Hi guys!
TL;DR at the end.
After posting on here a while back, asking for advice about the Epic 4G touch, I decided to buy the phone.
However, i'm having a problem. One of my biggestt decisions to get this phone was that, as far as I could find online, the phone was equally good at 4G as my old EVO and capable of doing WiFi hotspot without too much trouble.
Last night I got my new phone, set it up, rooted it, installed CWM, and then set myself up with the Blazer ROM, which I really like.
Blazer comes with the "sprint hotspot hack" so the builtin Hotspot app works fine.
Yay!
Except, it uses battery even faster than my EVO Did. with my old EVO, I could hook up the phone to my laptop via USB to charge it and use hotspot at the same time. It would still maintain 100% (roughly) charge even while broadcasting the wireless network, as long as it was plugged in.
This is not the case with 4G touch.. It steadily loses battery while using the HotSpot, even while charging! this is unacceptable as I use my hotspot for hours at a time.
What can I do? Is this an issue with the blazer ROM? Is there something I can do to make it charge faster? ?Use less battery? Would using a 3rd party hotspot app (like WiFi tether) consume less battery?
TL;DR
Hotspot uses too much battery even while plugged in and charging. What do?

Is there no way you could you the AC charger do you have to use the USB? Also try placing you phone down screen first and taking the back cover off to allow the access heat to escape.
Have you tried USB tethering instead? Dunno if that is unlocked in blazer or not..
If bringing the adapter with me will make the difference, then I will start doing so
I tried out using the Wireless Tether app instead of the built in sprint hotspot, and I noticed that the Wireless tether app uses less power (so it charges while on USB instead of losing power) and also generates less heat... However it wont let me use any security protocols. If I do so, then the tether has errors and fails.
So it seems like i'ms tuck between a rock and a hard place..
Barnacles, I can't rely on the USB tether. I need it to be WiFi. T be honest, my 4G is my primary internet, even at home, so I need it to be wireless capable for myself and my boyfriend to use at the same time
Also wait a few days for the rom to settle in so you can see the full battery savings effects. also use setcpu or tegrak and Underclock/undervolt during this time and you should be fine

AC adapters usually charge the phone faster so I would recommend using those

Make sure the power rating is 1A, 5 Watts. Some are 500 or 700 mAh (even though they may be Samsung branded), those are insufficient for our phones.
LOL what kind of boyfriend leeches his internet off his girlfriend's 4G tether setup?
Tell him to get you some legit internet service
Thanks, phatman! i'll make sure i get the proper voltage.
@LordJummy: We live separately, but when we're together we both play games. So I need to have it on WiFi so we both have access. I can't afford to pay another bill on top of what I already pay, and sprint has never *****ed about my tethering, sooo.. im gonna keep using what works.
Usually the output amperage from a computer usb port is .5 amps. My suggestion is get a usb charger (for car or house) that is for the apple ipad. Those are high amperage output chargers rated at 2.1 amps. I used a standard charger while using the phone and noticed that the charger couldn't keep up with the demand for power for charging and using the phone at the same time. I got a charger for an ipad and now it can charge and I can run the phone at the same time no problem. Here's some links.

My CDMA GNex has a tiny Qualcomm 4G sticker on the bottom end near the micro usb port. Does this indicate it does not have the Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 chipset that supports WiFi Display?
Means the LTE chip is of qualcomm origin. Every Galaxy Nexus is running OMAP 4460.
Curious to compare speeds with other LG G8 ThinQ users.
I used the app "Ampere" for this.
No matter what cable (USB 2.0, 3.0 brand name, generic...) & wall charger (QC 2.0, 3.0...) combo I use or what percentage the battery is at (15% or 75%...) - the max speed seems to top out at about 990 mAh (see screenshot) which multiplied by the current voltage is usually around a little over 4W.
My phone does indicate it's "fast-charging" for wired (Aukey, Anker and Ravpower 3.0 bricks mostly) and wireless (my wireless charger can put out 15W), but I think the phone should be able to draw higher mAh (up to 18W)?
I have seen screenshots on various sites for much higher values (2070 mAH etc...).
I don't own any USB PD chargers, so I can't comment on speeds with those.
Anyone measure wireless charging speed?
I try on my P4 XL and P6
Useing same MI 10w charge pad
And get 660mA on Pixel 4 XL,360mA on Pixel 6
Is that normal?or my Pixel 6's wireless charging is broken?
Anybody can test wireless charging speed on Pixel 4XL and Pixel 6 to see different?
Same problem probably with more detail https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/anyone-else-having-a-time-with-wireless-charging.4357165/
I recently sold a PC to a client with great specifications; I am talking 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, 1TB SSD , AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor and NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3070 8GB. Naturally, the first thing expected to be done by the PC is Gaming; sadly, it underperforms with CPU TDP limited at 15W on power and Refresh rates not going past 100Hz( it supports 144Hz).
This happens even at max settings on the NVIDIA control panel. What might be the issue? Anyone else undergoing through the same problem?
