I would have the shop upgrade it. If there is a problem then don't buy it. Only a fraction have the hardware issue, maybe 10%

Your phone automatically will install the updates so you will be fine. And if you have a problem you have a 1 year warranty.

Yeah if you are in the US and bought it from a UK 'grey market' dealer then Samsung will not recognize your purchase or honor your warranty here in the US.

Good question and Im not 100% sure but Samsung's warranty system is country specific, so if you bought a phone in the UK and tried contacting the Samsung in your country they wouldnt honor it. If you bought from Handec or Expansys, etc they can still mail your phone back to the UK for a warranty exchange but that can take a long time and you would be responsible shipping/repair costs.
Samsung's site is not the best.
When I had to register my Galaxy Tab 10.1 to send in for repairs because of Newton Rings, it would not let me register device. It would say it was a valid S/N and than the next screen would say it does not recognize the S/N. I had to call them and they had to put it in the system on my behalf.

If it is under warranty, go to your nearest VZW store. They should hook you up with a replacement.

If they say no, then replacing it yourself is really easy. It took me 10 mins including reassembly.
I mean it didn't solve the problem, my phone still won't charge but it was an easy install.
Let me know what Verizon says I have the same issue

Just get hands on my new nexus 7 (2013) from Bestbuy, but it has no Camera app, and after I install one it shows that I have no rear camera!!!
How can I deal with it?
PS: I live in China and this model was from USA.
Are you sure you didn't get the 2012 version? Do you see a camera lens on the back?

I would try doing a factory reset and flash newest stock if you can. Most likely it is a defective unit and it will have to be replaced... Its going to be tough if you got it imported.

You're right, I had an ASUS gaming laptop and they are definitely a PITA to work with!
Good reason to buy from Google, I suppose.
The downside to buying from Google is that you have to pay taxes if you buy from Google (at least in my location).

Did you try downloading a different camera app from the market to see if you get the same error? That way you can rule out software.

hello,
some months ago i've seen this pic here: http://cdn.ndtv.com/tech/images/gadgets/samsung_android_444_update_roadmap_xda_leak.jpg [/urll]
this pic told us that we could expect the 4.4.4 update in november 2014
but now it is january 2015!
now i dont know: will this phone really get android 4.4.4?
it would be cool if it does get the update, because than we would able to port more note 4 apps =D
and my hopes for android lollipop become completly lost, even though the note 2 will get it
and does somebody know what ETA exactly means?

WIll do. The technician is expected tomorrow.
I got a visit from the Amazon person, but he wasn't a technician or an engineer. He told me that he will wait for 10 minutes to see if the phone reboots else will say that it is fine. Alternatively he could perform a factory reset and will then wait. But no tests (not even app based hardware tests).
If he would write that the phone was working fine, I wouldn't have got a replacement. Had to go on a phone call with Amazon and finally managed to convince them to replace, which I think was a good decision. Just before performing the factory reset (to return to Amazon), I noticed that the touch was becoming slightly sluggish.
I hope that the replacement does not give me any problem.
Thanks guys for your help!
