USB Power Consumption Error - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi folks!
I purchased an OTG micro-sd reader, but I get the power consumption error when I plug it in my rooted Z1c 5.1.1.
I learned about the /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-1/bConfigurationValue trick, but my /devices/ folder is empty so I can't use it...
Here is the relevant log from dmesg:

I tried plugging the reader on the OTG Sony cable I got with the phone, same error message.
Any idea?
People online mention a "USB detection" toggle but I don't seem to have such a thing.
Cheers!
Edit: the reader works fine on my computer, and another USB drive works fine on the phone with my OTG cable.
I think this specific micro-sd reader exceeds the mA threshold set on the phone, and I would like to override that threshold.

Mode Fastboot doesn´t detect Htc Desire usb

Hey, I did a S-Off mode to Htc Desire However it installed a recovery program different which doesn´t like me and I back to amon-ra recovery, and my big surprise is when I try to change Splash for Adb or Android flasher (both running on fastboot mode) my htc desire isn´t recognised however in android system the usb is recognised but don´t recognised in fastboot mode , I don´t use for change splash1, somebody can help me? Thanks for all
Pardon for my poor english
Do you have hboot drivers installed? If not that's your problem.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
In this moment I have formatted pc, and the firs step I have done is installing hboot driver and the problem coming , Where is the problem? help me please!! Thanks for all
usb-brick?
Hi there,
same thing happened to me since I upgraded to oxygen 2 last week. It does look like a usb-brick, however radio, bluetooth and sd (reading music, storing pic from camera) work..
Once plug to my pc, the phone charges but no notification about mounting the sd pops up. Sd is not recognize, I tryed to mount it manually (android booted and through clockwork), via a dedicated apps (like automount ...)n nothing fugging work.
Wanted to use the usb fix from modaco and also listed here, however the phone is not recognize in fastboot (no fastboot usb). I have reinstalled, adk, htc sync, java ... and nothing fugging work.
Any leads on what happening would be much appreciated.
Cheers.
Do you get mend it?

I hope somebody can help
greetings
I have the same problem, phone is attempting to be repaired but I doubt they can fix it.
Had water damage at my usb connector, which i though was the cause but issue still exists after being fixed.
downgraded hboot
flashed stock ruu via PB99IMG.zip method
attempted various methods of the mtd0.img fix
still broken dam usb
Hi,
Got my phone back... but still not joy after they replaced usb connector.
Still have the same issue, but now I have no root (using visionary+ for temp root) and s-on.
Issue : PC unable to connect\detect to desire in hboot/fastboot/normal operations ie... not device detected.
Ps... i think issue occurred after doing oxygen rom as well

Using ADB Wireless to get access to phone... but need to work out how to root my HBOOT 93.xxx
Can downgrade I guess to 83.xx but not sure if that will help
When you formatted your PC you htc sync drivers are also deleted. My desire had also problems with not getting recognized because I never had installed htc sync when going to windows 7 ultimate. After install en delete of htc sync (drivers stay in place) I never had any issues with recognising.

[Q] USB Host Mode Failure

Anyone else have a problem with USB host mode and copying big files?
If so, can we fix this?
I have tried formatting my drive in FAT32,NTFS, and ext2. But the result is always the same, the drive dies if I copy a file bigger than 30 or 40 MB. I have tried stock, Faux123, and francoKernel as well.
The drive doesn't die at a specific MB each time, but it is generally around 30 MB but sometimes makes it to 80 or even 140 MB one time. I am trying to off-load some 700MB movies.
Here is the kernel message error:

<6>[ 2048.837768] scsi 1:0:0:0: Device offlined - not ready after error recovery
I found a thread on TI site for the OMAP4460 that discusses an error like mine but the signature is not the same, seems there they were having a problem with the the TCP/IP stack becoming corrupted because the processor was allocating memory too fast. Something like that is happening here. All I really know is it has to do with the handling of the L3 cache.
I think this may have to do with the cpu trying to idle when it should not.
What kind of drive are you using? If its a portable usb hard drive then this could be a power issue.
It's not a portable HD, just usb sd card reader.
With further investigation I have found that the problem might stem from the x-loader being mismatched to the kernel, which is part of the bootloader.
I tried different bootloaders, but none made a difference.
Finally, I tried a different USB OTG cable, a slightly more expensive one, and it worked.

[Q] sdcard suddenly stopped working

I have had my refurbished HTC Vision for about three weeks and it hadn't had any problems. Then yesterday, I rebooted it and now the sdcard doesn't work. Not just that it doesn't mount, rather there is not even a /dev/block/mmcblk1 device.
Here is what I tried:
* Boot into ClockworkMod, and run adb shell. Still no /dev/block/mmcblk1.
* Boot into fastboot and run "fastboot oem enableqxdm 0" and "fastboot oem eraseconfig".
* Per some random instructions on the net, I held vol-up and power, then pulled the battery after the phone vibrated. Then I held vol-up, vol-down, power and did the same. Then the fastboot commands again.
* Bent the sdcard port's pins out a bit with tweezers.
* SDcard works in computer (Linux).
* Tried another card that has nothing but a vfat partition.
Nothing works! There are some errors in dmesg:
Code:

... and so on. In this run, I see that at least briefly the kernel could read the mmcblk1 partition table (although there still was not /dev/block/mmcblk1). However, most of the time it can't and just gives the CRC errors.
Is this a hardware or software problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Almost 100% hardware from what you have written, I would suggest disconnecting the ribbion cable, clean it, and put it back. If it still won't work a new sd card tray is about 10$ on ebay and a snap to put it

worked!

Worked, thanks!!! The CRC errors made me suspect hardware, but I wanted someone else to say it before I tore the thing open. I've always had bad luck tearing these things apart (only junk phones in the past), but I bought a cheapo disassembly kit a while back which has helped greatly with popping the case off. And thankfully I only had to get to about step three of the instructions before the ribbon cable was accessible!

Random reboot: need your expert help!

Hi all, I have a Note 2 that randomly rebooted when I was charging it. It didn't always do it, but occasionally. This time, after it rebooted when connected to a wall charger (it was already fully charged as the green LED was on for several hours), I disconnected the charging cable and connected it to my computer to do a dump:
adb shell cat /proc/last_kmesg > last_kmesg_11212013.txt
Here is the link of this log file:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/6b4f6ygrtg4b4uk/last_kmsg_11212013.txt
and here is the section that was related to the reboot from the attached log file. There was a panic and the system rebooted. I'm not familiar with Android internal. I hope someone could help me to identify why that happened?
** The phone was in airplane mode (no wifi/data/voice/GPS) when the reboot happened. It's rooted and running stock JB 4.1.2. My phone has the sane emmc chip.
** Noticed that it kept powering on 'mdm' every 5 seconds. The phone was in airplane mode, why Android kept powering on the modem? It was during one of these 'powering on mdm' that it failed and rebooted.
I'd appreciate all the help I can get. Thank you.
