I have seen this one many times on this forum and have read as many as I can. I find no solution ...
I was given a bricked Kindle Fire. I now understand that the user was trying to root the device and used TeamWin to do it. The device will power on. It displays the orange Kindle Fire, the blue Kindle fire and then goes to a blue screen with the word TEAMWIN on it. There it hangs as the screen flashes every 6 seconds or so. I should note here that the blue Kindle Fire screen develops a colored raster pattern from the top to about 1/4 the way down just before the TEAMWIN screen pops up.
The consensus seems to be that I must boot into recovery mode. I suspect that is what the blue TEAMWIN screen is about. I have tried all the button combos I can think of, it ends up at the same screen each time. I have connected it to a PC via USB cable. Windows says it cannot open it. It sees it as a Kindle but claims it cannot find the driver for the MTP USB Device. I have searched for a new driver. I have uninstalled the USB drivers on Windows and allowed it to reboot to restore them, that did not work. The Kindle and the MTP USB both have the exclamation point in a yellow triangle next to them in device manager.
OK boot linux. The same boot sequence occurs on the Kindle. Linux gives the error "Unable to mount Tate PVT 08" and "Unable to Open MTP Device" lsusb shows the device as Lab 126 Inc, which is Amazon.
I have not built the gizmo to replace the factory cable. I can do that if you think it might help. I also understand that it may be time to move this to the recycle pile. The things are cheap enough to buy. But it is a good problem and I am retired and bored. Keeping it polite, suggestions?

Try getting into fastboot using this

Alright folks, I would like to start off with a little introduction:
I'm extremely new to the rooting scene, i've been jailbreaking iphones and ipods since day one. That being said, I probably should have spent more time researching this technique before I went through with it.
Fast forward to today:
I tried rooting my device awhile back, wasn't a 100% successful and I really didn't have the time to work it out. I did have FFF installed and the next window (which i'm not exactly sure what it's called, which allowed me to boot in various moods and such)
Earlier today I got stuck in a boot loop, where my kindle would turn off as soon as i restarted it, and after i selected normal boot mode. I decided it would be a good idea to try a different boot option, so i tried the FF boot, which completely ruined my day.
My current situation is as follows:
I'm currently stuck on the first FFF screen (yellow triangle, with the green light on), i can do nothing else from that screen except hard (cold) reboots. When i plug my kindle in (Mac, windows 7, windows XP), the device is not recognized and i get zero response. I've tried a decent amount of suggestions on this forum, including Kindle fire unbrick (Which can somehow see that there adb is installed, but the bootmode is unknown)
Help out of this current situation would be wonderful. I'm really in a jam here.
Sounds like you are stuck in fastboot and you might have a dead battery too.
You should read this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552547
1st post for background information, 2nd post for making sure your device drivers are loading/working, and the 3rd post for fastboot and adb commands. You'll probably need to use fastboot to change the bootmode back to normal.
This one...

address dead battery problems. You might be affect this by this one as well.
Thanks for the reply,
I read pieces of the first one before I posted on this thread. The KF was 100% charged and i only used it for about 15mins before the whole crashing problem occurred, so i highly doubt it's a low battery issue.
The screen that i'm stuck on is actually the recovery screen. After reading the article in it's entirety, i'm still not exactly sure what to do. My problem is that i cannot get my kindle fire to be recognized as any type of USB device on any type of computer. Wouldn't that issue need to be addressed before i can go about doing anything else? Or will drivers see what my computer think is not there?

What do you mean by recovery screen? Because your first post said FFF and that's your bootloader. If the yellow triangle boot logo comes up and that's all that the display does (doesn't go black and redisplay the boot logo), then it's in fastboot mode. Windows should give you an indication that it's connecting with a series of 2 connection beeps (low->high tone) without a following set of disconnect beeps (high->low tone). The device manager will show something new in the list (this is covered in post #2 in the first URL I pasted for you).
Yes, you need to get something to get recognized by your computer then you need to install the proper drivers for it. Look at post #2 again, and see if you can figure out what device is appearing in the list and get the drivers loaded for it. If you get absolutely nothing, there's something wrong with the bootloader, your USB cable, USB port, or computer in general and it's a bigger problem.
If nothing happens on your computer, find another one and hook it up there. You might also look at this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1430038
and see if Linux can help you.
I'm sorry, I was mistaken. I am stuck in Fastboot mode, The one with the yellow triangle. I get zero indication from Windows device manager list, or beeps (same on my mac). I have tried 3 different cables, so i highly doubt that's the problem either.
My next step is the linux distro, which i will get back to you with when I get everything installed. My only concern is that the linux distribution isn't going to recognize the USB either (seeing as 2 other operating systems haven't) and that there's something inherently wrong with my kindle. In which case i'm ****ed? or is there any chance that amazon will take it back?

Windows will be the only one that of the three that will beep at you. There's a better chance of you getting something done with Linux, but it's starting to sound like a bootloader problem to me. There's another user with a similar problem to yours and he's basically where you are now. Both of you might have to open up the case and get it to USB boot mode where you can upload a bootloader to it through USB. Try Firekit and see if it gets anywhere.
Please, please, really, help me out. My kindle fire is bricked, I tried Unbrick tool and a lot of other things, like installing again the drivers, the sdk, but nothing works at all!!
Here is the thing: When I was rooting my Kindle, my building got a blackout during the root process, and when the light goes on, my kindle was stucked on "Kindle Fire" logo. When I use adb devices, nothing shows. When I connect to Windows, it shows as a Unknown device, and when I try to install adb composite, it give a message saying that the driver android_winusb is not compatible with the hardware connected to USB. So, I can now really use this brand new Kindle Fire as a brick? I bought it on june 06 2012 !!!!!! Please, help me with this.. please..
Thank you very much
I was in the same place yesterday
Uninstall the unknown usb driver
Unplug kindle from usb
Reboot pc
Install drivers from kindle fire utility using the install_drivers bat
Plug kindle in, should recognize as adb device (if it shows up as a kindle uninstall those and reboot)
You may need to use kfu to get into normal bootmode if stuck in fastbook onc the drivers are set
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA
Stuck in Kindle Fire logo mostly means your your KF is in fast boot mode. Try unplug your KF, get the latest KFU and reinstall drivers, reboot pc and reconnect KF.
Open KFU and select normal boot mode.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Thank you for the answers, but it is still not working. I did everything you told me, but its not working. My Windows 7 set the device as unknown. When I set it to normal boot mode, the program starts to wait for the device that is already pluged in.
kindle fire bricked at all
What else can I do? I have tried on Mac, on Linux and Windows, but its not working in any of these systems.

First figure out where it's getting stuck in the boot process. If the bootlogo appears on the display and stays that way without ever blacking out, then it's in fastboot mode.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668159
If it does go black before showing the bootlogo again, then it's no longer in fastboot mode and its trying to boot into something. In this case, you'll have to hope that it's getting far enough into the boot process that it can accept adb commands from your computer.
Either way, you'll have to make sure the drivers are working properly.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552547
The second one covers drivers, but the first 3 posts in general should be helpful to you. If it's not in fastboot mode and you can't get it to execute adb commands, you can either get a factory cable or open up the back cover on the device and use Firekit.
Hi.
I tried to install cyanogenmod on my Kindle Fire. Unfortunately, my device has been bricked....
First of all, I installed sdk manager with platform tools and google usb driver. I did everything to computer can work with Kindle Fire (finally I used "Kindle Fire Driver" pack because when I want to install driver by "Kindle Fire Utility" I can see error, because I haven't english version of Windows).
In the end I turned on "Kindle Fire Utility", I connected device to computer. Device was seen in the computer and "KFU". Then I gave a command to install root and superuser. After this command, I read my device will be relaunch in fastboot mode. KFU tried to download and install
TWRP, but it wasn't complete, because "KFU" couldn't connect with server. Application finished work and my Kindle Fire has been frozen. Now I can see only "Kindle Fire" logo. When I connect Kindle Fire, computer don't recognize it.
What Can I Do? I read that device is again and again in fastboot mode. What should I do to bring this device to life?
I read any command, but I can't do nothing, because computer can't see device.
Please, help me . Thanks in advance and best regards.
And...sorry for my english, I hope You'll understand me.

If i am correct, you should be able to turn it off by holding the power button until the screen turns black while stuck... then just reboot normally.
Thanks for reply. Unfortunately each time when I turn on device, it's stuck on logo .
Edit: When I turn on KF I can see Kindle Fire logo all time, it doesn't disappear.

Sorry, im sort of new here so i kinda guessed. :/
I hope someone else sees this thread.
EDIT:There may be hope! According to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832812 . He has the same problem... try booting into the recovery menu then clear the cache.
The problem is my device has stock bootloader installed, so I can't do this .
I will read some articles, maybe I bring this device to life, but I'm losing hope. Drivers are installed correctly (I think so) and computer recognized unknown device (with problems) - I can't do nothing.

look
go back to the kindle fire utility and choose option 1 then choose the option with the 4000 number and thats it.
Ok, you're right! Kindle Fire change bootmode from 4000 (normal) to fastboot (4002). When I plug and unplug device, computer doesn't recognize it. But when I turn on device and connect to computer - it works! I can see ADB Composite ADB Interface.
Thanks for all reply .
Good

Is it up and running m8?:good:
I'm having this same problem with the computer not recognizing the kindle as it is stuck on the boot screen. However, nothing I do gets the computer to recognize that the KF is plugged in. Further, after initially only being frozen on the KF boot screen, now when I plug in the KF it just flashes the "Kindle Fire" screen over and over, shutting itself on and off in an endless loop. Computer can't recognize the KF, none of the utilities pick it up and I don't know how to go back and uninstall the drives because the device itself won't even show up on my computer. Everyone who has this boot screen problem seems to fix it by changing to or from fastboot, but my device doesn't seem to be able to communicate with the computer at all any more. Suggestions?

Do you have TWRP or any other bootloader installed?
Hello, I have a stock Kindle HD 8.9 from best buy that seems to have seized up. It's not rooted, I was hoping I might be able to root it to bring it back to life.
When I turn on the kindle it stops at the kindle fire logo and looks like the logo is being lit up by a light streak that scrolls across the logo. This repeats until the battery dies.
When I plug the kindle the computer via USB, the computer makes a single noise that sounds like it is trying to find the device and then Windows attempts to find drivers. Windows then errors out and says the device driver cannot be found.
If I look in the device manager I do not see any Kindle devices. If I show hidden devices I can see JEM-PVT-Prod-04 in a faint gray color with a grey question mark next to it. Through downloading and installing USB drivers found on this site I was able at one time to get this to change to Android USB device. It never changed from the faint gray color. I uninstalled the drivers and restarted since updating the drivers did not seem to address the issue. I have seen mentions in many threads about yellow triangles but I have never seen that.
I believe read on the FAQ that if there is some indication of power or booting, then the device might be able to be recovered. I'm just not seeming to have any luck with getting it to respond to the PC.
The computer is Windows 7 64bit.
I read on amazon's developer site that ADB must be enabled on the kindle before rooting. Since the kindle will not boot, I can not confirm whether it is enabled or not. I presume this is a crucial step, but I felt I should double check with others who are more knowledgeable.
Thank you for any help that may be provided.

Ah good you are able to install the drivers, that's good, leave those installed, in your case you are not wanting adb access you are wanting fastboot access to fix it, that adb interface that briefly appears is actually fastboot, so with the drivers installed you will need a copy of a utility that comes with fastboot, i recommend kindle fire first aid, open a command prompt and cd to the directory where the fastboot program is, and with is and with the device off and unpluggedt run
Code:
fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product
once the command prompt says "waiting for device", plug the kindle in, it should now go into fastboot mode and say fastboot on the screen. Now use kindle fire first aid to restore the kindle.

Stunts, thank you for the help. I had thought in my reading that the fastboot command above was only used after the android device was visible in the device driver. It appears that the fastboot command "forces" the device to become visible, if I understand correctly. The device was listed in the device manger in full color rather than the faint gray that it was before.
I found the Kindle Fire First Aid and ran that, there was a helpful link in the FAQ. When I ran the First Aid, I choose the Kindle 8.9 and the first version as I do not know what version number was on the device to begin with. The First Aid ran through its procedures and the Kindle rebooted. I seem to have a working device now.
I can't remember where, but I thought I saw something In one thread about a patch that should be applied after rebuilding the Kindle but before connecting to the Internet with it.
Under About, it says I am on system version 8.1.2_user_1211420
Am I ok to continue with the device or should I be doing some cleanup/final fixing before using it normally?

it should be fine to use now, that's just stock rooted, you might wanna consider disabling ota's or flashing another rom onto it but its fine how it is.
So I received a bricked Kindle Fire HD 7" is what I was told. I am not sure on that so I looked at the model number on the back and it says it is model #P48WVB4. I don't know anything about it other than when I boot it up it goes to a screen that says Fire Updating...Starting Applications and it has hung there for over 4 hours...it won't go past that screen. I bought a fastboot cable and I plug it in and it does boot the tablet into fastboot on my computer but I am at a loss as to what to do now. I would love ANY and ALL help for those that can point me in the right direction. Thanks so much. :good:
By the way when plugged into my computer (Windows 10) using Fastboot cable it comes up under other devices and Soho-PVT-Prod-07 with a yellow triangle and exclamation point. Would really LOVE to get this Fire working for my son.
P.S. Apologies if in wrong forum wasn't sure which forum as I am not sure on the device.
I got it up and running and working. Hallelujah!

Congrads!!
Question though. I can't get my windows 10 laptop to recognize that I have my Kindle Fire HD 3rd Gen (2013) connected via a fastboot cable. In device manager it says "Soho-PVT-Prod-07" with yellow icon, meaning no drivers installed. So I install the "correct drivers" downloaded from the amazon site and it still says not recognized. Though Windows says the drivers are loaded and when I connect the Kindle it stays on the "Soho-PVT-Prod-07" and never changes to ADB device or whatever it's supposed to change to.
Any ideas?
