57 minutes for 48%. What kind of fast charge is that? I have the SD version and find my charging extremely slow in comparison to my oneplus 3 with Dash charging which goes from 0 to 100 in minutes I've one hour. I know the note 7 battery is 500 mah more but that still doesn't explain...
Is there something wrong with my device or are all of you getting those slow, fast-charging speeds?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I believe dash charge is equivalent to Qualcomm's quick charge 3.0 and the note 7 uses fast charge 2.0. so that itself should make it take longer plus the battery is larger.
Also the battery should charge faster up to the 50 percent mark them slow some.

OnePlus 3 uses its own form of quick charging. From what I read online, OnePlus 3 uses a 5V/4A/20W charger, and you need to use both charger and cable for Dash Charge to work.
Even though the US variant Note 7 is using a Snapdragon, Samsung never claimed to be using Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0, only their own Fast Charge. And it looks like Samsung's equivalent of QC2.0

Just a quick question, which charger does the US Snapdragon Note 7 come with? What's the W/A/V?

Mine charges super fast like 3percent a minute maybe a little faster.

Samsung specifically mentioned fast charge would take a little bit longer do to the fact of the battery being 17% bigger than the note 5 battery! It's charging at the same speed, however it simply takes more time due to 500 extra mAh of battery!

3% per minute would be like 0 to 100% in 34 minutes which makes no sense. I didn't even catch that. Lol. Not sure he was paying attention to what he wrote.

Anything over 1 hour and a half fo 0 to 100% is not fast enough anymore.
Sent from my note 7, my pixel C or my oneplus 3 depending on how I'm feeling!

I'm getting an hour and 30 minutes from 0 to 100%. It seems unbearably slowww. And I'm getting terrible screen on time.(3-4 hours) Is my unit defective? Running the snapdragon variant on t-mobile

The charge time varies greatly depending on the battery state. Much more current is applied to batteries when they are depleted and less as the process goes on, QC's quick charging for example is down to .1 amp at the end of the charge regimen. It matters because increasing your battery capacity from 3k to 3500 means you aren't just fast charging longer, you're also slow charging longer because you have more capacity in both windows. This also means it takes much longer to go from 70 to 100 percent than it does to go from 40 to 70 even though the percentage gained was the same.
QC licenses their charge technologies free of royalties. Intel and Samsung implementations are based on them. Oppo on the other hand has a more expensive (it relies on special batteries) but superior technology which like all the QC variants utilizes embedded circuitry and associated logic to tightly control the charge.

Doesn't seem to be too fast

Crazy I plugged mine in and blinked
When i looked back I went from 0%-99%
Pretty pist off it wasny on 100% tbh

Yes I rebooted 4 times and were using it on ans off. Just playing around with the new phone but no videos or games tho .
Still seems a bit of bad battery life ! Right ?
Any ideas on a good rom kernal combo ? I'm on AOKP with a Franco kernal ( tried about 4 kernals )
Thanks again ..!!

could you show us your actual screen on time and awake time? This first screenshot doesn't show us enough information.
Theres obviously a problem but we need to see some more info.
What is your screen on time like the previous poster asked?
If you're getting like 3 hours screen on time then you won't see much improvement from any rom or kernel...
There is my screen on. Is that some what normal ?
My Inc 2 was really good on battery so maybe I'm expecting too much ?

2 hours screen on time is okay. If you hadn't rebooted four times you could have got three.
In my experience 2 hours of screen time is terrible, even with 100% brightness.
I use AOKP rom and Lean kernel tho.
With 100% brightness on all the time I'd expect at least 3 hours but I never leave it maxed out all the time, so I always get at least 4 hours screen time along with 24+ total.
Is your phone new? That could be the problem, the first three days. my battery life was maybe 5 hours at best.

It makes it a small amount (1mm or so) thicker. The cell is 14% larger mAh wise. So the battery life doesn't increase dramatically.

Here is what I got from the extension battery that was supposed to give me five hours extra. I'm normally impatient and don't have time to charge my phone when I get a new one so I drained it and gave it a full charge. (I know its li ion).
This was on 4G and did wat I normally would do. This is my second day with the phone. So I haven't had the chance to try this battery only on 3G yet and unfortunately I won't get a chance to try these fairly new battery's on the 4G network again.
But here is a screen shot of my extended battery on the 4G network. Not happy. I didnt even come close to five hours let alone what she promised.

Well I need to know from you guys, it's not that I don't know, but need to reconfirm. I think mine is taking much lower now than it was. A full charge, say from 5% to 100%, with Stock charger?

Charging from 0 to 90% happens in no more that 2 hours I would say. from 90% to 100% the charging rate gets slowed a lot. So basically shouldn't take more than 2:30 hours from 0 to 100%.
Thanks guys. Now I remember it was 2 hours 45 mins for me too at first.
Today it took 4 hrs 30 mins. Reason? I'll say tomorrow, after confirming.

you are welcome. the general rule is to try to 1) avoid charging to 100%, really diminishing return the higher it goes; and 2) avoid deep discharge cycle. I usually use 40% of the capacity at work everyday, so charge to ~70% in the morning, use down to ~30% and then charge again. charging time in this range is rather linear, about 1 percent a minute

Yeah, it happened to mine too few days back. My Note2 went crazy, taking around 7-8 hrs to fully charge from 15%. So, i tried searching about the problem on google but to no avail. Did a factory reset with cache wipe and problem solved :good:. Now it takes about 2.5 hrs to fully charge from say 10% (using the samsung wall charger with phone switched on). I can only say that the slow charging was caused due to some software but don't know exactly which one? You may as well try the hard reset if anything else doesn't work out .
P.S : Btw i'm on stock fw with no root or mod! Only did some OTA updates couple of weeks ago.
Guys, we have a changeable battery and is already writed Inside to android that it won't charge to 100%, it just shows at 100% but really it is at 95%-98% that feature came with 2.2.1 update 2yrs ago.
And we can change the battery after 2yrs for 20-30$, unlike Nokia lumia users or HTC one x or iPhone users.

Yeah, thanks. But if you've Watchdog installed then you can see which app is going over threshold and keep running on background. And yes, this time, again, the culprit was PowerAMP! Uninstalled it and voila. The same app created problem for me when I had my S2, charging was pathetically slow, even I had to go to SC and they said battery is gone. But I didn't believe and asked a techy friend and he said it might be some app, and damn right he was.
Anyway, if anyone having the same issue like mine, that is, charging duration has increased with Stock charger, then install Watchdog (the lite version will do) and see who is the culprit.
I have no idea how a top app like PowerAMP could cause this! Jeez!

You have to use a 1amp charger or its not strong enough doesn't matter who makes it...
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
You have to use an official Sammy charger. The pins are switched around on Sammy chargers and the phone can tell the difference. Use ANY other charger, no matter the brand or amperage, and the phone will only charge at 350mah. Use a Sammy charger, and it will charge at the full 750mah or 1amp depending on the output of the charger. I have a stock 700mah Sammy charger, a 1amp iPhone charger, a few HTC chargers and 2 amp Sammy tablet charger. If I use the 1 amp Apple charger or any of the HTC chargers it takes 5-8 hours to fully charge. If I use the Sammy chargers it takes 2-3 hours to fully charge at the max. So.. yea. Get a stock Samsung charger.

I'm not arguing with you anymore dude. Not only are you full of it but you apparently like to lie too. Your phone, no matter what charger you use, won't charge as fast unless you're using the Samsung charger. And even then, at 900mah an hour, it still takes almost 3 hours to fully charge with the phone on.
Also you're a flat out non appreciative douche. If it wasn't for TDJ lots would still be broken on this phone. You have plenty to thank him for and maybe if you played attention to what was going on in his threads you would understand why he left and came back a few times. YOU are what's wrong with xda. Making absurd claims that not only myself but PLENTY of other members know are untrue and criticizing others, especially recognized developers, without contributing a damn thing yourself.
Also let me add that you haven't been here longer than I have. You started your account on June 1st 2008, I started mine in March of 2008. Your idiocy is unfathomable.

O wow 3 whole months now you show you arrogance...anyone on here who has a Samsung phone will testify the fact that their phone charge just fine and just as fast of any charger they use that is one amp anybody disagrees with this let them come forward...just look it up... What the OP stated that his phone was discharging while using and all I did was try to help him and tell him the reason why that was happening...and your three months doesn't make you smarter than me.... Why don't you show proof of an article or a link that tells anybody on here at Samsung Chargers are the only charger that will charger phone properly... Besides Samsung that will tell you that just because they want you to buy their charger

Was your gps, wifi, bluetooth or any wireless connection on and for how long? Are you in a good coverage area? Where do you usually use your phone.? These are the questions you have to ask yourself before you say your battery is poor. 1 or more of these could easily deplete yours or any battery.

So I guess I didn't give you enough information in my first post.
First go to the Better Battery Stats thread, found here: -----> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809&nocache=1
Then go to the bottom of the 2nd post and download & install the free 1.12RC7 XDA version of Better Battery Stats. {or whatever the current version is.}
Then read through the thread to learn what you need to know about troubleshooting your battery use.
If it all works out, you should be able to find what is using your battery so fast.
Then, go to the link at the beginning of the 2nd post and buy the paid version of Better Battery Stats.
....get it? It's free?

Your battery doesn't seem defective, but definitely something is going on in the background. That's the kind of battery life I get after flashing a new rom or kernel before it settles in and I get some charge cycles in. Most defective batteries last very little time it's rare they still get over 6 hrs. Troubleshoot your battery first and if that fails get a replacement battery.

I noticed that media services is showing it's using a lot of battery and that's a sign of external sd card problems. This is widely documented, by chance are you using a SanDisk card? I experienced this and it was killing my battery, I swapped it out with a Samsung card and everything returned to normal. No more battery drain.

Yeah I have the 32 GB SanDisk Ultra 1, I have all my music on it and play it, if I copy my music to internal memory and play it from there, will that work?, cause I can't afford to get a new sd anytime soon. Also, how do I trouble shoot my battery? I also read that media server is a major bug in android. I read that all I have to do is force stop media storage after I'm done playing music or a game because it keeps running in the background is this a solution?

Make sure your nfc is off and kill the extra apps when not using them

To be honest I'm not sure about the force stop media services. I just know that when out of nowhere my battery started draining quickly and media services was keeping the phone from sleeping, I was getting the sd card suddenly removed messages. Swapping it out solved my battery issue.

T-Mobile is sending me a new battery. But I don't think that will help. They need to send out another update and fix this crap. I didn't spend all that money to have a better phone and better battery life for it too die in 6hrs. So if you guys have any tips or tricks to fix this please let me know. Someone said to master reset my phone. Will that help or will I be wasting my time?

What sort of battery life are you getting?

I'm a bit disappointed with the G3 battery life. With no activity I'm losing about 10% per hour.
I have 16gb D855 and am on 10g EUR.
Think 10g might be the issue....can anyone confirm this please?
How are you all faring with battery life?
Thanks.

If you're losing 10% per hour you need to check your apps.
Something is milking it. I am also on 10G firmware, and I'm getting around two days with moderate to heavy use.

The GWatch shouldn't be sucking up excessive battery life unless you're using it flat out. Even then I think it should only use up a couple of % per hour.
Process of elimination, go through some apps you have recently installed and check their use. It could also be google play services that is eating up battery. Go to battery in settings and check what's using up the most processes and go from there.

I agree but I can't see any phone apps that look likely from battery stats.
I'm wondering if a G Watch app might be the culprit, so I'm going to try and eliminate those firstly.
Thanks.

How is it nonsense? If you have ever read any of my posts you'll know I don't care about SOT, I actually use my phone for what it is for... Phone calls and texts.
Yes I use the internet on it and social media, but because YOU cannot get this, does not mean it's "nonsense" so little troll, crawl back into your cave and come back when you have something productive to say. That's the problem with XDA lately, full of idiotic posters and members like yourself.

Got to agree with the first poster that 2 days with moderate to heavy use is easily achievable. Screenshots below are with heavy use.
Gotta say though that you are probably seeing different results because of your individual phones. This is my second G3. The first was a dog which luckily I had replaced. They were like chalk and cheese in terms of battery use.
Just waiting for boot loader unlock then I'll root and start optimizing it a bit. At a rough guess I should be able to improve these stats by about 25%.

I have less than 1/2% usage per hour when nothing is going on (ie no screen time) and I'm on wi-fi. 10% is WAY TOO HIGH. There is definitely something going on if you are losing that much while the phone is idle.
I got my phone from Amazon two weeks ago but that doesn't really tell me if it's part of some early 'bad batch' or not.
Does anYone know how you can tell the date of manufacture?
I'm getting better life with the G WAtch off and also wondering if the knock code consumes battery life.
I'm using the GSam battery monitor but the main bulk of usage is by the android system and not any of the apps.
Any more suggestions very welcome.
Thanks.

I've installed the setu app but not sure I'm getting much out of it as I'm not rooted and lots of stats just aren't available in the app. I'm a bit loathed to root yet as I'm still undecided about the phone and whether to keep it or send it back as a dodgy one
Do you have any other suggestions for non rooted users?

My battery life on my F460S is much worse than my D850. I think this is because of the phone note being optimized for US networks. I'm waiting for the BL unlock so I can flash a ROM that may fix the issue. My D850 would average 5hrs SOT , but my F460S averages about 3hrs SOT. I'll upload some screens shots a little bit when I get home from classes.
