Anyone have an extra com.htc.resources apk

So i tried to remove the gps disabled icon in the status bar by pushing a modified com.htc.resources to my evo, but of course i ended up putting it in a boot loop. so does anyone have an unmodified com.htc.resouces. if it matters i was on Fresh 3.3.0.1(the latest one).
EDIT: Ok so i tried reflashing fresh and that worked, so i got the com.htc. resources apk on the root of my sdcard... but i cant figure out how to push it to the phone. Can someone at least help me with this step???

Need help with APK manager please

Hi guys,
Long time stalker, first time poster.
I am trying to use APK manager to edit some third party app apk's themes.
When i use option 9 to decompile, i try using option 11 to compile again straight away just to see if everything works ok...
If i decompile and change an image in res/drawable hdpi, i always get an error message when i try and compile it again...
Even if i only change one image and then compile it, it will show an error.
Does anyone know why im getting this error?
Thanks for any help you guys can give, its really frustrating!
Does anyone know why?
use the older version of the apktool.jar file. You can get it from his google code page.
Also remember if the image your changing is a 9.png then you need to make sure the all black, and totally clear edges stay that way or else you'll get an error compiling them again.
Another good idea is to post the portion of your log.txt file showing what's causing the error, cause otherwise we're just guessing.
And a final good idea is to ask your question in the apk manager thread. You'll get better support there.

[TUT] How to mod your stock rooted ROM without flashing.

There's a few stock modded roms for this phone, but there's a few more things I really want. As in, a custom battery image, changing clock color, and a few other performance and basic mods. It is easy to do, I am not taking credit for anything just thought since we don't have a big developer community I'd show everyone what I've been using. (I'm on my phone so if anything is weird I will fix it when I get on my computer in about a half hour)
*Notice status bar on my screen shot for mod examples*
This is all possible by using Xposed framework. It uses apks, so all you need to do is install it, apply it, and restart your device, simple as that.
Where do I get it? How do I do it? Steps here:
1. Download xposed installer from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401 ..all credit goes to rovo89 for making this. **Go into the app, and make sure to press install/update before you do anything else. Restart phone after.**
2. Download mods for the xposed framework, list of some of them here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327541, *notice, some mods aren't compatible with our devices, read before doing anything*
3. Install the apks you have downloaded (same as you would a third party apk)
4. Go into the xposed installer app and check mark the mod you just downloaded (second tab, modules)
5. Soft reboot or full reboot your device. If you have installed something that requires your own customization, do that before you restart your device. (Ex: choose clock color of your choice, then reboot.)
6. You're good to go.
All credits go to the developers who created these mods, give them a thanks for making it possible to mod your device without having to flash anything.
-I'm not responsible for anything that happens to your device, though I will provide support for anything, suggestions to adding to this thread are open-

[Q] System Strings Corrupted

Hi, I've been trying to google this for a while, but can't seem to find what I need.
I just installed the stock rooted deodexed rom from captain throwback: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671395
specifically 5.07.651.6 Stock Rooted - Deodexed
Everything worked great. Then I installed CT's circle battery mod, a random quick settings mod, and a random advanced power menu mod, cleared cache and dalvik cache, and rebooted multiple times.
Now some system strings are strange, like when adjusting the normal volume, it says "Playing through bluetooth" although nothing is connected via bluetooth or headphones, etc. Also when you pull down the top bar, it used to say "click to enable USB debugging" or something like that, but now it just says "Select input method", although everything seems to still function properly.
Where can I find these corrupted system strings to adjust them back?
Thanks
Just reflash the ROM. Not all of those old mods will work on the newest base. I believe there's some hex-editing that needs to be done in a framework file somewhere to fix that, but I don't know anymore than that.
Thanks for the quick response. In that case, which mods would you recommend as far as getting circle battery mod, quick settings, and advanced power menu? Should I leave it alone if I don't want to corrupt the strings again?

Click to collapse
I can't recommend any mods, as I haven't tested them. But the Circle Battery you should still be able to do yourself with UOT Kitchen. When it comes to APM & Quick Settings, that's where you're going to run into issues.
Awesome. I'm pretty sure it didn't happen until the APM mod, so I'll abandon that one. Thanks again for your help.
Edit: reflashing worked, and I was able to bake the honeycomb circle battery using UOT kitchen, plus the quicksettings I got from tommytomatoe works great. I wonder if I could have fixed the original issue by reinstalling the original framework-res.apk, systemUI.apk, and/or com.htc.resources.apk instead of having to reflash the whole rom. I guess I'll find out next time
