Stuck on loading screen :( - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi... I have been using CyanogenMod for at while.. And it has been running great...
Then yesterday my phone started acting up, so i restarted it....
Not it gets stuck on the CyanogenMod startup screen when i turn it on...
And I can not enter bootloader, I have removed the battery, and then powered it on while holding volume down down, like I normaly do...
But i just end up on that CyanogenMod loading screen no matter what i try...
Is there another way to force it into bootloader or to force flash a new rom? (The rom i am currently on has been working fine for over a month, untill this happend)
I really hope someone has an idea... Please do ask if you need more info from me
Best Regards.

Hold your volume down before holding power button at the same time. Wait until it went into bootloader. If it is not, most probably your hardware keys is broken.

Hi... Thanks for your answer...
But that is how I have been doing it all the time...
Is there anything I can do? No way to force it into bootloader from the PC or anything?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Regards.

Looks like my volume down has broken last night
I was able to boot into bootloader using adb on the PC... So this thread can be closed

[Q] Power off problem

I try to power off my HTC, and after i press and hold the top "power" button for seconds, then I choose power off, screen goes black. but it's not actually being powered off, coz once I try to go into bootloader mode (VOL DOWN + POWER BUTTON), I can never go inside, but it goes straight into the normal Android system, and also it only needs one second to go into the normal system again, so I think the phone is not really powered off, but in some kind of sleeping mode. Anyone here can help me out?? Thanks very much.
P.S. i have flashed a new ROM (REVOLUTION 5.1.7), and also i have tried to reset to factory mode. but it does not help.
Do you have fastboot on in settings? It prevents the phone from turning off completely and thus giving a faster startup. That's probably why you can't get to the bootloader mode. You can also take out the battery for a couple of minutes, put it back and then boot into the bootloader.

Thanks, maybe that's the problem.
Sorry to sound like an arse here, but the quick boot setting was one of this phones most hyped features when it was released....oh my!

I don't get your point? It's not like you need to boot into bootloader several times a day. The few times you need to you can just turn off the fastboot option and then turn it back on when your done. The bootloader mode isn't even meant to be used by the average user.

Got the same PB with the same rom but version 5.1.4,
The only way I found is to install ROM MANAGER and launch recovery with it.
Concerning bootloader, battery removing !
really anoying, and yes, fast boot is disabled.

Rebooting New Official GB without Pulling out battery...

It never worked me before Official GB Release.. I had to pull out battery everytime.. But now it looks easy..
Today I was messing with Phone root files and deleted system file and suddenly fell into a Focre Close message loop which was not ending... and at other time, My Desire hanged and was not responding...
Press in sequence Optical Trackpad button + Volume Down + Power Button..
The phone vibrates and then reboots fully...
But I couldnt manage to let it enter recovery... Maybe some trick you guys might know may allow it...
Let me know if it worked for u...

Or you can disable fastboot in menu->settings->energy->disable fastboot. So you can fully turn of your phone and boot in recovery

That makes sense... but if its somehow possible to enter recovery with it...

Seems I have now flashed wrong bootlader and my phone wont turn on. When attempting to start it just powers the screen for a millisecond and repeas this over infinitum.
Is the anyway to fix it please.
What exactly did you do before? How did you flash the bootloader?
put it onto an sd goldcard and loaded it up. My phone wont turn on. I can hold vol up and down simultaneously with a tap of the power button, then i get 5 vibrations.

I seems like it's got into a Qualcomm diagnostics mode, hence the 3 vibrations.

First, did you flash the correct gapps? You have to make sure what you are flashing is correct for the ROM before you flash it.
Second, you need to turn the phone off, then press power + volume up + home until it vibrates and then release to access recovery. To access download mode, its the same thing only with volume down.
Third, a bit of advice. I don't mean to belittle you, but it doesn't sound like you did your homework before you started flashing things to your phone. You need to read around a bit and get a good grasp of the basics, or you will end up in trouble, whether it be as simple as a bootloop or as bad as a hard brick. I hope you get it fixed quickly. Good luck!

Thanks, I finally got into recovery mode by holding the three buttons then letting go right after it vibrated and pressing again.... weird..
For the most part, i read every single post in a thread before i flash a rom, I have been flashing roms for years now ....... I guess i got comfortable and flashed this "beta" rom(stupidly) not thinking anything of it..... and no i didn't even check if it was the right gapp, i knew it was for 4.2.1 and i figured the beta was the same.
I am not back to a working rom, but now my phone is only able to get Edge speed, is that a modem issue?
That's an imei issue. Look around there is a thread about it. Happened to me but that got it all fixed. Under phone settings about phone if your imei is 0 you need to inject it back. Hope this helps

I keep holding power button + volume up or down being in panic for a couple of minutes. After that my phone boots.I am not sure after what combination of buttons. This happened several times. Does anyone has any suggestions? I 'm afraid my phone won't boot again eventually after flashing a new update

In the twrp settings screen turn off the screen saver setting. I forget what it says exactly but once you turn this off that should stop happening.

Thanks I will try this. Hope won't happen again
I panicked after flashing AR7.0 as I thought I had bricked my M8. The screen goes black and doesnt respond, but I found that if you just leave it for a good few minutes it will boot up properly. It stays on the white HTC splash screen for a while too.
Happens to me too. I'm not sure if it's really the screen lock, but if you just leave it alone for a bit the screen will come back on and then you can tell TWRP to reboot.
First time i flashed and the screen turned off nearly gave me a heart attack

Press power + vol. Up button,
Before you flash any rom on TWRP, go to setting-screen- uncheck screen timeout on TWRP
