Google has update its android market for phone,now it has been made more like desktop version of android market.If you havent got the update,then download this .apk file from the link and enjoy

Any of you know if it is compatible with just some smartphone and i must wait

Does it exist my applications section in new market ? i could not see it.

Which version of android ur running?This update is only for phone running version 2.1 or higher

has anyone noticed that it now shows u every installed app including the paid apps u didnt pay for?? should thid b a concern?? like maybe google is tracking your downloads. i kniw they have the power to delete apps at will i going back to the old market lol

What do you think guys about the new market layout?Is it step ahead or backward?Dont you think google has made thing complicated?

I reverted to old market since new market was very laggy on my EDGE network.I cant even migrate to 3G because in my country, 3G oprates at 2100Mhz band which has very poor indoor penetration,so its not worth paying premium price for 3G

not worried at all just an observation

The scrolling seems very laggy, also it looks like google is trying to save on the amount of ram the app uses by constantly loading and unloading images which really sucks.
The market would be so much smoother if it just loaded all tabs at once and cached the images

So, what do you think about it? I think it's unreal that they made in in just 8 hours! Grated, it has a few problems but overall it's extremely well done. One problem that really annoyed me was that it was working fine, then about 4 hours later it would give me complete and utter crap for answers. Now it's working again, if I was to ask "How did Jhon F Kennedy die?" I would receive a full answer provided with pictures, dates, etc. Whereas before I would receive answers such as "He was bitten by a werewolf." or "He sold his soul to Yelloweyes to let Jake live."
Anyway, what's your take on this?

I tried it today. It was useless. I installed tts etc... But it just kept giving me gibberish. The market said voice search was incompatible with my I9100

I think all this voice stuff is crap I'm betting it doesn't take off, it's just a gimmick. Who in real life is going to start chatting to their phone in any real social situation its unrealistic to say the least. The only thing its good for is showing off how clever your phone is, which imo is stupid.

So..it's cleverbot with a speech synthesizer that can apparently do some fact querys?
Isn't the main point of Siri that it interacts with your phone and does stuff there?
I wouldn't call a text-to-speech cleverbot the same as siri or even remotely close..
8 hours doesn't matter in this case - it's simply programming speech-to-text and vice versa from the bot.
Actual interpretation and phone interaction is a completely different and much more difficult thing.

They've already stated that they will be adding voice interactions within the next few updates.

Yes. I'm not sure why you're all fobbing it off. Anyway, here's some upcoming features;
- in 2 days apparently it's going to become supersmart -
Features they will add eventually also include:
Location services
Reminders
Better commands (Such as better contact lookups, etc.)
Weather
etc. etc.

How did you get precise answers? tts library is not compatible with my GS2. Maybe because of the ROM I use?

Canadian Gnex Users, where do you get your music?

Google Music is onlyavailable in the USA. Is there a similar service in Canada?

Once you have created an account (do it on your computer thru a proxy), you will be able to use Google Music in Canada. You can't buy music but you can still stream/download for offline use.

There is a guide how to use Google music outside of US here in xda. I followed that guide and using Google music in Korea.

I was able to use proxy very easily. Using Firefox browser, a plugin called "stealthy" is used, and is visible, once installed in the top right corner of your screen. When you want the proxy turned on, click the stealth bomber and it turns green. Want it off? Click it again and it turns red!
I am able to go to google music anytime using this method, and works flawlessly!

You know you only needed a proxy when signing up? After that, you can use Google Music normally without any issues.

I think the OP meant where do we purchase our music since we can't get it from Google. For me it's generally itunes.

Or basically anywhere you would normally get music before Google Music popped onto the scene only a few short months ago. Odd question.

I use Microsoft Zune. Music is generally cheaper than other places and the UI is great. My sister and I buy a Zune pass together. The music is DRM protected, but there are ways around that...

Mainly iTunes but that's due to a lack of options. I always check hmvdigital.ca first though and if it's the same price there, I'll get it from there instead of iTunes. hmvdigital songs are for the most part 320kpbs and are DRM free and you can download them again and again as many times as you want.

Is this still working for you? I have been using the services in Canada without issue until today, now the Music Manager won't upload additional songs. Methinks Google may have caught on.

I use 7digital. They have a Canadian store and an Android app so you can buy right to the phone if you like. The stuff I've purchased has been 320kbps DRM-free. Easy as pie.

I've been using Google music in Canada since it launched with absolutely no issues. I used a program to fake my IP for the invite, as far as I know you no longer need an invite now. Music manager works flawlessly as well, overall the whole setup is beautiful and I love it.

Weird. It's back to normal now. Refused to upload anything new last night. Maybe they were just having a server issue. Excellent *tents fingers*

I've never used Message+ before, but it's the default messaging app. Is it a good app, or another crappy verizon bloat app?

I love Handcent.
Even let's you back up sms and mms separately to the cloud. And restore. Without root.

You could call it a bloat app with actual functionality. With Message+ you can send texts on wifi (no Verizon signal) and from other devices (Mac/PC, Android/iOS tablet, other phone) and have it sync on your phone. I use it as my default because its the only multi-device texting app that doesn't need your phone to be on in order to send messages as they are sent directly through Verizon.

I absolutely love textra. nothing pulled me from 8sms for over a year until I found textra.

I just find that 3rd party apps don't run as "smoothly" as built in messaging apps. Maybe it's just my mindset idk lol..

I use it on my WiFi only tablet. Works good. Aside from that I use stock.

I use Samsungs message app. I am a little irritated that took quick reply and the detailed lockscreen info away. Along with other little things like the ability to change folder colors. Annoying, but nice phone

I use Verizon Message + to restore all my messages and then I revert to using the included Android app. I've tried many of the third party apps, but I hate hate hate the advertising and I feel they are generally slower as well.

I am with ya on this! I have used 8sms for a long time and textra has made some huge improvements and pulled me away

Both of these options still exist...

I switch between GoSms and Handcent. Might have to check out Textra if people really like that. Also saw one called Sliding Messaging that looked kind of cool.

I moved to Message+ just for the fact I can text from my tab or pc even if my phone is dead.

i use hangouts its linked to my google account and backs it all up for me

I refuse to use message + because Verizon's security is absolutely garbage. I've been hacked and people have gotten into my integrated messaging and it's absolutely ridiculous what a security flaw this is. If i were you guys, I wouldn't use it.

Sweet, can't wait to get a GS6 Edge (128GB of course) and will definitely get this app AND pay for the premium add-on's. Devs that put forth the effort to support devices deserve to get paid for their work.

So we will still have to use - FingerSecurity App
i thought S6/Edge will have this function built in

Awesome app thanks. Have brought the theme unlock. Very nicely done.

Cool app that worked well for me but IMO it's kind of overkill if you already have your screen lock set to thumb scan. This could be handy if you don't use the thumb unlock for security and just set this up for individual apps.

Hi. I am glad you like FingerSecurity. Theoretically that should be possible with root. I am trying to make these kind of options but I can't say if it will every work :$

Hey... can u make a special setting that I can register two fingerprints one where I can access everything and one when I use another finger I can access everything but some apps aren't any more on the home screen or something like that pls!!!

For example i use my left finger and i can access everything i want but when i use my right finger i can't see any more the whatsapp icon or the gallery or Facebook. It's bit weird but i hope you understand what i mean..!

Well yeah I'd like to hide them. It's kind of better for me when I'm with friends or friends like to play with phone they don't need too see my whatsapp Icon or something else. You know what I mean ?
