Been Using G3 for the past 5 months. Faced tonnes of issues with over heating, restarting, etc.
But I thought all would be resolved with the Lollipop update.
Unfortunately, that's not the case here. I just updated to Lollipop last night and faced 3 inappropriate restarts in less than 24 hrs.
Any Suggestions or remedial measure is welcome guys. Using a stock and Unrooted device for now.

Why would you think everything magically solves itself by a simple update?
What you could try is flashing the latest .kdz for your device via a "normal flash" which wipes everything from your phone so you're back at the beginning, most of the time that solves half of the problems on here.
Please use the forum search function or Google to find out how to flash a .kdz file onto your G3 and how to obtain your latest .kdz file.
Thanx for the hint.
Flashed the new kdz (D85520A_00) and yet my fone restarts as before. Sometimes its so annoying that it continuously restarts.
Thanx again for replying.

Hey guys I've had this issue where regardless of what music app I use, a few seconds after I turn my screen off (i.e. lock the device) the music will stop playing until I turn it back on.
Anyone have any idea why? I'm on version 10e (latest according to PC Suite and OTA Checker), and I'm stock unrooted.
Other than that the phone's been amazing and blazing fast, even outspeeding my M8 GPE sometimes

Also, when charging, this problem doesn't occur. This further adds to the mystery...
Also, it happens if I have music local or streaming, so that rules out network issues.

UPDATE: OK so after messing with about every single setting on the phone, I tried switching it back to Dalvik. Fixed everything 100%. Whole phone is faster, from opening apps to web pages.
Very strange... Not sure why there would be so much ART incompatibility, but I guess it's 4.4.2 and not .3 or .4. If anyone else has has this problem (including an inability to wake the phone up without a few tries), check your RunTime. I'm hoping it'll be better next update, but for now this'll have to do.

Hi there!
I have exactly the same problem since I updated the phone to Lollipop (D85520A) but before that I didn't have that problem. Firstly I found this when I updated to D85519H and then I performed another update to the current version (D85520A) and it didn't help. The smartphone is way better, but this problem is really ennoying me.
ART is not available on Lollipop and my phone went only for one day to ART mode and it was a pain in the ass (when I still had 4.4.2) and then I switched back to normal.
I am thinking about to a factory reset and reinstall Android 5.0 on CSE mode AGAIN and see what happens, but I think it won't help at all.
Do you have any idea of what could I do in order to solve this problem?
Thank you in advance.
Fixed
Hi there!
Just a short update.
Like I mentioned before, I got this problem when I updated my phone with the new Lollipop FW (D85519H) and then I tried to perform another update using the D85520A but the problem was still there. So I believe that the update didn't fix the issue from the previous update so I performed another clean update using the same last one and the problem disappeared.
Thank you anyway.

Probably CSE flash with this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
A fair number of unlucky LG G3 owners using AOSP/CM-based ROMs, myself included, have a major problem with the issue where a reboot/power-on cycle results in the phone getting stuck at the LG or boot splash screen ad infinitum.
The only way around it is to do a battery pull, sometimes several times, before the phone eventually recovers, but not until after it's gone thru its "Optimizing" or "Upgrading" apps, which takes 5-10 extremely annoying minutes.
I'm using a D851 and have this issue with every ROM I've used (Xenon, Exodus, AICP, to name a few).
This is not a battery issue as I've had the same problem using batteries from 3 different manufacturers. I've also had the same problem when plugged in.
If anyone knows of a fix - would be greatly appreciated (please don't say factory reset or root back to stock - I've already done this and it doesn't fix this issue).
I also have this problem with aosp and cm roms, i also get bsod sometimes. I think that maby the battery is broken, but im not sure since i dont got any problems on stock. When i get money for a new battery i will reply here with results.
I got my new battery today and it bootet up instantly
I had this issue on my d852 running cm12.1. It turns out using autorec is what caused it for me. I fixed it by flashing a kitkat tot then installing twrp using flashify. Once I had twrp installed I flashed the modem.bin from a lollipop d852 kdz. I haven't had a shutdown/reboot hang in a week now.
I have the same problem D851, it happens on latest builds of exodus and aicp. candy and blisspop works fine without any issues. I have changed the battery but the problem persist on exodus and aicp
Hello guys,
I managed again to brick my phone.
I flashed Fulmics as I wanted to swap from those not fully stable nougat roms. Well, I have no idea what caused my problem - Fulmics run without prolbems for a 2 or 3 days including xposed etc.
Then today I changed my ChromePie options and that's when the reboots began. I don't know if this the real cause was though.
So I tried to flash another rom but always got random reboot even in recovery after few minutes/seconds. So I went all the way back to stock rom (4.4.2) with LG Flash tool - which worked after a few tries. Then I installed MM rom via .kdz file and flash tool 2014, which also worked after a few more tries. But then the reboots started again. Can't say if the 4.4.2 rom was without boots because I updated to 6.0 quite quickly.
The strange thing is that after some reboots phone won't boot again and I have to take and leave out the battery for some time to boot the phone again.
Any solutions for my problems?
Best regards
..bumped into the same 1/2 year ago. Didn't want to put to much effort so,..went to stock and back, worked for me.
Good luck.

Which stock and how did you go back?
As mentioned I already went back to stock but the issue kept occuring.
Hi, got the same problem with my G3
wi fi and bluetooth didn't work and phone loop rebooted
Here below the steps I followed to solve
1) First attempt (didn't solve): had cloudy rom, got back to stock official but still rebooting, tried fulmics and other rom but problem persisted.
2) second attempt (didn't solve): went back to stock and changed battery (found somewhere in internet), now I have a brand new battery but a phone still loop rebooting
3) third attempt (SOLVED): found that the wi-fi / bluetooth chip (one for both) copuld have unwelded and solved so (it appears I can't post outside link, delete spaces to have the correct link):
youtube .com / watch?v=1zWpzYh2DPI&t=15s"
youtube .com/ watch?v=6_0jzp65eLY&t=256s
Now i'm on fulmics and no more loop reboot
Hope you can solve
[sorry for my english]

have to say restoring and/or flashing isn't always that stable. I've experienced it sometimes needs a 2nd try.
Hopefully it isn't a hardware issue in your case.
So I tried all of oyur suggestions but nothing seems to work.
On the contrary I ended up in a status where I can't even flash a new firmware.
In LG Flash Tool 1.8.1 I get the error
"Donwload Fail!!!"

In LG Flash Tool 2014 (flashing MM with kdz file) phone shuts down in middle of process.
But I can still access Download Mode.
No more ideas?
I really think I finally broke my phone... But the fact that I can still access download mode keeps my hopes up.
So, after 2 months I just tried to reawaken my phone. Still the exact same problem. It just keeps shutting down aber some while, but just when I start flashing something. If it stays connected to computer whitout doing anything it can stay on for like ever.
Can anyone confirm that this could be a hardware defect?
Hello everyone.
A few days ago i was just normally using my Xperia Z5 Premium then all of a sudden my phone started lagging. No button was responding, screen became totally unresponsive as well. I had to hard shutdown the phone and restart it. It worked but then after about an hour it started to happen again. I just flashed the latest 32.4.a.1.54 firmware (clean install) and started all over again. It worked for a day or two and then back to the same ****ty lag. I am unable to figure out what exactly is the problem. At first i thought that maybe the ta_po+Magisk 14.5 is causing the problem. To clear the doubt i tried to use old drm fix from tobias's tool but it is also happening after it. I have flashed my phone over 10 times to solve the issue by trying to know if a magisk module is causing the problem or not but nothing. I cannot find any error in magisk log nor did this happen on installing any thing. It all started out of nowhere and now i'm pissed. Please someone help me troubleshoot this issue.
I am using stock rom stock kernel for modifications and not the available custom kernels or roms.
P.S: while doing all that drm + root thing i have always followed the exact instructions in doing so. My method worked well with the past firmwares. It also worked with this latest S.H.I.T but now it's bothering me. I have tried searching the web and tried using the available solutions (So called Movie Creator app problem and Blah Blah Blah) but S.H.I.T happended.....:crying::crying::crying:
Hello everyone,
My devices reboots 4-5 per day since the august stock OTA. I thought that Magisk was the problem, so I didnĀ“t tried to fix that. Otherwise, since I updated to the last version, 2 days ago, and removed root, the problem persist. Anyone had ever any similar problem?
By the why, I have to say that I made a few factory resets in the last months; doing this fixes the problem for me temporally, but the reboots happen again after other few (2-3) days.
Not here, sorry to read that.

Hi
No problems here, but I'm not rooted.
The battery life decrease a lot too, but this time just after rooting. With same SO version, my phone last 4:30-5h of screen on without Magisk, but it hardly gets 2:30-3h after installing that. Any idea?
