I'm running stock 5.1.1 rooted. Whenever the battery dies on the tablet, it will go into a bootloop when I charge it and turn it back on (gets to Samsung logo with no start up music). So far, that only thing that seems to work is wiping data. Has anyone experienced something similar? Bad install maybe?
I've had the same thing happen to me last night. I tried everything and nothing worked. I had to restore a old back up i had with twrp and it started fine. Not sure what causes it though.
I've been having this problem for 6 months now. Let me try a custom rom.

Update the twrp tp latest version.I had the ame problem with old twrp but now all is fine with 3.0.2.0.
mine just started doing this. i can boot into recovery but the touch screen doesn't respond. i can also get into odin. I believe i was running Rooted Stock 5.1.1. Should i just reflash (i was thinking of going custom like LineAge) or do i need to reflash stock rom? I was also reading about just flashing the PIT and EFS. i know it's a 3 year old tablet at this point, but it's been good to me and i'd like to increase my odds of bringing it back to life

Hi All, I come begging for help after exhausting all of my options and searches for similar issues.
I have a CDMA Galaxy Nexus Stock 4.0.2 but rooted (I installed CWM).
I woke up to my phone stuck in the boot loading screen; it just kept looping over and over. I shut off the phone restarted it and the phone was practically unuseable, it ran very very slow. Now I haven't done anything recently or installed any apps. The only app I installed was a modified MMS app (one of the Inverted Black ones), but that was 2 weeks ago and everything was running fine since then. (However since I'm not on a deodexed Rom, I knew there could be issues).
Well I of course switched back to the stock MMS app that I had manually backed up and that did not help. Now my phone would load, it would get to my homescreen, but it would then say something along, "service is not working, wait, close, or ok?" I'd hit wait and within 2 minutes my phone would automatically reboot and then go into a a sort-of bootloop (it would just show the boot.img and loop).
I then tried to restore two Nandroid back-ups (which were basically bone stock and made months ago) and both worked, except it would say secure.img not found or something like that. I was still able to boot up and use these back ups, but then within 5 minutes I would get the same error and then the phone would reboot.
After retrying them I decided to to just go bone stock and wipe and do a factory reset. This worked and everything seemed fine until I went to turn on wi-fi.
I would wait for wi-fi to turn on and eventually it would just quit and then reboot the phone. I did this 3 times in a row to confirm that it was indeed wi-fi causing these rebooting issues.
Now here's the thing, right now my phone is working as I have purposely tried not to touch the wi-fi (I need to use my phone) . Data, voice, mms/sms all work. But I literally have no idea why wi-fi would be causing my OS to go crazy?
My last resort is to flash the stock toro.img but I was hoping you guys could help me before I get to that point.
As of right now even though I did a data wipe/factory restore my phone is still rooted (rooted apps all work) and my bootloader is still unlocked. (I renamed the secure.bootloader file as per the instructions when using fastboot to load CWM).
Please help me troubleshoot this, Thanks guys.
I don't know if you have tried but maybe try flashing a rom after a data wipe

I'm thinking about doing this as well since I will probably have to flash back to stock. I just want to make sure I can get back to stock since I am still covered by warranty and insurance (assuming they do not check to see if my phone has an unlocked bootloader).

Well you can always relock the bootloader. I doubt you will have to go back to stock though
Hi, Ive not long had my m9. When i got it it updated straight away and got the charging bug.
Since then I have s-off'd and tried various roms with not too much luck.
I now have a bug that occurs when i flash a new rom. This has happened when i flashed 3 different roms. Leedroid, Viper and android revolution. the rom flashes ok, then starts to boot, and builds art. It then finishes building art and starts to complete the boot process, and then it reboots and tries to build art again.
I flash back to my stock backup and everything is fine again. (apart from the damned charging bug)
Has anyone else experienced something similar?? am i missing something??
Go in twrp and make factory reset
just tried that, didnt work
Did you update your firmware? if you're still on 1.x firmware, those 2.x roms will reboot.
yeah. have tried matching roms to firmware and still get the same result. trying viper one currently. in a massive bootloop again. It boots enough to say "nfc service has stopped working" and thats what made me think it might be firmware, but it seems to make no difference.
cant even adb whilst its booting.. getting waiting for device.
What version of twrp are you using?

Update to 2.8.7.0 and see if it continues.
I've solved this, and my charging issue. Finally!!
I decided to flash the earliest ruu I could find and then let it do all of the ota updates itself.
I then rerooted, flashed updated firmware and am now running leedroid.
Thanks for the help guys.
D851 here, When ever i switched from cloudy 2.5 to blisspop 4.0 and after wiping everything i flashed a various of radios bootstacks and etc to make it boot after many failed attempts to boot ( it boots up but after 4 or so seconds after the lg logo the screen turns black and doesnt turn back on until after i pull out the battery) it worked after i flashed the rom WITHOUT a custom kernel so naturally i booted up just fine and thought maybe now i set up everything on my phone and tweaks i should go back and flash a custom kernel i used to use (777 r16) but then it gave me the problem i faced before the black screen after the lg logo no kernal would work. THEN another problem arised similar to the freezing on the black screen randomly during a usage thru my day the phones screen would be unresponsive animations but touch wouldnt work and i know its not my screen cause when i flash back to cloudy it works fine the freezing happens at least every 5 mins. someone halp?
i know this thread is kinds old...
but i have this same issue too... I found if I switch batteries the problem isn't as bad... but, then it becomes bad again. Its weird. Before I swapped batteries I couldn't even login with my google account, after a fresh flash. then after I swapped batteries (gf has same phone) I was able to get through to the end and setup the phone. But, then an hour later it started happening again....
OP, did you find a solution?

i actaully did i think one of the problems was maybe flashing over the same kernel? see what happened was after i gave up flashing the kernel i just flashed without it and to my surprise the build actually came with the kernel pre-installed...shocker and so i had no need to flash over the kernel that i wants because the maker of g3 tmo blisspop already had it in his build and it boots up fine( DISCLAIMER: i cant say this about other roms because the only one i actually tested and wanted was blisspop)

Okay.
Well, when I was flashing I never flashed a kernel.
Ill be getting a brand new Anker Battery in the mail today. Ill report my findings.
I ended up going to a stock based rom and the issue never happened. So I stuck with it. Ill have to do some testing later and ill let you know how the battery works.
It's not the battery
I downgraded my T-Mo G3 since I couldn't root it with LP on it. Went back to 4.4.2., rooted it, TWRP'd it, and installed the latest CM12 Nightly, Gapps, SU, etc.
As long as the sim card was OUT the installation was great on wifi only, As soon as I put it in it shut off right after, or during boot up. Take the sim out and it works. And yes, the only way to get back into recovery was pulling the battery and doing the key press to recovery. Mystified.
If I find out anything, I'll post it here.
I'd say do a complete return to stock, upgrade via LG Mobile Support tool all the way to 20G, see how it works stock for a while. Then root ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3129197 using the first method) and see what happens.
So I followed the instructions here: http://galaxynote4root.com/galaxy-note-4-root/how-to-root-unlock-bootloader-on-galaxy-note-4/
Everything was great at first, but it slowly degraded. At first it was only occasional hangs, then it got worse and worse. I reinstalled with the retail cpa1 5.1.1 install, which removed root, and again everything was fine for a bit, then it got worse again. I'm on call for work and away from my computer for the day so I let it take the 6.0.1 OTA hoping it would fix the freezing problems, but nothing has changed.
What can I do differently to fix these freezing problems? I completely redid the instructions on that website hoping it would fix the issues, but the same thing happened again. Amazingly fast at first, then slowly degrading into frequent hanging or freezing. Thanks!

go install a custom rom like jasmineROM or EmotionOS, straight up stock can sometimes be unstable when you are rooted.

I can't even get it stable on full stock. I Odin'd in the Full Firmware for CPF3 in this thread: [Firmware] [Official] Firmware / Kernel / Modem / Recovery [N910VVRU2CPF3] by hsbadr which overwrote TWRP and seemingly removed all traces of rooting, yet the instability is still there.
It occasionally is giving me the error "System process stopped", occasionally is rebooting entirely, there have been a few times where it wouldn't boot up at all. I had to pull the battery and leave it out for 5-10 minutes to get it to boot. I'm running out of ideas on what to flash over to fix it. Is it possible that the Kernel I installed while rooted is causing problems? The full firmware for CPF3 should have overwritten it, correct?

I've had some issues myself. I originally used paul pizz PJ2, which is an awesome rom. Gives you stability of stock, but feel of custom. I then went to PL1 and EmotionOS. After a few days, I noticed, reduced connectivity, camera wouldn't focus, and button reassignments. So, I just wiped cache and Dalvik, stuck in boot loop. I downloaded the newest EmotionOS. Wiped everything, installed it. boot loop. So I did a another wipe and installed the deodexed Ricks ROM V2. So far so good, but it has only been a day. If you do a full retail firmware flash, that should fix your issues. If you did a full firmware, then yes, it would be overwritten. Try going back to 5.1.1 PA1 full firmware flash. Then you could allow the phone to take the OTA if you wish. But, that should fix the issue. If not let me know. And I will keep you informed of the new rom. Also, if you have a card reader, check your sd. Take anything that you want off of it, and wipe it as well. These Notes are finicky.

So I did actually go back to stock 5.1.1 and successfully take the 6.0.1 OTA, the issue didn't resolve. At that point I flashed the full stock CPF3, still no changes.
A new thing has popped up too. When I try to boot into recovery it says it's installing an update, then after about 5 minutes it goes to a black screen and nothing happens. I end up having to pull the battery to restart it. Discovered that when I tried to go clear all the caches and such before flashing CPF3, and it is still doing the same thing after flashing CPF3. I thought that by flashing the full firmware for CPF3 it would solve that.

Yep it did. So I think I've actually fixed it now. I thought that flashing the full firmware would also flash the boot loader and modem, but I Odin'd both of those in and so far so good! It did the whole updating thing again just like before this time, but when it was done it actually loaded up recovery like it was supposed to. So at that point I wiped the cache, factory reset, then used Odin to flash in the boot loader and modem for CPF3 that I found in that thread.
I've been using my phone and installing things for a couple hours now and haven't had a single hang. Before I did this, it would hang very quickly. Maybe I'll get brave and try rooting and whatnot again later, but for now I'm just going to back off for a bit. Thanks for the help!
And so much for that. It was more stable than it had been in ages so I started installing all my apps and whatnot, now it's just as unstable as it used to be, just took a couple days to happen. I'm running out of ideas
Hello guys,
I managed again to brick my phone.
I flashed Fulmics as I wanted to swap from those not fully stable nougat roms. Well, I have no idea what caused my problem - Fulmics run without prolbems for a 2 or 3 days including xposed etc.
Then today I changed my ChromePie options and that's when the reboots began. I don't know if this the real cause was though.
So I tried to flash another rom but always got random reboot even in recovery after few minutes/seconds. So I went all the way back to stock rom (4.4.2) with LG Flash tool - which worked after a few tries. Then I installed MM rom via .kdz file and flash tool 2014, which also worked after a few more tries. But then the reboots started again. Can't say if the 4.4.2 rom was without boots because I updated to 6.0 quite quickly.
The strange thing is that after some reboots phone won't boot again and I have to take and leave out the battery for some time to boot the phone again.
Any solutions for my problems?
Best regards
..bumped into the same 1/2 year ago. Didn't want to put to much effort so,..went to stock and back, worked for me.
Good luck.

Which stock and how did you go back?
As mentioned I already went back to stock but the issue kept occuring.
Hi, got the same problem with my G3
wi fi and bluetooth didn't work and phone loop rebooted
Here below the steps I followed to solve
1) First attempt (didn't solve): had cloudy rom, got back to stock official but still rebooting, tried fulmics and other rom but problem persisted.
2) second attempt (didn't solve): went back to stock and changed battery (found somewhere in internet), now I have a brand new battery but a phone still loop rebooting
3) third attempt (SOLVED): found that the wi-fi / bluetooth chip (one for both) copuld have unwelded and solved so (it appears I can't post outside link, delete spaces to have the correct link):
youtube .com / watch?v=1zWpzYh2DPI&t=15s"
youtube .com/ watch?v=6_0jzp65eLY&t=256s
Now i'm on fulmics and no more loop reboot
Hope you can solve
[sorry for my english]

have to say restoring and/or flashing isn't always that stable. I've experienced it sometimes needs a 2nd try.
Hopefully it isn't a hardware issue in your case.
So I tried all of oyur suggestions but nothing seems to work.

In LG Flash Tool 2014 (flashing MM with kdz file) phone shuts down in middle of process.
But I can still access Download Mode.
No more ideas?
I really think I finally broke my phone... But the fact that I can still access download mode keeps my hopes up.
So, after 2 months I just tried to reawaken my phone. Still the exact same problem. It just keeps shutting down aber some while, but just when I start flashing something. If it stays connected to computer whitout doing anything it can stay on for like ever.
Can anyone confirm that this could be a hardware defect?
