Chances of Franco Kernel returning to OP3? - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

What do you guys think?
Had some great effect on my OnePlus One years ago. He skipped the OnePlus 2 understandably. Do you think we could see Franco kernel heading our way?

[Q]What kernel do you recommend?

Im still new to the tmobile gs2, had it a couple days. Had a atet gs2 before, what kernel do you guys recommend? right now im trying faux's kernel.
what are you hoping to get with a different kernel?
there are many to choose from
and they are all similar in what they offer
so unless you know exactly what you want, there's no telling which one is the one you are looking for

ok what would be the best kernel for great battery life, and also smoothness and speed. so yeah the best kernel for battery, speed nice and snappy smooth etc?
bullet, synergy and faux are the most popular ones. I personally use faux since i've historically used his for the g2x and sensation which gave me really good results. I've used bullet as well and it was pretty solid. the faux kernel is the newest of the three i've mentioned so it's not as "mature" as the other two yet. That being said, i haven't had problems with reboots.

The question you ask is really hard to answer. Phones are like people. They are picky about what they like best on them. Certain kernels that may work the best for me. May not work the best for you.

I know that, just wondering what the majority of people's opinions are on which one has the best battery life, speed, smoothness etc. Of course I want speed and smoothness, but mostly want to know which one has the best battery life.
I really appreciate everyones replies, thanks alot!!

[Q] Rascream: any good?

Hello! The rascream ROM is any good?
Depends what you're after. Its light, quick and close to stock, but lacks the customization of AOKP and the like. Only way you will REALLY know is if you try it.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
the best! especially when paired with trinity kernel.(of course its only an opinion considering every user has differing needs)
I have only heard of Rascream a few times. Is it full out AOSP or based on some other ROM? (AOKP/CM9/etc)

Now this is what I call a GOOD ANSWER!!!!! Thanks!
It's a great ROM, before I switched to CM9, I had run it a few Days on without problems.
The ROM is just very minimalist and the like who, who is serving them well.
I've had AOKP, CM9, and RASCream.
So far, my best user experience has been with RASCream, as far as speed, stability, and battery life go.
I'm a DEVOUT CM user. But I also prefer to not use nightlies, as I use my phone for work. I'll more than likely jump over once it hits RC status.
in the meantime, I'm very happy with RASCream and Trinity combo.

Which Rom and Kernel

Hey guys,
I've decided I am going to grab one of these, and am looking at preparing which Rom and Kernel. I am mainly after battery life and smoothness. What do you recommend?
Thanks

Faux kernel without a doubt.
As for roms, try them out yourself. HOX has a lot well known devs and their super cool roms. If I was to recommend, give leedroid a try, try aosp, cm9 and paranoidandroid for sure.
Wait few hours and charmeleon v5 will be upgraded in few hours. And then flash it you don't need any other Rom.

As far as kernel.. Eternity is pretty awsome..... with kernel v3.4 and OTG working ..i thinks thats pretty awesome.....

A few suggestions from my own experience:
1. InsertCoin 7.3.0 with Bricked Kernel 0.3
2. Charmeleon v5.0.0 with Faux Kernel
3. Android Revolution HD 7.1.0 with Franco's Kernel or stay with Stock Kernel..both are great in terms of battery life and performance..
OP here is a good combo for you mate and proof how good both rom and kernel are

[Discussion] Which ROM do you use on E980

I Was Wondering If You share which ROM are you using on your E980.
Message from the Moderator:
Share your thoughts about why do you like it or how long you have been using it.
DON'T use this thread to report bugs
DON'T write down your hatred about any ROM as one has put a lot of hard work to make it
DON'T bring up the topic of "Best ROM" depending on the user feedback.

Personally I enjoy the Carbon ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439911
I am pretty fond of the PACman ROM, but I have yet to play around with it a lot. I'll get back to you on it soon.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2456170
This phone is actually very capable, I like it a lot.
Also I've noticed the 4.4 builds of Carbon do not support everything (like developer settings) like the 4.3 builds do. I stick away from KK until it has all the features JB does plus that.
I'm not sure about PACman yet. But it looks really nice I'm really excited to give it a try.
Hope this helps. Also shayneflashindaily said it best. It's really user preference. But if you want a ROM to try I recommend the two above me.

Just a little update if you'd still like to know:
I found PACman to be a little TOO feature filled. It feels like some of the things step on eachother's toes. Also I found some performance dips and bugs like if you press home your apps and widgets do not show up until you open and close your app page. Carbon runs decent with some hiccups. I used this here kernel to speed it up. Make sure you have your backups to restore if flashing the kernel doesn't work out for you.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2637838
I have actually found it to be faster with the kernel.
Only a few hiccups I'm looking to find ways to eliminate entirely. I'll give you an update if you decide to use it and would like to know more

Update: I soft bricked my phone. It's in bootloop. Using Carbon and that kernel when I restarted it to test Kernel Same Page Method or something like that as it loaded to the lock screen I put the charger in. It stopped and got stuck in bootloop. I am now stuck in recovery and about to fix it. Don't use KSM if you use my settings. Lol.

Fast, Decent Battery Life, nightly builds, and not too many serious bugs (As few as possible), least likely to brick, simple to install.
