Hey,
im running official CM13 and i hope you can help me with my question.
If i enable Fingerprint-Sensor, it works even with Screen-off. I only want to unlock my phone with the Fingerprint if the Screen is on, so after i pressed the powerbutton.
Is this possible?
Thx in advance.
Fingerprint sensor is always on. I (and probably many others) don't understand your question. If your phone is screen on on lockscreen evidently you can finish unlocking it with your finger.
Doesn't even worth a question.
I meant that i wnt to unlock my phone with fingerprint ONLY when the screen is in and not with screen off. Sry if i my question wasnt clear. Hope you can help.
Screen off and on doesnt matter.
you only have to put your pattern/pin after reboot thats it

You dont understand what im asking.
I want to find a way to unlock my phone ONLY after pressing the powerbutton(so screen is on) with the fingerprint-sensor. Like you would do with a "normal" PIN.
I know the fingerprint-sensor is able to unlock the phone even if the screen is off, but i dont want it to work that way.

Hi guys, am i the only one with this strange behaviour? Phone screen unlocks when in pocket, seems like it is sensitive to the touch of my legs. Can i prevent it from unlocking?
Put the screen facing outwards?

Same thing happens to me. They should prevent the screen from waking up when the sensor detects something close to the phone like LG does
Happens to me, I put it facing outwards. It seems to happen when there's a notification and the screen lights up.

Same for me, but put the screen facing outward isn't very comfortable in the pocket.
Maybe enabling the sweeptosleep feature instead of double tap to wake is can help to solve the problem, but i don't want do unlock the bootloader.[emoji52]

It's sweeptoSLEEP, not sleeptowake, so it doesn't help.

No, or at least it didn't when I tried it.
You can actually use the proximity sensor to decide if the device will wake or not with doubletap2wake if you're using xposed with GravityBox. So if the sensor detects something's in front it won't wake. But expect some delay to wake your device.
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using Tapatalk
I turned off the double tap to wake feature and haven't looked back. It was never cnsistent for me anyway; sometimes I would need 4 or 6 taps altogether, with delays to see if it worked. The button rarely misses.
i had same problem.decided to remove double tap to wake.

This may help, or you could enable a pattern or pin for the lockscreen.

Tryied but it opens the emergency call dialer and send calls... lol

Completely understand. I've tried taking my phone out of my pocket without any issues (the screen is still black), I also have double tap to wake enabled, but haven't experienced the problem. I'll bring it up with our team.
If i cover the phone sensors with my finger, dttw doesn't work, so it shouldn't work in the pocket. It's proximity sensor related.

I just tested and covering the sensor does in fact stop it on my phone, and yet I'm still getting random wakes in my pocket. I know it's dttw because I feel a short, single vibration, so I don't know what's going on.

turn off double tap to wake is a nightmare with zen 2
leave it on and get used to it

I have found that the thickness of the lining of my pants pocket greatly affects whether the phone turns on. If the pants are loose and the phone can bounce aroudn a bit is even more likely. Jeans are never a problem, but my suit pants are always a problem.

Interesting...I'll make sure to note that...note to self: don't go running in suit pants.

So I can't be the only one who's had proximity sensor issues after putting on a glass screen protector. The phone screen would remain black during calls and the only way to get it back up was if the other person hung up the call. Turns out you can fix the issue by recalibrating the sensor in the hidden menu.
Steps:
1. Type ##228378 in the dialer and press call. It should bring up the hidden menu
2. Select "Device Test"->"MT", it will show "system will be restarted", then choose OK.
3. After reboot, GENESIS MiniOS 3.1 screen will show up, press "individual item+power" while power button is pressed.
4. Find "sensor test", enter it(do not block the proximity sensor), the proximity sensor will be automatically calibrated. Then block proximity sensor two times to exit.
5. Find "Back to the MainList" and click it
6. Press "Normal boot+power" while power butten is pressed to reboot system
7. Make a call and test the sensor to see if the screen turns off when next to your ear and back on when pulled away from your ear.
On my G4 this code doesn't work. It just try to place the Call. Is there another code I should try?

It only works for Verizon G4's. If you have a non-Verizon G4 then you need to find the right code in the general G4 forums.

If you have root you won't need a code. I pulled Adam Szalkowski's ActivityLauncher from his Sourceforge and gave it the ability to launch activities as Root. This version of ActivityLauncher will first try Adam's method of launching an activity, then if that fails, it will open a command shell with root privilege and execute:
am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n (ActivityNameHere) where (ActivityNameHere) is something like "com.lge.hiddenmenu/.HiddenMenu"
Note that I was to lazy to add a popup dialog confirming you want to launch with root. It will just do it if Adam's method fails. For this reason you may want to tell SuperUser to ask every time.
Get it at the link below. On the bottom is a link to download rootActivityLauncher-2.0.apk.
https://github.com/DerekZiemba/RootActivityLauncher/releases/tag/V2.0
An alternative to the app is running that command yourself in adb shell.
Weird, doesn't work on my unrooted 13B.
Please Help, similar problem but got error
My screen cracked in the exact spot of the light sensor and in order to unlock my phone now I need bright light on the area. e.g. another phone's flashlight, well lit room. I thought this might be the solution but when I went to the light sensor test on this method it said that the calibration failed. What might cause this issue? Do I need to get my screen replaced to fix this? I am planning on replacing the screen but is there a short term fix to this annoyance? Also I don't remember, but is it usually possible to unlock a G4 in a dark room, let's say at night before bed with all the lights off?

No clue. You can unlock the G4 in a dark room but there is also a feature on the G4 where if it senses something directly in front of it using the proximity sensor and the room is dark, it prevents itself from staying on. It's to prevent accidental wakes while in your pocket or inside a bag.
Wanted to mention that this completely fixed my issue with lack of light and the screen turning off immediately. It annoyed me for months, but I just conditioned myself to accept it. Thanks for posting this!
Two questions.
1. Should this be calibrated in a dark room? I would assume not.
2. After doing this, should the screen turn off when I put it to me ear or should it stay on ? Normal behavor is for it to turn off.
I ask these because after doing this my screen doesnt turn off when blocking the sensor during a call.

I calibrated it with lights on which makes sense because it needs to be able to tell when the light is being blocked. Screen should turn off during a call if you have the phone up to your ear then back on when you take it away from your head.

Thanks for the reply. Those were my thoughts.
I didn't get this to work the first few times I tried it. I messed with it a day or two later and it seemed to have worked like it should. Since I got it to work, the phone hasn't had any issues to my knowledge.
Thanks it works with my LG G3 D855(global)!!
Only the code to enter the hidden menu varies: G3 D855 Marshmallow *#546368#*855# (note: 3845#*855# with Lollipop)
Hello, i wanted to know if there is any possible way yet to enable the fingerprint scan to be always on? Sometimes i just dont want to tap the screen once to get to the fingerprint panel.
You know you dont need to tap the screen before using it right? Just put your finger on it.

I wouldn't recommend you to use any such method. If you will always keep on the area of fingerprint sensor then it will lead less battery and pixel burning issues.

True that.
Think they set a bad FP position maybe. Could be at a middle of the screen or somwhere higer than it is now. When i use my phone with one/left palm i am thinking i'm gonna drop it...
How to disable the fingerprint sensor while the screen is off?
I want to decrease the energy consumption due to the use of fingerprint sensor while the screen is off.
Thanks
Jesus christ, it's a 4000mAh battery
yes . this . also whenever i took out the phone from my pocket it always said that many fail attemp of unlock with fingerprint . about 7-10 and i have to wait fews second to unlock it
that is so annoying
i would rather turn screen on then unlock with fingerprint . that would be better

I don't have this problem, maybe because accidental touch protection in settings>display is on.

actually you can use whatever screenlock wallpaper and turn on brighten screen in face recognition settings. This feature brightens the screen illuminatemore light so it can recognize your face and then return the brightness to normal.
Is there any toggle/button to disable the Ambient Display? And just show the lock screen when I pickup the phone without pressing any button or tapping the display? So that I can unlock the phone using only face-unlock by just pickup the phone.
you can disable the ambient display, then set double tap to wake the screen which brings you to the lock screen

Thanks for the reply, but my question is, now if we pick up our phone it shows the ambient display. Is there any way to get the lock screen instead of that ambient display when we pick up the phone?

Yes, I'm trying to figure it out how to get it worked using Tasker for past few weeks. My plan is to use the face unlock method on home and fingerprint when I'm not at home. Since the pick up to wake is already there in OOS I thought it can be made in an easier way. But pick up is only working with Ambient Display and not the lock screen.
