Galaxy Note 7 duos FD version replaced - Note 7 Questions & Answers

Has anyone replace his Note 7 duos device?
Has anyone informations about when is going to be available for replacement the NOTE 7 duos FD version in dubai or everywhere else?
I have read something about 1 to 16 October...
Is that true? 1,5 mounth to replace a device? Are people of Samsung getting crazy...

It depends what region the phone was supposed to be sold in and who you bought it from. If you bought it first hand from an authorized Samsung reseller or Samsung direct in the phone's correct region they'd be the ones to help you. If you bought it from eBay, a third party non-authorized reseller, and out of its selling region you're in the same gray area a lot of people here are. Good luck regardless.

I know my friend...
I'm just asking if they have all ready new devices ready for replacement FD duos version in dubai or anywhere...

I guess, in Singapore they replaced them since last week.
Someone from there here online?

I have read somewhere that FD duo's version in Dubai will be avaliable in 16 October for replacement ....is that true?

Dubai: 25th Sep onwards

Today communication with Samsung gulf told me that Note 7 duos are all really in stores for sale .....not replacement units just new for sale...

People in the samsung community have been able to replace their FD models in Dubai for a few days now.

Yes that's great....Here in Greece samsung Greece full refund as for all non European devices so now we waiting to see the new units to online store's to buy them again..

there no such as international warranty for samsung smartphone afaik.
Samsung does not have international warranty, it applies to all countries.
What a shame Samsung sails phones with faulty chip and not accept the warranty.

Why are you blaming Samsung? This isn't their fault, they are just following policy. You would get the same from any other maker.

You can make the greatest product, have the greatest components and the best quality control. If you make enough product, sooner or later you will make bad parts.
If I buy a $2,000 + lens for my camera with a Japan warranty, I can't get warranty work here in the usa. I know this and don't but any of my lenses that aren't usa based.

I was conned by a shop too (in my home country) who sold a grey market item at full price, when my Note 2 got SDS I ended up having to pay US$100 to get it fixed. The phone was only 8 months old when SDS struck. I travel a lot and often bought items in the countries I visited. I realized warranty will be local but I expect the items will be usable for at least 3 years, however my Note 2 died after only 8 months of normal usage (e-mail, browsing, youtube). The phone even was at the latest stock 4.1.2 rom (supposedly contains the bug fix) when it died.
SDS is clearly a manufacturing defect issue, it happens to Galaxy S3 and Note 2 and who knows maybe Note 3 or S4 in next few months.. So many people were complaining about it on the Internet, it should be enough to warrant a product recall or replacement regardless of country of purchase.
This is gonna be my last Samsung phone.

I m in singapore.
First of all, did u bought from authorised samsung retailer ?
Or u just bought it at neighbourhood shops like in shophouses or chinatown shops, or simlim shops?
To make a very clear, if u bought it at samsung authorised retailer, there's no way they con u. Down here consumer is fully protected by lemon law. So official retailers won't do such thing.
If u r sayin the price is $750 most likely u were not buying from authorised dealer, and u r being con by the individual shop.
But to be frank, since first time I use handphone, nokia, siemens, samsung, there's no such thing as international warranty.
I m sorry, but a lesson learn for u.

This is different is not the same. Samsung sailed faulty devices and rejected the warranty. The problem was known from s3 and they continued to sell the same faulty material probably because they had big stock. Here we heard from users that they send them phones to warranty replacement and the phone many times came back with the same type faulty chip. This is totally wrong and there is no excuse for them.

1) Samsung does not offer international warranties - this is clear in their warranty agreement.
2) The buyer of the phone was lied to by the seller, not Samsung.
3) Samsung did not "reject" the warranty, they'll gladly repair it in the country is was purchased in.
Most international electronic companies have a policy that the device will be serviced in the country it was purchased in. This avoids grey market product and is far more manageable from a service standpoint.

Sorry mate.
Not defending samsung, neither working for samsung. But, from a point of businessman view, when his/her company has produce some fault products, he/she won't throw away the products.
Instead they will still try to sell until the products stock is zero, and if any customer come back with a valid warranty, his/her company will honour it. That is what business world like.
The case of the OP is different, he has been con by unauthorised reseller by confirming him there's an international warranty for the said product if purchase from the said retailer.
And the OP has carelessly accept it without any further checking on the warranty card.
We, as a consumer have to be more careful in purchasing the products that we want.

OK you speaking from a point of businessman, my profession is trader many years now, sometimes not many i had received faulty goods, at once I had return them back to factory and when this wasn't possible I used them or I gave them presents to my friends but never sailed them and if something faulty I didn't understood and went to my customers I changed it at once with no more questions and I asked to excuse me for them hardship. You speak like businessman you said, you think this guy he'll buy Samsung again or you think he'll keep his hardship for himself. The successful business is when is happy the customer with the product and how much flexible you are when he has any problem with it. The happy customer he'll come again and bring and others to your business. This is the law of the market if you want to stay for long.
Now if you are sailing faulty hi end devices and you have the knowledge of this and after you are saying sorry I can't accept your warranty because of my policy sorry but this is naming cheating in my country not company policy.

I can't be more agree abt the market law.
But if ur money is all invested on the faulty products, will u just throw or give as a gift?
What u can do is just to honor ur customer when they come back to u.
Samsung will still honor OP handset, provided he brings back to singapore samsung.
Same thing... when ur customer bring ur product overseas, will u change at his/her country? Or will u ask him/her to bring back to u?

In all countrys except ones from the European Union there is a warranty specific to each country. In the EU there is a free market and that is why the warranty of an electronic device bought from any of the EU countrys is valid in any country part of EU.

Where to Buy? Canada, Hong Kong or Taiwan?

I will be in Hong Kong from September 10 to 24 with a 3 night layover in Taiwan. I have been looking for the price of the device in Taiwan but I have not been able to find it. I called a shop in Hong Kong who told me their version is Snapdragon not Exynos.
Question:
The CDN version has the $200 off trade in phone promo. Obviously in Asia there is no promo for that, however there is really no tax in Asia.
Anyone know the price of the device in Taiwan? Is it worth paying a premium ($200 ish more) for an Exynos model? Anyone know where I can buy it when I'm in Taiwan; I can't find web stores from Taiwan providing information re: this.
If I buy in Asia, can I get warranty servicing from Samsung in Canada?
Thanks!

I dont think sammy Canada will warranty service a non Canadian device though or even if they can as the hardware is slightly different.

The international warranty is only mentioned in the South Korea website. The Canadian website has no mention of it.
I guess make sure to check what kind of warranty is offered in the country of purchase because there may be differences.

I just realized that the link I provided says "Samsung Mobile Computer" not mobile phone. I think we should check the fine print before purchasing abroad, if that's important. If I call Samsung Canada's warranty servicing and get an answer I will post it.
Here is my conversation with SS online:
C: Hypothetically, if I purchased a Samsung phone abroad, and there is a problem with it, can I submit the repair to Samsung Canada?
SS: Thank you for waiting. I'll be with you in just a moment.
SS: No, if you have purchased the phone abroad and would like to get it repaired in different country, you need to contact local service technicians. Samsung will not repair the phones purchased that are purchased in different countries.

Canadian Swiftronic import order/recall info

I thought it might be good to consolidate the info/correspondence regarding our Swiftronics Note 7 order and recall process. Post here if you ordered from Swiftronics and if you have any information to share. Should we need to fight for our return/recall, we can work together to ensure they adhere to the Canadian consumer safety laws (I've done a little reading on this).
Some info:
Swiftronics has been selling the Singapore (SG) international variant.
Last I talked to them they seemed to imply that they were exempt from the global recall, but they were awaiting word from their supplier.
They offer a 3 day return policy with a 10% restocking fee if the product is used or opened. They do cover return shipping if the device is deemed defective (this would probably be our means of getting a free return)
They have been quick to reply and generally friendly, so I encourage you to contact them yourself if you have any questions!
I will add my info later today after work.
I'm looking forward to seeing peoples experience with this company as well.
Got the same response from Swiftronic today. I also called 1-800-SAMSUNG. According to them, there's still no official procedure as to how they will handle replacements in Canada. All the major carriers are handling it in their own way. IE, will replace or refund any Note 7's. In our case (those of us who bought the international variant), we may be covered by a Samsung replacement procedure once it becomes official. The rep said all future communications will be available through http://www.samsung.com/ca/news/. They also took down the IMEI of my device and gave me a case ID for me to follow up. I think the last thin Samsung want is for a phone sold in another region blowing up and having the customer say they had no way of exchanging it.

Thanks for contributing! When I reached out to Samsung I got the impression that we would have to go to the seller. See below:
"Hello,
I purchased the exynos international variant from a Canadian retailer. I am wondering what will be the process for the recall in Canada in this specific instance. Will Canadian repair centres stock the international variants to replace the device with the same model within Canada? How will we go about initiating our replacement?
Counselor answer
Dear X,
Thank you for contacting Samsung Customer Care.
I have reviewed your email and observe that you purchased international model Samsung Galaxy Note 7 with exynos processor. You would like to know what is the procedure for replacement for your phone.
I would like to inform you that for Canadian model devices, the details of the program will be announced shortly and posted on the website.
As yours is an international model, I would request you to contact the place of purchase for replacement procedure. We appreciate your understanding on this.
The latest communication from Samsung as of Sept. 2nd reads "We will share additional information on the Canadian Replacement program in the coming days. In the meantime, Canadian Customers may call 1-800-SAMSUNG for additional information." which falls in line with what the rep told me. They expect an official replacement procedure for Canada in the next couple days. As to weather we qualify or if we will get and exchange for another F/FD model or a W8 model is still up in the air I guess.

I told the rep that the seller is taking the stance that the devices they are selling are not affected by the recall. They looked into it and offered to take my IMEI and open a case ID. I really think they're trying to cover all their bases here. Like I said, I don't think they'd like it if they had an affected unit malfunction and the customer had no way to take advantage of the recall.

Just an update. Swiftronics provided me with a return shipping label without any fuss and offered to send me a replacement when it becomes available. My phone arrives today so I suppose I'll walk in, accept the package, and then immediately send it off again with the new label .
Someone from Swiftronics called me today to respond to my emails about the recall. The gist of the conversation is that Samsung has done a poor job of informing sellers about the recall. The Samsung reps apparently have no idea what the plan is for recall of our imported international variants. It sounds like the seller is making a strong effort to get some useful information out of Samsung. I will be processing the refund as soon as I receive the device today. Overall I am very happy with their communication and they have been very pleasant to deal with. I hope the new stock comes in soon!
Had the same conversation with a rep there. I'll wait for their official response. They said they should get a call back from Samsung tomorrow. Until then I've registered my imei on the Canadian exchange URL.

I would not be so sure. Apparently it's common practice not to offer warranty on gray market phones. Their website loosely cites a warranty but seems to imply it only lasts 30 days. There is no formal policy listed on the site and that does not really inspire confidence.
They contacted me again today and sent me the imei checker link from the HK site (http://support-cn.samsung.com/note7checking/en.html). They claimed that based in my imei and that site my phone is not part of the recall. I'm not sure if I believe that site for phones outside of HK. There was however a user in the Canadian thread whose imei tested positive..

Galaxy Note 7 LDU Questions

Hey everyone, I recently bought a Mint Condition, Not updated Galaxy Note 7 Live Demo Unit on eBay for $300. Would Samsung accept a return? The phone doesn't have an IMEI so I don't know how they would identify it. I'm also curios to see if anybody else has an LDU and if they've attempted to return it to Samsung.
you buying n7 without imei?? where you come from?

I decided to buy it because it was so cheap and it's an Exynos Note 7 so I thought It might be valuable
Live demo units weren't made to be sold. Samsung can receive it but won't give you any kind of refund or compensation.

I work for a business that buys sells and trades phones and recently had an LDU Note 7 fall into my possession. Just got off the phone with Sammy and I can confirm that they are indeed taking in the LDU versions, but you will be getting the minimum compensation price, which is $849. Just provide Sammy with the serial number, since there's no IMEI and they will accept the phone.

Red 5t china

has anybody tried to buy the red 5t and import it to the US. I see on the Chinese oneplus site that is sold out, but there will be another sale in a few days. Would it be possible to buy one if you don't live in China, and will the phone have US radio bands in it?

Shipping might take 3-4 weeks from China.
I bought the red edition 2 weeks ago when I visited Shanghai. The phone works well for me with GSM in Korea which are compatible with T-Mobile and ATT. I have no idea if it can use Verizon or Sprint.
looks nice in red but I have my black one from UK 128gb may be I'll buy a red case ?

I have t mobile. It looks like it has all the US lte bands when looking at the description on Allie. Does yours have Google play services. Aren't they not allowed on phones that stay in China?

D/L Oxygen OS and it comes with the Google apps. The Chinese one without Google is called Hydrogen. You flash it from stock recovery. D/L the file from the official One Plus site.
Ok. Thanks for the help
Is posible yes... the problema is that you won't warranty because is china exclusive but yea you will have all LTE bands to work pretty much in any country .
In other words is exactly the same as the Black Midnight except for the color of course lmo.

You have 2 year warranty in the US? We typically have only 12mo here. And considering I root, I usually void most warranties immediately. That was the case on my U11.
Pretty shortsighted one plus, only offering special versions to china. Or the star wars version only in india.
Id buy the red on if it was available with warranty in Canada as it looks amazing and is cheap.
They really dont seem to worry much about the customers in north america unfortunately.
Wondamobile has the red one with the international firmware installed on it fyi
sent from my Pixel 2 XL or Note FE

No, unlocking the bootloader/rooting the device doesnt void the warranty on oneplus devices. Thats why they're for modders. I live in germany and oneplus says i have 2 years warranty.
Now the white one will be available on the 9th. Press release came out today....
I've read in others forums that the red version is not proving to be a hit in China. Geekbuying are selling https://www.geekbuying.com/item/One..._content=&utm_campaign=DMCAH_holiday_20180104

I chatted with them yesterday and they will honor a 12 month warranty for those that live in the US. I was going to order one today, but decided to try my chances at getting the white one directly from Oneplus. Well, I should receive the sandstone white in 3 days....
Red 5t could be launched in India this Thursday as well
