Hello, I really hope someone can help me with that.. I am a new Android user and got the Note 7.. I can't add the standard Emoji keyboard which can be found on Whatsapp or iOS in general. Is there any way that I can add the exact keyboard on my Note 7 so I can use it system wide?
There are plenty of different keyboards to be found in the Play Store. Pick one, install it, and try it out.
You may not be able to find an exact copy of the iOS keyboard, though.

All keyboards use the system emoji, if you want to change it system-wide you need root.
emoji switcher app is pretty good!
Thank you guys for your propositions.. But I do not want to root my phone in order not to loose the Guarantee.. Got it from the official local Samsung store.. I guess there is no decent Emoji on Android yet.. :/

I never owned iOS, so idk if could help. But the emoji icon are only difference on the keyboard.
Facebook for example, the emoji on iPhone and Android are different, but the typed emoji that will be shown on the app will be the same.
Try Google keyboard

Like I said. It is a bit different, but once posted, the emoji changed to the original ones.

to this?
If you long press in the writing area, you'll get the option to change input method and there you'll be able to shift between keyboards. For example, if you have installed Swype, it'll be shown there.
I'm just have this option
That's because you don't have any other keyboard installed on your phone.
There are numerous keyboards available on the market. Personally, I prefer Swype 3.0 beta. You can find it here <beta.swype.com/>
Other keyboards you could try out are SwiftKey, SlideIT, TouchPal etc. Just have a look at the android market.
You can do it SE keyboard.
It will automatically change to tat one when you typing in numbers field(Phone no.)
Try some other keyboard like BetterKeyboard.
If it just appear on the number field, then the alphabet on the number is useless, right?

Yeah,tat is useless.

Are you looking for something in particular or just a method to change keyboards?

no, I'm not ask about method to change keyboard, but I want to change the keyboard into dial number like my first post
Well, you can do that with Swype. (I am talking with reference to Swype as that's my preferred keyboard).
To display the numeric keypad, press the Swype key + 5.
And you should get this.
If this was useful, use the Thanks button.
BTW, CNET has a helpful article on 7 Swype keyboard tips for better Swyping. Do check it out if you end up getting Swype.
Cheers!
Well, uhh, the dial number doesn't got alphabet like my first post huh? =p thanks anyway

I can't vouch for it as I've never tried it but the (EvenBetter)NumberPad Keyboard seems to have what you seem to be looking for.
Also you can try Better Keyboard.

Anybody find another dialer that works with our phones? I'm not a huge fan of the stock dialer.
Go contacts
Dialer One is pretty bad ass.

Trying out Touchpal Dialer by Cootek... I used Dialer One on my Nexus One and got on well with it but want something with a crisper UI...
+1 for Touchpal dialer.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
ended up dumping touchpal dialer... Watchdog was flagging it as hi CPU even when the phone was idle... trying out GoDialerEX right now but have a feeling i'll find myself back with DialerOne... stock dialer is seriously lacking! why cant i click a pic of a contact after typing a few letters of their name and get actiuons like SMS, call, Open contact etc. the way I can with every other dialer??
Same about TouchPal... liked the crispness of the UI

+1 on this one, most of the apps they have are very good and user friendly.
go dialer/contacts is the best out, a lot of options/themes and stable
yup tried all 3 mentioned here and liked go dialer/contacts the most clean with options and had the functions I liked.

Yup... I'm running GoDialer EX at 200 as opposed to the stock 240 density and all is well... The green "call" butten is a tiny bit stretched but its tons better than the way the stock dialer looks at 200
Anyone know of a dialer like the one is sense...it was great at connecting pictures to Facebook and still only showing my Google contacts

I recently upgraded to the Galaxy S3. I loaded on my favorite keyboard, Shapewriter, and was disappointed to see that it didn't fill the screen like it did on my other phones. Is there anyway to make it take up the whole bottom of the screen like all the other keyboards? Thanks for any help.

send a note to the developer... they might not be aware and just need to edit it for the larger screen...

It's no longer supported. I have a backup of the APK that I use to install it with. It's not even on the Play anymore as far as I know.

That's clearly not supported on 720p screen, never heard of the keyboard but if you find people that likes it a developer might be able to help

If I recall, Shapewriter was bought by Nuance and incorporated into the FlexT9 keyboard and now those features are incorporated into the latest Swype beta...
So maybe try that?
You can always lower your dpi

I downloaded the Swype Beta. It's going to take some getting used to, but overall I think it's better than the default Samsung keyboard.
I prefer shape writer over all the rest I've tested. The automatic addition of a space after a period (.),saves hitting the space bar more often than deleting the space. The ability to retroactively capitalizewith one key does not require retype. The selection of typed words with one touch, allows the original selection list to be recalled.
I can't believe they did this all two years ago. Nuance now owns shapewriter.
Hi, We all love pure android experience but sometimes vanilla android lacks some functionality.
From my experience with previous Samsung galaxy phones, Samsung got screenshot, call-reject with message since gingerbread. and these features made their way into vanilla android.
I do know that some features are already in CM or available as application.. but these should be native. IMO.
For me,
multiple clipboard (like in Samsung)
delete individual call log/messages from thread(I like samsung way too, multiple select like deleting threads)
Newline in messaging
predictive T-9 dialer

Please share your ideas that you wish to have in either stock Android or Cyanogen.

Why don't you simply get involved and code this ? CyanogenMod is not an ask and get serve OS. If you want something, do it.

Only if it would be easy.
Even though I've basic programming background( which is C language). coding is not simply just about code. but you need to know how things work. and most of android app is java.....
We'll just have to cheer him on while he goes to Google and CM to get these changes implemented

Hi there,
is it possible to change those terrible standard LG smilies with other ones? Or maybe there is a mod out there?
I prefer the original one of Android.

So i found out it has todo with the fonts in /system/font/NotoColorEmoji.ttf and NotoColorEmoji_NonAME.ttf
I've changed with the rootexplorer the filename to NotoColorEmoji.old and NotoColorEmoji_NonAME.old and the smilies have gone. So i think we only need the correct .ttf-File for the smilies and change it to NotoColorEmoji.ttf and NotoColorEmoji_NonAME.ttf.
I will try that out later...
I've written a little guide how you could change it.
Look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/themes-apps/howto-change-lg-smiley-to-google-smiley-t2809012
Well, I kind of like them. Better than the stock android smileys in my opinion.
@Protagoras it's just a possibility to change it, not more. So tastes differ.
I don't like them, because it's hard to see the difference between them.

Emoticons
I am able to send emojis just fine but when people send them to me they just show up as symbols.
Ex. If I receive a smiling emoji from someone it shows up as "X=^" instead of the actual emoji. Any suggestions on what to do ?
