Volume control issues - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

As strange bug!! Three issues with increasing volume level by buttons or on screen bar.
1) Increasing the volume above the mid level locks my phone.
2) On trying to unlock it asks for pattern unlock which is quite strange given the phone is in middle of operations.
3) The desktop background changes to the default "Never Settle" one.
Have identified only these three issues yet with the volume control. Don't know what else it causes to fail. Please Help!!!

help with a tweak: lock screen but keep volume buttons unlocked

Here is a question for the most advanced of you on wm6 tweak; take it as a challenge ;-)
I like the screen lock tweak, but I would like to be able to have the volume buttons unlocked, since quite often I listen to music and I want to adjust volume in connection to how noise the place is. As it is right now, I have to unlock the phone every time before pressing the volume buttons up or down.
Do you have any ideas on how to play with the registry in order to achieve this? I have the HTC Diamond 2...

Where is the silent mode???

Hi
on HTC devices I was able to use the volume rocker to set the device to vibration and by pressing the volume down button again to mute my device completely.
This is not possible any more in ICS? I can only set the device to vibration. What about muting?
The thing I am wondering about is, that I can use the HTC widget to do that and sometimes my profile manager (setting profiles) also is able to enter silent mode. So sometimes I can see the crossed note icon in notification bar, but most often I only see the vibration icon.
What is that supposed to be?
Frank
The device goes from 7,6,5,4,3,2,1,SILENT,VIBRATE

If you hold volume down until it goes to vibrate mode, just press it up once and you will then have silent mode
No idea. But for me it works like a charm. volume rocker first all the way down - vibrate mode and once more and its silent mode (or vice versa, cant remember exactly). Same with the widget. Press it once, silent, two times, vibrate.
Not working for me... 3, 2, 1, vibrate. Volume down no more reaction. Volume up again, volume setting to 1.
But good to know that this should work. So maybe something is messing with the settings in background.
im not sure as i dont own the one x yet, but maybe it is like on the gnex with stock ICS that u need to go to the settings first and check the option: silent mode!
This is really weired.
Using the volume rocker to show the volume slider and then pressing the icon in front of the slider switches between the 3 modes as expected.
Using the volume rocker now, after playing with the settings, sometimes switches to silent mode but most of the time still only vibrant.
Sometimes I see a short silent mode icon in notification (just for the part of a second).
I have the HTC widget on home screen showing the mode. This often shows a different mode as the icon in the not.area.
So whats's wrong with my device???
I even uninstalled my profile manager for testing. No change...
Using the rocker it will go from loud to quiet then vibrate, now just press up on the rocker and it will go from vibrate to silent.
use the rocker then slide the thing down = sound off.
I attached 2 screenshots showing the illogical settings I get using the volume slider...
First image:
You can see the mute icon in not-area and the zero volume value in slider but the HTC widget shows vibrate
Second image:
Still muted but showing vibration profile here too
Why am I the only one having that problem???
OK, solved it. Resetted to factory default and restored step by step. Seems that the setting data storage was damaged. Skipped this on restore and everything is fine now!!!
I use the widget because I cannot get it to go into silent mode using the volume rockers (but then neither could my Xperia Arc on the stock ROM, so I guess that's normal)

This also solved my issue.

Standby loop

When trying to set my Desire into standby mode by pressing the power button it switches on the display again at once. Even trying some other ROMs doesn't fix the problem.
Does anyone know why and has a solution for this problem?
Your power button might be damaged. Look for a screen lock app on the playstore and use it to put your device to sleep instead of using the power button.
via xda app
Same with such an app. Display comes back again.
Volume button sems to be active too cause after display comes back sometimes the volume setting "sound " appears .
No idea or wrong category here?
Did you activate a "volume key wake" that enables volume keys to wake up the device ?
On my Desire these buttons can be a bit hard to push sometimes, maybe you have the opposite effect ?
Edit : such settings may be found in the "display" section of the settings tab
No, even several other Roms didnĀ“t fix the problem.
Also watched: the volume funktion seems to be active in background too cause after almost every "wake up" the ring volume setting is displayed for 1 second.
Seems to be a hardware problem but the Desire did not fall down or sth like that...
When choosing trackball or volume key for wakeup in the settings, the display always switches on and off. Power button still causes a hard reset.

[APP]Ringer Mode Lock - Android 4.2 volume buttons fix

This application blocks the ringer mode to avoid changing the mode when the phone is locked (screen on)
this is a workaround for the following strange behavior / bug on stock android 4.2+:
Note: my phone uses a pattern to unlock screen.
- Steps to reproduce the problem.
1.Lock the phone, and light the screen with power button.
2.Long press power button until the power off menu appears.
3.Press the power button to close the screen.
- What happened.
4.After that, every time the screen is lighted (but not unlocked), press the volume keys can change the volume though no music is playing at all.
The volume keys keep working each time I turn on the screen without unlocking, and it is back to normal when I unlock the phone use the unlock pattern and lock again.
- What you think the correct behavior should be.
The volume keys should not work at all when the phone is showing lock screen, it has accidentally muted my phone and led to missed calls. This is worse than power off menu it self. Since power off menu only appears with long press, but when ever the menu appears once, the volume keys work every time until I re-lock the phone.
And also I don't think the power off menu should appear by long pressing during locking state, since it is quite possible that the power button can be long pressed even in my pocket during taking the phone in or out.
P.S. When the phone is rebooted and went into lock screen the first time, the volume keys will work on lock screen without the necessity of showing the power-off menu.

Volume stuck in mute

Hey guys really need your help. I've noticed that my volume is getting stuck in like a mute mode. It doesn't ring at all and the volume controls do not work. I primarily notice this especially after I have connected a bluetooth device to my phone. I tried doing a search and couldn't find any info on this. I did find the issue pertaining to older phones but their recommended "closing all apps" didn't fix the problem. The only way I can get my volume to function again is to power cycle my phone. Downside, is unless I'm constantly monitoring my phone, I don't always notice that it has happened and have missed several calls as a result.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
if you press the volume up or down and then press the speaker icon (that appears on top left) one or two times and then you can increase the volume and decrease as normal, it will solve the problem, i dont know how i got stuck with mute but this solved my problem at least
