to this?

If you long press in the writing area, you'll get the option to change input method and there you'll be able to shift between keyboards. For example, if you have installed Swype, it'll be shown there.

I'm just have this option

That's because you don't have any other keyboard installed on your phone.
There are numerous keyboards available on the market. Personally, I prefer Swype 3.0 beta. You can find it here <beta.swype.com/>
Other keyboards you could try out are SwiftKey, SlideIT, TouchPal etc. Just have a look at the android market.

You can do it SE keyboard.
It will automatically change to tat one when you typing in numbers field(Phone no.)
Try some other keyboard like BetterKeyboard.

If it just appear on the number field, then the alphabet on the number is useless, right?

Yeah,tat is useless.

Are you looking for something in particular or just a method to change keyboards?

no, I'm not ask about method to change keyboard, but I want to change the keyboard into dial number like my first post

Well, you can do that with Swype. (I am talking with reference to Swype as that's my preferred keyboard).
To display the numeric keypad, press the Swype key + 5.

And you should get this.

If this was useful, use the Thanks button.
BTW, CNET has a helpful article on 7 Swype keyboard tips for better Swyping. Do check it out if you end up getting Swype.
Cheers!

Well, uhh, the dial number doesn't got alphabet like my first post huh? =p thanks anyway

I can't vouch for it as I've never tried it but the (EvenBetter)NumberPad Keyboard seems to have what you seem to be looking for.

Also you can try Better Keyboard.

[APP] Keyboard S

I've been using this app called Keypad S for a few days as one of my lockscreen shortcuts (and nova launcher gesture targets).
I think the idea is genius and the implementation is very clean and fast. It works extremely well as an app launcher (google search is awful at that) and a T9 dialer.
Keypad S is a super dialer for Android phones. You could use it to search for apps, bookmarks, contact names, email addresses, phone numbers. All in one place.
How to use?
1. Type in the query using the number keys with corresponding letters: e.g. 36245 for "email" app
2. The search results will instantly appear on top as you type
3. Click the icon in search results to open it, or click the phone key to dial the number

Thanks for sharing. Looks like a good implementation of search. But I'm pretty sure the Google search app is good enough for this.

Main reason I went looking for an alternative was that google search fails to find my apps half the time (or it takes ~5 seconds). I've done EVERYTHING to find the issue and I came up empty handed.

Shapewriter for Galaxy S3

I recently upgraded to the Galaxy S3. I loaded on my favorite keyboard, Shapewriter, and was disappointed to see that it didn't fill the screen like it did on my other phones. Is there anyway to make it take up the whole bottom of the screen like all the other keyboards? Thanks for any help.

send a note to the developer... they might not be aware and just need to edit it for the larger screen...

It's no longer supported. I have a backup of the APK that I use to install it with. It's not even on the Play anymore as far as I know.

That's clearly not supported on 720p screen, never heard of the keyboard but if you find people that likes it a developer might be able to help

If I recall, Shapewriter was bought by Nuance and incorporated into the FlexT9 keyboard and now those features are incorporated into the latest Swype beta...
So maybe try that?
You can always lower your dpi

I downloaded the Swype Beta. It's going to take some getting used to, but overall I think it's better than the default Samsung keyboard.
I prefer shape writer over all the rest I've tested. The automatic addition of a space after a period (.),saves hitting the space bar more often than deleting the space. The ability to retroactively capitalizewith one key does not require retype. The selection of typed words with one touch, allows the original selection list to be recalled.
I can't believe they did this all two years ago. Nuance now owns shapewriter.

[Q] Xperia S keyboard - keypad mode

How do you make it show the keypad?
One 1 particular website I visit it will always show in keypad mode (which I want). However on other sites it will only display the full keyboard which annoys me when I want to input numbers. Is there a way to make it display?
Can post screenshots if needed.
You should have a little button on the bottom left to turn it to numbers and special charters like! !?)#-,(/

yes I do have that but that is not a keypad. When you press that button you are greeted with the following.

The keypad I am talking about is the following.
Please note that this is not the 1st keyboard available in the keyboard layout section. In that layout the numbers whilst in a keypad style are in the middle of the screen. Surely there is a way to get to that screen with a shortcut.
is this you're looking for?
go to settings>language and input>xperia keyboard(if youre using xperia keyboard),click the settings at right corner>personalization guide>then you can change the layout of your keyboard.
No that is the keyboard layout section that i was referring to earlier.
This seems to be an almost hidden keypad available with the "Full keyboard". I literally only find it available on that website. I want it available on all websites.
I also have had a web site asking for just a zip code pull up just the daily pad. It may have been triggered by the web pages html code. I have seen the option in keyboard settings, but have no idea how to switch while typing.

No. He (and I, and a few others also) meant the Full Keyboard, but at certain apps, it request the number pad only. And it forces that layout, just like T9, but the rest is on the full QWERTY.

new keyboard

I am trying to find a keyboard with both the letters and numbers on one screen. I need to be able to enter both without pressing symbol button or shift to change keyboards. Do you guys know any APK's or program that would allow this? I have tried swift key and perfect keyboard and they didn't work.
I don't know of anything like what you want, and this should probably be posted in the themes and apps section, or the question section, but definitely not the Development section.

Swiftkey works fine. What did not work for you?
I am curious too as to why SwiftKey doesn't work for you. If you long press on a key either the single additional options will post or like the below will happen. View attachment 1746389

This one has a free version, but I don't know if you can add the numbers on the front keyboard on the free version. I know you can on pro. It looks like the aosp keyboard. You of course can customize it. Its worth the $3.

It is customizable as far as colors and layout, etc. I like it a lot! the numbers can by one tap change to punctuatuins, and arrows, etc.

"Minuum is a tiny, one-dimensional keyboard that frees up screen space while allowing fast, accurate typing.
Current technology assumes that sticking a full typewriter into a touchscreen device is the best way to enter text, giving us keyboards that are error-prone and cover up half the usable screen space (or more) on most smartphones and tablets."
"Minuum, on the other hand, eliminates the visual clutter of archaic mobile keyboards by adapting the keyboard to a single dimension. What enables this minimalism is our specialized auto-correction algorithm that allows highly imprecise typing. This algorithm interprets in real time the difference between what you type and what you mean, getting it right even if you miss every single letter."
Link to the APK for developmental use only, please do not install the apk unless you are a verified tester and are following the Minuum Teams terms of use.

I tried it. Unless you are very familar with a normal keyboard, you still find yourself looking for certain letters. I also found inserting puncuation marks to be somewhat inconvenient. In the end, it really did not save to much space over my Swiftkey setup.
I love it.

I've dabbled with it and am starting to get the hang of it. Quite innovative. I think after a little more practice, I won't be looking back.
Interesting, will wait for a later build and then try it for sure

Using Nexus4 stock and unrooted, Kii keyboarding it up
Just tried it. Great prediction!
However, no gesture/or swipe features.
That alone makes it unusable.
Also, it's a real hassle trying to input periods and other symbols without stopping.
