Not sure if it has been better for others but communication from Samsung Uk has been abysmal. I had several calls and emails regarding the exchange but never received a date or information regarding how it was to happen. I had a number of email after 19th September advising me to contact Samsung if a date hadn't been given for the exchange. The same story was told each time, that someone would be in touch. On one call the adviser told me that I must contact the service provider and she just couldn't understand that the phone was purchased directly from Samsung. An email also contained instructions how to back up your phone which actually showed how to transfer data from your old phone to the new using Smart Switch - what courier would wait while you did that? Eventually I was given a number to contact the exchange department and was at last given a date of Monday 3rd October and that someone would contact me with the procedure which would include return of everything originally delivered. I wouldn't be able to exchange at the Samsung store - it had to be done through the courier although I was previously advised that I could chose. The replacement was delivered 29th September !!!
I have received a £20 voucher - hardly covers phone calls never mind time !
Surely a company like Samsung can do better than this.
Never mind, the phone (bomb version and replacement) is fantastic - best ever in my opinion.
sorry to hear about your experience, in my case, I first contacted Samsung Samsung via chat, useless, but, Registered my product, later, I went directly with my service provider, but they only told me that they didnt have the protocols for the exchange, so I waited, later I received a call from samsung, then, they gave the known alternatives, refund, exchange, or an s7 edge, and a date to receive an exchange, 30th sept, two days later my provider called, telling me exctly the same, but urging me to take the phone to them before 30th sept, I did it, and they will replace the phone on 4th Oct, all this with Telcel Mexico
yes really bad service from Samsung.....
The initial reaction and response from Samsung impressed me. Normally companies deny any such problem. Remember its a tiny tiny % of phones that have gone bang. Of course that's one too many, however for a major company to throw their hands in the air and admit their was a problem, impressed me especially knowing the fruity brand was due to release its new mobile. The timing couldn't have been worse for Samsung. Not to mention the beginning of a saga for us!
Where the problems started was the call back was NOT made 'official' so different Samsung importers handled the situation in different ways causing mass confusion.
I don't think two countries world wide have handled the situation in the same way and that's an awful problem that has lead to customers being messed about, confused and frustrated thus causing Samsung to lose an awful lot customer good will.
Do you realise I have yet to receive my FIRST free gift being the VR head set? Some posters here moan and groan about not having compensation etc, I still await the fulfillment of my initial order placed way back in August! Samsung have not made things easy for themselves at all. Its been a bloody nightmare here. Thank heavens the new replacement is a great mobile. If it had not been I have zero idea what I would have done BUT you may well have read about it in the news papers! Sort of, "Samsung importer has emergency operation by proctologist" etc.

Same here, TERRIBLE experience from samsung.com. I've been calling those idiots many many times since they started the #galaxynote7 recalls. Every time when I called, they always says, "you'll be getting the return shipping label in 3-5 day. Now. a month gone by, still no mail from samsung. Good thing that I paid through paypal. I filled dispute charges. 10 days later NO respond from Samsung.com.
Nowwww drum roll........ Paypal refunded me back $925.43.

Update:
2/16/2011: Issues Resolved
Appears that these issues have been resolved. ChiChi Tech Co./hTC Express has finally responded to my many emails (Google Checkout was most likely the catalyst for the responses I received, as I notified them of the issues,) and ChiChi Tech Co. apologized for the errors that the system generated, which included phantom orders, emails confirming additional charges and orders.
No reasons given for the lack of timely and accurate responses early on, but no matter as I consider these issues resolved.
I have withdrawn my Dispute filed with Google Checkout.
In addition, ChiChi Tech has offered to ship a charger gratis.
I just had a very bad experience, or rather I am in the middle of a very bad experience with hTC Express/Chichitec, the suppliers of the 1800mAh batteries in addition to other accessories.
This company does not >
1) correspond to emails in a timely fashion, or with accurate information, if they even take the time to correspond
2) does not look up information regarding your order
3) replies with generic responses
4) places orders without Authorization
5) charges your account without Authorization
6) Ships orders 2 days later, even if you cancel the order within minutes of placing it
This company is one of the most horrendous companies I have ever dealt with.
I placed an order for (2) 1800mAh batteries, and then canceled the order minutes later because I was going to place the order with Amazon.com as I thought I may have better recourse in case I needed Customer Service to intervene regarding the order or product after receiving it.
I sent numerous emails and placed a call to customer service and left a vmail regarding the cancellation of the order within minutes of placing it.
I also put an item in my cart but did not place the order.
2 days later, I was sent an email that the original order was charged for, and the order was shipped.
I then received another email that a 2nd order (which was never placed) was charged for and also shipped.
I sent emails again regarding >
1) the shipment of a canceled order
2) the charge for and shipment of a 2nd order which was never authorized by me.
I received a response that if 2 orders were shipped, I can refuse 1 order, and that I would be credited for it.
You cannot refuse a USPS 1st class delivery as it is shipped with the general mail.
HTCExpress never looked up the information regarding these supposed orders, and gave me a generic response. They didn't even take the time to research this Issue. Unauthorized charges are a Very important Breech in my book. I sent them another email regarding refusal is not possible and I need them to take the time and look up my account information to tell me specifically what has occurred. Because at this time I have no idea.
I notified Google Checkout to get them involved as I was not getting any help from the Seller.
It appears that hTCExpress is located in China or Taiwan or thereabouts even though they say they ship the batteries from California. They sent the email at 1:30a, and their lack of response and lack of the English language make me believe they are located outside of the USA. If I would have known this, I definitely would have never attempted to place the order from them in the first place.
You never know how reputable a company is until you have an issue. Any company can take your money and ship an item. The way a Company handles and resolves Issues is very important. And so far hTCExpress/Chichitec has failed miserably.
I will see how this is eventually resolved. So much time wasted so far, and I am not even done yet.
if they charged your credit card or debit card just call the card company and tell them you didnt authorize the charge and they will reverse the charges.
At this point, I have no idea what exactly is going on due to non accurate response from the seller.
I received email notification that the 1st order was charged for and shipped. This was the order I canceled within minutes of placing it, that was shipped 2 days after I canceled it. Yet I don't see charges on Google Checkout.
The 2nd unauthorized order was placed, charged and shipped without my Authorization. I also received email confirm of this, and I see this order charge on Google Checkout.
I will have to call my credit card company to see what charges were put through.
hTCExpress is very unresponsive without any accurate information.
Google checkout appears to not have any protection for their customers as PayPal does. No wonder hTC Express is using them. I still have filed a complaint with Google Checkout even though the info page says to file a complaint with the seller. How do you do that when they don't respond??
As you say, I will get my credit card involved to let me know what was charged for and what was not, as the Seller is of no help.
The bad part is that hTC Express has these 25% restock policies etc. But that is why I canceled this order days before it was shipped. Yet they shipped it, or rather USPS was notified of shipment, but it was not shipped yet. That is why all this should not even be an issue. But hTCExpress is most likely located overseas which is one of the reasons for their non handling of this issue.
They can take an order and charge for it, and make unauthorized charges, yet they cannot cancel an order.
yes, you can refuse a first class usps shipment. as long as its not opened. just write return to sender on it. gotta say it sounds like you are a bit to blame on this one. also just because all your seeing is usps was notified does not mean it hasn't been shipped yet, i ship out about 100 packages a day and quite often usps misses scans or has delayed tracking info.

i'm going to have to disagree~... i placed my order on thursday last week, and recieved both them on monday~... i mean fast!!!.. both batteries work like they should, and as expected... were even 60% charged when i put them first in~.... ..so i got them last night.. charged to 100... then pulled off at 755pm.... and went to bed..as im writing this post.... with btooth, and gps running...... it is a work phone, so i use it throughout the day... i'm sitting at 66% left with 12hrs 9 mins in~....
sorry you got a lemon of a deal~..
@ OneStepAhead
"gotta say it sounds like you are a bit to blame on this one."
??
Hmm....
The Only thing I am to be blamed for is placing the order in the 1st place. I canceled the order within minutes of placing it.
Htc express >
- did not respond to my emails in a timely fashion
- responded to my numerous emails generically 3 days later without looking up the info of my original order (order placed 2/10, generic response received 2/13)
- ignored my cancellation emails
- sent me a confirm email stating that the original order was charged for and shipped 2 days later.
- sent me a confirm email that a phantom 2nd order was charged for and shipped
After notifying Google Checkout, htc express (within an hour) finally researched my account history. This was part of their response >
"After search our system, we could confirm your credit card has been charged one time only. You placed order on Feb.10th, but our system sent you a notice on Feb 12th right after the order has been shipped. This is a system error and it would not affect to your original order"
They continued and ask me "to please cancel the dispute with Google Checkout as soon as soon as I can."
- They did not explain why a 2nd order was put through.
- They did not explain why I received an email that a 2nd charge was put thru
- They did not explain why I received an email that the 2nd order was shipped
- They did not explain why my cancellation requests immediately after placing the 1st order were ignored
- They did not explain why it takes an email to Google Checkout to get htc express to get off their arses to do what they should have done in the 1st place.
- htc express is a failure as a Company when it comes to responding to Customer emails regarding cancellations of orders immediately after placing them
- htc express is a failure as a company when it comes to responding to any customer queries in a timely and accurate fashion
- htc express is a failure as a company when they put through orders that were never Authorized
- htc express is a failure as a company when it comes to researching a customer's account history
- htc express is a failure as a company when it comes to explaining important issues that are raised like confirmation emails of unauthorized orders and charges.
And only when Google Checkout is notified, do they than respond, which is what I thought would happen when I contacted Google Checkout.
I have dealt with many Online and Brick & Mortar companies, and hTC Express is at the top of the list as one of the Worst companies I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. Right up there with HP (Hewlett Packard)
I am also in the telecommunications business and deal with customers all the time, and Customer Service is Top Priority.
As I said, a Company is only as good as their Customer Service. Usually a Customer never has to deal with the Customer Service Department of a Company, as usually an order is placed, charged for and shipped. The customer receives the product and usually everything is good to go.
It is when there is an issue, can you tell the true worth of a Company regarding how they handle and respond to the issue.
I had a similar issue with them. I just disputed the transaction through paypal and they fixed the problem pretty quickly.

The only option at checkout for me was Google Checkout.
When I clicked on Paypal, nothing on the screen. I tried it 3x, but the only payment option was GC. Wonder why?
I should have stopped right there
Btw, similar issues with www.fommy.com
I confirm an item description via email and phone conversation. And the item on the web has a picture as per description and verification. BUT low & behold, when I received the item, the P/N is different. What a surprise!
fommy apologizes and asks me to ship item back at my expense for a refund. I do, but have yet to hear a response of receipt of item or credit back to cc after 2 emails.
A link.........yeah, maybe. Don't deal with overseas companies from China/Taiwan, at least when it comes to smart phone accessories.
I know better, but the shipping from the USA threw me off, as it sounds like they are based in the US.
The kicker is I have items shipped from Oversea like the Netherlands, Taiwan and GB without issues. And the Customer Service is Fantastic! But those purchases are for Flashlights (cpf, cpfmp) and such, by smaller companies or individuals who take pride in not only their Work, But their Customer Service regarding any issues that may arise. And their Communications are excellent regarding responses, shipping, etc...........
Has anyone been charged by Sprint for their Airave when it malfunctions? We got a free Airave a year ago due to our poor in house signal. It worked fine until about 3 weeks ago, and lights started flashing. We following tech support's instructions and they finally said it was malfunctioning and that they would send us a new one. When we got the new one (it only took about 3 days) we were to package the old one back up in the same box and send it via UPS back to them. Well, everything was fine until our last bill which showed we were being charged $125 for an Airave "Damaged Beyond Repair." Several calls have not resolved this issue as of now, but they are saying it the warehouse classified it this way, due to corrosion.

One supervisor said it was probably corrosion or liquid damage, but the waiver request came back denied without an explaination, only that it was DBR and she wouldn't or couldn't say what of the 5 items my device was classified for.

UPDATE: A call back from a different tech we talked to upchanneled the issue to his manager and that person made a decision that the charge was "unjustifiable" and gave us a $125 credit. The whole thing was weird, but now I won't going to Verizon over it after all.

Thanks for the update, put "SOLVED" in the thread title. Sucks that you had issues, Sprint reps have usually been very nice when I call, but then theres always the one a** that has to mess it up.
I would've replied to this, but I dont even have an Airave haha

Not sure if you're a new user to the Airave or not but I figured I had better share this.
Oct. 2011 my wife and I switched carriers from a local carrier to Sprint, against my better judgement. I was a long time loyal Sprint customer from 1991-2002 until the digital switch. When we signed up this time we both got the Nexus S 4g. Thank God, because the only thing that saved us was the ability to use Google Talk over Wi-Fi throughout the next period of time.
I was working out of town 5 days a week and home on weekends at the time and from October to December Sprint nearly ruined my marriage and effectually ruined my good name and the state of my account standing because they simply could not get the two devices to communicate properly. We were experiencing things like missed calls, missed texts, no notifications of either, if missed call left a voicemail we would not be notified, texts would arrive 12+ hours after they were sent and Sprint decided we needed to implement an Airave in BOTH locations to improve reception. Unfortunately getting my roommate while working to cooperate with Sprint was virtually impossible, in hindsight, I'm glad he didn't.
Sprint never disclosed that every call going through the Airave was actually changed to an Airave usage minute that came off our then small plan because we were enjoying the unlimited mobile to any mobile minutes. It didn't matter if you were calling a mobile or a Sprint mobile even... every minute through an Airave ate away at your plan minutes. Our $169.00 bill became over $1000.00 in far less than a month. The use of it did decrease our connection issues but throughout the course of troubleshooting with support, executive services and engineers we determined the reason it helped is because the Airave had a single, hardwired MSID that all calls through it used that matched the cellular number that it was assigned. Because it isn't a mobile device it's MSID didn't have to differ from it's mobile number.
Sprint reluctantly refunded the majority of the excess charges, added the unlimited calling feature to the Airave and credited us for it's addition throughout the remainder of our contract and promised not to charge us an early term fee should we decide to take our service elsewhere. From October through April 2012 each my wife and I received 2 replacement NS4G's in spite of the fact that we asked to try something different back on October 10th and was REFUSED believe it or not because of HOW our order was placed. It was a web order that required an instore reservation and for some reason the store cancelled the web order and placed an entirely new order now requiring a deposit where my web order did not. In less than a week of receiving our 3rd NSG4 each, in March of 2012 we both knew the devices still weren't working and with the help of a couple engineers within Sprint, not only did we find the problem we also determined that Sprint was unwilling to admit it and certainly unwilling to address it or repair it.
In our area, our devices have their cellular number and an MSID that differs from it. When I would place a call to my wife, my MSID would receive it's necessary approval from the DSLAM but then the DSLAM proceeded to record a second, different MSID that it randomly assigned to me, her or our communication as you would have it depending on who was initiating the call. Then when the equipment handed off the approved network communication to the receiving end, the second fictitious MSID was handed off and not the originating MSID and because it had no actual communication associated with it, it would simply not notify the receiving party of any call, text or voicemail whatsoever. Not only that, but when the receiving DSLAM received the communication, it recorded a third, altogether different MSID through some dynamic assignment I would assume.
Starting in Feb or Mar Sprint then decided we needed to try new numbers with new devices which was this 3rd NS4G, assuring us both that neither of us would lose our original number since we ported them in, never receiving the benefit of the $125.00 port in credit they claimed we received back in December. All I remembered was a $400.00 bill in December 2011. We tried it and they found even with the new numbers the same MSID issue was going on which prompted the next decision they made which included different devices.
Sprint finally decided to try different devices sending us both used Galaxy S II E4GT's that we were told would be new. By this time, I was no longer working out of town and because we were no longer away from each other and I wasn't using my phone near as much the trouble wasn't seen as often so when we got the new devices it was almost like the issue was non existent. However, the several times I did travel the issue resurfaced immediately. I video taped the opening of the "NEW" devices because they both showed up in a FedEx bubble pack flexible envelope in tiny little boxes with batteries free floating in the envelop in their own plastic bags. No chargers, no headsets, no documentation, no disk with drivers, and no retail box. Both phones had cosmetic damages that appeared to be scuffs. Nicks in the plastic cases on the edge near the glass display and when we registered them on Samsung dotcom, I was sure to use the live representative to do so to make sure it was all documented. We were assured by Samsung that we wouldn't have any trouble receiving warranty service for a year.
Still experiencing the issue with different devices, new numbers and actively engaged engineers calling us to test services we thought for sure they would finally get the issue resolved. Then the time came to put our numbers back where they belong as promised and somehow miraculously Sprint not only lost my number but they continued to hold it hostage until December 2012 when the VP of Consumer Credit was finally forced to send me a "loaner" phone with my original number on it. She agreed to create us a new account with only our two original numbers on it sour current account wouldn't make us look like credit derelicts to any representatives we talked to for any service or support but instead of honoring her agreement, less than a week later, just following Christmas, we receive a letter from Sprint Legal Department telling us we had 30 days to find another carrier since they were deciding to exercise their right to terminate our contract.
Executive services left us hanging, none of our service ever worked as expected, our bill was never repaired virtually none of their representatives were completely honest or knowledgeable and on top of all that, their executives were equally dishonest and frankly I feel damaged irreparably because that period of time I will never get back, I felt like a project manager for them every step of the way because expected call backs would almost never occur and I was constantly prodding someone to do their job in a timely fashion. Over the course of 16 months I spent over 400 hours on the phone with someone from Sprint and we shall see if the Legal department makes good on, not only repairing the account's final status or if they will decide rather to leave the account until it can be written off rather than crediting the account as it should be...
I am monitoring the reporting at the different bureaus very closely right now because if I see any notice of any delinquency I am prepared to take this even further because I am almost certain I will have no problem finding a lawyer in a defamation of character law suit.
I hope your charges don't get nearly as bad as mine did.
Good Luck.
OH, and P.S. This is for Sprint, when I finally complete the project I've been working on I am certain you, like all the other carriers and ISP's, will be interested in utilizing it's functionality because it, if as effective as I think it will be, will reduce network congestion by over 90% by changing the way transferred data is perceived by routing and switching equipment along the path. Don't think you will receive any consideration whatsoever.
I just had the same issue. Took 4 calls to get a new unit, and once I did I thought I was OK. Well my bill showing 300 plus owed said another. Called sprint, guy said it was because I had an innactive unit that I was being charged for it. As last long ad I sent it back I would not be charged, per the rep. It has been a week since I sent it back and still looking for the charge to be removed.

WOW! I was going to put [SOLVED] in this post header, but maybe I won't now after some of the other comments that had unresolved issues. Very similar. No call backs...I had to call back each day they told me a call was scheduled (and none came). But for the work of one young service rep named James, who IS a concerned and valuable agent, I would have been stuck with that charge and as of today probably would have been a Verizon customer. Note, he missed a call back due to a family emergency. My wife wrote Mr Hesse a 2 page letter (no idea if he will get it) describing this poor situation, but praising the work of young James and his manager in keeping us.
On the subject of the minutes being used by Airave, I haven't noticed that because we have land lines and don't run up cell minutes at home, but I'll be watching that now because I was unaware of that.
Recently, I called customer service twice needing support with my 360.
Both times, I spoke to custumer reps with very thick Hispanic accent. Both reps spoke broken English and not very professional. I had difficult understanding them, and vice versa.
Anyone had similar poor experiences?
Their live chat on the support website works great... and I bet you can't tell accents by people's typing too lol

As someone who had to ask for an RMA because of a dead watch, they spelt my name horribly wrong, and did not ask to spell it back to me to confirm. They only way I know that they spelled it wrong was that when the replacement package got here, my name was backwards (last name first) and horribly misspelled. I think the quality of the telephone line has more to do with this than race, as I was often left trying to guess what they had said to me because the call audio kept going in and out.
The customer service in general was pretty bad, with me being left on hold for about 15 minutes and then picked up by someone who wasn't the same gender or nationality picking up the line.

I was told when I tried to do this because I was fed up with the phone support they told me that the online chat wasn't available yet (2014-09-27ish) and that I had to call to get service.
I honestly think that their customer service is much worse now that they have gone to Lenovo.
I had to call them because my cracked back(pebble steel) and it was a pain. Chat cannot do exchange and returns.
My experience was horrible! My replacement watch was lost on Wednesday. FedEx was showing "Left at front door. Package delivered to recipient address - release authorized" The box was not found by the door.
I had to open a case with Fedex and called Motorola and give them the case number. I was transferred 3-4 times and talked to couple people...finally guy name Jose was able to send me new one and right now its showing "On FedEx vehicle for delivery". I also called to change Motorola last night to address the to my office but they said the order was sent to warehouse and its not possible to change the address.
I do not want to offend anyone but I had difficult understanding each reps and it was hard.
YMMV.
I spoke to two people, both of which spoke clear english and were totally understandable.
Then again, both of them also claimed to cancel my order, and it shipped out anyway.
So I'd say on the whole Motorola support SUCKS.
- Frank
I ordered a 360 once it got back in stock, then second guessed my purchase.
I decided I would cancel the order, so I tried to find a way to cancel on their site, there was no way. I then tried to wait for a live chat twice, both times I had to wait 40 minutes before it crapped out on me. It offered to let me email them, so I did, giving them all my order information and requesting a cancellation.
I didn't hear back for days, so I called them up, they said they would push through the cancellation, they didn't. I then got an email back from the email I sent them, they said they are still working on it. A few days later I see the charge hit my card, so I call them up, they assure me that they are going to cancel the order and I told them that is what they said last time.
I get an email back saying to call their line (of course not providing me with a phone number) because they cannot cancel the order.
Two days later the watch arrives.
Fortunately I like the watch but their customer services is the epitome of disorganized and utterly inept. Multiple phone calls, emails, etc. and they cannot do something as incredibly basic as cancelling an order.

Pretty much sums up my experience so far!
Motorola customer support has gone into the toilet so fast it's stunning. I'm currently in the middle of a 90 minute (So far) phone hold trying to get a return label that I've already requested and been promised TWICE.
Phone support has moved from the US to somewhere else, simple requests are not understood or acted on, and I get transfered around to get the most basic things done.
It's honestly become as bad as trying to cancel Sirius radio, which anyone who has been through knows is the lowest form of customer support. A stark contrast from last winter when they did a rush build and overnight shipped my fiancee's Moto X to get it to me by Christmas *without being asked to do so*.
Meet the "New, New Motorola". Not to be confused with the "New, Old Motorola".
Did you guys ever try the live chat?

Worked great for me!

I use to not deal with any company that had their support based overseas. Unfortunately today that is getting harder and harder to find. Taking jobs out of America because they don't want to pay a decent wage, and dealing with "scripted" responses to technical issues is not a way to run a company IMO.
I called customer care today to ask, when I can expect the moto 360 to be back in stock, as it was out of stock, he said I can buy it from ebay as he saw its available on ebay but a bit expensive from store... lol
Moto support, in my opinion used to be pretty great before the lenovo deal was announced. I had the front facing camera delamination issues with my Moto X, 3 different times, on 3 different phones. The first time I called, they sent me a code for a new moto x, and a free portable charger. The second time, I just sent them an email, and the next day they sent me a code for a new moto x again. The third time however, which was about a month ago, I sent an email first, and got no response. Then I tried the chat thing, and sat in a queue for 30 minutes, and then when I was number 1, it told me no one was available and disconnected me. I sent another email to their automated support and still got no response. I finally found a different email address on their facebook for support, which seems to goto American employees. I sent an email to that address, the next day a rep called me, and I had a new phone on the way to me. If you are having customer support issues don't give up just yet. Just got the same email and this paragraph makes me angry.........
"Due to this unfortunate incident and as a token of appreciation to you as our customer, we will offer you a full refund of your purchase or an exchange for any S7 range. We will also collect the defective device from your home so you don’t need to worry about returning it"
There is no "token of appreciation" here at all samsung!!! You are offering me nothing at all and that's just not on I'm afraid.
O2 are the same but worse, they have collected my not told me to contact them at least 24 hours after the call to talk an upgrade or cancellation I contacted them today nearly 48 hours after that call and basically got told they would refuse to do anything for 3-5 days until they actually had received and checked the device. they also offered no help with lost money for things like screen protectors and other accessories so needless to say I will never be using them again. they didn't even offer a token gesture discount on an alternative device.
so I've said they can go fornicate a rusty pole and and took up the 20% monthly discount my works offers on EE to get the Pixel XL.
Similarly composed letter in Estonia too.
Returned everything and disappointed. Will think not twice, but five times before buying Samsung products in future.
Makes me wonder what are they smoking to believe that europeans are happy to be treated worse than rest of the world.
I was just pushed a message which directed me to call Samsung on the 0330 number. Called them. Lines are closed even though it says open to 6pm saturday. Used the number ending in 1000, guy on the end said to power down phone and I will get a call back from them. I asked if they had thought this through. How do i get a call back without a phone to use. I need the money to buy a phone but cant get the refund until a long time after I have sent this one back.
This is going from bad to worse isn't it.
I was disappointed with Samsung about the faulty Note 7s, but I was not angry with them since they made some design or manufacturing mistakes which to an extent you could argue were out of their control. Or at the very least, which were not forseen.
But as they continue to mismanage this situation in this cack-handed way, I am most certainly starting to get angry. As stated in the thread earlier, people need time to plan for swapping their phones out. These are not toys, for which there is mild or no inconvenience if you are without it for a few days. These are serious pieces of equipment people rely upon in their daily lives.
I won't be returning mine any time soon.
I'm angry that they offered the s7e at full price. Not even a discount for our troubles. To add insult you can get the s7e cheaper elsewhere too
Most odd. In this European country the Note 7 cost 880.00€. The S7 edge cost 100.00€ LESS so hardly a fair exchange! Obvious thing to do is accept the cash back offer. Like you guys and gals I am also out of pocket big time on original Samsung accessories. Samsung in Europe have not made this an acceptable return have they. End of the day we, the consumer, have lost out on this as well as Samsung Korea.
One thing for sure, don't let the politics of the situation get in the way. Return your Note 7. Left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Ryland
its all in stages, just wait.
it was recall with refund or exchange only.
then exchange + $50 voucher
then exchange + 250 visa credit card,
and now exchange + $350 visa card, getting really hard to say no...
Mentioned the same in the other thread about UK recall.
I've tweeted them asking why it's different to the US recall.
I would be very interested to know how any complaints from guys here develop. People need to phone them and complain, get angry, threaten them by informing them you will go to every tech website and report this pathetic customer service attitude to them.
I am sick of Samsung treating the UK and Europe like we are not as important as the rest of the world. We pay more for the phone, we get less special offers, we haven't got Samsung Pay here yet, we didn't get the Note 5 and now we don't get any compensation. Just a lame email that makes it seems they are doing us a huge favour by giving us a refund! The least they could do is give us a hefty discount on the S7 Edge.
It makes me sick in the stomach.
.
so annoying .. carphone whorehouse want me to take my N7 back and have the £99 deposit back.
as far as there concerned the extra I've already been charged on my tariff doe not come into it.
so they want me to downgrade to a S7.. i had a N5 before all this which i now wish i had kept !
if i had wanted a S7 i would of bought one !!
so now its all lose lose ..
See how easy it is to complain about compensation
Guys,
I have put a post up here on XDA urging UK consumers to complain about not receiving any compensation in line with other countries.
Please take a look and please at least give it a go at following the instructions. It's really quick and simple. It may or may not get anywhere but it's certainly worth trying.

Thanks in advance.

yep how this recall has been handled in the UK is a massive joke, I've already told O2 where they can go since they refuse to release my account or let me upgrade for best part of a week, basically wanting to leave me without a phone. I realise the problem has likely happened the same with all suppliers in the UK, but I'm pissed off so I'm leaving them and going else where.
for those at carphone warehouse it should be possible to get a full refund and your contract dropped to a monthly sim only contract, they can't force you to take a alternative, it is the same reason O2 had to give the option of a full refund and potential cancellation because the phone has to be returned meaning you are not getting any goods so need a full refund for those goods, the problem with the likes of carphone warehouse is the contracts include the device charge in the service charge so you lose your monthly payments that should go towards the phone, I was slightly better off on O2 as the phones are a separate credit agreement so O2 is forced to cancel it and refund me all payments I've made on it, the problem being they are going to drag it out that long I will have made another payment they will have to refund me instead of just clearing the phone off now as it has been picked up by the courier for return.

I am one of the lucky ones I suppose. I got mine from ee one of the first to have pre ordered, the when the 1st exchange kicked in was given 50£ for my troubles and 30 quid for accessories refund. I also got free 8gb data as ee expected a delay in delivery. Second time round I was offered a choice of upgrade for the exact same deal I had on a note 7 to get a iPhone 7 plus (grr iPhone yes I know), but it's the wife who chose it as she fancied something new. Having upgraded before the handset was exchanged left ee in a dilemma as they could not then give me a loan phone because the iPhone 7 plus won't be available until end of October possibly. They then asked me to send the note 7 handset back in for the recall and wait for my iPhone 7 plus. I advised them I had no other handset. They tried all the usual please use a previous handset and I stuck to my guns. They then offered me 50 quid to purchase a new handset as a I await for the iPhone 7 and laughed back at the chap that how could I buy a handset for 50 quid. After negotiating and arguing was given 150 quid credit for a handset as a I await my iPhone 7,so definitely benefitted from this nightmare.

I think this has been an unprecedented issue for all involved especially second party networks like ee. Initially when the second recall was kicking in ee didn't know what to do, which is why I ended up getting nearly 250 quid from this whole mess so can't complain.

both recalls O2 has refused to part with a penny or even offer help in a reasonable time frame, hell just to get through to the line they said I had to phone immediately I spent over an hour on hold, honestly their customer service throughout has been terrible and a total waste of space, achieving nothing other than alienating their customers.
This is my story regarding the HTC-US 1-year free replacement phone warranty, which it failed on me. If you are currently interested in any of their phones, read my story and think again.
I live in USA. About 6 months ago, I broke my phone screen. It's still functional but hurt my finger. I filed a claim for replacing my HTC10 on 11/3/2017 as it’s still within 1-year free replacement warranty. I chose the advance exchange program and I was told I will receive a new phone about 20 days due to high volume demand at that period.
A month later, I did not receive the new phone. I wrote another e-mail to HTC. No response. I called the customer service, the person said there is something they need to sort out so they will call me back. No response. I had no other way and I need my phone to be repaired soon. I found a store to fix the cracked screen for me. That cost me $180.
Since then, I’d heard nothing from HTC. They even hold my credit card balance ($599 value) for more than 3 months. Yet, today (4/19/2018) I received a phone call from someone who claimed to be from the HTC customer service. It’s been more than 5 months.
At first, the customer service staff told me that HTC will send me a new phone with a newer model, HTC U11, with no charge. I said, "Fine, I will take it.". Then that person said you must still have your HTC 10. I said, “Sure I still have it”. Then he said I have to send my HTC10 back to the company so they can send a new phone after they received it. He emphasized, “This is company policy”. The attitude was quite rude and his English accent was kind of hard to understand. I did not agree because I need a phone at any time, and it’s currently working fine (I spent $180 to fix it). I asked why not send the phone first as the program agreed then I will mail the old one back once I received it. That person repeated the same statement and tried to force me to send the phone to them first.
The call ended unpleasantly and I didn’t agree to send the phone back to HTC because it’s too suspicious. How can I trust what you said given that I never receive the phone you promised. How could I know you will send the new phone to me if I send mine to you? Nevertheless, HTC, it’s you fail to fulfill the agreement, which originally, you said you will send me a new phone within 14-20 days. I have the original chat transcript.
I felt very disappointed after receiving that phone call. I really thought I've let it go because my phone is now working fine. But that call with a very rude attitude makes me angry. It doesn't sound they want to settle the dispute but force me to give up the claim. I really couldn’t believe that’s how HTC treats its loyal customer (I’ve bought more than 8 HTC phones). I will post this anywhere on cell phone related forums and report to BBB as well. I hope these actions will get HTC attention and hope they will learn when people start taking action on them.
I hope my story warn you the bitter truth even it's coated sugar. I hope everyone really knows what they spend money for.
HTC has two ways of doing exchanges, one is where you send the phone back and get a new one. Second is they send you the phone under the pretense that you place a hold on your credit card and send them the old phone after you get the new one.
I also had a big issue with HTC, they took over 3 months to send me a new phone (although they did place a hold on my account the same day i filed a claim)
Eventually I did get my phone back. They claimed that the reason it took so long was because they were moving their repair center to Texas, and soon after a hurricane hit Texas, which delayed the process even more.
I agree, they take way too long

Took 5 months for me. They prematurely charged my card instead after having my card on hold for 3 months. Since I haven't received the phone and they already billed me (it actually posted instead of pending), I wasn't going to be paying it on my credit card bill, it was an easy charge back win. I got my money back, I finally got a new refurbished phone 2 months after. Since I got my money back, I closed my card and felt no longer obligated to send my old phone back. Never going back to HTC devices. Moved on to Samsung, which isn't any better in terms of warranty, but it's not any worse.
Guys thanks for your replies.
As I start to research this issue, I've found more bitter in their game. It seems many people didn't even receive their phones back after sending their phones to HTC for replacement if they intended to use the so-called "HTC UH OH™ Protection" program. If they asked for a repair, some of them might have to wait for several months (or in some extreme case, a year) to get their phone back. This is really ridiculous.
What terrifies me is that they have done this for years but no one had ever won a situation like this even once.
Besides BBB, is there any other customer protection group or foundation that might help a situation like this? Have you guys ever heard any winning case?

I won, I got a free phone from them. All I had to do was make a call to my credit card provider. They took care of it all for me.
