I've had this problem for a couple of months. There is something funky going on and I'm chewing through batteries and if the battery gets too low, it boot loops. Very frustrating.
Since the update i have the same problem. Only happens when the battery drops low, sometimes at 10% sometimes as low as 5%. But somewhere between 5 and 10% the phone will shutdown and go into a bootloop until i plug it up or the battery comletely dies. Rynning the phone with power saving mode seems to help with the fast battery drain. I have no proof, but i feel like the drain is coming from the bluetooth and wifi constantly scanning. If i turn them both off my battery life goes from about 8 hours to about 20 hours which is what i was getting before the update.

That's interesting. I don't have a bootloop, but I did notice when it's below 5%, the phone will start to boot (Note 4 screen) but then show a plug and shut off.
Has anyone tried reflashing the stock Firmware 6.0.1 CPF3? Also, would we be able to downgrade from MM to Lollipop?

Yes, you can downgrade from MM to LP via BPA1 ODIN flash.

Is it as simple as taking the BPA1 full firmware and Pit and flashing it via Odin? I've been told that I have to root first before I can downgrade.

You won't even need the PIT. Just load the BPA1 Full furmware in the AP slot an flash. Make sure you full wipe first. I wouldn't root. KingRoot tampers with the efs folder and causes dm-verity failed.
I see, thanks for that info

Have you experienced this boot loop issue after the 6.0.1 update? I bet it's a software issue, not hardware. Here's why:
Description
New in box Verizon Note 4 N901V, activated July 2015. No mods, roms or launchers. Ran like a champ on 4.4.4, skipped 5.1.1, installed 6.0.1 a couple weeks ago. Device heated up, battery declined, now boot loops like above video unless charger connected.
Troubleshooting
Disable Fast Charging
Install Wake Lock PowerManager, set Partial Wake Lock
Update all installed apps
Wipe cache from recovery, power off/on
Factory reset from recovery, power off/on
Store provided CLNR N901V running Marshmallow out of the box, tried original battery and another used battery at the store, issue persists
Hypothesis
I say something software-related in 6.0.1 is making good batteries seem defective when they're not. I also speculate that a new battery will fix only temporarily. Has anyone resolved by downgrading to Lollipop or KitKat? Disappointing to see the world's greatest smartphone crippled before its time.

I just flashed 5.1.1 and I'm getting the same bootloop issue as I did when I had 6.0.1. I have a few batteries coming tomorrow, Samsung OEM, Anker, and Arclyte. I'll see if the new batteries fixes the problem.
Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
Update: Looks like the bootloop bug is related to a bad battery. I've been using an Arclyte battery from Amazon since Sunday morning with no issues. I managed to get 16 hours of moderate use with 4 hours of screen time. I'll post another update a week or two from now to see if this battery holds up.

Hey guys I've had this issue where regardless of what music app I use, a few seconds after I turn my screen off (i.e. lock the device) the music will stop playing until I turn it back on.
Anyone have any idea why? I'm on version 10e (latest according to PC Suite and OTA Checker), and I'm stock unrooted.
Other than that the phone's been amazing and blazing fast, even outspeeding my M8 GPE sometimes

Also, when charging, this problem doesn't occur. This further adds to the mystery...
Also, it happens if I have music local or streaming, so that rules out network issues.

UPDATE: OK so after messing with about every single setting on the phone, I tried switching it back to Dalvik. Fixed everything 100%. Whole phone is faster, from opening apps to web pages.
Very strange... Not sure why there would be so much ART incompatibility, but I guess it's 4.4.2 and not .3 or .4. If anyone else has has this problem (including an inability to wake the phone up without a few tries), check your RunTime. I'm hoping it'll be better next update, but for now this'll have to do.

Hi there!
I have exactly the same problem since I updated the phone to Lollipop (D85520A) but before that I didn't have that problem. Firstly I found this when I updated to D85519H and then I performed another update to the current version (D85520A) and it didn't help. The smartphone is way better, but this problem is really ennoying me.
ART is not available on Lollipop and my phone went only for one day to ART mode and it was a pain in the ass (when I still had 4.4.2) and then I switched back to normal.
I am thinking about to a factory reset and reinstall Android 5.0 on CSE mode AGAIN and see what happens, but I think it won't help at all.
Do you have any idea of what could I do in order to solve this problem?
Thank you in advance.
Fixed
Hi there!
Just a short update.
Like I mentioned before, I got this problem when I updated my phone with the new Lollipop FW (D85519H) and then I tried to perform another update using the D85520A but the problem was still there. So I believe that the update didn't fix the issue from the previous update so I performed another clean update using the same last one and the problem disappeared.
Thank you anyway.

Probably CSE flash with this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
Been Using G3 for the past 5 months. Faced tonnes of issues with over heating, restarting, etc.
But I thought all would be resolved with the Lollipop update.
Unfortunately, that's not the case here. I just updated to Lollipop last night and faced 3 inappropriate restarts in less than 24 hrs.
Any Suggestions or remedial measure is welcome guys. Using a stock and Unrooted device for now.

Why would you think everything magically solves itself by a simple update?
What you could try is flashing the latest .kdz for your device via a "normal flash" which wipes everything from your phone so you're back at the beginning, most of the time that solves half of the problems on here.
Please use the forum search function or Google to find out how to flash a .kdz file onto your G3 and how to obtain your latest .kdz file.
Thanx for the hint.
Flashed the new kdz (D85520A_00) and yet my fone restarts as before. Sometimes its so annoying that it continuously restarts.
Thanx again for replying.
My phone was working pretty well on the 5.1.1 lollipop update, no crashes, somewhat okay battery life after a full factory reset and manual installation of programs (Reinstalling with kies seemed to kill battery life again). I jumped at getting the MM update when it as available. I had previously rooted my EVO 4g and had issues getting updates after a certain point, so I haven't rooted my Note 4 yet, since I was happy with the updates.
Now, though, the MM update keeps crashing my phone. It will sometimes maintain stable operation for 20 minutes, but it will eventually crash and reboot. I once got the mmc_read_failed error on a reboot, but I am not completely sure what is causing the issue. The phone worked fine until the OTA update installed. After that point, it crashed once while setting up my Google account and has been crashing regularly ever since.
What's the best way to fix this? Are there any good Marshmallow updates I can install, either rooted or stock. Also, any I can use Odin for?

Check out @tx_dbs_tx 's stock pre rooted DeOdexed 6.0.1 romantic here:

Factory reset AFTER your OTA updates clears up most problems.
Good luck
I had this happen. I was getting the mmc read failed 6x a day. Nothing fixes it. Internal mem failed. My free replacement came in today. TWRP, tx's rooted stock Rom/everything restored with tb..... Good to go.
Sad too, it was a launch day mint condition phone.

I'm running stock 5.1.1 rooted. Whenever the battery dies on the tablet, it will go into a bootloop when I charge it and turn it back on (gets to Samsung logo with no start up music). So far, that only thing that seems to work is wiping data. Has anyone experienced something similar? Bad install maybe?
I've had the same thing happen to me last night. I tried everything and nothing worked. I had to restore a old back up i had with twrp and it started fine. Not sure what causes it though.
I've been having this problem for 6 months now. Let me try a custom rom.

Update the twrp tp latest version.I had the ame problem with old twrp but now all is fine with 3.0.2.0.
mine just started doing this. i can boot into recovery but the touch screen doesn't respond. i can also get into odin. I believe i was running Rooted Stock 5.1.1. Should i just reflash (i was thinking of going custom like LineAge) or do i need to reflash stock rom? I was also reading about just flashing the PIT and EFS. i know it's a 3 year old tablet at this point, but it's been good to me and i'd like to increase my odds of bringing it back to life
As the title says, phone has randomly rebooted
... twice in the last few minutes, both times I had picture in picture going while sending a text...has anyone else experienced this? Also, the boot time is amazingly fast at least!

Did you do a wipe when you flashed or just update? If you just did an update, I would try to reinstall and let it wipe the device.
Yup. I'm experiencing this as well. Happened to me twice yesterday. Maybe try a factory reset?

Having the same issue did a complete factory install with the stock image.
Then rooted not sure if that is causing my issues but, is anyone else stock not rooted having random reboots?
I've had 3 reboots since jumping on Oreo. Did my update the clean way through a factory reset and flashing a factory image. Stock, unrooted.

Maybe you have to do a factory reset.
Reason why i havent upgraded. Still on a rock solid nougat until google fix all this problems. Maybe 8.1 or so. Seem like reboot is a common problem with the pixel,. All thread about orea theres someone talking about his reboot problem in many different sites.

That sounds much like a hardware failure... :crying:
I had random reboots too coming from DP4 to FInal. No more random reboots since I flashed the factory images
Is 8.0 the version that is the start of the new OS updating system? I wonder if the partitioning is getting all screwed up? I think I'll stay on 7.1.2 for a bit longer till this gets ironed out.

when i first updated to oreo and rooted it, i ran into the rebooting issues some of you are experiencing. i think the root of my issue was busybox. i did a clean install of oreo again the other day and rooted, but didnt put busybox on the phone. phone ran fine for a day, so i tried giving busybox another go. the reboot issues came back. hope this helps
Mine only reboots randomly if I have YouTube picture in picture enabled once I disabled it I haven't had any reboots maybe try to disable that
Just did the update a couple hours ago and so far so good. Picture in picture works too. Stock, GPE on VZW, no root or anything.

Guys, anyone still getting random on persistent reboots on Oreo with Pixel (XL)? I'm doing my second factory reset atm and monitoring these two threads on buganiser - 1, 2. Basically people started getting reboots after upgrading to Oreo and one notable common thing is: 'Sense Key : Hardware Error [current]' which Google reps assigned to the threads read as hardware issue (probably with Toshiba's memory chips being prone to overflow/overload (?)). They haven't answered my question why is it only happening on Oreo though. I REALLY don't want to go through the warranty process again only to get a device with the same problem as I still believe it can be fixed in 8.1. Is there anyone who had similar issues that got fixed with the 8.1 Beta? Cheers!
I'm experiencing the random reboots too.
Oct. 8.0, Magisk, Root
I almost missed an alarm due to this, so I think I may go back to Nougat. Not only does it reboot, but it gets stuck in the boot screen. If I hold Power and reboot, it comes up though.
