Anyone have an extra com.htc.resources apk - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So i tried to remove the gps disabled icon in the status bar by pushing a modified com.htc.resources to my evo, but of course i ended up putting it in a boot loop. so does anyone have an unmodified com.htc.resouces. if it matters i was on Fresh 3.3.0.1(the latest one).
EDIT: Ok so i tried reflashing fresh and that worked, so i got the com.htc. resources apk on the root of my sdcard... but i cant figure out how to push it to the phone. Can someone at least help me with this step???

I can do everything but the framework. Every time I modify the framework, I get into a bootloop where the phone just keeps playing the startup animation.
I can fix it through adb by restoring my framework-res.apk file.
Anyone with more knowledge than me that can look at this and see where the issue is?

Your post is a tad confusing. Are you attempting to push an HTC clock onto an AOSP or Sense Gingerbread rom? If it is the former, it's not going to work. If it is the latter, wouldn't it be easier to simply go into recovery, wipe cache & dalvik and then reflash the rom?

[Q] Fix for Stuck at HTC logo, after Font install fail?

So, thats what happened.
I have tried clearing dalvin cache, and regular cache.
I have tried, using a zip file to fix the clocktopia font, but I still get stuck at the HTC logo.
I used font installer (root), checked every font I could, and replaced it with a font from the list, after it said install, it gave me the option to reboot, my phone froze around that time. I popped the battery out, and back in, and now it wont start.
I am pretty noobish as you can tell with this kind of stuff, but I still think there has got to be a way to fix it w/o reverting to a backup (old), so I dont lose my data, so if anyone has any suggestions, I am more than willing to try them.
The only things I can think of, are maybe if someone has a zip file with all the default fonts in the right directories, i can install that via clockwork mod zip file, and try it.
Solved, just reinstalled CM7, didnt reset my user data beforehand, and so far running ok

Hmmm Not sure why UOT Kitchen is not working for me anymore...

I am on Wilstangs ota gingerbread sense mod and have a UOT Kitchen file that has worked for me many times before. Now I recently just created a new nandroid of the same rom and for some reason the UOT Kitchen (changing the battery mod and notification pulldown) no longer works. Weird...
I have tried clearing cache and davlik but what keeps happening is when I boot up my notification pulldown is completly gone. (Wasn't like this before) Even just tried to make a brand new UOT file and the same thing keep happening.
I can restore my nandroid and get my pulldown working again but can't alter it with the kitchen...

Before installing the mod from UOT, mount /system and /data in CWM

I tried doing this but only after the problem had already occured. In a little bit I will restore the rom and try that first. Thanks man. Will let you know in a bit.
[Edit] And...It still didn't work. Really weird.
I removed a few more internal apps since I last installed this UOT Kitchen file. VZW Backup asst, Field Trail, GSD, VPN_Services, and ummmm HTML_Viewer. But I don't think removing those .apks would have any effect on this. I just can't explain why this once worked and no longer does on the same exact rom...
So after rebooting, TB shows Status Bar 2.3.4 uninstalled. Question is why does this keep happening?
Upload the UOT mod to dropbox and we can look at it.
It could be a problem with your updater script or something simple like that.
Well I just reloaded an earlier nandroid of the same rom, loaded the UOT file, and just updated the rom to where I was just at.
So I had to go the long way around but I got it there. Still dont know what was uninstalng my Status Bar each time before.

Status/Notification bar is no longer visible

I attempted to flash a .zip patch to remove the QSlide Apps part of the notification drop-down menu, and since then I've been getting constant messages of "System UI has stopped" and the status bar does not show at all. Tried a factory reset on the phone itself but to no avail. Going to attempt to flash system stock ROM from a .zip ... any other suggestions / advice???
Thanks in advance

Why do you guys keep flashing things without making a backup first?! Unfortunately there is no other way for you to get back to working order; you have to LGPST back to stock. Next time make a backup if you're going to flash ANYTHING.

I had something simpler happen with exposed framework, my status bar would disappear then I would get an error "system UI has stopped" . Just un installed all modules and removed exposed. Not sure if you are using exposed. But that's how I fixed mine.
When the f*ck did we get ice cream??
Can a mod move this to the Q&A section please before it gets out of hand. Not flaming you bro but we as a community need to keep things in order and post where we are supposed to post. Don't worry we've all posted in the wrong section a time or two.

You dont need to flash the whole thing just overwrite LGSystemUI.apk with the original one I attached, set correct permission and reboot.
You should backup any file you decide to change first..luckily the phone will still boot with a bad systemui apk
Hopefully that fixes it, hopefully what he flashed didn't change any other files outside of Systemui.

Thanks for the apk and sorry about posting in the wrong forum at first.....
How exactly should I go about installing the new apk though? When I used Package Installer it keeps saying "Application not installed" and doesn't run. Sideload Wonder Machine or something equivalent maybe? I had a tough time today with setting up LGPST so I'd like to save that as a last resort if possible.... Thanks for the responses though!
Never mind....figured it out. Forgot it had to be pushed over.... Needless to say I need to spend some more time around Android! It's been a while since I first got in the game.
Status bar is back up and running, and it even maintained removal of the QSlide Apps portion, which is what I was trying to fix all along -- my original screw up! All's well that ends well I guess.
Thanks all for your help! :good:
