Hi
Just got into recovery mode.... trying to flash ARHD ROM. Currently have LeeDroid.
Anyway, got into recovery, did a wipe data/factory reset, like I did when I flashed LeeDroid. Once it said, "Data wipe complete.", I must have pressed something and now it says, "Back menu button disabled.".
I can go up and down on the Recovery menu, but when I try to select something using the Power button, all I get is a white box with the little green Android jumping out of it !
can't power off, restart, cant select anything... and I dont think the phone is chargin when in Recovery mode ! Alas !
What to do !!
I should have all my zip ROM files still on SD card !

I faced this kind of problem few days back. Just take of your battery and again enter into ur bootloader and next recovery. Don't know more than this. Hope your issue will be solved

Try holding down the volume down button. I had this last week & holding the vol down button re-enabled it.

Pull your battery then hold the phone side ways & put it back in as soon as its back in, without even putting the side back on, hold the volume down button and power button and you should go into the bootloader. Now put the case back on without losing contact with the battery (bit fiddly) then look.at the screen & you'll see an option for recovery. Chose that using volume keys n power button. Then proceed as normal. Their may be another way but its happened to me after a wipe before n that's what I done

This is not working for me ......
A bit reluctant on taking the battery out just yet ...
Hopefully there is a way to get the Back menu button enabled without doing that !

Just press the volume button down several times, browsing through the menu.. down down down, and it should re-apear..
That worked for me, and other´s
Edit: Don´t hold the vol button down, press it several times
What does YOUR button have to do with development???
That´s true, should be moved to general...

I am a newb here, but what I have gathered so far is that all rooting queries/threads are in Android Development thread.

Nope, the development thread is only for rom´s, radio´s & kernel´s..
Questions like this can you post (and should post) in the general thread, just so you now for the future
Edit: All thread´s here is about rooting & flashing... almost any way

Hey everyone,
I recently flashed the new Cyanogenmod 10.1 RC ROM but it didn't occur to me that I needed to flash a matching GAPPS as well (I'm new to the whole modding thing and the download page for CM10.1 didn't include the GAPP). So now I have Cyanogenmod 10.1 but no google apps, and apparently no access to the Clockworkmod Recovery I used to flash the ROM either. I've tried downloading just the Google Play APK but the app always closes immediately after I try to open it. I've also tried booting into recovery by holding Volume Down+Home+Power but when I am presented with the Warning page and I press Volume Up to continue, the ROM just boots into Cyanogen as if I pressed cancel instead. Is there anyway to either get my Google Apps back, or someone access CWM Recovery so I can ref lash Gapps?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Brian
Recovery is power+home+volume up
Just flash gapps once you're in recovery.
You should be fine

I tried holding Power+Home+Volume Up but it just boots into Cyanogenmod as if nothing happened :S
Make sure your completely powered down first then try the power+volup+home button make sure all 3 are pressed down
Or, enable extended power menu under dev settings, then just hold down power, reboot, recovery
If you're going to enter recovery mode via the button combo, the most successful way is to press Vol up + home + power. When your device vibrates and you see the blue text in the top left corner of the screen, release just the power button

Hi... I have been using CyanogenMod for at while.. And it has been running great...
Then yesterday my phone started acting up, so i restarted it....
Not it gets stuck on the CyanogenMod startup screen when i turn it on...
And I can not enter bootloader, I have removed the battery, and then powered it on while holding volume down down, like I normaly do...
But i just end up on that CyanogenMod loading screen no matter what i try...
Is there another way to force it into bootloader or to force flash a new rom? (The rom i am currently on has been working fine for over a month, untill this happend)
I really hope someone has an idea... Please do ask if you need more info from me
Best Regards.

Hold your volume down before holding power button at the same time. Wait until it went into bootloader. If it is not, most probably your hardware keys is broken.

Hi... Thanks for your answer...
But that is how I have been doing it all the time...
Is there anything I can do? No way to force it into bootloader from the PC or anything?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Regards.
Looks like my volume down has broken last night
I was able to boot into bootloader using adb on the PC... So this thread can be closed
I installed Mahdi ROM after being at CM 11 and I wanted to go back to CM 11.
I did a full wipe and restored using a NANDROID backup and the device won't boot up.
I tried some key combinations and Adb fastboot recovery but couldn't manage to get it into recovery, how do I do that? thanks
EDIT:ADB worked. Please close thread or delete it
EDIT 2: ADB Doesn't work now!
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
EDIT 3: Nevermind, got it!
for anyone who is in the same sitation like me:
hold power + volume down key until the backlight goes off (after failed boot)
then:
hold power + volume down until the LG logo appears
release power key (DO NOT release volume down)!
then press the power key + volume up key so you're holding all three buttons. a factory reset screen should come up. press power twice (maybe 3 times? dont remember) and then you should have recovery

I don't get recovery....I get a factory reset. I am not sure if this is just deleting all data or is it really resetting the whole device to factory new?
Press yes and it gets you to TWRP or CWM, not factory reset. It is confusing

If I press the power button twice it wipes the tablet, I tried pressing it once and the tablet just restarted?
Can someone please tell me if I do a factory reset here does it even delete the TWRP? I want to send the tablet back. It was rooted and now it's not but I want to make sure that this factory reset takes it all the way back to stock.
I tried the LGMLauncher but after downloading and unpacking the software it stops and tells me it can't connect to the server?
Tried the LG tool?

I did try the LG tool. It downloads the software and then unpacks it and then stops saying the there is no connection to the server. That's as far as it will go. I installed the LG drives but this has happened 4 times with no difference. I know some people are using this tool but it just won't work for me?
Can you try a different computer? It seems to be the only way to come back to perfect stock condition

Greetings XDA Developers,
Newbie here. I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab S (SM T705). I was able to root it a few weeks ago and I decided to install a custom recovery (TWRP) using an app from the Playstore named "TWRP Manager". I didn't hesitate to do so using this method because I was able to install TWRP on my GT I9300 successfully from the past using this app. However, after being prompted by the app that the recovery was successfully installed and needs to reboot the device, my tab was stuck on start up screen ( See attached photo ). I tried long pressing the power button but nothing happened. I waited until the device ran out of battery and when it did, I plugged in the charger and I'm back at the same screen. After google-ing some possible solutions, I tried to boot it into recovery but was unsuccessful, however, I was able to boot into download mode.
I'd like to ask for the help of some "experienced" users in this forum on how to solve this problem. And if possible, I'm hoping that flashing a stock recovery using Odin wouldn't be my last resort.
Thank you in advance.

Your going to need some fast hands for this one! I've ran into this lots of times when testing kernels and such. Any force reboot by holding Power Button+ Home Button + BOTH Volume buttons all at the same time. Press and hold that combo until the screen goes black. Then once the screen goes black quickly press and hold Power Button+ Home Button + Volume down buttons all at the same time. You should no enter into download mode. You said that you drained the battery so I would suggest charging it in download mode for 30 minutes or so then flash TWRP with Odin.
Your going to need to flash stock recovery or TWRP with Odin to override the boot and get it working
The TWRP app doesn't always work in which is why I use Odin.

As a side note for future reference, hard reset is simply hold POWER + VOL DOWN.
As said all you need do is boot to download mode and flash recovery.
If you're on lollipop you may need to immediately boot into recovery after flashing to make it stick.

Hey, thanks for the heads up. But how exactly do I "immediately boot into recovery after flashing to make it stick." Since after I flash recovery via odin, it would obviously automatically reboot my device? sorry for the dumb question.

Thank you for the solution mentioned above! However, just to further clarify things, what is the difference between "klimtwifi and klimtwifixx" ?

Both are the same I think. Some people name it by our product name or device name (one has xx and one doesn't. Both are the same)

You either be quick and hold POWER + HOME + VOL UP as soon as it reboots or you uncheck auto reboot in Odin then restart manually.

So did the solution work? I am looking at a SM-T705 on ebay being sold for parts with similar symptoms. hoping I can fix it for a great bargain.
