I recently upgraded to the Galaxy S3. I loaded on my favorite keyboard, Shapewriter, and was disappointed to see that it didn't fill the screen like it did on my other phones. Is there anyway to make it take up the whole bottom of the screen like all the other keyboards? Thanks for any help.

send a note to the developer... they might not be aware and just need to edit it for the larger screen...

It's no longer supported. I have a backup of the APK that I use to install it with. It's not even on the Play anymore as far as I know.

That's clearly not supported on 720p screen, never heard of the keyboard but if you find people that likes it a developer might be able to help

If I recall, Shapewriter was bought by Nuance and incorporated into the FlexT9 keyboard and now those features are incorporated into the latest Swype beta...
So maybe try that?
You can always lower your dpi

I downloaded the Swype Beta. It's going to take some getting used to, but overall I think it's better than the default Samsung keyboard.
I prefer shape writer over all the rest I've tested. The automatic addition of a space after a period (.),saves hitting the space bar more often than deleting the space. The ability to retroactively capitalizewith one key does not require retype. The selection of typed words with one touch, allows the original selection list to be recalled.
I can't believe they did this all two years ago. Nuance now owns shapewriter.

Hello guys,
I was working on a project today that lead me to create this app for myself, and I thought I could share it.
Basically, Saev My Battery! let you reduce your brightness below the minimum possible, without your phone needing to be rooted.
For now, the battery saving will occur only with AMOLED displays (like the SGS2's screen), but I'm planning to add the reddish tint for other displays in the next few days.
Let me know what you think about it, if you find any bug, if you'd like some more features etc...
Thanks for being my beta testers fellow SGS2 owners

There already is this app:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.haxor#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDIxMiwiY29tLmhheG9yIl0.
which I personally use since SG1...But more is always welcome
I will try it although one of the let downs with your app for me is the name (I just don't like when people use words that aren't the real words) and the design.Make more polished..More eye appealing. Those are my sujestions.
Keep it up

Hey, thanks for your quick review. I'll definitely work on the design, but I've been too lazy to find a more appealing name I guess

I'm also using Screen Filter, but if this program will also have features of "Soft Screen Tuner" (plaing with colors, saturation...) and "Voodoo Screen tuning" so it will be "all in one" =) But anyway thnx! =)
How about SMB?
Hi!
The title says it all, I'm interested if the Note II can handle any app in double panel view.
I use computer almost never, and having a smartphone which could view any 2 apps at a time would be so good and would be a great next phone I'll buy.
Thanks for your answers already!
Not stock. Only a handful of apps will work in multi view.
But there is a mod in dev section that allows any app to run in multiview

Only certain stock apps are available in the Multi window by default. If you need to add your own apps, there are a few methods, or you can flash a ROM that already have this feature built-in
So far, the easiest is this one, you just need to find the item name of the apps you wish to add, and use the webtool to generate a zip file to flash into your Note II (You need to be rooted)
Here's how mine looks like once I added apps that I want :

Ok, thanks for your replies. At this time I wasn't able to find the mod kylec mentioned about, and the manual method looks pretty creepy, but I'll look into it later, when I actually have the device with me. It was a big relievement to know that there is at least some way to double-panel all apps. It's sad how Samsung doesn't give us the device's full potential by standard.
Remind that even u flash unlimited multi window mod , it wont be easy to use, many apps will be stretched strangly.

I've had my T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 for 2 weeks now. It's stock NOT rooted. I was just looking through the /system/apps and couldn't find a Car Home application or something similar. Is this something that they left out with JB all together? Or is this just a Samsung or T-Mobile bright idea?
I also thought Samsung had Drive Link but the Note 2 doesn't have it.
Any info would be great...
In the mean time I installed Drive Link that I used on my previous device. If anyone is interested in it then I'll post a link.
So i wanted a proper driving app myself, didnt like what the samsung app store had to offer nir did i like what the playstore had, so i used ti separate launchers to get what i needed.
My main, daily phone launcher is nova prime. Set it up as a 7*5 grid and set it up for daily usage.
Used a Samsung tectile in my car mount to launch adw in landscape mode. One window has the weather, calendar and easy access to the phone boom, txts or whatever i needed. The next window is for Google maps, some set locations, or something i made the night before that i can just click and go. The other is the shorcut for the google places icon, which lets me search a coffee shop, or 'pizza' when i click it.
Ill take pics and show u, its the best way to have a proper car "dock" in my opinion

"Minuum is a tiny, one-dimensional keyboard that frees up screen space while allowing fast, accurate typing.
Current technology assumes that sticking a full typewriter into a touchscreen device is the best way to enter text, giving us keyboards that are error-prone and cover up half the usable screen space (or more) on most smartphones and tablets."
"Minuum, on the other hand, eliminates the visual clutter of archaic mobile keyboards by adapting the keyboard to a single dimension. What enables this minimalism is our specialized auto-correction algorithm that allows highly imprecise typing. This algorithm interprets in real time the difference between what you type and what you mean, getting it right even if you miss every single letter."
Link to the APK for developmental use only, please do not install the apk unless you are a verified tester and are following the Minuum Teams terms of use.

I tried it. Unless you are very familar with a normal keyboard, you still find yourself looking for certain letters. I also found inserting puncuation marks to be somewhat inconvenient. In the end, it really did not save to much space over my Swiftkey setup.
I love it.

I've dabbled with it and am starting to get the hang of it. Quite innovative. I think after a little more practice, I won't be looking back.
Interesting, will wait for a later build and then try it for sure

Using Nexus4 stock and unrooted, Kii keyboarding it up
Just tried it. Great prediction!
However, no gesture/or swipe features.
That alone makes it unusable.
Also, it's a real hassle trying to input periods and other symbols without stopping.

Hello guys,
The NokiaZLauncher seems to be released some hours ago
Its still an pre-beta app but the launcher still doesnt allow widgets but maybe in the future.
The launcher also works with gestures and learns a bit from your actions and predict it in the future to get it easier for you,
By simply drawing a Letter like T will preview a list with apps, names with the T after 4 gesture letters it is also going through google so its pretty advanced if you ask me. Its really a troll action from Nokia to microsoft lol. Have fun with the launcher since maybe not everyone know it yet because there is also nothing in the apps forum here.
It works properly on the Nexus4 btw, non rooted and stock for the guys who really want to know.
Video preview which i just found:

It's telling me that it doesn't support rooted devices.
