Hey there!
Is anyone having issues when typing? The lag on my phone is insane whenever I type no matter what application I use. Just upgraded to the new software too, same issue.
Are you using the Samsung keyboard? And predictive typing is slow to catch up?

Yeah, I'm using the Samsung keyboard. Part of it is that predictive typing is slow to catch up, but I don't depend on that anyways. The larger issue is that there's a lag of around half a second or more when I type a letter and when it pops up on the screen.
Yes! With official and Google keyboard... It's unbearable. I've installed Chrooma and it's much better.

That's so weird. One would expect the stock keyboard to be snappy.
Yeah I don't know what it is. Every Samsung I've owned has had issues with input lag.
The phone registers your input instantly, but there's a huge delay between when you press and when it shows on screen. Deleting characters/words is just as bad, correct?

Come on. That's hardly a reason not to get the phone. There's plenty of good keyboards in the Play Store. Try Swiftkey.

Hmm, mine is same as my Note5. Also, Google Keyboard feels lightning fast, especially with haptic feedback off (but that's all keyboards).
I hardly use stock keyboard anyway. I use either Swiftkey or Google Keyboard. Depending on my mood.
Hopefully Samsung patch this up with Nougat.
I'm on a Verizon Note 7 and have this issue no matter what keyboard I use. SwiftKey is slightly better but not by much. Hoping they can patch it.
Same for me. SwiftKey in every phone for years and sometimes it's fine, sometimes it's not. Sound more like queuing priority in the CPU. It can be fixed IMHO.

Does anyone have problems where multiple key presses happen and you get excessive letters when typing. I posted this on another forum with the errors left to show.
"Ssso the definite symptoms off my problem is the excessive letterrr input when typing. Iv even left the errors in this paragraph for a example.
Nextt obvious one is scrolling issues in menus or webpages.
So if anyone is experiencing these two most common symptoms let me know. No doubt mine is likely defective and will be getting a replacement.
It could still be software problem yett and because off how new the phone is, it may not bbe quite public yet."
Clearly you can see how ffustratingg thiss can be. Kinda taaaakingg the sting out of the fun off having a new toy.

I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not the TP2 still has the keyboard problem from the touch pro?
What's the keyboard problem from the Touch Pro?
Yeah
What is the problem?
Please let us know
I don't know what problem touch pro keyboard has
I searched around and I think this problem is keyboard lag. However, I don't think it exists on the TP2, as the review here (to read it, you'll probably need google translator to translate the page) only mentions how quickly the device runs and how amazing the keyboard is, there's nothing about keyboard lag.

Actually, I'm curious to see if the lag is still there. It is still completely awful on the Kaiser.
For everyone who has it, how is it thus far?
Compared to the Kaiser this thing is a dream! I press a button and the character appears on the screen at the same time! It's wonderful!
No more waiting for the last 2 words I typed to appear slowly. It's much much better

There is no keyboard lag whatsoever that I'm experiencing with my Touch Pro 2. I typed a sermon summary from a church's sunday service superbly with the keyboard. Loving it so much!
nope, it's lag-less
woops, forgot about this. hahaha.
I was talking about the countless number of keyboards breaking on the touch pro.
Tons of threads about it over at ppcgeeks.
It's something to do with the ribon or something inside and it breaks or pops out,
and then you're keyboard decides to stop working.
My friends has gone out like 2 times on him, and had to get 2 other replacements,
and this is within the past 4 months. lol.
But I already got the TP1.

only way I could get it was if I bought it at full retail

cool.
I received mine in the mail yesterday and wanted to give my mini review.
I currently have or had:
G1
G2
G2x
Sensation
Hercules
The reason I mention this is because this phone is not much nicer then the G2, G2x or the sensation but this phone is still solid.
I paid the outright price and coming from these phones I just cant see the difference for me to spend $560. This is just based on the feature and feel of the phone vs what I already own. If you were coming from a old phone by all means this is slightly better then the rest I mentioned but not $560 better.
Pros:
No pentile
No screen door effect (spaced pixels)
No Yellow Tint
No over colored greens and oranges
Fast web browser alive, I mean WOW! Flash sites run very well
NFC
Decent processor
Fastest download speed from Tmobile device yet
Very light
Nice feel in hand
Cons:
Defective screen (I had the pixelated, washed out /brushed steel stripes) the artifacts stay in the same place and is noticeable when I pull down the notification bar.
DPI is way to HIGH for such a resolution - Not bad but should be a option
Stutters 10% of the time
Car audio does not have the Voodoo punch from stock, not sure about later development or if a compatible chip is in there.
This phone did not blow me away but will offer it to my girlfriend over the sensation for the only reason being the GPS is terrible int he sensation and we use the navigation a lot and wanted to smash the sensation many times.
This phone is very close to being sent back but even if keeping this is being exchanged for a different screen.

This is my first Super AMOLED device so I'm not sure what to expect. I came from MyTouch4G before this and an SE x10i before that, and both fo them had LCD's iirc.
My friend has a Sprint GS2 and I got to compare them side by side. I noticed it's much less apparent on the Sprint one (Had to get up really close and carefully stare at it) so you almost cant tell, and when the brightness is up to about 30% it's just gone completely.
I tried to show him the lines I was talking about but he couldn't see them at all, and ended up calling me insane. So it's also the eye of the beholder.. so to speak. I don't have much evidence to go on other than what I'm seeing, and am fairly convinced it's hardware issue. I remember the MT4G had 2 different batch of screens where the viewing angles and vibrance was substantially different. This might be the same case, though I would expect more from "Super AMOLED Plus".

Based on the pictures someone posted, I find it unnerving that it's only one the right side of the screen.
It's almost as though it's hardware related in the sense that it has something to do with whatever is right beneath that part of the screen. Could it be heat related? The CPU being there? etc.
I don't remember seeing this on European GS2 when I played with it.
This is why even if the prime wasn't coming, I'd be hesitant to pick up the GS2 as the screen itself is a new line of manufacturing....and I'd rather let the first adopters deal with the imperfections while they work the kinks out in their manufacturing process.
I'm on my second SGS2 in two days. The first one was bad. Very bad. Defective screen: grey stripes, washed out colors. Extreme stuttering. Ok. Recieved my second one 3 hours ago. Great screen. Practically no stuttering.... until the first hard reboot. Bam! As bad as the first one except the screen. Laggy, choppy. Impossible to enjoy. Wtf????
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
I've noticed stuttering with the screen animations on. Once I turned them off, no problems. I've got the grey stripes, as well. If I keep my brightness around 50%, more or less, I don't really notice them. Debating on whether an exchange is in order.

I just came back from the T-mobile store and I'm happy to say that the exchanged device is much better in terms of the vertical lines. I'm fairly convinced that it's the nature of these AMOLED displays, only some seem to be worse than others. My old device was at ~40% brightness and it's still pretty clearly visible. Now with this new one, I can go down to ~20% without even noticing it unless I reeeeaaaally stare into it.
Make sure you test it beforehand though. I checked 2 of their display models and they both had that problem. I lucked out with the new one they handed me at random.

ok thanks. I see it now and I will have to look at my phone closer to see if I have the problem. I hope not.
ive had no probs but no phone is 100% perfect
I wasn't sure how to describe it in the title. I just got my GNex direct from Google yesterday. I noticed that what is displayed on the screen seems to linger for a bit after the display changes. It's especially noticeable on Google Play; I type something in the search bar, hit enter, and when the keyboard disappears, I can see outlines of the keys still there mostly faded on the dark "loading" background, going away after a few seconds. It's similar to what used to happen to older TVs/monitors if you were to leave the same image on the screen for a long time and it would "burn" on.
Is this something I should be concerned about? I'm not aware of mobile displays needing any kind of training period, should I give it a few days?
EDIT:

Here is what I don't like:
1. When you wake up the phone from sleep there is a noticeable delay.
2. After you hang up the phone, there is a delay of about 3-4 seconds before you are brought back to the dialer.. Until then you're just shown the "Call ended.." message. Thats quite annoying because you have to wait another 3-4 seconds before re-dialing.
3. MTP.. I have never gotten it to work on this phone. After downloading the official Galaxy Note II drivers from samsungs website all I ever get is "Hardware missing" or something like that. I really miss the plain old USB Mass Storage.
4. When you bring the phone to your ear the screen turns black, (thats good), but after you take it back down to see the screen, there's a gap of about 2 seconds before it turns back on. very annoying.
So these are the 4 things I have noticed that I don't like.

While I do agree that these problems may be minor: With all due respect, this is a website about mobile devices and development, and this thread is specifically for the issues regarding the user experience of the T-mobile Note 2.
There is nothing to say that the OP did not start a blog for starving families in third world countries on an appropriate website, or that he lacks common sense and or compassion towards major economic problems. . . as is implied by your remark.
Furthermore, problems must be addressed, not ignored. Many minor problems compounded can become a major one, eroding away the cumulative ease of use and overall responsiveness of the user experience.
Many people like myself regard our phones as valuable business tools rather than toys. It is important to have a high performance tool to efficaciously compete in today's "hi-tech" market.

There is a .002 second delay. I'm calling Samsung right now! I'm like sooooooo pissed

I see it now that you pointed it out and I paid attention to it but even as OCD as I am about my phone, it doesn't bother me one bit. You mentioned in your vid that you were "kinda being a little OCD about it." I believe you're being "kinda a little too OCD" about it...
"That's not the only thing that's really high around here if you catch my drift." Yeah, I noticed lol
Haha. It only really bothered me because I thought I was the only one with it but I guess it's all s4's. My note 2 does the exact same thing. Hopefully this update coming out irons out the s4 issues.

Do you still have s voice on?
That causes a response delay.
Sorry to impatient to watch that all the way thru.
Sent using xda premium.
S voice is off but there's still a slight delay. Apparently all Samsung devices have that though.

Yeah what bugs me though is that obvious lag when switching from app tab to widgets. Not sure if it's me or everyone. But the phone literally stops. .. than continues lol

Regarding this ms delay, I notice you pressed the 'Back' button, and compared the 'timing' to that of the 'Home' button.
It is quite possible that this ms difference may be due to the fact that the 'Back' button is a capacitive button and the 'Home' button is a mechanical button.
The ms discrepancy in the contact being made may be due to the fact that the 'Home' button has to travel further than the 'Back' button to make the contact, which is appearing as a ms delay which you are experiencing.
This may or may not be a cause for what you are observing, and perhaps an Electrical Engineer may be of further assistance.
I am just referring to these 2 'buttons' that you were speaking about in your demonstration.
Sorry, I didn't 'watch' the whole video, but as I was typing this post I did 'listen' to to the entire video.
I am now going to have a drink
Ok so I got a different s4 and it seems to be working much better.
