Hey all, I have Oneplus 3 rooted and running stock rom. When I connect it to my Chromebook the only thing I have access to are the driver files, none of which are useful for chromebook. The same problem occurs when I flip over to Linux on the Chromebook. I have installed adb on the Linux side and had no trouble rooting the phone. But how do I access the phone's file system??
Thanks
Edit- Found the solution. Seems you have to use the USB-C cable that comes with the phone. And after market one (at least the one that I have) won't work.

Hi All,
I have been unable to get my oppo n1 (CM edition) to connect to my home PC (win8 x64). This is annoying as my work PC (also win8 x64) detected and interacts fine with the MTP end point on the phone when connected via USB cable.
Could someone take a look at their drivers when their phone is connected and if possible zip them up for me? i would grab the ones from my work place but it just when friday afternoon and i cant believe this is such a hassle for me.
for the record, my home system currently detects the oppo as USB\VID_22D9&PID_2764\58E10EA
all the other drivers i have found are either for the ADB end point or some other PID.
no, secure boot is too much hassle as wrangling inf files can wait till monday i guess.
TIA to anyone that responds.
ms_comp_mtp
welp i think i have traced this down to a strange fault in just my own PC.
tested my oppo on a win7-x64 machine - installs fine.
I am comparing the setupapi logs to see any divergences and have found one.
my win8 box windows is not "seeing" the usb\ms_comp_mtp "compatible ID" (this is the magic that allows one driver to match many different VID/PIDs, thus a generic MTP driver should work for anything that advertises it self as MTP).
Now for the hard question of why that isnt being sent/seen by my box...
also to add to the mystery - PTP mode works fine, just MTP gives me grief.
While my own journey is far from over, ive learnt the C:\windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log file is quite useful for assisting in figuring out what isnt working when it comes to device driver installations.
I am happy to have a mod close this off, given this problem appears isolated to just my machine.
Hi guys,
my HTC One (M8) won't connect to my computer anymore for some reason. It charges, but I can't exchange files.
I am using CM 11-20141008-SNAPSHOT-M11-m8 and a MacBook Pro with Yosemite.
It always worked before, so I don't know why it suddenly stopped. At first, I thought that it might have something to do
with Yosemite, but a few days ago I tried to connect my phone with an older Mac (that i also used in the past for flashing) and it didn't work either.
Those are the only computers I have ever connected my android devices to and it always worked.
I tried reinstalling android file transfer for mac, but it didn't do anything. I also used 4 different USB cables including the cable
that came with the phone. I even reinstalled HTC Sync, Java and the Android SDK just to be sure.
Thanks in advance for all answers.

Hello everyone,
So I'm either missing something or have a very particular unit, as I can only flash roms from an OTG drive. I've tried installing via sideloading countless times but it just sits there and does nothing. I understand that due to encryption flashing in recovery from local storage is pretty much a no go. but I'm mostly worried about why I cant sideload. I am using up to date Fastboot and ADB, a known good cable, usb 2.0 ports (I've tried all of them). additionally I am trying to do this on Linux so drivers shouldn't be a issue. Anyone got any ideas?
EDIT: Just thought I should add that I have removed my fingerprints and lock screen security thinking that might help. sadly no dice
ok, so turns out sideloading works on my work machine (windows) not sure what I'm missing on my linux box...
Some Linux distributions don't give ordinary users full access to the USB ports. Try as root.

I did, it may no difference. If it helps though I'm running Arch.
That being said I am using adb from the arch repos. It seems to work for everything except adb push and side load. Since I got the rom installed using another computer, next time I'll try using the files directly from Google and see if that makes a difference
So using the official package from Google also did not work. I'll need to investigate what I'm missing further. Till then I at least have it working on another system for when I need it
Try connecting the phone through a USB hub. Worked for me
Greetings
I followed all sorts of online tutorials including driver downloads for windows 8 AND edits of files in linux
It only seemed to work a VERY SHORT while in linux mint! It showed up in ADB and on my file manager
Then mysteriously, for no reason I can see, doesn't connect anymore?
I tried all sorts of things
I am trying to at least root this device!
Any idea how I can do this reliably and to establish secure reliable connection on linux since that seems to be the only OS I can use to reliably connect to this device, at least, in the beginning?
Found the problem was the USB cable
I used another and it connected
What a crazy world
