EDGE Class 12
nope. HSPA+ is technically a form of "4G", but not the most current LTE (which, i assume, youre referring to)

HTC One X USA Users

So the users that are going to use this device in the USA on AT&T or T-Mobile, where are you purchasing your device from in the states?
Also does anyone know if I were to use it on AT&T will I have to change the cellular settings or will the device pick up default settings on first boot. I remember there were different APN settings for AT&T and an unlocked device to give it access to faster DL speeds. Does anyone know?
Thanks in advance.
I also would like to know if the international version of One X is HSPA+ 42 mbps capable with T-mobile US?
Sent from my Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2 Beta-5
No, it's not compatible with T-Mobile US 4G unless you're lucky enough to live in one of the few places where they're using 1900MHz. It'll work with AT&T data roaming at 4G, and it'll work as 2G on T-Mob's own network.
HTC ONE X specs from phone arena:
GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
UMTS 850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz
Data HSDPA+ (4G) 21.1 Mbit/s, HSUPA 5.76 Mbit/s, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS
UMTS on AT&T works at 850 and 1900 MHz so should be fine, I am not sure about t-mobile. it might work at 1700-2100 so could be kind of a problem...
regarding my personal experience, I have a european desire hd (on at&t), and in the bay area (SF) it gets no more than EDGE connection (I saw 3G icon couple of times ). However Desire HD doesn't work at 850 and 1900 MHz, whereas One X does so... should be fine on at&t.

Yep, as I said, there is no 4G on T-Mobile unless you roam to AT&T, or you're in one of a very small number of places in California where they've started using 1900MHz for T-Mob.

[Q] Unlocked Bell Gs3 on T Mobile

I have a bell GS3 that is unlocked can I use a t mobile sim card in it and get the 3g data or is AT& T the only one that works?
The Bell site says the GS3 supports the following:
HSPA/UMTS compatibility
UMTS 850/1900/2100 MHz
GPRS/EDGE compatibility
850/900/1800/1900MHz
and according to wikipedia T mobile USA has these:
850 MHz/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA
1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE 2G .
1700 MHz UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ 3G/4G
1900 MHz UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ 3G/4G
1700 MHz LTE
So I am fairly certain that as long as the area I am in is serviced by that 1900 MHz UMTS/HSPA I should be fine right? Obviously no LTE speeds buts thats ok I dont even use it as home since it is such a battery pig.
anyone have some input it would be greatly appreciated?
I have a att gs3 which I unlocked and now using on T-Mobile, it works good but a lot of times it switches to edge when there is 4g available. I believe there is a way to fix it by flashing t mobile radio but I dont want to brick my phone so I havent tried.

[Q] Understanding carriers network bands

The article below came up today explaining how T-Mobile network improvements will make it possible for canadian iPhone users to not only have to rely on AT&T when roaming in the US.
http://mobilesyrup.com/2013/03/26/f...e-how-t-mobiles-lte-network-affects-canadians
Looking at the specs of our i747(m) from this link below, the device supports the following bands :
2G - GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G - HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
4G - LTE 700 MHz Class 17 / 2100
Now, where does AWS stand in all of this and if a carrier rolls out a non-AWS LTE network, what other standards/protocols are available ?
What about UMTS?
Moreover, why are our phones called "pentaband phones" when, from the list above, the phone actually support 9 bands ( 4 2G bands + 3 3G bands + 2 LTE bands = 9 bands total)
Trying to make sense of all this but it just doesn't add up
Thanks in advance

[Q] Sprint M8 only using GSM data in Hong Kong

Just got to Hong Kong and bought a prepaid sim for my sprint m8. Data and voice is working, but data only seems to be GSM, and not 3g or 4g. Any advice? Thanks.
Find out what carrier you are using with that prepaid sim.
Then see what frequency bands and protocols are used,
then match that up with your phone.
If i had to guess i would say your missing the right frequency bands or you have the right band but not matching up with the right protocol.
i would use GSMarena.com http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_one_(m8)_cdma-6233.php to get the phones band info. Since you know its a Sprint M8 that will tell you what you need to know.
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - Sprint, Verizon
CDMA 800 / 1900 - Sprint, Verizon
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 - for Sprint
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 - for Verizon
CDMA2000 1xEV-DO - for Sprint, Verizon
4G Network LTE 800 / 1900 / 2600 - Sprint
LTE 700 / 1700 / 1800 / 2100 / 2300 / 2600 - Verizon

I'm on T-mobile. Here it clearly shows Band 4 whenever I have LTE connection.
Edit: Also on HSPA

If you use T-mobile Hspa/hspa+ (4G) and LTE run on band 4 now days.
So, whenever you are on either HSPA or LTE, you be using band 4 as of now.
Here's the T-Mobile bands:
LTE Frequencies:
1700 MHz & 2100 MHz AWS band 4
1900 MHz MetroPCS band 2 (in refarmed areas)
Lower 700 MHz band 12 (in development) / in service in selected areas
3G/4G Frequencies (WCDMA):
1700 MHz & 2100 MHz AWS band 4
1900 MHz PCS band 2 (in refarmed areas)
2G Frequencies (GSM/GPRS/EDGE):
1900 MHz PCS band 2
Should have been clearer
I know all that but I don't know if my phone is on 1900 or aws hspa

You should be able to tell by looking the the signal bars. if you have 3g/4g or LTE, you're on 1700/2100 (b4) I gave all info. T-mobile no longer uses their old 1900Mhz. (MetroPCS) does or did.. Maybe if you set your phone to "GSM Only" on the network setting it may use their old 1900.
Approximately 90% of our network traffic is on our 3G and 4G bands (1700 MHz and 2100 MHz), which is leaving our 2G bands (850 MHz and 1900 MHz) underused. To help make best use of our 2G bands, we will be re-farming the excess 1900 MHz spectrum from EDGE technology to HSPA+. This will not eliminate 2G 1900 coverage in an area, but will free up some of that spectrum for 4G services. This reallocation will result in increased 4G capacity, smoother connections, and fewer dropped calls.

Man, you didn't even get ONE thanks for any of those replies? That will change now even though I have a Verizon LG-G4 and this thread doesn't matter to me
Lol why thank when not answering the question
Question was
How do I find out which hspa band my phone is one?
And yes T-Mobile uses hspa 1900 now. Actually runs both 1700 and 1900 similtaneously in most of CA
Before with the gs6 I'd merely set 1900hspa to see if its here lol
