samsung claims they will be releasing 4.4.2 for it (along with the old SIII) in the next couple of months! And there are already custom KitKat roms.
Currently, the update is rolling out to devices that are running the Wear 2.0 preview,
if you’re on AW1.5 you can apparently trigger the update by repeatedly tapping the green check mark on the software update screen.Weird. Alternatively, the OTA link below:
https://android.googleapis.com/pack.../ee44a144cfa1319430608b5322b7d359c3e4bbf6.zip
Note, You’ll need a battery at 50% or more for the update to install and it’ll wipe your device in the process.

Sorry that is incorrect. I updated from AW DP5 and nothing was lost. Update confirmed the screens above,
Speedup more that DP5 ^^
Confirmed working! Don't know what took so long, hopefully there's no more connection issues.
It is a pain in the ass having to receive the update through the DP5 though.
Just updated from DP5 via OTA, but mine was wiped. (Don't matter, as it is easy enough to set up from scratch)

Hello all,
I have interesting problem with BQ Aquaris X Pro. Galileo does not work after upgrade to Android 8.1.0. I have three models of this smartphone (my and from my acquaintances: 32GB, 64GB and 128GB - my, rooted). First I upgraded 128 GB model immediately after first power on from default Android 7 on Android 8.1.0 (without root). On the first image you can see on the left this upgraded 128 GB model and next to 32 GB model with Android 7 (without root). I use application GPS test (on the image 1)

and after other applications with the same result. Currently I have rooted this model. Next I upgraded 32 GB model from Android 7 to Android 8.1.0. After moment I did not see any Glileo satellites, sometimes only one with ID3 - image 2.
I have upgraded 64 GB model too (from default Android 7 on Android 8.1.0) and result is the same. But except one Galileo satellite with ID3 (never fixed) I very often see satellites with flags: Great Britain, Luxembourg, without flag and Japan. See image 2 and 3.
I used applications GPS test and Physic Tools.
Have you the same problem please?
Thanks.
Same here. No Galileo satellites since a few weeks. But about four weeks ago up to five Galileo satellites were shown with two of them in use.

Hi @Mato_Z,

@nuv I have tried it on three models. Only one was rooted according to your instructions. In one case I have updated phone to Android 8.1.0 from default Android 7 immediately after unpacked the phone from the original box. In second case it was common used phone without root. In none of the cases is there any application for influence of GNSS.

But as far as I understand, you have always been updating from an earlier Android version :
Phone #1: rooted, updated using my howto
Phone #2: new, unused, updated via official OTR from 7 to 8.1.0
Phone #3: used, updated via official OTR from 7 to 8.1.0
What I meant was (maybe you can use phone #2 for that) a complete reflash with the official zip from BQ (Unmodified bat, no magisk, no twrp, just unlocked bootloader), because the OTR keeps your data and maybe some conflicting config data from the previous android 7 (Just a guess).
If phone #2 is not in heavy use and there is no problem "formating" it, perhaps you could give it a try(?)
(Sorry for the extremely late answer btw.)
@nuv thanks for reply. It is very interesting, but few past days I have seen 4-7 Galileo satellites yet... But I do not have C/N0 communication so I do not have fix on these Galileo satellites. I do not anything with settings... You can try too... Maybe some technical problem from ESA?
Ok here
Hi @ll
FYI, just bought an Aquaris X Pro and i updated it to Oreo 8.1.0 via OTA.
Galileo is working fine.

The 2nd OTA took me from version 1.9.0 to version 2.2.0 (Android 8.1.0 with security patch July 2018)
Alright when i got the news miui 11 is gonna release on 16 october, and then on 16th i realised nope....

Can't you just wait? There are other phones on that list too, obviously.
It should come within the next few days. This discussion is just useless.

I use a Huawei MatePad 10.4 It seems HarmonyOS is not available for this device and also no alternative firmware.
This tablet has a lot of apps installed that I call Crapware. I would like to have only Open Source, but there seems to be nothing. I already use F-Droid apps.
There is No alternative firmware and No HarmonyOS for Huawei MatePad 10.4?
Harmony OS is available for this tablet
In all regions? I see nothing in "My Huawei App". How-To install?
I did from HiSuite and it is possible to install it enrolling on beta tester users.
My tablet is in the Spain region, but you always can download it in the Chinese region and after that change it to your region.
Anyway, you shod have into account that YouTube Vance it is not working if you want to do a clean update, this app is really important for me at least.
Some other apps have had issues in the last versions if you update them, like Spotify, Swiftkey... At least I had problems whit them.
Finally, I can not install GMS because LZplay is not compatible with the tablet

I have the model BAH3-W09, I don't know about your model. Sorry and luck
HarmonyOS is not released outside china
You can check the latest firmware for your region here https://www.firmfinder.ml
Hi dears!
You can follow the below tutorial link to update the Harmony OS on Huawei Matepad 10.4 BAH3-L09 and most of the other Matepad 10.4 models also work as well. Just try it.
Already Tested.. 100% working!

Are you changed your region to China in my Huawei app?
If the change still doesn't work, just clear the data for my Huawei app and try again.

Me too. Tried several time but my BAH3-L09 can't get harmonyos update.
Yes!!! I have the BAH3-L09 model and after try it several time I got it. I found this video
, where I saw how the autor configured the regions to Hong Kong in app galley and My Huawei app. Selecting both regions to China didn't work for me. Tomorrow I will update because it is a 4,27Gb update
MRX-W09 doesn't work
I think I know the reason why it is not updated, even though it is the bah3-l09 model, what changes in the firmware version is the year of the tablet and I think that the tablets of 2020 cannot update only those from 2021 onwards.
