Hey guys, lets discuss about devices compatible with USB OTG, combinations and variations between kernel.
Actually I dont have so many devices so I only can test some devices. I have wireless mouse with nano receiver and it works. Even if you have a usb hub it works also.
And also I want to find out is it possible to charge while using USB OTG and using HDMI while using mouse and keyboard. Anyone has an idea?

MHL+Charging is the only way MHL works, but not with USB OTG. MHL is just using the USB port to send HDMI data, its no longer a USB port. So no USBOTG while mhl is active on the OneX. And you can't charge while host mode is active.
You can use a BT mouse and BT Keyboard in your setup.
To your other question, my wired Xbox360 pad works OTG.

think you cant do that, but with a base for your phone you can charge, have hdmi output, and probably? use your otg cable
audio!

external dacs work beautifully with USB OTG with JB one x, i've tested dr dac nano and the fiio e7 - using stock jb kernel from htc (hboot 1.39) you even get power supplied to the usb otg device!
I am trying to get my nexus 7 2013 setup to use as my new headunit that will interface with my car stereo.
So I am using ElementalX version 2.9
My setup is as follows
OTG Cable>Stock Nexus7 charging cord>Startech 4port USB hub>USB DAC Behringer UCA222 plugged into usb hub >Powering this usb hub for my test is usb cable to power source
Having it setup like this The usb is powered and my nexus 7 is also charging. BUT the USB Dac behringer uca222 does not power on.
If I unplug usb dac from usb hub, and plug the dac into the usb port on OTG cable then the usb dac will power on. Also the USB Hub still has power.
BUT now the nexus 7 will not charge.
WHen I test to see if I can play music from nexus 7 through usb dac to car radio nothing happens, only music is coming from nexus 7.
So am I missing something or doing something wrong?
Music apps I have tried. PowerAmp, N7Player.
Help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Stock Android 4.4.x does not provide native USB DAC hotplug support. Install timur-services-flo442-[date].zip via recovery to enable USB DAC hotplug and USB audio volume patches. This installer will modify the following files:

I'm trying to find out if one of these OTG flash disks (sandisk.com home mobile-device-storage ultra-dual-usb-type-c) will work with the HTC 10 (I own the unlocked US version).
I tried an older micro-USB version of the OTG flash with a USB-C adapter but that did not show anything mounted when plugged in (the flash disk does work on a Galaxy S5 phone).
I'm probably wrong, but I believe it's a Type C thing. I tried my old OTG cable with adapter on my phone with a couple of USB sticks, nothing. I tried it on my tablet (Type C) also nothing.
Are the adapters OTG-capable? Like this?

I can mount USB drives formatted in FAT32 fine.

Can you let us know if you used an OTG adapter cable or something?
>Are the adapters OTG-capable? Like this?
Nope. I would like to know if those adapters you linked to work with the HTC10.
Also, I'm trying to find out if the Sandisk USB-C OTG drive will work (without any adapter of course).
USB stick I use that works and the usb cable I used to mount my regular usb memory stick and sd card reader
I use this, works great. Dash Micro G3 Type-C: Mini MicroSD Card Reader with USB Type-C Plug, keychain case included, Gray, for Nexus 6P/5X, Macbook 2015, LG G5, and others https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01C5JJN2Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_CYIpxbJG7NQ8M

Appreciate the links. That really helps.
Look for adapter that says 'OTG' capable. I think these are those non-conforming (wrong or no 56k pull up resistor) that is the Buzz for charging issues. The pullup tells that phone that it is to act as the slave, not host side, and current limit it's charging.

I'm having the same issue here. I bought a Kingstone OTG USB TYPE-C pendrive, 64gb. The system reads the files, but when I want to use those files, such as music, no apk will find them in the folder's directory. Is there any way to get it to work? I tried the same OTG USB TYPE-C on a Samsung Galaxy 5 and it does work automatically.
Thanks in advance.
i have some pro versions, but only two apps found usb stick and/or music on usb stick.

If you're rooted then use stickmount if not then I don't find it to be friendly.

Yes
I've been seeing varying reports, so I figured I'd ask here: does the 10 support USB audio? Can I connect (for example) a Fiio E18 if I have the correct cable, and expect that the phone will output to the DAC?
I'm about 90% sure that it does.
I use an AudioQuest DragonFly Red and Black using a USB otg cable and it works fine, albeit @96khz.
USB audio player Pro also works well.
This is on a UK sim-free unit, stock and MaximusHD.

Thanks! Can you confirm if you're able to use anything besides USB Audio Player Pro?
Yep, Tidal, YouTube etc all work
Thank you very much MrN, I picked up the DAC and it works wonderfully. I don't know what the guy on $otherForum was complaining about.
No worries dude.
It didn't work when I first tried it so one of the updates must have fixed it.
What cable are you using to connect the phone to the DAC? I've tried the micro USB cable that came with my Fiio E18 and a USB C converter and it doesn't work. I'm currently on a rooted stock nougat ROM.
Bump I would also like to know what cables work

I'm using the Quantum Zero OTG adapter and OTG works fine on my 5T. Try using different adapters and see.
