Any good custom ROM for this phone?

Any good custom ROM for this phone?

Yeah, its strange but all I could find are the original Huawei stocks and some Apple-like themed, in fact, still the original stock-based ROMs.
Btw, is someone able to provide some Sony S series like designs? Something....just more simple.

There hasn't been a ton of development for the P6 yet. Partially I think it's the proprietary chipset Huawei used, and also I think it is because there isn't an easy way to unlock the bootloader. MIUI is decent so far, but that's about it for custom ROMs

can anyone give more details on that?
i had a lot of hope to have CM soon on p6 but suddenly all hope seem to be lost since the new info is here.

I would love to try a cm mod on my p6. I was hoping by the time kit kat came out there would be something but so far nothing special..

:/ If thats true, then i think im gonna sell my phone and never buy a huawei again. I just love to play with custom roms on my phones . Lets hope for the best!

What? I can say that Surdu_Petru here in XDA managed to flash CyanogenMod 10.1 on his P6, but its stuck on boot logo. If / when he gets it booted succesfully, he has to fix some driver issues, and then we can use CM on our device !

Screenshots sure like like Android 5.0. I can't imagine Huawei would put the 5.0 hotkeys in a 4.x ROM.

The Honor 6 and Mate 7 both run kitkat but have the 5.0 navbar icons I'm not getting my hopes up about Android 5.0!

Then they'll better optimize and fix the kitkat-builds instead of giving a new crappy release of a modified android L...
If you want android L, get a Nexus or the new Motorola

Yesterday I tried to download unofficial lollipop update for my devices model gt-i9301i but I'm so scared to apply it on my phone cause I do not want to cause any bad effect on my mobile that's why I stopped does that right and if so when the update will realise for us ?

It will come but it'll be a lot of time before it comes.
U should install custom rom meanwhile if anything goes wrong u can flash stock rom easily

I felt cheated after I looked into the M2 10 AFTER I brought it and saw no update to 6.0 or above.
For a new device to be so far behind its a really piss-poor show from Huawei.
I got it to replace my aging Nexus 10 16gb (which still works great & runs 6.0) but wanted better sound & expandable memory.
I even contemplated trying to go back to my retailer for a refund (but you can guess how that would have panned out)

just hope we get some news soon. i´ve read emui 5.0 is coming so lets dream we will see it for m2 mediapad

What's going on? The M2 8.0 have got the update and dem M2 10 not... why?

From what I have experienced in a number of tablets, Android 6 will drop your tablet's speed by 30-50%, it's THAT bloated.
And, visually/in usage, it's dumbed down, simplistic but with annoying little bits - like the notification panel thingy, dumb as dumb, that is!
I had a reasonably decent modern tablet with Andy 6 that was appreciably slower than my 6 years old Andy 3.1 Tegra 1 tablet.

I just received an update announcement for my M2 10.0 to OTA-M2-A01WV100R001C100B006_B007
Don't know if this is 6.x or whatever, but I won't update unless my root.
It's a shame how Huawei handles their software... The M2 10.0 is a really good piece of hardware but I won't buy a Huawei again because of their totally over-bloated ROM and the very very bad update plan. (1 Update in about a year)

The size of the update is 172 MB, this is too small for an android upgrade. This must be a security patch and hopefully a first step before the android 6 deployment

Received this update today, size is 400mb but it might be bacause i have kingroot. Im unable to upgrade via ota (fails) also im unable to remove alwaya so annoying kingroot from tablet.
Also i dont find firmware nowhere to be downloaded, so i could upgrade from sd card
Edit: cannot remove kingroot even with factory reset

Wifi......im now downloading fw for wifi version, maybe i can get ridoff kingroot that way
Finally i was able to uninstall kingroot and update tablet as OTA.
Hopefully this update is prepairing us to Marshmallow

No, this is some months old patch from b006 to b007. I have it a long time already.

Huawei is following release and forget strategy? Or do they just their fingers in too many soup at the same time.

Just got a OTA notification for update to B009 for A01L (M2 10.1 with LTE). I bought a tablet from DE seller.
Now I just have to find a link for FW to download to SDcard or somehow learn how to dance around my root. Fun times #not

Looks like the update will come soon. Here´s the translation:
Huawei Japan Co., Ltd. (hereafter, Huawei Japan) will update software of SIM lock free tablet "HUAWEI MediaPad M2 8.0 LTE model" which is currently on sale.
By updating to Android TM 6.0 and EMUI 4.0 of OS, it is possible to further improve convenience and operability of customers currently in use and to use them more comfortably.
The software update will start sequentially starting from December 2 (Friday). An update notification will be sent to your tablet. All customers will be able to update it in about a month.

Hmmm. With the reviews that kept talking about this phone coming with the global ROM out the box that release window is a lot longer then I was expecting. Looks like I may be signing up for the global beta so I can start using this phone sooner than later.

Register for your xiaomi unlock account now. Get unlock verification sorted via sms before receiving the device
When you get your device, bind your account to the device in developer options asap because there's a 72 hour wait before you can unlock BL
Some of these steps need to be done on a Chinese VPN but there's a few free ones available
